Family of Two.
Chapter 6. Date aftermath.
(The Loud House.)
Lincoln and Luna are still in their sleep wear and eating breakfast in the dining room, Great Grandma Harriet arrives with some orange juice with her, Luna and Harriet notice how happy Lincoln looks, both of them now why and thought he looked nice with a smile in the morning. Though, this was no ordinary smile.
"So, you gonna hang out with your special lady today?" asked Luna with a smile.
Lincoln chuckles. "Yeah, we're headed to Gus' later to talk with the rest of my pals and also try and get some word out of Liam about his date with Tabby." He then finishes his bowl of cereal.
"That's mighty nice of you to hang out with your pals once again son, I'm glad you're now gonna step up and make friends once again" replied Luna.
"I could only guess that your friends will be the ones to ask how your date went, and I'm sure you and Jordan will be glad to tell them" said Great Grandma Harriet. "But what about Jordan's friends? Won't they also wish to know about this?"
"I'm sure they will, but I think Jordan will handle with that" replied Lincoln. "And should we hang out, like one big group then we're gonna have to lay down some rules. Well, Jordan and I will be laying down the rules, I don't wanna offend my special lady and her gal pals."
"That's awfully smart of you and Jordan to do, and don't worry about the chores son. We're all taking a day off the chores so we can at least have some rest. It's Saturday after all" replied Luna.
They then finish eating breakfast and once again Great Grandma Harriet insist of doing the dishes, even though Luna said she was going to do it, she knows Harriet is trying to be helpful.
Lincoln and Luna head to the bathroom and get themselves cleaned up and dressed. They soon come down the stairs and they see Great Grandma Harriet looking at the now empty trophy case, well there are still some stuff in it. "Is there something wrong Great Grandma Harriet?" asked Lincoln.
"This case, what do you two intend to do with it?" asked Great Grandma Harriet.
That was one thing Lincoln and Luna never thought of, but then Luna has an idea. "Well, we can still make it a trophy case for when we do win some stuff. My trophies are still there and I know you'll find you're talent and also win some gold soon. So let's stick with that plan."
"Sounds kinda cool, maybe we can put in some music records in there instead of letting them stack up in the room, it could cover up on a lot of missing space" said Lincoln.
"That sounds like a good idea son" Luna then checks her watch. "You better get going, I'm sure Jordan will be here any minute." Then they hear a knock on the door. "Or she could be here right now."
Lincoln goes over and opens it, and he was happy to see who it was. "Hi Jordan!"
Jordan giggles. "Good morning Lincoln" She then sees Luna come into view. "And Good morning Ms. Loud" Then she sees someone else. "And good morning …. Umm, who are you?" She then sees the woman is transparent and looks like Lucy. This freaks her out. "Why do you look like Lucy? And why are you see through?"
Lincoln goes over and hugs her. "Calm down Jordan, this is Great Grandma Harriet, she's the ghost that Lucy tens to talk to and she's staying with us as a helper from the beyond."
The apparition slowly approaches the Rosato girl. "Greetings Jordan, it is an honor to meet you and I can tell that you are a strong, independent, caring and polite girl. I can see it within your aura, with a hint of dodge ball annihilation." That last part, Lincoln and Luna had no idea what to say about it.
Jordan smiles. "Why thank you … Umm, should I call you Harriet?"
Harriet smiles. "You may, I appreciate the relationship you and Lincoln have, and it feels natural and the right thing, unlike the time he got the black eye from a certain Hispanic girl." That last part is something that makes Lincoln and Luna chuckle nervously, good times am I right?
Lincoln then checks his watch. "Well, we should get going now. We got some friends of mine to start talking to and a certain farm kid to talk about."
Jordan chuckles. "Then let's get going." They both leave the house and head to their bikes.
Luna comes out and waves good bye to them. "Have fun you two and stay safe!"
"We will!" replied Lincoln and Jordan as they ride off to the arcade. They were now out of sight.
Luna sighs and goes back into the house, she looks to the old trophy case and looks at it. She sees she has a lot of trophies and she knows that back then, when the whole family had their trophies in here she was tied with Lynn Jr with the most trophies. Luna then sees one trophy that makes her feel bad, Lincoln's pity trophy from the "Make the Case" incident.
Luna then has an idea, she then heads back upstairs to sort out this small problem.
Great Grandma Harriet notices this. 'What is she up to?' She then looks back to the trophy case and sees Lincoln's small trophy. She then smiles knowing that Luna being a mom to her son has an idea to make things better.
(Gus' Games n' Grub,)
Lincoln and Jordan finally make it to the arcade, they park their bikes and chain them in place. "So, you think they're in there?" asked Jordan.
"I know they are, I told Clyde over the Walkie Talkie this morning after I woke up and then I called Liam and Zach to come to the arcade so we can all hang out and that I have a surprise for them, they seemed very excited when I told them" replied Lincoln.
Lincoln then recalls someone who won't be there. "Though, Rusty is still grounded and won't be back until the end of Saturday, so we'll have to talk to him next time."
Jordan then places a hand on his shoulder. "Don't let that be a problem to you now Lincoln, let's just enjoy the company with your friends now, come on."
Lincoln smiles and he follows Jordan to the arcade, he opens the door for her and they see Clyde, Liam and Zach waiting for them by a table.
"Hey Lincoln" said Zach. "And Girl Jordan?"
Jordan chuckles. "It's okay to call me Jordan guys, we're not in school right now."
"Well, we didn't expect to be hanging out with you today or at any day" said Liam. "I could only guess that you're the surprise Lincoln told us."
"Yes, yes she is" He then kisses Jordan's cheek making her blush and giggle. Lincoln chuckles. "And let's just say as you guys should now know we're dating, but not official boyfriend and girlfriend."
"Yeah, and even though we'd like that to happen it's gonna be a long road for that one" said Jordan. "Or after a week or two."
They were at a loss for words from this news. "I'm proud of you buddy, you finally got someone who you can actually love and share equality, though does she really know about who you are?" asked Clyde.
Lincoln knows this is Clyde being skeptical when it comes to knowing his best friend. "Clyde, you gotta understand that not everyone knows each other that well, I mean I have something's in my life that can change who I am and what I like. The past versions of who we are will slowly fade, and we have to accept change and even though Jordan and I aren't dating, I am willing to share that change with her and tell her all that she needs to know about me."
Jordan is touched by this. "Aww, and I am also willing to share with you the things I know and maybe some secrets. Though I think the only secret I had was my long time crush on you, so there's no other secret left to know."
"Wow! Not yet boyfriend and girlfriend and you two are already trying to get to know each other" said Zach. "You really are a guy who knows and understands a lady."
Liam then realizes. "Now I feel bad, we could've hooked him up with Jordan when we were trying to get him over Ronnie Anne, but he never really was interested in Ronnie Anne."
Lincoln sighs and looks to them in annoyance. "Are we really gonna bring that back up again?"
"Also, that doesn't sound like a bad idea" said Jordan. "You guys could've hooked him up with a girl you guys know at school, like me and you may have spared him the thought of getting hurt and/or humiliated from the girls you guys tried to hook him up with from before" Jordan says with her arms crossed and looking at them sternly. Lincoln also realizes this.
Liam, Clyde and Zach were now feeling awkward from this. "Yup, you two are meant to be and we should've thought that whole "Back out There" through." Clyde and Liam also agree, and they should tell this to Rusty as well, when he's no longer grounded.
Clyde then goes over to Lincoln. "I guess you're right about changing Lincoln, sorry about being skeptical back there. I was ….. Just being protective with the whole Clincoln McLoud thing and the fact we've been friend for so long."
Lincoln and Jordan knew it was time. "Guys, we need to talk." They all take their seats.
"So, what's there to talk about?" asked Zach. "I mean we're not playing any games and I also ordered us some pizza and drinks."
Lincoln then looks to Clyde. "Clyde, we first met when we were 5 and during Halloween right?"
"Yeah, we bumped or better yet crashed into each other when you were trying to go after your sister Lynn" replied Clyde. "She really was an irresponsible kid back then and she still is now."
Lincoln chuckles from that memory, then he goes back to his first stern look. "Clyde, I went to kindergarten when I was four and you when there when you were in another kindergarten." Clyde was getting confused by this. "The first person I became friends with, was Jordan Rosato."
They all were stunned to hear this. Clyde is wide eyed. "What?"
"Clyde, he's telling the truth" said Jordan. "We met long ago. I was a really shy girl and I didn't know how to make friends, then this white-haired kid exactly my age comes along and he tells me not to be shy and becomes my friend, my first friend and in hidden relations, a long lost best friend and right now, lover." This makes Lincoln blush. "Through Lincoln, I was no longer shy, I became brave, tough and soon made my own friends, while he made his own friends too. But in secret we still liked to hang out, until we went to first grade and we drifted apart. But the relationship we had we still lingering and we both realized we had a crush on each other, we were just too shy to show it, even in public."
Now Lincoln's friends were at a loss for words, and so was Clyde. "Dang man, that's what I call a long lost romance novel. Like what my mom tends to read" said Zach.
Liam wipes a few tears. "That was really sweet from both of you, this should be like a movie or something'!"
Lincoln and Jordan chuckled at they're words, then they see the concerned look on Clyde's face. They both know he was getting mixed feelings. 'So, all this time ….. I wasn't Lincoln's first friend or even his first best friend.'
"Clyde?" the African-American boy looks to Lincoln. "We're still best friends, and I'm sorry I never told you the truth. But you have to understand that there are some secrets that were meant to remain secret and lies that are kept within us. There's so much of me you don't know about and more to come for when I change with Jordan with me and Luna as my mom, do you understand?"
Clyde smiles. "Yeah, I can understand that. A big step in growing up and heading to the eleventh grade next month too. So, no more Clincoln McLoud?"
Lincoln sighs. "Sorry buddy, but I think we should move past that name. It sounds like a shipping name and it feels kinda awkward, I mean couples usually do that to each other and I think I already have a name for me and Jordan." He holds onto her hand and smile, he then looks to his friends. "Jordacoln."
"Huh, not bad for a shipping name, heck it could used for a ship" said Liam.
They all look to him confused. "Liam that's not how …. You know what, never mind" said Zach. He then looks to Lincoln and Jordan. "Anything else we should talk about?"
They're Sodas soon arrive and they still remain waiting for the pizza. "Yeah, there is" Lincoln and Jordan look towards Liam. Clyde and Zach are confused by this.
Liam drinks his soda and he sees them looking towards him. "What?" He then takes another sip.
"So, Tabby huh?" asked Jordan with a sly look. Lincoln chuckles at this.
Liam spits out his soda. "Who told you that one?!"
Zach takes a napkin and wipes his face and glasses. "Dude, seriously?" Then he realizes. "Wait, Tabby? The girl Liam danced with months ago during the Sadie Hawkins dance?!"
Clyde looks to the smug look on Lincoln and Jordan and then to Liam, "You're dating someone?! And it's Tabby?!"
Liam sighs. "Yeah, it's true. Tabby and I are dating and we started since the beginning of summer. Sorry I didn't tell you guys, I was actually planning on telling you fellas today." He then looks to Jordan and Lincoln. "But how do you two know about us dating?"
"WE saw you when we were heading to our date at the Royal Woods Theater, last night" replied Lincoln. "Oh, and my mom, and Sam saw it too and I'm sure they'll be asking Tabby about that as well."
Liam's eyes go wide. "Huh, did not see that one coming. Well, now you guys know the secret, ya'll not mad are you?" He asks them nervously.
"Mad? Why would we be mad?" said Zach. "Dude, this is awesome. You and Lincoln are now the top guys with dates in the group!"
Clyde also agrees. "Man, Rusty is gonna wanna hear this when he gets out from being grounded and he might faint too, I guess he's not the ladies' man he always says he was. Though we all know he was never a ladies man from the start."
Liam then has an idea. "You know what, since Lincoln is letting Jordan hang out with us. I think I should let Tabby also hang out with us, we can be like some big new group of friends!"
"Sounds like a good idea man" said Zach. "Even though some of us don't have any ladies, I'm sure we can all be good friends."
Jordan then cough sot get their attention. "Which brings us to another thing to talk about, my friends. They're also going to be hearing of this and start wondering about my motives, and someday we all might hang out so if that day does ever come up, I don't wanna see things get awkward or completely stupid between both groups. Understood?"
Liam, Zach and Clyde nod in agreement, they're also gonna have to inform Rusty. They know that Jordan's friends include, Mollie, Kat, Sadie, Joy and Cookie.
Lincoln then looks to Jordan nervously. "Christina isn't your friend is she?" This gets all their attention and things start to get a bit awkward and they recall the "Making the Case" incident and Lincoln's embarrassing video that he posted.
Jordan sighs. "Sadly, she sometimes hands out with us. But don't you worry you're handsome white hair, if she starts questioning me then I will put her in her place and make her regret speaking back to me. Technically I am the leader of my group of friends and they know when not to show disrespect and I know they will respect you when they know about us."
That makes Lincoln feel better. "One question" They look to Zach. "Where are your friends anyway?"
"He's right, we haven't seen them around town throughout summer" said Clyde.
"They're all not here" replied Jordan. "Mollie is at Canada for the whole summer, Kat is in the Florida Keys with her family, Sadie is with her grandparents for the summer, same goes with Joy and Cookie is visiting her aunt and uncle who are staying in France."
"Wow, your friends have some awesome summer vacation plans" replied Liam. "So, can you tell us more about your date last night?"
Zach and Rusty were also interested and Zach is ready to record this so he can send this to Rusty and he will become a believer.
Lincoln and Jordan then tell them they're date last night, from the Royal Woods Theater all the way to the night time moment in Ketcham Park, all while they eat some pizza and then play some arcade games.
(Skip, Loud House.)
Lincoln and Jordan soon return to the Loud House. "So, you wanna hang out here for a while?"
Jordan smiles hearing that. "Sure, it would be nice to get to know your mom and also the ghost haunting these grounds as well."
They both get off their bikes and let them lean onto the side of the garage, then they hear some guitars being strummed. Huh, I guess Luna must have some company."
They both enter the house and they see no one in the living room, but then something catches Lincoln's eyes. "What the heck?" He goes over to the trophy case with Jordan following him.
Inside his spot, he sees the pity trophy he once had was gone and replacing it is a picture of himself and Luna spending time eating breakfast in the room and it had a gold frame and says. "To the best kid I have ever had, you're a winner in my book."
Lincoln sheds a tear seeing this, Jordan also sees this and thought it was sweet. Lincoln then heads upstairs and Jordan follows him.
Upstairs in the bedroom that Lincoln and Luna share, the mother Rockstar is there with her girlfriend Sam, and both of them are tuning their axes. "You think Lincoln is back?" asked Sam.
"Let's hope so" replied Luna. "Because if he is then he must've seen what I left for him at the trophy case, and he might run in here and tackle me into a hug."
Sam chuckles. "What are you psychic or something?"
Then the door opens and they see Lincoln ruin towards Luna and tackle her into a hug on the bean bag chair. "Thank you, thank you mom! I love you so, so much!" cried Lincoln, these are tears of joy.
Luna smiles and sheds her own tears and embraces her son. "You're welcome, I love you too son." She then strokes his hair and kisses his forehead and tightens the hug, she knew he'd like what she left for him to see.
Sam is shocked by this. "Huh, I guess you really are psychic." She then sees how sweet this is and slowly walks out of the room, she does see Jordan by the doorway shedding some tears. "Come on kid, let's give them some space."
Jordan and Sam walk out of the room and close the door. "They have such a sweet relationship, I am so happy for Lincoln and Luna to have this mother and son bonding" said Jordan.
"Same here" replied Sam. Then she shows some concern. "But somewhere along the way, they might have to face some tough love when things go awry, we just gotta be there to ensure that they don't end up hurting each other's feelings. Luna seems to be very protective and Lincoln might still be a bit unstable."
Jordan sighs. "Yeah, I know. We're both girls with awesome lovers who are the best in their own family, so I guess we'll be part of this little family too."
Sam chuckles and she fist bumps with Jordan. "So, you wanna chill in the living room and wait for them to come down and hang out with us?"
"Sounds like a plan, and I should've told Luna this. I sometimes play the piano" said Jordan. "I no longer need a mentor since I'm already good at it."
"I like the sound of that!" said Sam. "Maybe we can have a small jam session. Lincoln, you, Luna and me, a small band we can make from jamming to some cool songs. Axes, Basses, Keyboard and drums!"
Jordan smiled. "Now that's what I call, music to my ears!" Sam and Jordan laugh a bit from that as they head down the stairs and are now in the living room.
"Would you two like some cookies?" they both get startled by Great Grandma Harriet's sudden arrival. That is something these two girls are gonna have to get used to when they hang out with Lincoln and Luna.
Upstairs, Lincoln and Luna break the hug. "Mom, what did you do to my pity trophy?" asked Lincoln.
Luna sighs. She knew he was going to ask her. "I thought that, if you look at that trophy it'll bring back some very unpleasant memories that will make either of us feel really bad, that whole video contest thing was the worst thing that has happened to both of us and I know you did that because you wanted to win since you noticed you didn't have any known talent."
Lincoln sighs and knows this. "I guess it does make sense."
Luna then places her hand on his shoulder. "But don't let that get to ya, I can see one talent you're really good at."
Lincoln smiles and looks to her. "And what's that?"
Luna then hugs him once more. "Being the best son I have ever had and being the one who I care for the most and who made me the mom I am now, plus you're the man with the plan. That pretty much counts as a talent, good planning. Like when you improvised in making my Late Mother's Day the best first thing in my life."
Lincoln felt happy hearing that and hugs her too. "I love you mom!"
"Mom loves you too Lincoln" replied Luna as she hugs him and rubs his back.
They later break the hug and get up. "Come on, let's go and see how are our ladies doing down stairs, because I think I heard them get startled" said Luna.
They both head out of the room and close the door, while a certain handmade comic is in a folder labeled as discontinued and it is named "Ace Savvy and The Full House Gang."
But a new and still being made handmade comic is on the desk and is named "Ace Savvy and the Night Club!"
Looks like someone is signing up for an upcoming comic book contest.
