Chapter 373 Beach Bonding 2

On the beach Chi was making her way to Mimi, who was still hanging with Dipper, Mabel, Rain, and Pacifica. Kai silently followed Chi like a shadow and wondered how Mimi would respond to Chi, once she confessed her feelings for her. The Princess of Shadowkhan was hoping that Mimi wouldn't show the same level of affection towards Chi and just see her as a friend, allowing Kai to step in and show her feelings for Chi, but at the same time, she didn't want to see Chi get emotionally hurt. As Chi and Kai got closer to Mimi and the other children, Soos and Jake suddenly appeared in front of them with a clipboard and pen.
"You two want to sign up for the hotdog eating contest?" Asked Soos holding up the clipboard.
"Eating contest?" Asked Kai looking at Chi.
"It's basically a little competition where a bunch of people eat a ton of food. The winner is usually determined by who eats the most or by being the last one still standing and able to eat." Explained Chi.
"They're pretty fun. Soos and me signed up and are looking for more people to compete with. You ladies want in?" Said Jake.
Chi thought about this. She really did like food and eating as much as she liked singing and thanks to her powers, she had a really big appetite and could put a lot of food away. The thought of entering the contest and winning it excited Chi.
"Oh I'm so in." Said Chi signing up for the contest.
"What about you?" Asked Soos looking at Kai.
"I don't know." Said Kai looking unsure.
"Oh come on, it'll be fun." Pleaded Chi.
"Alright I'll join in." Said Kai as she signed up as well.
"Yes!" Said Chi pumping her fist in the air.
"Thanks you two, the staff will call you, when the concert is ready to begin." Said Soos before he and Jake walked off.
Chi and Kai continued walking towards Mimi.
"Hey Kai I just want to say thanks for coming and backing me up for this. I feel better with a good friend like you by my side." Said Chi giving Kai a small smile.
"I am happy to stand by your side. We may not have known each other very long, but I consider you a very dear friend." Said Kai returning the smile.
"Likewise." Said Chi.
"I would also like to say you look very nice in your swimsuit." Said Kai.
"Thanks. You look great too." Said Chi who was wearing a pink bikini top and bottoms.
"Thank you." Said Kai who was wearing a black bikini top and bottoms.
The two finally reached Mimi and her group, who were now joined up by Finn, Phoebe, Gata, Jeff, Lapis, and Peridot. Chi took a deep breath and addressed Mimi.
"Hey Mimi you want to see something cool?"
Mimi smiled and nodded her head yes and the others turned to watch her.
Chi grinned and used her powers to create two clones of herself, who smiled and posed for Mimi and the watchers. The little audience was impressed by this display. Chi absorbed her clones and then she used her powers to shapeshift into various animals. She changed into a mouse, a cat, a sea turtle, a horse, a giraffe, and finally a bird that flew around Mimi and the others before landing back on the ground and changing back into her normal form and did a bow. Mimi, Kai, and the others clapped and cheered for Chi.
"That was really neat Chi!" Said Jeff as he walked over to the group.
"Thanks. I just figured out shapeshifting and copying myself a few months ago, been practicing with my powers ever since." Said Chi with a grin.
"Awesome!" Said Mimi.
Chi blushed a little and was prepared to thank Mimi and tell her about how she felt about her, when Lapis walked over followed by Finn, Phoebe, Gata, Trucy, and Peridot.
"Hey you all want to go someplace cool and see awesome sights?" Asked Lapis.
"Sure. We're game." Said Pacifica.
Lapis had everyone gather around and then she pointed her hand at the ocean. A bunch of water rose out of the ocean and formed a protective dome around the group. Lapis walked forward and she had the others walk beside her as the dome moved along with them. The dome headed into the water and went under, but thanks to Lapis's incredible power everyone in the dome was perfectly safe and dry as they traveled down deep into the ocean on the sea floor. Phoebe was wearing sandals, so she really didn't have to worry about any wet ground they walked on, since her feet were protected. As the group moved on and took in all the sights of the sea, Chi was making a plan to express and display her love for Mimi, using her powers and the environment.
Back on the beach, Soos and Jake had just gotten Bebe to sign up for the hotdog eating contest. Bebe was confident that with her powers she could easily win the contest. The daughter of Gumbald then decided to pay a little visit to other members of her family and walked over to where Braco was hanging with Simon and Betty. Braco's security team saw Bebe coming and quickly formed a protective circle around Braco and grabbed Neddy. Simon and Betty eyed the newcomer, with suspicion, but kept calm. Bebe smiled and raised her arms up in peace.
"You can relax, I'm not here to fight you or anything. I just felt like talking and seeing how you're doing after that little drama with that mob from the Fire Kingdom." Said Bebe.
"We're fine. Thanks for your concern." Said Braco keeping a civil tone.
"Well I'm glad you're fine. Honestly there wouldn't have been any drama if it wasn't for my cousin's actions." Said Bebe.
"My wife made a mistake. The Fire People are justifiably mad. I hold no ill will towards them." Said Braco.
"You and your son nearly paid the price for your wife's actions. If it weren't for the intervention of the Flame Princess and Simon, you could have died. You got lucky today, but next time you encounter a crowd of Fire People you might not be so lucky." Said Bebe.
"Look I thank you for your concern, but the situation is under control and I promise to be more careful in the future. The whole situation with the Fire Kingdom will be settled in court. Now I would like you to please leave." Said Braco with a glare.
"Fine. I'm just being a good family member by checking in on you and speaking the truth. No need to get mad about it. Just remember that you have other family members you can call on for help if you need it. Despite what your wife said my father is a good man and he cares about his family." Said Bebe as she turned around and left.
The guards separated from Braco and Neddy. Braco let out a sigh and went back to enjoying his time on the beach and tried to not think about Gumbald or the encounter with the Fire People mob.
On another part of the beach Alcor had used his powers to create a large yellow tent for a special occasion. Alcor then went and got Wendy and took her into the tent. The inside of the tent was pitch black and Wendy couldn't see anything, as she was lead over and sat down on what appeared to be a chase. As Wendy sat down, she began to wonder what Alcor was up to and her heart started pounding in her chest as she felt her face begin to turn red.
"Hey Alcor...you didn't bring me here to...do it?" Asked Wendy.
"Do what exactly?" Asked Alcor.
"You know. IT. I mean I really do you, but I'm not ready for something like that." Said Wendy.
Alcor was silent for several seconds, until he finally understood by what Wendy meant and his face flushed red in embarrassment.
"Oh THAT. No we're not doing THAT. Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression." Said Alcor.
"Oh that's ok. So what exactly are we doing here?" Said Wendy feeling relief yet a tiny bit of disappointment.
"Well I'm working my way up to showing and telling you something important about myself." Said Alcor as he removed his helmet.
It was still pitch black, but Wendy could see a pair of glowing yellow eyes. Wendy quickly realized she was seeing Alcor's eyes for the first time. She felt a hand take hers and then she felt a face. The face of Alcor.
"You finally going to show me your face?" Asked Wendy.
"Soon. I promise." Said Alcor.
The eyes moved forward and Wendy felt lips against her own. Wendy and Alcor began to kiss as they enjoyed each other's company in the dark.
Back beneath the ocean there was a massive coral reef not too far from shore. This reef was the home of the Coralites. They were a small and friendly race that resembled blue sea monkeys, with orange bellies. The reef they lived on was made of a very unique coral and unfortunately that sometimes attracted the wrong kind of attention.
A few hundred yards away from the reef, Treasure Knight, General Sheep, and General Pig spied on the Coarlites and their. The three greedy generals had heard about the special reef and knew that a bunch of people in the black market, who were willing to pay a fortune for some the coral or a few Coralites. Some people wanted to use the coral to make perfect wigs, jewelry, and fancy pots. There were wizards who believed that the Coralites were the secret ingredient in alchemy to turn lead into gold or be used in a potion to make oneself immortal. Whatever the reason people were going to pay huge sums of money for the coral and the Coarlites and the generals were determined to make a fortune. The generals had a secret weapon prepared just for the occasion and they went to go prepare it for the hist.
In another part of the ocean, Canyon was taking a stroll across the ocean floor. Since she was a water elemental, Canyon could breath underwater. Canyon was excited about joining the Peace Protectors and looked forward to working alongside other heroes. As Canyon walked she came across a large pile of bones of various sizes. Canyon studied the bones and came to the conclusion that a large predator had killed and devoured all the creatures and left their bones behind. She then came across a rock that one of the victims had carved a message onto. The message read 'The ice cream was a lie!'. Canyon felt a chill go down her spine as she began to place all the pieces together. She knew exactly what kind of creature could do this and she had a bad feeling it was heading towards the resort and planned to make a meal of some of the tourists and beach goers. Canyon quickly began to make her way back to the beach hoping she wasn't too late.
