I'm SO sorry for being late. I had a test this week, so I had to buckle down and study. I will say this: The next chapter will DEFINITELY be late. because I still have more tests! It's FINALS time for me. College still is kicking my butt- haha!

I will still try to update once a week, but until these finals are over; all bets are off. I could be a few days late- heck, even 3 days late.

BUT I will STILL do my best to give you the weekly story updates. I should have some free time to swrite.

No promises though until the finals are over.

It's finals' time! Wish me luck.

Enjoy!

Chapter 18: The Champion's Rage

Lucian's Flygon had arrived at the Crimson foundation base. It was a lone skyscraper that was tall enough to blot out the sun. Before Flygon's feet touched the ground, Lucian leapt off of his Pokémon and activated his invoker armor in mid air. His entire body flashed in a blue light before his invoker armor came to be. There was no sign of the champion's clothing, except his fur coat, which stayed on his shoulders even as he landed on the ground. It flew gracefully as though it were a cape.

"Ready for this, Old friend?" Lucian turned to Flygon and flashed a grin at his partner, who nodded and smiled back. As soon as Lucian turned to the building, his smile disappeared, and a look of pure anger came to his face.

"I haven't been this angry for a while." Lucian said. The thought of that man who was so kind to his friend...Zennon, being tortured right this second… it made Lucian's blood boil. Flygon nodded, and Lucian stepped toward the building by himself, cracking his knuckles and his neck. Flygon immediately took flight once again and flew high into the sky.

"Stop right there!" A voice coming from a speaker blared as the lone Champion walked forward. "You are trespassing! If you don't move, we will send guards to stop you!"

"Send em' all!" Lucian said.

"Very well!" The front doors of the Crimson Foundation base busted open, and hundreds of grunts came out all at once and flooded the area. Lucian stopped moving as more and more grunts came to surround him. There had to be at least two hundred grunts in all that surrounded the man. Every single one of these grunts were wearing black cloaks- their hoods covered every one of their faces. One by one, the grunts released their Pokémon. Hundreds of Zubats hovered the skies and Houndooms flooded the scene. Cancenas, Zangooses, Sevipers, Golbats, and several other Pokémon came and bellowed their war cry- effectively doubling their numbers. Each and every single one of the grunts activate their invoker armor.

Flygon watched while hovering high in the air, and looked as calm as his trainer, even though he was completely and utterly surrounded.

"We have you completely surrounded!" The man in the speaker cried.

"You guys are surrounded." Lucian said.

"GET HIM!" The guards cried out and rushed toward the champion.

Without warning the Lucian raised his fist. It erupted into azure flames before he thrust it to the ground. A pillar of dragon flame exploded from where Lucian stood. Some guards covered their faces to protect themselves from the blasting winds that blew their way. The Pokémon that could fly scattered about.

Lucian's shadow could be seen within the erupting pillar of flame. His eyes looked like they were glowing azure, as well.

"Oh, jeez..!" A guard cried, stepping back in fear. Suddenly, the shadow inside the pillar of flame disappeared from sight. The guard gasped before Lucian's fist slammed into his gut. Lucian roundhouse kicked the guard with so much force that he was sent flying into the crowd behind him, crashing into them like a bowling ball would with bowling pins. Lucian stood and watched the carnage.

"CHAAARGE!" Other grunts cried.

Lucian spun around, his hand burst into azure flames. It took the shape of a five-fingered claw as he dug it into the earth below.

"DRAGON CLAW!" Lucian roared, swinging his arm upward and releasing five intense trails of flame that ripped the ground apart and sent the waves of grunts and their Pokémon flying. Lucian heard the battle cry of a grunt that approached him from behind. The champion spun around and grabbed his fist.

"You've got guts," Lucian said, flashing a smile at the trembling grunt.

"Golbat!" A grunt behind Lucian flung his finger at the champion. "Hyper beam!" Lucian leapt high into the air while still holding onto the grunt whose fist he grabbed. His jet boots engaged immediately.

If Flygon, the Pokémon whom he was linked with could fly, then so could he.

"Hyper beam!" A grunt cried.

"Use hyper beam!" Another cried.

Every single grunt who was still standing cried out the same command: to use hyper beam on Lucian. More and more guards pointed at the airborne champion as flying and grounded Pokémon alike shot beams of light from their mouths and at the champion Using his Jet boots, he soared across the sky, flying away from the lasers that followed him like homing rockets. The guard he held onto started crying out in sheer terror as Lucian turned his head. The Hyper beams suddenly started to merge together into one, and slowly, it became a huge, mega-laser.

Lucian grinned, and spun around to face the oncoming beam.

"LET ME GO!" The guard cried.

"All right, sure!" Lucian suddenly spun himself and the guard around like a top before finally throwing him toward the giant mega-laser. The man crashed into it stomach-first- and the laser kept going despite this, carrying the man with him as it still flew at Lucian. Lucian flipped and drove his foot onto the grunt's back, using him as cover as he pushed against the massive laser back to the senders. The grunts on the ground screamed in terror as the champion closed the distance between them.

Then- just as the champion and the crowd met-

BOOM!

A violent explosion burst into life. Dust and smoke covered the air.

Aiden stared at the brainwashed Zennon like an artist would with his masterpiece. Suddenly, a loud explosion shook the ground, and Aiden nearly tripped.

"The heck's going on out there?!" Aiden said. Suddenly, someone pounded on the door. Aiden turned and opened the door, and saw the leader of the crimson foundation, Aldrich, open the door. He was holding a single Pokéball in his hand.

"There's a Flygon in here!" A grunt cried from behind Aldrich.

"OH JEEZ, HE'S BEATING US ALL! HELP!" Another cried. As an explosion rang out and smoke covered the hallway, Aldrich stepped into the dark room and closed the door behind him.

"The champion found our location. The three of us have to leave." Aldrich said. He tossed his Pokéball, and out came an Abra, who sat on the floor with a bored expression.

"Just the three of us, huh? Forget everyone else?" Aiden asked.

"We don't need them anymore." Aldrich said. "Let the champion deal with them." Aiden nodded and smiled. "Abra, Teleport us. Now."

Abra nodded, and in the blink of an eye, Aldrich, Zennon and Aiden disappeared in a flash of light.

Flygon had looked in every nook and cranny of the Crimson foundation HQ that was now in flames. There was no sign of Zennon. All of the grunts that were inside the hideout were lying on the ground, defeated. Flygon sighed before taking flight and leaving out the front door. As soon as he did, he saw hundreds defeated grunts and Pokémon lying on the ground, and in the middle of the crowd, the only thing still standing was his trainer, Lucian. Flygon flew over to the champion, who turned around once he came near.

"You didn't find him, did you?" Lucian asked. Flygon shook his head. Lucian sighed. "I guess we're going to have to go back and talk to the others… This stinks." Lucian crossed his arms. "They must have gotten away during the fight I had. It's annoying… But we'll find them. Not a matter of if, only when." Lucian said. The partners shared a nod.

Aldrich and Aiden were standing at the edge of a cliff, watching the Champion from afar, Zennon was lying on the ground behind them. He was completely motionless.

"It is time for part two of the plan," Aldrich said. "We must find Groudon and Kyogre."

"I'm all for it… but that Lucian guy's going to be a problem. He took on every single grunt on his own without taking a single hit.."

Zennon slowly rose to his feet. His eyes were still glowing red- indicating that he was still very much brainwashed.

"I know the perfect way to stop him…" Zennon said. "And stop anyone with an invoker who dares to stop us.."

"Oh?" Aldrich said, turning to Zennon quickly. "How?"

Zennon grinned maliciously.
