Chapter 455 Hotland Heat Up

Over in Hotland, Pollution had lead Jordan and Blockner's group to where the Nuclear Throne was buried and sealed. Jordan ordered his diggers and demolition team to get started on digging and breaking the Nuclear Throne out. Shovel Knight and Black Knight went to work with their shovels, Mole Knight dug with his claws, Plague Knight aided the others by placing some of his bombs in the holes that were dug, and Tinker Knight helped figure out which places were best to dig and plant explosives. It was hard work, but the team made good progress.
Blockner decided to help by calling in a mercenary named Jack that owed him a favor and specialized in demolition. Some time after Blockner made the call Jack arrived on the scene. Jack was a large living orange and grey jackhammer. He had an orange head with a purple and green metal Mohawk and a grey metal lower jaw with jagged teeth sticking out. Jack had one red right eye, while his left eye was gone and replaced with a black X with a sword sticking through it. He had a pressure gauge sticking up on the left side of his head along with a bone handle power cord.
Jack joined in by hammering at the rock and the vault that contained the Nuclear Throne. It was only a matter of time before the villains unleashed the deadly weapon.
In another part of Hotland, Six armed with Ruxxtin's Staff was leading Luminous, Mr. Bright, and Mr. Shine to where the Hollow Knight was being kept. Once they found the Hollow Knight and killed him, they would free the Radiance and with her power the Legion of Light would destroy the Shadow Queen and her forces and then they would purge all darkness and evil from the multiverse.
Six led the group down a crevice that led to a river of lava and some rocky platforms. The group traveled from platform to platform, until they saw a large platform near the wall and a strong looking door in the wall. That had to be the entrance that lead to the chamber the Hollow Knight was kept. Luminous was about to order his forces forward, when the lava in front of the door began to bubble and a enormous being rose out of it. The newcomer appeared to be a large red dragon with yellow horns and scales that looked like bullet casings. Dragon had two large wings, fierce looking claws, and a nose that resembled a gun barrel.
"I am the High Dragun! I have been tasked by Ballos the wizard to guard the Hollow Knight and make sure the Radiance remains locked up." Boomed the dragon as he glared down at Luminous and his team.
"Hear me High Dragun! We the Legion of Light shall free the Radiance! Either step aside or die!" Said Luminous.
"Bold words from an ant! If you wish to die, I shall grant you, your request!" Said the High Dragun.
Luminous fired a beam of light energy at the High Dragun. Mr. Bright fired fireballs, Mr. Shine fired crescent shaped moon blasts, and Six fired a energy blast from Ruxxtin's Staff. The attacks hit the High Dragun and exploded creating a cloud of smoke, but when the smoke cleared the High Dragun stood before the group looking unharmed and unfazed.
"Fools!" Boomed the High Dragun as it unleashed a blast of fire from it's mouth forcing everyone to jump to the side to avoid getting hit.
Luminous fired a stronger beam of light energy and struck the High Dragun in the face knocking it back a little. The High Dragun turned to face Luminous and fired bullets of red energy from it's nose at him. Luminous cried out in surprise as he barely dodged out of the way. Mr. Bright, M. Shine, and Six attacked, but their attacks did very little damage to the High Dragun. Luminous gritted his teeth in anger. The fight was not in his team's favor. They lacked the power and numbers to deal with someone like the High Dragun.
"Retreat!" Ordered Luminous to his comrades.
The little group turned and fled from the scene.
"That's right flee you cowards! And don't come back unless you want to die!" Called the High Dragun.
Luminous and his allies left the crevice and sat on some rocks to rest and plan their next move. Luminous eventually decided that they needed to regroup with the rest of the Legion of Light in Waterfall and prehapse bring in some other allies and higher a few mercenaries to help take down the High Dragun. After resting the group headed on back to Waterfall.
Over at the Doctor's lair the Doctor with the aid of Furi had grounded up several red flowers into a fine powder and was combining that powder with some other chemicals to form a red crystal to help with his experiments. The Doctor then decided it was time to enhance one of his elite soldiers and summoned Serpentine to remove his robotic limbs and armor. Serpentine did as he was instructed and the Doctor fed him some red flowers. The snake creature's eyes turned bright red and his tiny body grew in both size and strength. The Doctor smiled at his enhanced minion and went about constructing some new armor and limbs to fit him, as he made a mental note to test the red crystal on Mom.
In another part of Hotland, Laser Wizard's team along with Gnarl and the Minions had arrived and had began digging around the area looking for leads on Horror's Hand or any magical items of power that could be of use to them.
At the Coliseum of Fools, Hoaxe sat on his throne as he listened to a wasp servant report on the tournament that would have a fighter challenge Carrera and the Sibling Showdown. Carrera himself sat nearby with some guards guarding the trophy that had the crystal star on it. Hoaxe wasn't going to take any chances with Jota and the Axem Rangers around.
Carrera was currently powered down and out of his armor. He was young adult with orange eyes and short, white-blonde hair, with one massive cowlick protruding from the front. Carrera wore a unique black and orange uniform jacket with tailcoats. He also wore white baggy trousers and brown boots.
Carrera listen to hear who was fighting in both tournaments.
"Well Lord Hoaxe we have a nice lineup so far. In the regular tournament we have Axem Black of the Axem Rangers, Excaliboar the self proclaimed immortal warrior, Klungo the potion seller, Oktarus an ice warrior, Yoko a monkey with psychic powers, and Nightshade a fierce cyborg bounty hunter. We currently need two more fighters to even things out and then we can pair the fighters up and start the tournament, though it is taking a little longer then we anticipated." Said the servant.
"What about the Sibling Showdown?" Asked Hoaxe.
"We have a large number of teams joined up. There's the Rhinocebros Snapback and Flatbrim, the cyclops bodybuilder brothers Colos and Suses, the boxing frogs Rippy and Croaks, the Komodo Brothers Joe and Moe, the Nailmaster Brothers Oro & Mato, the Onion Brothers Big O and Small O, the skeleton brothers Sans and Papyrus, the elemental felines Frost Tiger and Fire Leo, the Twin Orcs Maxine and Macie, the Leiana Sisters Leiana Black and Leiana White, and the Unbread Twins Doughie and her brother Biscuit." Said the servant.
"A good lineup. It'll be a glorious fight to see. Will wait to see if anyone else signs up." Said Hoaxe.
"Yes sir." Said the servant.
A few miles away Crow in the damaged Death Pod had returned to the Sovereign. The villain landed his pod and exited it with a huff. The recent encounter and fight with Mack had left a bad and bitter taste in Crow's mouth. He vowed revenge on his enemy and he was going to the hero that he was a serious threat. Crow turned his attention to the nearly constructed Doom Howitzer. Once he had the princesses captured Crow would be able to power up the doomsday device and then nobody would stop him. Crow let out an evil laugh, unaware that Becky was watching him from a distance with a small sly smile on her face. Crow didn't know it, but his most trusted minion was going to be his most dangerous enemy.
