Chapter 387 Size Matters 2

Mabel, Chicle, Rain, and Giffany found some rocks to crouch behind and watched the Cuties patrolling and guarding the edge of Soft Village. Chicle studied the Cuties and began to pull out a cellphone.
"What are you doing?" Asked Mabel with alarm.
"I'm going to call Simon and alert him about this. He'll either come here with the Wizard Police, the Peace Protectors, or some other people who are better equipped and have more experience dealing with stuff like this. We are way out of our league here." Said Chicle as he prepared to make the call.
"NO! Please don't! My brother will find out and be furious with me!" Pleaded Mabel.
"Look kid, we have bigger problems then your brother being mad at you. There's a large number of hostile creatures that clearly have invaded a village and have enslaved it's occupants. There are only four of us facing off against an unknown number of enemies we know nothing about and they may or may not be using a magic flashlight that can grow and shrink things. This is something the four of us cannot handle. We have to do the smart thing and call for help to deal with this." Said Chicle.
"I agree. Chicle is being quit logical." Said Giffany.
"Can't you just use your invisibility to sneak into the village grab the flashlight and use it against the enemy?" Asked Mabel.
"Look we don't even know where in the village the flashlight is. Even if I was able to find it, I couldn't just simply pick it up. I can make myself invisible, but I can't make objects I pick up invisible as well. The enemy will see the flashlight floating in the air and rush and even if I were to use the flashlight against them, it's still one against a small army. I'll either get bum rushed or surrounded and captured. I would prefer none of that to happen to me or any of us." Said Chicle.
"His got a point." Said Rain.
Mabel wanted to argue, but Chicle was making some good points. They were facing a dangerous situation and it could get worse. Chicle was about to make the call, when Mabel took notice of some Cuties approaching the ones on guard duty at the edge of the village. They exchanged words and then they all turned to leave and head to the center of the village. All the Cuties seemed to be heading that way giving Mabel and her little group a chance to enter the village.
"Come on something is happening!" Said Mabel to the others before she took off running after the Cuties.
"Mabel come back!" Cried Rain as he and Giffany ran after Mabel.
Chicle let out a sigh as he put his cellphone up and went after the others. He knew he should have called Simon right away, but he supposed he should collect a little information about these invaders first to help prepare any forces Simon brought with him. Also, since Chicle was technically the oldest the welfare of Mabel and Rain was his responsibility. Hopefully things wouldn't go crazy in the village.
Miles away, Insecto Knight had reached the Treefort. Insecto Knight took a deep breath and shrank down to insect size. He made sure the communication crystal was properly secured to his back before he dashed through the grass towards the Treefort. Insecto Knight climbed the tree and located a small hole to climb through and began to make his way through the branches and floorboards, until he found himself overlooking the kitchen and living room. The tiny knight looked down and saw Finn, Jake, Gata, and Locke sitting on the couch playing a vide game on BMO. The four players had fierce determined looks on their faces as they pounded the buttons on their controllers. After a few minutes a loud cheery voice spoke from one of BMO's speakers.
"The winner is Gata!"
"Yes! High score!" Cheered Gata excitedly.
"Man she is a gaming goddess." Said Locke with admiration.
"That's our sister for you." Said Finn.
"So what should we do now?" Asked Jake.
"Can we go visit my family at the factory? I want to show them my mech form." Said BMO.
"I'm down with that." Said Finn and the others agreed.
They grabbed their backpacks and supplies and then they left the Treefort. As they walked away Finn glanced back and looked around the area.
"Something wrong?" Asked Jake.
"I just had the feeling that we were being watched, but I guess I was just be paranoid." Said Finn with a shrug.
"Hey man I don't blame you, after hearing about Bubblegum spying on us, with some secret cameras it makes sense to be a little paranoid. You never know who could be watching." Said Jake.
"Yeah I guess so. Thought I sensed something dangerous, but it could have just been my imagination." Said Finn.
The five on them continued on and as they got further away, Mr. White the underwear assassin crawled out of the well near the Treefort and shot a glare at the heroes. Mr. White had been planning to attack and kill Gata from behind using a sling and a stone, but Finn had sensed his presence forcing the assassin to jump into the well to avoid being spotted. Mr. White had lost his sling, which made him curse Finn. The man was young, but he had sharp senses if he was able to sense Mr. White. The young hero could present a problem for the assassin on his mission, but he was determined to fulfill his contract by any means. Plus if he was able to take both Finn and Jake out in the process, then Mr. White would become incredibly famous in the criminal underworld and he would be considered the best assassin in all of Ooo. Mr. White smirked as he followed after Gata and the others.
Back in the Treefort, Insecto Knight was doing a bit of exploring, when he heard the sounds of fighting close by and decided to go investigate it. Insecto Knight came across a clearing with some large branches and saw a bunch of bugs that appeared to be termites fighting what looked like a tiny worm creature that was roughly Insecto Knight's size. The little worm had stubby arms and legs and fought with a sword. Insecto Knight watched the little worm fight the termites impressed and was impressed. The worm was still a bit of a beginner, but he fought with a great deal of compassion and fighting spirit. Insecto Knight watched the worm fight as he wondered what he should. His mission was to spy on the Treefort residents and alert his superiors about when they headed to Mt. Ebott nothing more. The worm's fight wasn't a part of his mission or his concern, but then he thought about his teachings from Shovel Knight and Shield Knight. The duty of a knight was to protect and help people and that's what Insecto Knight was going to do. Insecto Knight leaped into the air and came down stabbing one of the termites and killing it, before he leaped again and stood back to back, with the worm.
"Are you ok?" Asked Insecto Knight as he sliced one termite in half.
"I'm fine. Thanks for the assist." Said the worm as he stabbed one termite.
"I'm Insecto Knight." Said Insecto Knight as he sliced the arms off of one termite.
"I'm Kent." Said the worm as he hacked the leg off of one termite.
After a few minutes of fighting all the termites were dead and both Insecto Knight and Kent could take a little breather.
"So I'm new around these parts, can you tell what the deal is with these termites?" Asked Insecto Knight.
"They arrived a few weeks ago. This tree used to have a rat problem, but I beat their leader and chased them off, but then a Termite Queen and her people moved in and started causing trouble. In some ways the termites are even worse, since they're pretty mindless and the queen produces so many in small amounts of time. I managed to track the queen down, but she is too heavily guarded for me to get to her on my own." Said Kent.
"Perhaps if you had some help you could defeat her." Said Insecto Knight.
"You would really help me?" Asked Kent.
"It is the duty of a knight to help and protect others. I am a knight, so therefore it is my duty to help you." Said Insecto Knight.
"Whoa! An actual knight! Thanks man I really appreciate the help." Said Kent with a smile on his face.
Kent lead Insecto Knight deeper into the tree as the two of them went to put a stop to the Termite Queen.
Miles away at the Soft Village, all the Cuties were gathered up in the center of the village around a makeshift. On the stage was Cute King decked out in his new bad boy duds. Cute King stood behind a small table with some boxes on it and he also had the flashlight sitting on the table as well. Mabel, Chicle, Rain, and Giffany crouched behind some trashcans a few yards away and looked at the stage.
"So that guy on the stage appears to be the leader." Said Chicle.
"I don't know if I should find him cute or terrifying." Said Mabel.
"Well I'm pretty sure his dangerous." Said Rain.
As the last Cutie arrived Cute King began to address his people.
"My fellow Cuties, it has come to my attention that our cute appearance is not helping with the image were trying to project to our enemies. So I've taken the liberty to have some new uniforms made up for us to improve our image and strike fear into the hearts of our enemies." Said Cute King before he motioned to a couple of his subjects to come onto the stage and take the boxes.
The Cuties took the boxes, went into the crowd, and began passing out the uniforms. Soon every Cutie was wearing a black jacket. The Cuties liked the new uniforms and they made them feel confident.
"Now we look like proper bad boys. Ok on to the next matter of business. I've been thinking of the next place to invade and I've figured out the perfect place. A place so big and grand that will be famous after we conquer it. I'm talking about the Candy Kingdom!" Said Cute King.
There were gasp of shock from the crowd at such a bold and daring move.
"But my lord, so many people have tried to conquer the Candy Kingdom in the past and failed! What makes you think we can do any better?" Said one concerned Cutie.
"You forgot we have a secret weapon that none of those other invaders had. We have a flashlight that can make things grow and shrink." Said Cute King as he picked the flashlight up.
The Cuties awed at this and they slowly began to understand where Cute King was going.
"With this little beauty we can make ourselves hundreds of feet tall and we could shrink the Gumball Guardians or any other defenders that get in our to the size of insects. As long as we got this flashlight, will be unstoppable!" Said Cute King holding the flashlight high in the air.
The Cuties cheered excitedly and began to pump their fists in the air.
"Ok, we have to call this in and either get that flashlight away from those crazy Cuties or delay their invasion in some way." Said Chicle as he began to pull out his phone.
"I don't think we're the only ones interested in the flashlight." Said Rain pointing at something that had just entered the center of the village.
Everyone turned stunned to see a bunch of red eyed shadow creatures rise out of the ground and began to surround the Cuties. Standing behind the shadows were Morbidia, Natasha, and Gateaux.
"You're absolutely right about that flashlight being powerful, so why don't you be a good little boy and hand it over, otherwise will take it by force." Said Morbidia with a cruel smile.
Before Cute King could make a response another voice spoke up from above.
"That flashlight is going with no one except me!"
Everyone looked up in confusion at what first appeared to be a regular tiny butterfly hovering in the air. There appeared to be a tiny ray gun in it's right arm. The gun glowed bright and a powerful laser fired out of it and ripped through the ground causing some of the Cuties to leap out of the way as a few of the shadows got destroyed. The gun soon stopped firing and Cute King looked up at the butterfly recognizing it for who it was.
"Buffered Butterfly!" Exclaimed Cute King.
Buffered Butterfly let out a crazy laugh as he flew around firing more lasers. Chaos soon broke out and Cuties and shadows began to fight.
"Well this got crazy real fast." Muttered Chicle.
"Well at least it'll be easier to get the flashlight." Said Mabel.
Chicle just groaned. The struggle for the flashlight was on.
