Chapter 462 Twisted Time 2

For several seconds Bubblegum just stare at the ruins of the Candy Kingdom. The kingdom that Bubblegum had worked so hard to build and protect for hundreds of years was gone! Bubblegum immediately began to wonder and fear about what became of her family and subjects. She realized that if she wanted answers she was going have to go down to the kingdom and get a closer look at it. Maybe the ruins could give her a hint of how far into the future Bubblegum had been sent or what happened to her family and people. Bubblegum took a deep breath and traveled down to the kingdom.

Getting into the kingdom was fairly easy since the west wall was destroyed. Bubblegum enter the grounds and began to explore her former home. It was strange and disturbing to see the once colorful and lively Candy Kingdom reduced to a hollow and lifeless shell of it's former self. The streets were deserted, the buildings were crumbling, and the plants including the giant tree in the center of the kingdom were blackened and dead. The castle itself had multiple holes and scorch marks on it. Bubblegum walked towards the palace and then she came across the dead bodies of a couple of Candy People! One chocolate bar and one candy cane person. Bubblegum felt herself go pale as she went over to inspect the candy cane person, but as soon as Bubblegum touched the body it crumbled to dust!

"Aaaaaaaaaaa!" Cried Bubblegum in alarm as she leaped back from the remains.

Bubblegum's mind began to go into overdrive as it began to do a little math. It took a fair amount of time for candy to degrade and crumble to dust from merely a simple touch. Bubblegum began to horribly realize she had been sent a great number of years into the future. She then rushed into the castle in hopes she could find some clue that both husband and son were ok and still alive somewhere else. Both Braco and Neddy were Candy People like Bubblegum, so they had long life spans like her, so there was a possibility that they were still alive. There was also the numerous security protocols and escape plans Bubblegum had made over the years to protect her family and keep them safe.

Bubblegum enter the palace and pulled out a small flashlight to see inside. The inside was a complete mess and it looked like a battle had happened. Furniture was destroyed, the walls, floors, and celling had scorched marks, there were a dead bodies scattered about, and several family photos and portraits were vandalized. Bubblegum saw a picture of herself that had devil horns drawn on it along with a slasher smile and a bloodstained knife. The Candy monarch let out a shudder as she made her way down to her lab to see if she could find any equipment that could possibly help her.

The lab was a wreck, most of the equipment was either gone or destroyed. The scene reminded Bubblegum about the time Marceline had wrecked her lab in retaliation for the Cooler Incident and for betraying Phoebe. Bubblegum let out a sad sigh at the sight of her destroyed work.

"It's ok Bubblegum. You can either rebuild all this or you can just return to your correct time period where everything is fully functional. Your main objectives are to find your family to make sure there alright and figure out a way to return to your time." Said Bubblegum to herself.

Bubblegum left the lab and began to explore the palace, until she came across a Robotic Extermination Device or R.E.D. for short and four Mobile Optimal Neural Quotient Infiltrators or M.O.N.Q.I.s for short. Bubblegum recognized the robots as Gumbald's creations and immediately took off running with the robots in fast pursuit. She managed to make it outside the palace and nearly ran into the towering form of a Safety Bot. The candy ruler was both surprised and pleased to see one of her creations and lifted her watch up to her mouth to give a command.

"Safety Bot eliminate my pursers."

The Safety Bot pointed it's arm at Bubblegum instead of at the robots. Bubblegum blinked her eyes in surprise at this and noticed that the Safety Bot's eyes were red. The Safety Bot fired a strand of bubble wrap that wrapped itself around Bubblegum preventing her from moving or escaping. The big robot reeled the strand in and held the restrained Bubblegum in it's hand. The Safety Bot activated it's rockets and flew into the sky followed by the other robots.

The robots and their captive flew for over an hour before they came across a massive walled city with different kinds of buildings and architect scattered about. Bubblegum could see dozens of Safety Bots on the walls along with R.E.D.s and M.O.N.Q.I.s alongside them. The city was full of dinosaurs, cheese ninjas, bears, Pistachions, Puckerberries, spiders, ants, rats, worms, fairies, gnomes, monkeys, puppets, bugbears, Earclopses, Blood Monks, Nagas, candy criminals, hooligans, slider guys, Frogmen, Walrusies, and various other beings that were allied with King and Gumbald. Bubblegum was also surprised to see lizard people, farming villagers, Breakfast People and turtle people scattered around the city.

The Safety Bot flew towards a massive palace that was three times the size of the Candy Kingdom's palace. The palace resembled a massive pink and purple cake with white frosting staked like a pyramid. The Safety Bot landed on a platform on one of the lower levels of the palace and a floating robot that appeared to be a video camera appeared and began to send a live video feed to every tv screen in the city getting everyone's attention. The Safety Bot lowered Bubblegum to the ground where she was grabbed by a couple of Gumbald's cake soldiers and held up as Bebe waltzed out of the palace with a big grin on her face and wearing a tight purple jumpsuit.

"Hello cousin. It's been a very long time since anyone last saw you. My father has been expecting you." Said Bebe as she nodded to the palace.

Gumbald walked out of the palace wearing fancy purple pants, shoes, shirt, and cape along with a fancy gold helmet and gauntlets. The helmet and the gauntlets each had a blue gemstone in them. Gumbald had a big grin on his face as he strolled towards Bubblegum with a confident swagger. He stopped a few feet from Bubblegum and then he spoke.

"Hello niece and welcome to Gumbaldia the greatest place on Earth. It is a utopia where I have united several races and I rule as a beloved Emperor." Said Gumbald.

"What did you do to the Candy Kingdom?" Demanded Bubblegum.

"Oh nothing at all. That was the result of your doing. You angered the Fire Kingdom with your actions and when you never showed up for your trial they attacked the Candy Kingdom. I may have provided some assistance in dealing with some of it's defenses, but I did save a fair number of the Candy People after I got them to denounce you and your husband and got them to take me as their new leader. Those who didn't are either dead or in hiding." Said Gumbald.

"You prevented me from going to the trial and doomed the Candy Kingdom!" Screamed Bubblegum.

Gumbald ignored her and turned to the camera bot.

"People of Gumbaldia! My wretched niece as returned to Ooo just like I predicted. I now plan to have her executed in a couple of hours for you all to see. Once that is done our future will be completely secured." Said Gumbald.

The people of Gumbaldia cheered as Gumbald headed back into the palace followed by his guards, Bubblegum, and Bebe. The group walked down a hallway and a gold and purple hover throne appeared before them. Gumbald headed over to the throne and sat in it facing the others.

"I have to tell you, I've waited for this day a very long time." Said Gumbald looking at Bubblegum.

"How far into the future did you send me?" Asked Bubblegum with a glare.

"Well you robbed me of eight hundred years of my life, so I thought I'd return the favor. Fair is fair." Said Gumbald.

"Eight hundred years!" Cried Bubblegum in alarm.

"That's right. Now on to another topic. What do you think of my helmet and gauntlets?" Said Gumbald.

"Are they some kind of new technology?" Asked Bubblegum studying the items.

"No. Actually these are ancient magical items of great power. They're called the Gems of Cronus. You see a long time ago there was a Titan named Cronus who created these gems and the armor to control time and reality. The gem in the helmet is called The Eye of Cronus it gave Cronus the ability to focus his vision of universal time. The gems in the gauntlets are called the Fist of Might and Ability they gave Cronus the power to grasp the cosmic essence and mold it to his liking. With these gems Cronus ruled the heavens and shaped the universe into his ideal vision, but due to that great power of the gems, Cronus went mad with power and paranoia, and nearly destroyed everything, had it not been for his son, Zeus, who then defeated him. Cronus was then stripped of the Gems and they were cast down to Earth in order to keep them out of his deranged hands. Some associates of mine found the gems and armor and gave them to me. I combined them with the Timenado and I've used them to help create Gumbaldia. Admittedly due to not being a Titan or God I can't quite handle or use the full power of the gems, but I've made great progress so far. And with your soon to be execution my future will be secure." Said Gumbald.

"I don't care what kind of power you have! I'm not going to let you get away with this! I'll return to my own time and prevent you from rising up and obtaining this power!" Declared Bubblegum.

"Bold words, but I'm afraid time and the odds are on my side." Said Gumbald with a smile.

The guards began to drag Bubblegum to the dungeon as Gumbald and Bebe began to make plans for Bubblegum's execution.
