Chapter 397 Recruitment 7

Julie's little group were heading down a road in their stolen van trying to find civilization, so they could report their kidnapping by Argost to the authorities. So far they had very little luck, until they came across a large road sign directing them to the Grocery Kingdom, so they decided to head that way hoping to find people who could help them.
The Grocery Kingdom was an extremely large building and had once been a shopping mall before the Mushroom War. Years after the war a group of explorers found the mall mostly intact and reported their findings to their investors. The investors were a group of rich families from the various and they came up with a great idea for the mall. They first went about repairing the damage to the structure and made sure the building had power before they approached several shop owners, cooks, and farmers and offered them a place to sell their goods in their new store for a fair price and cut of the prophets. The shop owners, cooks, and farmers liked the proposal and agreed to it. Soon the building became a huge success and it was called the Grocery Kingdom and as the years went buy the store expanded it's merchandise to other products such as weapons, armor, and magical items. Another business that was a part of the Grocery Kingdom was scavenging and trading. People from all around Ooo brought in things they scavenged from dungeons and the badlands.
A group of scavengers entered a side entrance of the Grocery Kingdom with a big truck loaded with a enormous freezer the size of a bank vault. One of the Grocery Kingdom supervisors approached the scavengers and their truck and asked what they found.
"Well we we're doing some heavy digging in the Mountain Kingdom, when we found this freezer that still seemed to be functioning. We opened it up and found tons of pies along with what appears to be three oddly dressed humans and a weird dog creature frozen inside." Said a scavenger.
"Let's take a look inside." Said the supervisor.
The door to the fridge was opened to reveal a ton of frozen pies and the frozen League Of Super Evil. Voltar was frozen with his right fist in the air, Doktor Frogg was frozen with a panicked look on his face as he pulled on his hair, and Red Menace and Doomageddon were frozen eating pies. The supervisor paid the scavengers with some gold and the freezer was loaded off the truck and sent to a storage area where frozen goods were kept. The frozen pies were unloaded and the League Of Super Evil were left in their freezer. The supervisor decided to make a phone call to the Ice Kingdom and asked for someone with ice powers to deal with the frozen strangers. A person with ice powers could easily unfreeze the strangers and if they proved to be troublesome the ice user could easily freeze them. The call was made and Patience was the one to answer and said she would come. Feeling at ease the supervisor left the frozen League Of Super Evil alone a few yards away from a frozen prehistoric creature the workers had dubbed Beastly Bumblepuss. Beastly was a hulking creature that stood over eight feet tall and was covered in grey fur. He had a long tail with spikes on it, a long pointed face, a mouth full of sharp fangs, carried a large wooden club in his righthand, and a spotted brown loincloth a little brown hat, and some kind of red bandana around the back of his neck. Beastly had been found frozen in the Ice Kingdom by scavengers and sold to the Grocery Kingdom, who kept the creature frozen as they tried to figure out what to do with him.
The storage area was empty and unattended by any of the workers. All was quiet, until Klarion, Teekl, and Julian arrived on the scene and began to explore the area looking for something to cause a little chaos and relieve their boardroom. The villains searched high and low, until they found the frozen League Of Super Evil and Beastly and got a nasty little idea. Klarion let out a nasty little chuckle as he conjured up two hovering balls of energy and placed them near the frozen villains and monster. The balls began to heat up and the ice began to slowly melt.
Miles away Maja was entering some dark woods looking for a powerful ally to aid her in her plans that would give her tremendous power and a nearly unlimited supply of minions. Maja's current minions only consisted of Crabbit, Dex, Darren, Hood, and Laser Wizard. She trusted Crabbit, Dex, Darren, and Hood, but she didn't trust Laser Wizard, who had a group of underlings of his own and was doing things behind Maja's back. Maja needed to increase her own forces and show her worth. The Sky Witch found a large clearing in the woods, landed, and waited. There was some rustling from the surrounding grass and then a large group of eggplant creatures and mushroom creatures called Flushrooms. The eggplants were the same size as regular eggplants, with eyes, mouths, and little vine arms and legs. They were lead by a fat eggplant wearing an army helmet named Bobby Ganoush and his second in command a blueish skinny eggplant wearing a military hat named Ratatouille. The Flushrooms had green stems with a yellow-spotted red cap as well as yellow gills. They also had faces protruding from underneath the cap that had six yellow eyes—three on either side—and a large, grey jaw lined with many sharp teeth. Maja smiled at the sight of the creatures, which confirmed that their master was in the woods somewhere. She heard some hissing up above and looked up to see dozens of Fruit Witches hovering in the air glaring down at her.
"Well this just keeps getting better and better." Thought Maja as she heard larger creatures moving through the forest towards her.
The first to arrive were a group of three foot tall creatures called Living Mushrooms. They were odd mushroom creatures with arms, legs, multiple mouths, and glowing green eyes. The Living Mushrooms were a hive mind and they were the eyes of a being called Mycelium. Following the Living Mushrooms were a group of large humanoid cactus creatures called Attacktuses. The Attacktuses had spikes that served as their fingers, orange spikes on their heads, wore sunglasses, and had large round pink gems in their chests. Alongside the Attacktuses were a few Dimple Plant Monsters. They had a small bonsai shrub of some sort that served as their head and consisted of three bushes, two were yellow with orange flowers and one was green. On the green section they had a face with dimples and a smile, as well as eyes with beady black pupils and eyelashes. Below the shrub heads were a giant series of roots with three large segments that each had a sharp-toothed mouth and three root feet. The last to arrive were a couple of giant creatures called Smashrooms. They were towering monstrous mushrooms with sharp yellow teeth, white eyes, a white and red cap, four large legs, and two large arms for smashing.
"Leave this forest witch." Said Bobby.
"Not until I see your masters and have a word with them." Said Maja.
"Then you will be destroyed." Said Bobby.
"Oh I don't think so." Said Maja as she pulled out the containment crystal that contained Darren and unleashed the Sleeper.
Darren appeared towering over all the plant creatures.
"At last! A bit of killing and action!" Boomed Darren as he stabbed forward with his staff and stabbed a Smashroom through the head and instantly killed the monster.
Darren turned his attention to the smaller plant creatures as he yanked his staff out of the Smashroom and unleashed a blast of magical energy from his mouth and destroyed several of the plant creatures in a matter of seconds. Maja just watched the destruction and smiled. After a few seconds Maja order Darren to stop as she walked towards Bobby who was hiding behind a tree with some other eggplants and some Flushrooms.
"Take me to your masters." Said Maja.
"As you...wish." Stuttered Bobby as he lead the way deeper into the woods followed by Maja and Darren.
Back at the Grocery Kingdom, Julie and her group had just drove into the parking lot and were finally getting their first real look of some of the various races of Ooo going in and out of the Grocery Kingdom. They saw candy people, fire people, slime people, lizard people, turtle people, rock people, nut people, berry people, and a few other races. Julie and her group were blown away by what they saw and were quit confused.
"Did Argost somehow drug all us of before we escaped?" Asked Julie.
"I don't think so. I don't think we'd be seeing the same thing if we were drugged." Said Sam.
"Good point." Said Julie.
"Well on the plus side Dakota doesn't have to worry about hiding or freaking anyone out with her appearance." Said Sam putting a comforting hand on Dakota's knee and smiled at her.
Dakota smiled back.
"I wonder how long we were trapped in Weird World?" Asked Lila.
"Good question. I guess the only way, we're going to find out is by going out there and asking people what's been going on in the world." Said Julie.
The little group got out of their van and headed towards the Grocery Kingdom. They got some curious glances from some of the people they passed, but no one was being hostile or anything that caused the group any worry. Some of the people smiled and waved at Julie and her group and they smiled and waved back. They entered through a pair of locked doors that were made to accommodate beings as tall as Dakota and they found themselves in the Grocery Kingdom. Julie and her friends stared at the massive setup in awe before they went over to a nearby wall that displayed a careful detailed map of the Grocery Kingdom and it's various sections. Julie located a place labeled Information Center and the group headed that way.
Out in the parking lot a motorcycle with a sidecar rolled up and two oddly dressed beings in black hopped off. One being appeared to be a large fingerprint with tiny arms and legs wearing a domino mask and the other was a tall squirrel-like creature wearing a black hat with eyeholes over their head, a black long sleeved shirt, and black pants. The fingerprint went by the name Sal Left Thumb and the squirrel creature was called Roquefort. The two of them were making big plans to rob the Grocery Kingdom and join Castle Lemongrab's army. They had big ambitions, but not too much sense. The duo were considered the dumbest criminals in all of Ooo, mostly due to the weapons they tried to use to rob people. Sal's weapon of choice was a regular size dirty spoon and Roquefort's weapon was a toilet plunger. The two robbers pulled out their weapons and headed towards the Grocery Kingdom.
Back inside the Grocery Kingdom's frozen storage section, the League Of Super Evil had finally thawed out and were looking around at their surroundings in confusion.
"How did we get unfrozen and where are we?" Asked Doktor Frogg.
"Obviously my evil energy freed us. My body has tons of evil energy." Said Voltar proudly.
"More like ego then energy." Mumbled Doktor Frogg under his breath.
"I'm the one who freed you and as to where you are, you're in the cold storage area of the Grocery Kingdom. It's a big place of business in the Land of Ooo, which is on planet Earth." Said Klarion getting the villains's attention.
"Ooooooo! I have a good feeling about this place!" Said Red Menace.
"Who are you?" Demanded Voltar pointing at Klarion, Teekl, and Julian.
"Just some fellow evil villains. Now who may we ask are you?" Said Julian.
"I am Voltar the leader of the League Of Super Evil! These are my associates Doktor Frogg, Red Menace, and Doomageddon! Together we are the greatest villains the world has ever known!" Proclaimed Voltar before he burst out in evil laughter.
"Hey Voltar, our pies are gone." Said Red Menace looking a bit disappointed.
"WHAT?! NOOOOOOO! Those pies were a part of my evil plan to pie everyone in town! Everything is ruined!" Yelled Voltar in dismay.
"Oh I think we can give you a little hand." Said Klarion as he snapped his fingers and a red wagon full of pies appeared next to Voltar.
"It's a evil miracle!" Exclaimed Voltar excitedly.
"What kind of pies are these?" Asked Doktor Frogg eyeing the pies.
"I call them Exploding Berry Pies. They really pack a punch and I recommend not eating them." Said Klarion with a wicked grin.
Doomageddon picked up one of the pies and took a bite out of it. There was was a loud explosion and Doomageddon's face was covered in blackberry jam. Doomageddon let out a a groan and fell onto his back. The other villains looked at the fallen Doomageddon in awe and shock. Finally Voltar spoke.
"Perfect! People will fear our plague of pies!"
Red Menace helped Doomageddon clean up and the League Of Super Evil took the wagon and pies and headed out.
"We have our first act ready, now on to the next one." Said Julian as he and Klarion turned their attention to Beastly who was almost done thawing.
Back in the main area of the Grocery Kingdom, Julie and her group had just located the Information Center and were heading towards it, when Sal and Roquefort burst through the entrance waving their weapons in the air.
"Nobody move this is a robbery! Give us all your money and nobody will get hurt!" Shouted Sal.
"We aren't playing around! We are dangerous criminals!" Shouted Roquefort.
The shoppers glanced at the robbers and went back to what they were doing. This only enraged the robbers.
"Hey! What's gives?! We are robbing you here! You should be running, screaming, and giving into our demands!" Yelled Sal waving.
"Yeah! Give us your money or else!" Said Roquefort.
"Or else what exactly? All you two have is a spoon and a plunger." Said a candy person.
Before either Sal or Roquefort could make a reply the League Of Super Evil arrived on the scene with their wagon and pies.
"People of Ooo! The League Of Super Evil has come to rain on your peaceful days with a plague of pies!" Said Voltar holding a pie.
"This place just keeps getting weirder." Thought Julie.
"Hey shorty, go commit evil elsewhere, we already called dibs on this place." Said Sal.
Voltar glared at Sal and threw a pie in his direction. The pie struck Sal and exploded covering both him and Roquefort in blackberry jam. Both criminals groaned and fell to their backs dazed. The shoppers began to scream and run as the League Of Super Evil began to throw pies about. Julie and her friends watched the chaos going on and then Julie sprang into action. She ran to a box of fruit, grabbed an apple, and hurled it with all her might at the wagon full of pies. The apple struck one of the apples hard and set off a chain reaction of explosions destroying all the pies at once and splattering the League Of Super Evil with blackberry jam and knocking all of them to the ground. The crowd stared at Julie in amazement and then they began to clap and cheer for her.
"Um thanks." Said Julie with a tiny bit of embarrassment.
Lila smiled at Julie and then a frown appeared on her face as her nose picked up an odd scent. Valerie detected the scent to and wondered what was going to happen next. Voltar and his group stumbled to their feet and faced Julie.
"How dare you ruin our evil plan! Now you shall feel the wrath of the mighty Voltar!" Declared Voltar.
Julie's eyes went wide in horror, but it wasn't at Voltar, it was at the monstrous form of Beastly stomping in from behind the League Of Super Evil. The villains heard Beastly's stomping and turned to face him. Beastly let out a mighty roar and swung his club at the villains causing them to scream in fear and scatter. The monster turned his attention towards Julie and charged at with his club raised high. Julie was debating jumping out of Beastly's way or attacking the monster with her super strength, when she heard a loud roar from behind and turned to see Lila running to her aid. Lila ran past Julie, jumped through the air, and delivered a powerful punch to Beastly's face making the monster stumble back. Beastly recovered and backhanded Lila to the ground and raised his club high to smash it down on her. Julie charged in and delivered a drop kick to Beastly's face knocking the monster onto it's back in a dazed heap. Before Beastly could recover Valerie in full weredog form jumped onto to him and began to pummel him with all her might before she picked the monster up and threw into a canned food display and scattered cans everywhere. Valerie let out a victory howl before she went over to Julie who was helping Lila up.
"Those girls just took out that wild monster and saved us!" Exclaimed one shopper.
The other shoppers began to cheer and clap for the brave women and their actions. Klarion, Teekl, and Julian then arrived on the scene next to the down form of Beastly. The witch looked down at the dazed monster, before shooting a glare at Julie and her friends.
"You lot really messed up our fun! Unfortunately for you this isn't over. Time for the next round!" Said Klarion as he reached into his pocket and pulled out one of the Beast's turtles.
Julian forced Beastly's mouth open and Klarion dropped the black turtle into it. Beastly swallowed the turtle and Julian release his body as the monster began to transform. Everyone stared at Beastly in shock as his fur turned black, his eyes turned glowing blue, and his body and muscles nearly tripled in size. Klarion, Teekl, and Julian teleported to a higher level of the store as Beastly stood up and let out a roar that shook the store.
"Oh that's not good." Said Julie.
Beastly lunged at the group with incredible speed and swatted the three girls with one of his massive arms and sent them crashing through some store shelves. The crowd started screaming and shouting again as Beastly stomped towards Julie and her down friends. Beastly was almost upon them, when Dakota charged in and tackled Beastly to the ground. The two of them began to wrestle and roll around on the ground, as Sam raced over to Julie and the others and helped them to their feet. Beastly managed to push Dakota off of himself and get to his feet only to have Valerie jump onto his back and attack him with her fangs. Dakota jumped to her feet and charged at Beastly who was stumbling around trying to yank Valerie off of his back. The mutant girl delivered a few powerful punches to Beastly's face and chest making him stagger back. Beastly finally managed to yank Valerie off his back and he hurled her at Dakota knocking them both to the ground. Julie and Lila charged at Beastly, who swiped at them with his arms forcing the girls to jump back. Lila jumped and punched Beastly in the side, as Julie punch him in the gut winding the monster. Dakota then came up from behind Beastly, grabbed him, lifted him high up in the air, and slammed him into the ground! Beastly groaned as Dakota released him and both Julie and Lila jumped in and slammed their fists down on Beastly's gut with all their might. The monster's eyes went wide as he vomited up the turtle and turned back into his original form.
The crowd cheered and clapped for the girls. Valerie changed back into her human form.
"Curses! They ruined all our fun!" Grumbled Klarion before he, Teekl, and Julian vanished in a flash of light.
The girls turned away from the still form of Beastly and were going to get Sam and head to the Information Center. Beastly stumbled back to his feet not quit beaten and charged at the girls to attack them, when a blast of energy from behind hit the monster and froze him in a block of ice. Julie and the others turned to see Patience standing a few yards away from the frozen Beastly. Patience made sure the monster was properly frozen before she turned her attention to the group and walked towards them.
"Hi there! Nice job with beating that monster. Sorry I didn't arrive sooner to help deal with it. My name is Patience." Said Patience as she stopped a few feet away from the group.
"Um...hi. I'm Julie and these are my friends Lila, Valerie, Sam, and Dakota." Said Julie.
"Well I'm just going to guess this is your first time in Ooo. Let me guess you were all frozen or something?" Said Patience eyeing the group.
"Something like that." Said Sam.
"Well a lot happened in the world and things are a lot different now. Lucky for you I know just this place that can give you a roof over your head, some nice warm meals, and people who can better explain Ooo then me and help you find a place in it." Said Patience.
"What's this place called?" Asked Lila.
"The Ice Kingdom. I can take you there if you want." Said Patience.
Julie and her friends exchanged looks and nodded their heads.
"Awesome!" Said Patience.
They all headed outside and Julie and her friends loaded up in their van and followed Patience who took flight and lead the way.
On a different road, the League Of Super Evil was riding around in a stolen golf cart. Red Menace was working the pedals as Voltar sat in his lap and steered. Doktor Fogg and Doomageddon rode in the backseat. Besides the golf cart was Sal and Roquefort riding their motorcycle. The low level villains had formed a shaky alliance and were all heading to join Castle Lemongrab's growing army.
Miles away out at sea, LeChuck's ship was approaching a small island with a strange temple on it. Valeena stood on the helm of the ship along with Frost. The Skull Witch looked at the island with interest, she could sense a great deal of magic from the island and she had a feeling the magic had something to do with the island's sudden appearance in the ocean. Valeena LeChuck to drop anchor before she teleported herself and Frost to the island and they began to make their way to the temple. As they neared the temple a bunch of icicles and fireballs shot down at them from the sky. Frost took out the icicles with some icicles of his own and Valeena took out the fireballs with a blast of fire of her own.
"Please kindly leave our island or you will be destroyed." Said a calm voice from above.
"Who goes there?" Asked Valeena.
Two medium size girls floated down from the sky and hovered before Valeena and Frost. Both girls wore black dresses that covered the bottom half of their faces and black caps. Both of them had floating hands that hovered next to their bodies. One girl had blue mixed in with their black uniform, blue hair, and carried a ax. The other girl had red mixed in with her red uniform, red hair, and carried a sword.
"I am Francisca of the Three Mage-Sisters." Said the girl in blue.
"And I am Flamberge of the Three Mage-Sisters." Said the girl in red.
"Now that we have introduced ourselves, leave the island at once." Said Francisca.
"If you don't we will destroy you." Said Flamberge.
"What is all that racket out there?! I am trying to use this world's magic to raise Void Termina!" Yelled a voice the temple.
Two new figures came out of the temple and joined the others. One was a girl like Francisca and Flamberge, though she had yellow mixed in with her black uniform, blonde hair, and carried a polearm. The other newcomer was much larger figure wearing a white robe that has golden trimmings with ancient symbols printed on them, a white hood that covered their head with gold trimmings with ancient symbols printed on them, and white veil that covers the majority of their face. Two small and yellow eyes peaked out from the hood.
"Big Sister Zan Partizanne! Master Hyness!" Said Francisca and Flamberge bowing to the two newcomers.
The one known as Hyness ignored the two girls and focused his attention on Valeena and Frost.
"Who are you and what are you doing on my island?" Demanded Hyness.
"I am Valeena and this is my companion Frost, we are both members of a powerful organization that plans to rule both this universe and the multiverse. We sensed your incredible power and came to recruit you to our cause. If you agree to help us, we will provide you with aid in raising the one you call Void Termina." Said Valeena.
Hyness was silent for a few moments and then he spoke.
"You have me intrigued. My forces and I shall join you and in return you will help me use this world's magic to raise Void Termina.
"Excellent." Said Valeena with a smile as she finished up the list she had been given.
The Organization was now stronger then ever.
