Chapter 391 Recruitment

(Author's Note: Alright folks here comes a massive block of characters in this next little saga. You'll be seeing good guys, bad guys, and maybe explosions. Also special shoutout to RavenShade for his awesome ideas and request.)
A few years before the Mushroom War.
In a specially made mansion in California, there lived a unique teenage girl named Dakota Milton. Dakota had once been a normal teenage girl, until she went on a reality show called Total Drama Revenge of the Island and through a bunch of craziness she had been exposed to toxic chemicals that had caused her to mutate. Now Dakota was roughly twelve feet tall with orange scaly skin, with a short little lizard tail, clawed feet and hands, sharp teeth, red eyes, and spiky green hair. After Dakota had been mutated she had been dubbed Dakotazoid, but she still answered to Dakota. The transformation had been very traumatic for Dakota and for a while she had acted like a beast and had trouble forming words and sentences, but thanks to the love and care of a boy named Sam, who was a fellow contestant on Total Dream and the resources of her rich father Dakota was able to get some much needed help and was able to speak clearly now. Dakota's father provided her with clothes and furniture especially made to handle her large build and looked for a cure to undo her condition so she could live a normal life. Most days Dakota spent most days in the mansion with Sam, but right now she was currently sitting on a big couch in the living room watching tv by herself. Dakota was enjoying herself, when all of a sudden the power and lights went out. The mutant stumbled to her feet in confusion, when she heard a bunch of glass break and suddenly a strange bulky shadowy figure appeared in the living room facing Dakota. Dakota studied the intruder not sure what to make of them. The intruder was roughly Dakota's height and had what appeared to be large spider legs sticking out of their back. Dakota watched as the figure pulled out what appeared to be a strange gun and pulled the trigger. There was a soft poof sound and Dakota felt something stab her in the neck. Dakota slapped a hand to her neck and found a dart in it. Dakota began to feel woozy and then she collapsed to the ground and everything went dark as Dakota lost consciousness. The intruder walked over to Dakota and shot what appeared to be some kind of webbing from it's mouth and wrapped the mutant up in it. After Dakota was fully secured the intruder picked her up and walked out of the house.
In Virginia a girl by the name of Valerie was out for a walk in some woods. Valerie looked like a normal girl with puffy yellow hair in pigtails and wore a black skirt and pink shirt. She walked deeper into the woods and listened to see if there were any people nearby and then she sniffed the air. There weren't any people in the woods for miles. That was good. Valerie took a deep breath and her body began to rapidly change. Her eyes turned bright red, her head became larger and more canine like with fuzzy ears and a mouth full of fangs. Valerie's clothes vanished as her body grew and rippled with muscles. Patches of yellow fur grew on her chest and rear and around her hands and feet. A tail with a round puff of yellow fur sprouted from Valerie's rear. In a matter of seconds Valerie had transformed into a monster known as a weredog. Weredogs were a type of monster that were very similar to werewolves. Valerie came from a family line that had weredog genes. The gene had skipped a couple of generations and now Valerie had it. Valerie had experienced her first transformation a few months ago and freaked out about it. Thankfully her parents knew about the weredog and told Valerie about her heritage and gave her a book that would help her understand her powers. Valerie spent the next few months practicing and getting the hang of her powers. A part of Valerie enjoyed transforming and going on a run through the woods. Valerie got on all fours and began to run through the woods. She ran and she ran, until she ran into what appeared to be a giant spiderweb and fell to the ground tangled up. Valerie ripped and tore at the web, until she felt something hit her neck and she began to feel dizzy and began to change back into her human form. Valerie managed to see a large figure jump down from the trees and land a few feet from her before she lost consciousness. The figure picked Valerie up and walked away with her.
In a deep of Transylvania there was a large gothic castle that served as both a home and tv studio for a man named V.V. Argost. Argost was an odd pale man with a hunched back, yellow eyes, white hair, and a couple of fangs. He dressed in black pants, black shirt, black shoes, and a long grey cape with a white trimming that was draped over his shoulders. Argost ran a successful tv show called Weird World about creature called cryptids. He was a mysterious being, who did many shady things and worked with some very questionable people. Argost was currently sitting behind a large desk going over the next episode for his show, when a man with blonde hair and piercing green eyes dressed in a business suit stormed into the office and marched right up to the desk.
"I know about the little kidnappings you had your manservant do and I don't like it." Said the blonde man.
"Now why would that concern you? You've done your fair share of kidnapping and making people disappear over the years." Said Argost looking up at the man.
"My people and I have always been discrete and careful about that. We've had to make some serious changes and adapt to the modern age to keep our presence hidden. With all the advances in technology over the years one has to be careful." Said the blonde man.
"I assure you that I have taken the proper precautions to make sure none of the kidnappings are traced back to me. You forgot I'm a celebrity in the public eye, why would anyone suspect me of anything like kidnapping. Now why don't you go slither back under your rock, I have a show to work on and a public to please." Said Argost waving his hand at the man.
The blonde man gritted his teeth in anger and then his body began to grow and change. In a matter of minutes the man had transformed into Cedric king of the Nagas. The massive snake creature glared down at Argost who didn't seem to concern about the Naga towering over him and his desk.
"Remember your place Argost! We recruited and aided you. Everything you have is thanks to us! If the authorities link you to the kidnappings in any way, you will be exposed for what you really are and there is a chance my people will be exposed as well. If that happens I will personally make sure you suffer an agonizing and painful death." Said Cedric.
"And once I meet my demise a bunch of files will be released to the governments and authorities of the world telling them every little secret about your people. Your plans will be ruined and you will either be hunted down or forced to go deeper into hiding." Said Argost looking Cedric right in the eyes.
"Well played. I suppose were at an impasse for the moment. I hope for both our sakes you are right about the authorities not looking into you." Said Cedric as he changed back into his human form and adjusted his tie.
"Everything is under control." Said Argost.
"May I ask why you sent Munya to kidnap those particular girls?" Asked Cedric.
"They are both unique beings that might prove useful to the future you have told me about." Said Argost.
"Yes the future. A great power is at play in the world. For a very long time it has been trapped in this world thanks to the meddling of the Elementals, but now that power is rising up and it will cause a great disaster like none have ever seen on this planet. When the ashes clear we shall swear our loyalty to the master and rule alongside him." Said Cedric with a hint of a smile before he turned and left the office.
Argost waited a few minutes before he turned to his computer and pulled up a story about a Sasquatch sighting in California and smiled.
"Like Hades of the Underworld I will have my own personal Furies to serve and protect me, until I obtain great power of my own. Then people will start have to answer to me. Including the Nagas." Said Argost to himself.
