Raid! 'Tin-Plate' Wapol and 'Mushroom-Bomb' Musshuru
Somewhere at sea
At the girl's room, Anna, Sanji, and Vivi are checking Nami's temperature which it's going up and it's starting to grow worse. Vivi couldn't help but worry along with Anna and Sanji, knew that placing a wet towel on her forehead won't help, but only reducing the temperature since it's more than that because of Ventus' explanation of the bug bite.
"She needs medical attention as quickly as possible. At this rate, she won't last much longer." Vivi said with concern, watching Nami panting.
At the ship, Zoro and Ventus manage to find something at the sea, but it's something that they're not expecting.
"Hey!" Zoro called them, earned Usopp and Luffy's attention.
"See any doctors yet?!" Luffy shouts with a question.
"Luffy, you can't be serious." Usopp said with annoyance.
"He's not, he's just acting like an idiot." Ventus stated with annoyance.
"Guys, you think people, um...can stand on top of the ocean?" Zoro questions, looking at a figure standing on the ocean.
"What? Do I think it's possible?" Luffy asked in confusion.
"What kind of question is that? It's impossible of course." Usopp points out, raising his eyebrow.
"Yeah? So, what's that?" Zoro counters with a question.
"What's what?" Luffy asks, looking at the figure.
"Say what?" Usopp also asks, looking at the figure.
They see a man who is a bit taller than average. He has a wavy lips and a sad expression. He wears a checkered jester like green-blue costume with purple lining at the end of the sleeves, a white winter cape with purple lining that he ties against his chest, and grey buttons with a light brown bow and a bag of arrows on his back. He has dark green pants and blue shoes with white buckles.
Luffy and Usopp are starting to rub their eyes while Zoro look at the figure in confusion, wondering how he was able to stand at the top of the ocean. Ventus however, looked at him with a deep scowl, recognize who he is.
'So, Chess, you, Kuromarimo, Wapol, and Musshuru had the nerve to show your face and planning to return to the island.' Ventus mentally thought, growling at Chess with pure hatred.
The atmosphere is starting to grew a bit awkward when Usopp, Luffy, Zoro, and Chess are staring while not saying a word. The silent breaks when Chess first spoke.
"Hello, sure is chilly today." Chess shouts as Usopp and Luffy sneezes.
Zoro of course is feeling cold since covering himself in blanket while getting covered in snow isn't helping. Ventus is still warming himself up with his heat inside of his body due to the dragon traits which its helping him. Usopp and Luffy then sneezed again as they spoke.
"Yeah, it is chilly today." Luffy agrees.
"Definitely, it's very chilly. In fact, I would even say it's freezing." Usopp added.
"Really?" Chess asks curiously, making Luffy, Usopp, and Zoro flinched as well as himself.
Again, the atmosphere is awkward when they stare each other while Ventus look at Chess, still glaring at him.
"INCREASE BUOYANCY!?" The voice shouts with an order.
Suddenly, the ship quickly merge out of the water, causing the tides to push the Going Merry and Usopp falling down to the deck. Ventus is holding the wooden rail with his strength along with Ivan, who is holding on the wooden rail.
"What is that thing?! A watermelon?!" Luffy shouts with a question, holding the wooden rail.
Inside of the girl's room, Vivi, Anna, and Sanji felt something is shaking the ship and the chef is holding Nami and the bed.
"Why are we shaking?!" Vivi asked with her eyes widen.
"What's happening out here?!" Anna shouts seriously.
"Hold the rudder steady!" Sanji shouts with an order. "If anything happens to Nami, I'll hold every one of you responsible!"
Shanise is trying to hold the rudder steady, and Ivan is given her a hand by holding the helm as soon as the tide stops, and the ship is revealed to be a large round metallic ship, different than most regular ships. It has a large steel plating around the ship with a star like patterns. Two large gears are seen towards the side of the ship.
"What the hell is that? Is that a ship?" Zoro muttered with a question.
The metallic plating starts lowering down while the hippopotamus/White Walkie figurehead rises up out of the water, revealed itself. The Jolly Roger revealed to be a skull with round metallic jaw licking its own lips and wearing a large crown, as well as the standard crossbones located behind it.
"Oh crap! It's a pirate ship!" Usopp shouts with fright.
"It's huge." Luffy exclaims with his mouth wide open.
"Great, just when we needed to hurry." Zoro scoffed with a scowl.
"Damn, Wapol and Musshuru revealed themselves." Ventus growled with venomous tone.
"MAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What's the matter?! Don't tell me underwater range ship 'Tin-Tyrant' surprised you?!" The man named Wapol shouts with a laugh.
"Oh no, brother! They're just too scared of our ship!" The man named Musshuru told him with an arrogant smug, revealed next to him. "With this ship, those pirates and the marines are fearing us!"
Wapol is an overweight man with an unusual appearance. He has dark violet hair and cylinder-shaped jaw made of tin plates, hence his epithet. He wore a tin-plate armor and hooded cape made from White Walkie skin. He also wore brown thick gloves, pair of purple and orange woolen shorts, brown belt around his waist, and pair of thick short boots.
Musshuru is tall and thin unlike Wapol. The shape of his head and pink hair resembles a mushroom with what appears to be a face mask on his eyes and black beard at his chin. He also wore a regal armor with a violet cape that covers his right side, shoulder pads, orange pants, fluffy shoes, and a weasel-skin scarf on his left shoulder.
Sanji and Anna can hear the laughter that's coming from the deck which it got the ranger worried of the situation.
"Vivi! Watch over Nami! Sanji! Come with me!" Anna shouts with an order as she ran upstairs while Sanji followed with a comply.
Shanise and Ivan can hear the laugh coming from the deck as they rushed out of the helm.
"Hey! What's going-"
Before Sanji could even finish his mid-sentence after he, Anna, Shanise, and Ivan got out of the helm. Everyone on the deck and the crows nest are surrounded by a group of men with guns. Anna, Shanise, and Ventus glanced around making note of the numbers and the positions everyone on board. Wapol is eating the chunk of meat while Musshuru is waiting for one of them to move, itching for a fight. Sanji then lights the match as he place it next to the cigarette, lit it up while blowing the smoke from his mouth.
"So...What's going on?" Sanji asks calmly.
"Well, we're under attack." Luffy answered simply. "And it's still snowing."
The moment he answered, Sanji, Anna, Ivan, and Shanise were in the same situation as their crew.
"Well, yeah, the guns pointing at our face kind of give it away. What next?" Sanji rhetorically questions.
"You all consider yourself a band of pirates? That's amusing." Wapol mocks, eating while talking with his mouthful. "I only count eight of you."
"Yeah, and there's not much of a crew." Musshuru agrees. "Bet you that they're a couple of weaklings who are easy to kill."
They couldn't help but glare at Musshuru, feeling insulted of his remark.
Wapol then eats up the knife, making the entire pirate crew flinched.
"Sort of strange, that your group would have so few members." Wapol said as he then eats the handle.
They're now watching Wapol eating the knife which hearing it would make their faces paled, except Ventus since his face is still holding much anger and hate. Anna and Shanise notice the young Dragoon is getting enraged.
"Kay' that's just weird. What kinda guy likes to eat knives?" Luffy asks, feeling grossed out.
"UGH! My gums are bleeding just watching!" Usopp exclaims, sticking his tongue out with disgust.
"Alright, I'll keep this simple." Wapol said. "See, my men here and I wish to travel the Drum Kingdom. You wouldn't happen to have an Eternal Pose or Log Pose, would ya?"
'Drum Kingdom? It's been months since I traveled alone.' Ventus mentally thought, widen his eyes when he heard that island.
"Nope, can't help." Sanji lied. "Sorry, but I've never even heard of this Drum Kingdom."
"Well, now that we have that all settled, would you guys just leave already. We're in a hurry, we don't have time to deal with all this." Luffy demands.
"You'll never enjoy life is you're always in a rush, but if you have neither pose, what can be done?" Wapol asks with a shrug. "I suppose I'll have to settle for your treasure on this ship."
"Huh!?" Luffy exclaims.
"First things first, I'm feeling a bit hungry." Wapol said with a chuckle.
"You're always hungry ya big fat Gluttonous Hippo Head!" Musshuru shouts at him, earned a glare from Wapol. "You always eat everything on sight, while we wasted away for our supplies, ya damn idiot!?"
"Shut up! You don't talk to me like that!" Wapol retorts.
"I can say whatever the hell I want, you damn Hippo Head!" Musshuru shouts with white eyes and shark-like teeth. "You should eat less and try to be lean, like me!"
"I can eat whatever the hell I want, it ain't my fault I ate the Devil Fruit, ya moron!" Wapol argues. "I still need to eat, so how about you shut the hell up and let me eat!"
Wapol then turn his head to the side of the ship, taking a big chomp out of the ship as he tears it up and eat it.
"He's a ship eating monster!?" Usopp shouts with his face paled.
"Hey, our ship isn't your lunch!" Luffy shouts, getting angry as the men points their guns closer to him.
"Be quiet! Wapol doesn't like to be disturbed while he's eating!"
"Shut up!" Luffy retorts, knocking them in the heads with his fist.
"We don't care if your fat captain enjoys the ship!" Anna added with shout. "You're all wasting our time."
Anna then quickly drew out her twin swords while Ivan drew out his baseball bats, knocking them out while the blades slashed them in the chest.
"Damn pirates, we're under attack! Shoot them!"
With that, the group fires at Luffy which they failed to realize his body is made out of rubber. Ventus intervened by spinning his body, slashing them with his harpoon as he then leaps and attack at them while defending his crew. Zoro, Sanji, and Shanise are watching the scene which they're also itching for fighting anyway.
"Now things are finally starting to get interesting." Zoro said with a smirk, pulling the cloak out.
"Perfect, this is more like it." Sanji added with a smile, pulling the scarf out.
"Humph, I'm getting bored anyway." Shanise huffed with a smirk, cracking her knuckles.
Usopp is trying not to get involved with the fight when the group of pirates firing at him which they're firing at the mast. Chess and a man named Kuromarimo are watching the scene with a smirk on their faces, thinking the Straw Hat pirates are finished.
Kuromarimo sports a long orange cloak with white lining and black afros at each end and white afros hanging from the front. He wore gloves that covers all fingers but his thumbs and resembles an afro. He has a large black afro on his head and three small ones on his beard. He is of medium height and normal weight. He wore a shirt that's orange in the middle and white on the sides with light yellow buttons along with orange shorts. He has hairy legs and black boots with white laces.
"They took it upon themselves to start this." Chess stated.
"What fools, they got a death wish?" Kuromarimo asks.
However, they didn't realize that the Straw Hat pirates are strong enough to beat up against the group of pirates and not to be underestimated. Sanji leaps in midair while avoiding the gunfire as he lands behind them, deliver a high kick to the neck.
"You shouldn't take on anything you can't handle." Sanji told them, knocking him down. "Reception"
When they're about to fire at Sanji, he quickly kicked them out of the way and knocking them out. Ventus leaps in front of the pirates as he readied his lance.
"Rising Drive" Ventus then ascends while twirling his lance, slashing them and slam them up towards the water.
Musshuru then notice the young Dragoon which he recognizes him. He then quickly rush towards Ventus, leaving him caught his scent as he turned to him.
"Spin Drill" Musshuru transforms his fist into a drill and about to strike him, causing Ventus to dodge while jump in midair.
"Dragon's Fang" Ventus counters by flinging his lance, impaled him in the shoulder and causing him to cough a bit of his blood while scream in pain.
"Like Luffy said, we're in a hurry. NOW GET OUT OF OUR WAY!?" Ventus yelled as he tosses Musshuru up in the air, sent him towards the ship as he crashes towards the wooden wall.
Zoro manage to deal with the pirates in the crows nest as he then jumps out, charging after them. The group of pirates were about to attack, but Zoro lands on the deck, flash-stepping towards them while slashing them with his swords. Shanise tossed the pirates overboard while leap over the wooden rails while knocking them down with her fists while Ivan gives her a helping hand by knocking them out with his baseball bats and Zoro used his Streaming Wolf Swords technique, slashing them in the process.
"All bark, no bite." Zoro muttered with a scowl.
"Tch! Bunch of weaklings." Ivan added with annoyance.
"Hey! Um, Wapol! We need help!"
The group of pirates are trying to get Wapol to help them which he's too busy eating the ship while Musshuru stood up, holding the pressure of his shoulder and looking at the pirates with anger.
"Musshuru, are you alright?"
"Do I look like I'm alright, ya idiot?!" Musshuru yelled, making his crew flinched. "That damn dragon brat impaled me with his own spear!?"
"Wait, you meant to tell me that Ventus is here?!" Chess exclaims with shock. "Damn! That usurper is back!"
"And he's getting stronger the last time we fought! He even predicts my movements!" Musshuru added with furious look. "I don't know how, but I will kill that dragon brat!?"
While Wapol is too busy eating the ship, the Straw hat pirates are beating the group of pirates which they're making quick work out of them. Luffy is chasing after Wapol while punching them.
"YOU'RE STILL EATING?!" Luffy yelled furiously.
"This ship doesn't taste half bad." Wapol muttered.
"HEY! YOU!" Luffy yelled, earned his attention and the group of pirates are smirking, thinking the rubber captain won't stand a chance against Wapol.
"You fool! You're match for Wapol!"
"Now you'll be eaten by the power of the Munch-Munch Fruit!"
When Luffy stretches his arms back while getting too close, Wapol opened his mouth and chomping him. Vivi opens the door when she noticed the group of pirates are beaten by the Straw Hat pirates and Luffy's arms are stretching pretty far.
"What's this?" Vivi asks in confusion.
"Oh, hey there, Vivi." Sanji greeted her, looking at her. "Everything okay with Nami?"
Vivi only give him a silent respond. Zoro placed his swords back on his scabbards, looking at Luffy's arms while Ventus notice the rubber captain is going to hit Wapol. Luffy let out a battle cry when his arms stretches far enough.
"I prefer someone less chewy." Wapol said with his mouthful, having a hard time chewing Luffy.
Vivi notice Luffy hurls his arms forward, making Wapol shocked.
"I SAID LEAAAAAAAAAAVE!?" Luffy yelled, using the 'Gum-Gum: Bazooka' technique as he strikes Wapol and sent him flying towards the sky.
Chess, Kuromarimo, Musshuru, and their crew were completely stunned with their face paled when they saw Luffy sent Wapol flying. They knew that Wapol is going to sink whenever he lands on water due to the Devil Fruit he ate.
"Wapol?" Chess muttered his name while the Straw Hat pirates smirked at Luffy. "This is bad! He's sent Wapol flying out into the ocean!"
"That is worst! It's a disaster! Wapol's gonna drown! He can't swim!" Kuromarimo exclaims with fright.
"Don't just stand there! Get your no-good asses back in the ship! We have to get that Idiotic Hippo Brother of mine!?" Musshuru yelled at the crew furiously.
As the hippo/White Walkie figurehead opened its mouth, the ladder is lowering down when the group of pirates grab the wounded and flees back into the ship.
"This is far from over! You'll pay! I promise you; you'll pay!" Chess shouts, pointing at them.
"You're dead! You brats!" Kuromarimo added with a yell.
"You better hope Wapol doesn't die!" Chess yelled.
"We'll be back! I'll promise you; we'll be back!?" Musshuru yelled.
"And it will be your blood! Remember that! We'll get you for this!" Kuromarimo yelled.
The Straw Hat pirates are watching them sailing away to rescue Wapol if they'll able to reach him in time before he lands into the ocean. Soon as the ship disappeared out of sight, Usopp spoke.
"Wow, crazy." Usopp said. "Those guys are really upset. What were they calling that old garbage can, Wapol?"
"Who cares about what his name was." Sanji said with shrug, not caring about his name. "Don't worry about it. The guy is obviously a moron. Best to just forget about him."
'Easier said than done. It's hard not to forget about Wapol and his brother, Musshuru.' Ventus mentally thought, remembered his first encounter with them back at Drum Island. 'It's been nine months since I've encountered them and their crew. Never thought I get to see them again.'
But Ventus isn't the only one who remembered him, Vivi also remembered Wapol when she recognizes the name and the laugh.
"I know him, but from where." Vivi muttered, pondered when she remembered him, but she couldn't remember where it took place.
Few hours later, the Straw Hat pirates continue to sail towards the island which the sun begins to set. It's not enough when Wapol, Musshuru, and their crew were blocking their way just for asking either an Eternal Pose or Log Pose for them to return to Drum Island. Nami's condition is getting worse because the fever isn't going down and she's breathing hard. Anna and Ventus are reading some medical books about her situation besides bug bites which they're not getting anything because it doesn't tell them anything about she's currently in right now.
"Maybe...are you sure she isn't just hungry?" Luffy asked, much to Anna and Ventus' annoyance. "If that's really the reason that Nami's like this, then maybe we should try feeding her lots of meat."
Him thinking that food can make Nami feel better already made Anna and Ventus' pop a vessel and kick Luffy out of the room, again. It really got them stressed if someone don't do anything to them help get Nami better. The only reason is that they don't have a doctor on a crew and Luffy didn't even bother come up with the suggestion. Then again, neither did the others.
"Anna, Ventus." Vivi called them, earned their attention. "I understand how you two feel, but please know that Luffy is trying to help."
"Yes. I know that, but he should know by now that food isn't the solution to everything." Anna told her, sighed with exaggeration. "We told him a hundred times, but he just won't listen for any reason, and we've hardly had any sleep with this going on. I just hope we get to the island soon."
"And here we thought we can get there in less than two days." Ventus added with a sigh. "But with everything going on, it's harder than I thought. Then again, with this cold weather like this, we might be getting close to island that has an endless winter."
"But still, this isn't good. The sun's about to set and she's still the same." Sanji told them.
"Yeah, right." Vivi agrees. "Maybe it would be best we drop anchor somewhere. We can't navigate at night anyway without the help of Nami's instructions."
"No, we keep sailing." Anna shook her head. "I'll switch with Ivan; he might be getting tired. Out of everyone in this crew, Shanise, Ivan, Ventus, and I are the only ones who can navigate to find an island. We're the only ones who can steer the helm."
"Well, if you say so." Sanji said as she and Ventus left the room for a moment. Ventus is heading to the kitchen to get some sleep while Anna is taking Ivan's place so he can rest up.
Soon as night fell, everyone, except Shanise, Anna, Ventus, and Ivan, are in the girl's room. Ventus have switched since Anna is getting tired, switching the wet towel on Nami's forehead with the colder one. Once he did, Nami is waking up.
"So, you're awake. You should get back to sleep." Ventus suggests. "We don't want your condition get any worse."
Nami looking behind him and saw Zoro, Usopp, Vivi, Karoo, and Luffy sleeping. Sanji isn't in her room, and neither is Anna, Shanise, and Ivan.
"Oh, you want my autograph because I'm so famous?" Usopp asks, scaring Ventus and Nami.
"Jeez, he's just sleep talking." Ventus muttered with annoyance, turning to Nami. "Anyway, you're far from recovery. You should get back to sleep."
"Yeah." Nami nods, closing her eyes. "Say Ventus. You're still wearing your usual clothes. Aren't you feeling cold?"
"No, the heat is helping my body, so I won't get too cold and regulating my temperature." Ventus shook his head, explaining. "I'm a half-dragon, remember?"
"Oh right, I forgot." Nami said with a smile. "But I thought dragons are cold-blooded."
"Dragons doesn't depend upon the environment warmth, but they maintain a consistent internal temperature. Meaning dragons are warm-blooded by increasing the metabolic rate when the environment grows cold." Ventus explains, earned a nod from Nami as she then went back to sleep.
Ventus then went back upstairs to get back steering the helm, telling Sanji that he'll take over and thanking him for the help.
The next morning, Shanise took over steering the helm while Ventus rest a little bit since he's getting little tired. Anna and Ivan are on the deck to seeing if there's an island on sight, but unfortunately, it seems they're nowhere near it. Disappointed, they have to wait a little longer to get to the island. Ventus woke up early to do some morning training but heard something banging when he saw Usopp doing some patch jobs on the Going Merry. Sanji woke up at the crows nest, shivering as he spoke.
"Crap, I fell asleep." Sanji muttered.
"You're up early." Ventus said, watching Usopp fixing the ship.
"I can't just sit around doing nothing. We gotta find a way out of this jam as quick as possible." Usopp told him, banging the nails on the wooden board.
"It's understandable, but I'm afraid this'll take a little longer to find an island." Anna told her with a sigh.
Anna then heads downstairs to Nami's room to check up on her but notice Luffy is doing something stupid as usual.
"Come on, Nami, would you look. This is weird, why won't you wake up and smile?" Luffy whines, tried to get Nami to wake up. "Come on, just one tiny smile."
"What are you doing?" Anna asks when Luffy looked at her, seeing his face is covered in face paint which it's creepy. It caused her to lose balance at the sight. "Just what the hell are you doing?!"
"I'm trying to make Nami smile." Luffy told her simply, causing Anna to pop her vessel.
"Look here..." Anna growled. "THAT FACE WOULD SCARE PEOPLE INSTEAD OF MAKING HER SMILE!?"
With that, Anna kicked Luffy out of the room, again. She pants heavily, feeling annoyed of Luffy's antics when Zoro came downstairs and spoke.
"Let me guess, Luffy?" Zoro inquires, earned a nod from her which she's not in a mood. "Look, I'll take over and watch over Nami, just to give you a break."
"Thanks, Zoro." Anna thanked him with a sigh of relief. "Once Nami feels better, I'm going to need a lot of sleep."
When Anna reaches up at the deck and Ventus finished his bath after his morning training, Usopp continued patching up on the other side while Sanji looks through the horizon.
"Say, Usopp, does this area seem unusually calm and cold?" Sanji questions.
"Yeah, now that you mention it, it sure does." Usopp answered, agreeing to what Sanji have told him. "To be honest, it's freaking me out. Grand Line just keeps getting stranger."
"That's not necessarily true." Vivi points out when she and Ventus got out of the kitchen, with the young Dragoon now wearing a Bozjan attire. "Maybe, there's an island nearby. Hey Sanji, will you check the horizon for any sign of land."
"Sure thing." Sanji complies, looking at the sea while Ventus also look for any signs of land, using his Dragon Sight.
"There's a Winter Island somewhere nearby, I think." Vivi guessed.
"Well, you're not wrong." Ventus told her, sniffing the air. "We might be getting close to an island."
"Winter Island?" Sanji repeats curiously when Usopp accidentally hit his hand with the hammer. Ivan gives him a helping hand by doing a patch job.
"Scattered within the Grand Line, they are four basic types of islands made distinct by their very own climate: you've got summer islands, spring islands, autumn islands, and of course, winter islands. Each one has its own four independent seasons, when traveling on the Grand Line, they're at least sixteen different types of weather patterns you must be prepared to endure. Ranging from Summer Islands to summer all the way to Winter Islands of winter and everything in between." Vivi explains. "They're can always be exceptions to this, and you can even encounter unknown climates at any giving moment."
"I think I get it." Usopp said, beginning to understand what Vivi is telling them. "The Grand Line has all these different islands one after the other, and that's the reason why the seas between them has such crazy unstable weather patterns."
"Yes, but the reason why the sea is calm is because we're getting close to the island." Ventus nods. "Meaning the closer you get to an island, the calmer the sea is around us. Which is why Vivi is asking Sanji looking for land."
"Well, someone's done your homework." Sanji compliments the young Dragoon with an impressed smile but saw an island. "That's it. I see it."
They then look at the island that has the season of winter which Ventus is right, they saw an island that has snow.
"ISLAND, DEAD AHEAD!" Sanji yelled.
"This must be the Drum Island Wapol was talking about." Ventus muttered, earned their attention. "Usually, this island usually has a name, not anymore."
"Why? What happen?" Anna inquires.
"Blackbeard happened. He invaded the island few months ago after Wapol and his group flees, realizing that Blackbeard is too powerful." Ventus explains seriously. "It's been nine months since I came to this island once."
"Wait, you've been here before?" Usopp questions.
"I traveled alone a year ago, remember?" Ventus counters with a question which Usopp forgot about it.
Of course, Luffy is excited when he heard an island and hoping to find a doctor so Nami will get better. Ventus however, knew a certain doctors who can treat Nami, but he knows all too well about it because the people have strong hatred against pirates like Blackbeard and Wapol.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! THERE IT IS! NAMI'S SAVED!" Luffy yelled with excitement, looking at the Winter Island. "Alright, it's snow. A snow island."
"Whoa, Luffy, wait. Just so there's no misunderstanding between us, we're stopping to find Nami a doctor, we're not here to have an adventure." Sanji reminded the captain which he's not listening. "Are we clear?"
"I love snow. It's so white." Luffy muttered, looking at the island with awe.
"Forget it, Sanji, he's not listening." Shanise told him. "No use trying to get him to listen."
"H-Hold on! Y-You sure that this is a good idea? There could be snow monsters! Besides, we don't even know if there's people there or not!" Usopp exclaims, scared as he come up with a lie. "Oh no! I'm having a relapse of don't-go-to-the-island-disease!?"
"Usopp, will you shut up." Ventus said with annoyance, bonking his heads. "There's no such thing as snow monsters, and yes, there's people on the island."
"Really?" Usopp asks surprisingly.
"Yep, but there's a catch." Ventus told them. "They have hatred of pirates because of Blackbeard."
"Oh yeah, you mention of him earlier." Sanji said, understands what he means. "Well, it's too late to turn back, we'll have to get ready for the inevitable."
"Is there something else we should know on this island?" Usopp questions the young Dragoon.
"There is, people have feared Wapol. The reason is because he use to be a ruler on the island long ago." Ventus nods with an explanation.
"Oh, you mean that walking garbage can eating our ship not too long ago?" Usopp inquires, earned a nod from him. "Why is that?"
"Because Wapol is a tyrant who use to ruled the island years ago." The voice of Shanise told them, got out of the helm. "If I remember correctly, Wapol rules the island years ago with an iron fist, causing the people to fear him long ago."
The Straw Hat pirates now realize that Wapol is the same pirate whom they encountered few days ago and it would seem like he and his crew wanted a Pose to get here on Winter Island.
Winter Island
Soon as they sailed towards the island, the Straw Hat pirates are looking at the island that's an extremely snowy country with absolute freezing temperatures that can be felt even from the surrounding seas. There are features a series of drum shaped mountains and there are villages on the island and snowy mountains.
Luffy is happy to be here mostly because of the snow. Ventus however, keeping his guard up because he knows this island doesn't welcome pirates which Anna noticed as she readied her bow in case if they encounter the people on the island.
"I'm so happy! Look at the snow!" Luffy said with a big smile, in teary eyes.
"Look at the mountains, they're unlike anything I've ever seen." Sanji muttered with awe.
"Say Luffy, aren't you cold dressed like that?" Usopp asks, shivering.
"It's 10 Degrees below freezing out here. That's when bears get ready to hibernate." Vivi points out.
"Oh boy." Luffy said, realizing it's freezing as he wrapped his arms around himself. "COLD!?"
"YOU JUST FIGURED THAT OUT?!" Usopp, Sanji, and Ivan shouts in annoyance, showing their white eyes and shark-like teeth.
Soon as they stopped, they notice the falls on the river which it would be a good spot to disembark.
"It's a stream of melted snow, this may provide a good spot to disembark." Vivi told them.
"Kay' guys, start the search." Zoro ordered them. "Who wants in? Guess we made people here first."
"We don't have to." Ventus said seriously.
"Why is that?" Sanji asks in confusion.
"Because they're here, that's why." Ventus answered simply.
"That's far enough, pirates!"
When they heard a voice coming from the cliff, they saw people from both sides of the cliff with guns, which means those people are showing hostility to pirates. Ventus have already explain about this island recently when Zoro and Sanji look at their surroundings, seeing people getting ready to fire.
"People, well that was easy." Luffy said.
"But you got to remember, they don't welcome pirates. Leave the talking to me." Ventus told him, turned his head to the people. "Lower you weapons! We don't want any trouble! I understand you hate pirates, but you can kill us if we done nothing wrong! Our friend is very ill, and we need a doctor!"
"Shut up, you damn pirate!"
"That's enough! Take back what you said!" The man shouts with an order.
He is an imposing tall man with slicked black hair and a goatee. He wore a long white fur-lined green tunic and armor plates on his arms; these plates retained on his fore legs. He wore a green and white furred hat, equipped with ear-flaps, and brown long boots. His weapon of choice on his back is an extra-large spade.
Ventus recognize that scent coming from him which happens to be the leader of the group. Many of the people are confused when they looked at him.
"What are you talking about, Dalton?"
"That boy is pirate like them!"
"Why so you want him to take back when he said about him?!"
Many people are questioning about Dalton, wondering why he would sided with Ventus as he turned his head to the young Dragoon and spoke.
"Hey, boy." Dalton said, ignoring the people. "Are you Ventus Starwind?"
All of the people and the Straw Hat pirates are shocked when he asked him. Ventus took off his black cap, showing his long blond hair.
"Yes, I'm Ventus Starwind." Ventus answered, smiled. "It's been a while, Dalton."
