Chapter 429 Dead Coal 2

Dipper dove out of the ground as Screeching Owl down and barely missed him with his claws. Screeching Owl flew into the air as Dipper scrambled to his feet. Dipper thought about making a run for it, but quickly decided against it. He didn't like the idea of turning his back to the monster and the woods weren't thick enough to slow the monster down in a chase. Dipper had no choice, but the fight the monster and either defeat it or wait for a opening that would allow him to escape. He couldn't afford to die here, he still needed to get back to the others and save them from the creature pretending to be him.
"Alright let's do this!" Thought Dipper to himself as Screeching Owl flew at him agin.
Dipper quickly cast a shield spell in front of himself and Screeching Owl slammed into the star shaped shield and reeled back in pain and confusion. Dipper took this opportunity to turn off his shield and conjure up several balls of light and shoot them at Screeching Owl. The monster nimbly dodged the attacks and struck at Dipper again, who quickly raised his shield. Screeching Owl halted his charge and struck at the shield with his claws, but the shield held under the attack. The monster then flew into the air and then struck at Dipper from behind. Dipper couldn't swerve around in time to raise his shield and he was fixing to feel a great amount of pain from the claws, when a fireball suddenly came flying in and struck Screeching Owl making him cry in pain and fly back.
"Stay away from him!" Yelled Vivian as she flew in on the scene.
Dipper had no idea who Vivian was, but he was glad for the help. Vivian had been searching the nearby area for any signs of the thieves, when she heard the sounds of fighting and saw Dipper being attacked by Screeching Owl and decided to help him.
"Are you alright?" Asked Vivian.
"I am thanks to you." Said Dipper.
Screeching Owl roared and flew at Dipper and Vivian to attack. Vivian threw another fireball at Screeching Owl, but the monster just extinguished it with a mighty gust of wind from his wings, before he sent Vivian crashing to the ground with a swing of his claws. Screeching Owl turned his attention to Dipper and grabbed him by the shirt, before he lifted him into the air and slammed him to the ground. Dipper gasped as the wind was knocked out of him and Screeching Owl raised his claws to finishing him off. Vivian came rushing in from behind and grabbed Screeching Owl's neck pulling on him with all her might. Screeching Owl snarled in anger as he reached behind him and grabbed Vivian pulling her off him. Screeching Owl threw Vivian and she crashed into a tree. He turned his attention back to Dipper and was about to strike him, when a hand landed on his shoulder. Screeching Owl turned around to see Alcor hovering behind him. Alcor gave the monster a small smile before he delivered a punch to the monster's face and sent him flying and crashing a few yards away.
"That showed that oversized bird." Said Alcor dusting his hands off.
"Alcor?" Said Dipper getting to his feet and looking at Alcor.
"Dipper? Is...that you?" Asked Aclor studying Dipper.
"It's me. I got jumped by some kind of shapeshifter and now I look like this." Said Dipper.
"Wouldn't be your first run in with a shapeshifter." Said Alcor.
Screeching Owl got to his feet and let out a screech.
"I'll deal with this guy first, then will talk some more." Said Alcor as he conjured up his cane and faced the monster.
Screeching Owl flew forward swinging his claws at Alcor, who deflected the attacks as he flew backwards. Alcor dodged a claw swing and delivered a punch to Screeching Owl's chest sending the monster flying back. Screeching Owl screeched in rage and charged at Alcor doubling his attack efforts. Alcor backed up and took to the air and Screeching Owl followed him. Screeching Owl flew at Alcor intending to impale him with his claws, but Alcor just kept dodging his attacks with ease and delivered a few small chops and kicks to the monster, which only enraged the monster. Alcor smiled as Screeching Owl became madder and his attacks became sloppy. The moment to end the fight was coming. Alcor dodged another charge from Screeching Owl and he began to channel energy into his cane. Screeching Owl turned to face Alcor and charged at him. Alcor's cane glowed with blue flames as he hurled it at the charging monster. The cane went right through Screeching Owl's chest and out the back!
"Sreeeeeccchhhhhh!" Cried Screeching Owl before he exploded into a burst of black smoke and feathers.
Alcor's cane returned to his hand and he landed on the ground next to Dipper and Vivian who had recovered.
"Now then explain what happened to you." Said Alcor.
"You first. Tell me why you're here." Said Dipper.
"Very well. My friends heard about a trip Laser Wizard plan to Mt. Ebott and we wanted in. We eventually separated from them and we came across a fight between a monster called Fay Soff and another group of monsters lead by a goat woman named Toriel. We defeated Fay Soff and Toriel told us, she and her group were looking for a kid named Isaac, then they told us about meeting your group and Toriel gave some guy named Sans a call and he told her that some of you got separated from the main group and he believed that some of you got sent to Subcon Forest. I took it upon myself to come here and help the ones that were sent to Subcon Forest, while my friends went to help Toriel and her group." Said Alcor.
Dipper took a deep breath and explained how he, Mabel, and their friends ended up in Subcon Forest due to Spirit. Vivian was a little horrified to hear what Spirit had done, but she managed to keep a straight face and a cool composure. Dipper talked about losing his soul to Snatcher and the jobs he and the others had to do to get it back. He talked about Dolly and about getting attacked in the restroom, where he passed out and when he woke up he looked like a shadowy version of himself.
"Well it sounds like you've been through a lot." Said Alcor.
"Yeah and if you excuse me, I have to find the others and stop that imposter before he hurts anyone and steals their identity." Said Dipper as he turned around and began to walk away.
"Then I shall accompany you." Said Alcor.
"Yeah no thanks. I don't need your help and I don't think you accompanying me is going to help convince my sister and friends that I'm the real me." Said Dipper.
"Oh come now don't be that way. I'm here to help you. I literally just saved you from that bird monster." Said Alcor.
"That could have easily been staged in order to gain my trust, you're created from my and Bill's DNA, it wouldn't be that hard for someone like you to come up with a plan to deceive me and use your powers to create a monster to help set this whole thing up." Said Dipper.
"I suppose given my background and origin I can't really blaming for thinking that, but I assure you that I am here to help you and the others and that's it. I have no alternative motives." Said Alcor.
"Fine, I suppose you can come and help, but if you try any funny business I'm taking you down hard." Said Dipper as his hands crackled with magic.
"Fine by me." Said Alcor.
"Um excuse me." Said Vivian getting their attention.
"Oh I forgot about you. Sorry about that." Said Dipper.
"That's ok. My name is Vivian." Said Vivian.
"I'm Dipper. And that's Alcor." Said Dipper.
"Nice to meet you. I couldn't help, but overhear your plight and I wish to help. I think I might know who the imposter is." Said Vivian.
"You do?" Asked Dipper.
"Well I don't know him personally, but I've heard of him. He goes by the name Doopliss." Said Vivian.
"Doopliss huh? Well at least we have a name to go with the creep. Thanks Vivian." Said Dipper.
"You're welcome." Said Vivian.
With Dipper leading the way the trio headed off to find Mabel and the others.

In Snowdin village it was complete chaos with various factions fighting against an army of the undead. Things got even more chaotic when Crump and his forces arrived on the scene and joined in on the battle. Bug warriors of the Legion of Light swung their blades at the undead monsters, but the undead proved to be very persistent and hard to kill. Every undead the bug warriors managed to take down two or three more would pop up to take their place and the bug warriors would get overwhelmed by them and killed. Luminous saw that his foot soldiers were taking a beating and ordered the remaining bug warriors to group and join with him, Mr. Shine, Mr. Bright, and Sratos. The soldiers did as they were told and they soon had a steady defense against the undead horde and the X-Nauts.
Loke was punching the heads off of undead monsters, when a few undead Deerclops arrived on the scene and tried to blast him with ice spikes only to have their attacks and bodies destroyed by a few fireballs hurled from Viper and Phoebe. Loke gave the fiery warriors a thumbs up before he went back to punching the undead.
Ford and Stan fought alongside the six wizard police officers, the Eliminator, Giffany, Brain Wiz, and Huntress Wizard. Necromancer sprouted grey bat wings and flew by overhead and Brain Wiz quickly deduced that he was one of the beings behind the undead horde and that if he was removed from battle then the battle would be much easier. Brain Wiz quickly ordered his comrades to fire at Necromancer and take him out. Huntress Wizard fired some, the wizard police fired magic blasts from their wands, and the Eliminator fired his lasers. Necromancer flew and dodged the attacks before firing burst of magical lighting from his curved sword forcing Brain Wiz and the others to scatter to avoid being hit. Giffany activated some rockets in her feet to fly up into the air and delivered a punch to Necromancer's face sending him crashing down into a food stand smashing it to bits.
"We got him!" Said Stan.
Necromancer burst from the remains of the stand looking angry.
"Never mind." Said Stan.
Necromancer shot some lightning from his sword and used it to grab the Eliminator before he smashed the large into Giffany knocking the two of them to the ground. Huntress Wizard fired a few arrows at Necromancer, but he sliced them to bits with his sword. Necromancer advanced forward, but Finn came leaping in from above forcing Necromancer to leap back to avoid getting hit. Finn chased after Necromancer who took flight, forcing the teenager to go after him.
Sans and Papyrus found themselves working and fighting alongside Endol and Merak. Papyrus tripped enemies with his bones and Endol blasted them with lightning from his claws. Sans would occasionally fire some bones of his own and Merak would occasionally fire some energy blast from his throne's robot arms or punch enemies with his metal fist. Merak and Sans were actually more powerful then they appeared to be, they were both just lazy and didn't want to show their power and skills unless they had to. The little foursome kept fighting, until they came across Ruxxtin riding the Pugalisk.
"Well. Well. Looks like we have some troublemakers. Congratulations! You all will be the first to die at the hands of the great Ruxxtin the Ruthless!" Declared Ruxxtin.
"Blast to dust!" Laughed Ruxxtin's staff.
"Whoa! His got a talking staff!" Said Papyrus in amazement.
"That's something you don't see everyday." Said Sans.
Ruxxtin fired a burst of green energy forcing everyone to dodge out of the way. The Pugalisk charged forward swinging it's tail and slammed it into Endol sending him flying back and crashing to the ground. Endol groaned as he stumbled to his feet and fired a burst of lightning at Ruxxtin and the Pugalisk. Ruxxtin teleported off of the Pugalisk and the undead monster took the blow.
"Where did he go?" Said Endol looking for Ruxxtin.
"Right behind you!" Said Ruxxtin as he appeared behind Endol.
"Zapping time!" Said Staff as Ruxxtin fired a blast from him and hit Endol in the back.
Endol yelled as he was sent flying and crashed into Papyrus knocking them both to the ground. Ruxxtin laughed and did a victory dance and Sans just glared at him.
"No one messes with my brother." Said Sans as he waved his righthand and several bones burst out of the ground in front of Ruxxtin.
Ruxxtin teleported away and reappeared behind Sans intending to attack him from behind, but Sans easily sidestepped his attack and turned to face Ruxxtin firing more bones at him and his staff knocking them both to the ground. The villain scrambled to his feet calling for the undead and X-Nauts to come to his aid and assist him. Several undead and a few X-Nauts came to Ruxxtin's aid and rushed at Sans. Sans fired some bones and took out all the enemies with ease. Ruxxtin teleported again and reappeared behind Sans to try and blast him again.
"Let's see you dodge this!" Yelled Ruxxtin.
"Ok then." Said Sans as he suddenly teleported and reappeared behind Ruxxtin.
"WHAT?!" Cried Ruxxtin in alarm.
"This isn't going to end..." Said Staff.
Sans had some bones shoot out of the ground beneath Ruxxtin's feet sending him flying high into the air. Ruxxtin crashed to the ground and then he staggered to his feet. He looked over at the undead Pugalisk and teleported to the top of it's head.
"Let's see how you deal with this!" Yelled Ruxxtin as he waved his staff forward and the Pugalisk charged forward.
"Looks like I need to get a little serious." Said Merak as he conjured a portal up in front of himself and punched the right arm of his robotic throne through it.
A large portal opened up between Sans and the charging Pugalisk and a giant version of Merak's robotic fist shot out and struck the Pugalisk knocking it to the ground and pinning Ruxxtin beneath it. The fist retracted through the portal and it vanished. Sans looked over at Merak and gave him a nod of thanks and a thumbs up, before he turned his attention back to Ruxxtin who was desperately trying to pull himself out from beneath the Pugalisk.
"Time for you to get dunked on! Taste my Gaster Blaster!" Said Sans as he pointed his hand up in the air.
A giant goat skull appeared floating in the air above Ruxxtin and the Pugalisk. The skull's mouth opened up and energy began to quickly form. Ruxxtin managed to pull himself out form beneath the Pugalisk as the skull fired a massive and powerful beam of energy. The attack struck the Pugalisk blowing it to bits and sent Ruxxtin rolling and tumbling across the ground. Ruxxtin staggered to his feet, only to have Staff knocked from his hand by a bone fired by Sans. The Staff skidded a few yards away from Ruxxtin and stopped. Ruxxtin looked over at Sans, who had the Gaster Blaster pointing at him now.
"I surrender!" Cried Ruxxtin as he dropped to his hands and knees.
"Well that was easy." Said Sans.
"What?! Ruxxtin what are you doing?! Run over here and pick me up! We can still turn this around and win!" Yelled Staff.
"Sorry Staff, but it's a no go. This whole being evil thing isn't really working out for me." Said Ruxxtin.
"Fine! I don't need you! I can be evil all on my own!" Yelled Staff.
"Good luck with that since you don't have any limbs to get about on your own." Said Ruxxtin.
"Crap...that's right." Said Staff.
"Alright Staff, here's the deal. I promise not to turn you into firewood and toothpicks, if you use your powers to get rid of the undead you made." Said Sans as he went over to Staff and picked him up.
"Fine." Grumbled Staff as Sans waved him in the air.
A good portion of the undead horde stopped moving and collapsed to the ground dead.
"Well that takes care of some of our problems." Said Sans.
"That was incredible bro!" Cheered Papyrus as he ran over to Sans.
"Good to see you back on your feet bro." Said Sans.
"I hate my life." Grumbled Staff.
Locke was fighting with a spear and making his way through the undead and X-Nauts towards NecroDancer, who stood at the back of his forces playing his golden lute. The young hero figured if he took out NecroDancer then a vast amount the undead would return to being dead and then, he and the other heroes could get back to finding Gata and their other missing friends. Locke took down a few more undead, when Crump suddenly appeared and punched him in the face sending him reeling back.
"I don't know who you and your friends are boy, but you're not putting a stop to our plans." Declared Crump as he grabbed Locke's spear and tried to yank it away from him.
Locke refused to let go of the spear and he and Crump wrestled with it. After several seconds Locke decided to take a different approach and fired a glob of ink from his mouth into Crump's face. The ink splattered onto Crump's googles making him let go and reel back as he wiped furiously at the googles trying to get the ink off. Locke slapped Crump across the back with the flat of his spear knocking the villain to the ground. He then bounced off Crump's back and continued fighting his way towards NecroDancer.
Jake fought his way through hordes of enemies, until he came face to face with the towering figure of Old King Coal.
"I'm going to smash you to bits!" Declared Jake before he enlarged his right fist and used his stretching powers to punch Old King Coal in the face.
Jake immediately regretted his actions. Not only was Old King Coal a lot sturdier and harder then he looked, he was also very hot! Jake cried out in pain as he retracted his arm and turned his fist back to it's normal size before stuffing it into his mouth to cool it down.
"Foolish dog!" Laughed Old King Coal as Necromancer suddenly appeared by his side.
"You alright Jake?" Asked Finn as he appeared by his brother's side.
"I'm ok. Dumb coal monster." Said Jake.
"Why don't you go deal with some other enemies. I'll deal with this jerk. I got a secret weapon that should do the job." Said Finn putting up his sword and cracking his knuckles.
"Cool with me." Said Jake as he went to go fight some other enemies.
"Do you honestly think you can beat the mighty Old King Coal?" Said Old King Coal.
"Oh I know I can. You're about to taste the Art of Fridjitzu!" Said Finn before he did several hand signs and conjured up a very large ice shuriken.
Finn channeled his Olympian Power into the shuriken and hurled it at Old King Coal. The star sliced Old King Coal's left arm off and burst into a cloud of snowflakes. Old King Coal stared down at his dismembered limb in shock and anger as it crumbled to bits. He looked up at Finn and let out an angry roar.
"I don't need that arm to kill you!"
Old King Coal used his heating powers to heat up the coal beneath Finn's feet forcing him to jump onto the roof of a nearby roof to avoid getting burned. Necromancer flew at Finn firing lightning from his sword forcing Finn to jump from rooftop to rooftop to avoid getting hit. Old King Coal let out a roar as he chased after Finn and Necromancer.
Jake took down several more undead and X-Nauts, before he saw Locke making his way to NecroDancer and decided to lend him a hand. He smashed some more undead as he made his way to NecroDancer.
"Alright creep shows over!" Said Jake as he advanced towards NecroDancer.
"You can not stop me dog! I am the NecroDancer! I am the conductor of chaos and no one can stop my orchestra of oblivion!" Declared NecroDancer as he unleashed a shockwave of energy from his lute.
The shockwave slammed into Jake knocking him to the ground. Jake quickly hopped to his feet and threw a stretchy punch at NecroDancer, who dodged out of the way and hurled a few fireballs at Jake forcing him to jump to the side to avoid getting hit. NecroDancer unleashed another shockwave that forced to jump high into the air to avoid.
"You are an amusing creature dog, but it's clear you can't beat me by yourself." Said NecroDancer as he prepared to fire more attacks.
"It's a good thing I'm not alone." Said Jake.
NecroDancer looked at Jake in confusion and then he let out a sharp gasp of shock as Locke ran his spear through the villain's back and chest! NecroDancer looked down at the spear sticking out of his chest and before he could think about using his magic lute to heal himself and attack Locke, Jake grabbed the lute and pulled it from the villain's hand and leaped far away from him. Jake watched as NecroDancer feebly struggled and reached for the lute as his eyes began to lose their brightness.
"It's...finally over. The music...is gone. That...blasted instrument was...a curse." Whispered NecroDancer before he finally died and went limp.
Several of the undead collapsed to the ground dead once more.
"I wonder what he was talking about?" Said Loke to himself as he pulled his spear out of the dead villain.
"Yeah! We stopped a big bad and I got this awesome golden lute!" Cheered Jake as he played a few strings on his new instrument.
Locke just shrugged his shoulders and went to fight the remaining undead, failing to see a brief red glow in Jake's eyes as he played the golden lute.
Cinder flew in the air above with Beldam and Marilyn floating by her side. The pyromaniac opened her big mouth and unleashed a blast of fire setting the street and a few buildings on fire. Cinder laughed insanely at the destruction and then she saw a fleeing family of monsters and decided she was going to reduce them to ashes. She unleashed a mighty blast of fire at the monsters and just when it seemed like they were doomed, Phoebe appeared before them and sliced the attack in half with a flaming sword. The monster family thanked their rescuer and took off running. Phoebe put away her sword and faced Cinder and the two Shadow Sirens.
"What is your problem? You're hurting people who have done nothing to you!" Said Phoebe.
"I kill whoever I want! Whenever I want! The weak die and the strong survive! That is the rule of the universe!" Declared Cinder with a twisted grin.
"Another murderous psycho. Fine then, will play by your rules. Let's go!" Said Phoebe as she took up a fighting stance.
Cinder took a deep breath and unleashed a massive blasts of flames that hit Phoebe. The flames didn't hurt Phoebe, but the force behind them was pressing down hard on her body pressing her back and into the ground, which was beginning to bubble and melt around her. Phoebe gritted her teeth and tapped into her inner fire and began to push her way through the attack. Cinder's eyes widen in shock as she saw a form making it's way through her flames towards her. Phoebe burst from the flames and delivered an uppercut to Cinder's chin forcing her mouth close and knocking a few of her teeth out as she flew backwards and crashed onto the roof of a nearby building.
"How dare you strike Lady Cinder!" Yelled Beldam as she prepared to attack Phoebe from behind with ice.
Marilyn prepared to attack Phoebe with lightning magic, but before either Shadow Siren could attack, Viper arrived on the scene and fired a few fireballs at them striking the two villains and sent them crashing to the ground. Phoebe nodded thanks to Viper and turned her attention back to Cinder. Cinder got to her feet and rocketed towards Phoebe firing fireballs at her. Phoebe deflected the fireballs and fired some fireballs of her own at Cinder forcing her to dodge to avoid them. The two fire users circled each other as they fired fire attacks at one another.
Finn continued to dodge lightning attacks from Necromancer as Old King Coal stomped after them. The young hero was doing a good job of avoiding the attacks, but he was running out of roof to jump to. Finn landed on the last of the roof and turned to face Necromancer as he prepared to fire another blast of lightning, when Huntress Wizard appeared on another roof and fired a arrow at Necromancer. The arrow struck Necromancer and exploded sending the villain crashing to the ground. Finn gave Huntress Wizard a thumbs up and prepared another ice shuriken for the rampaging Old King Coal. He threw it and it sliced off Old King Coal's right arm.
"I don't need arms to beat you!" Yelled Old King Coal.
Finn threw another big ice shuriken and it sliced off Old King Coal's head leaving him with nothing, but his torso and legs. The head crumble to bits.
"Perhaps we should sit down and talk about this..." Said Old King Coal.
"How can you still talk without a head?" Asked Finn.
"Oh we are not giving up! If you won't fight for me, then I'll simply just absorb your power and use it myself!" Said Cinder before she flew down and landed on Old King Coal's torso.
Finn and Phoebe watched as Cinder began to draw power and heat from Old King Coal's body. Cinder opened her mouth and a massive fireball began to form.
"Prepare to die!" Roared Cinder as the fireball flew towards Finn and Phoebe.
Phoebe activated her holly flames and she rushed at the oncoming fireball. She gritted her teeth as she plowed through it and headed towards Cinder and Old King Coal.
"Impossible!" Screamed Cinder in fear.
Phoebe plowed through Cinder's large mouth and out the back. Cinder and Old King Coal exploded. Phoebe turned back to her normal form and gave Finn a thumbs up.
"Cinder has be vanquished! Everyone retreat!" Yelled Beldam.
All the X-Nauts began to flee the scene, along with Beldam, Marilyn, and Crump. From the shadows of an alleyway Necromancer saw the fight was lost. He turned all the remaining undead back to being dead to help fool the enemy that he was dead and snuck out of the village, where he came across the corpse of NecroDancer. Necromancer studied the body of his deceased comrade and decided it might be still useful, so he took the body and headed into the woods vowing revenge on the heroes.
In the village all the villagers had gathered around their rescuers and were clapping and cheering. Luminous looked at Phoebe with interest.
"One of the sisters has been killed, by that girl of fire. Big changes are coming to the Underground. I can use these newcomers to cast out all the shadows and bring a glorious age of light to the Underground." Thought Luminous with a grin.
Big changes were coming to the Underground and it's inhabitants.
