I have been on my own in making these stories and I feel like I can be able to do some of this on my own, but I know that sometimes a little help can't hurt. So, if anyone has any ideas for some future chapters please inform me via Fanfiction PM messaging. Enjoy reading this folks.
Family of two.
Chapter 11. Other Families and Lucy.
(The Loud House.)
Lincoln had just finished checking the bathroom for trash and there barely is any trash in there. "Okay, I guess this still counts as trash." He then empties the trash can into the black trash bag. He then leaves the bathroom and heads to the bedroom, he looks around and smiles. Seeing the new bedroom was always cool to him.
The bed was still the same bunk bed, it felt common and normal for Lincoln and Luna to share the bed like this. He also recalls a lot of other changes onto the house when the renovations started. The walls are newly painted and they still look cool with the normal magenta walls, some wallpapers of bands, Ace Savvy and Muscle Fish, all of the instruments in their places and all organized, the closet which is now bigger and can hold the clothes of Lincoln and Luna, two drawers where they can keep their personal clothing, shelves for some of their knick knacks, the night stand table where the lamp is and a picture of Lincoln and Luna at the park, and a new add on to the room. Two studying desks, one for Lincoln and one for Luna so they may study on some important stuff as well as do some drawing and make some songs or use their laptops.
Lincoln is greatful for the big changes to the house they live in. He really had no clue how to thank all of the people who helped make this happen. They only asked that they be happy with what they have and stay together and keep each other safe. Though Lincoln want to thank Jordan in the best and romantic way possible, Date night on Friday. Something he is looking forward to.
Lincoln looks to the calendar and he sees the date has been labeled for him to remember. 'I still have to figure out what to do on the date with me and Jordan, maybe I'll come up with it eventually. I am after all the man with the plan.' Lincoln then goes back to emptying the trash can in the room and then he heads out of the room.
But then he stops and slowly walks back and he looks to the calendar and he sees the marked date. "August 24, Musical Gig at Bangers n' Mosh." Lincoln is stunned to see that. "Huh, I guess mom put that up. She must have a song ready along with her band, looks like I know what I'm gonna do on Monday next week."
Lincoln then makes his way once more out of the bedroom and he heads down the stairs and he stops when the vacuum cleaner goes by him. "Classic Great Grandma Harriet." He then heads out of the house and he puts the trash bag into the garbage can. "There, all taken care of."
"Well hello there Lincoln." Lincoln stops and turns around to see who it was. He sees a family who has been depicted as the perfect family and always presents with wide grins. It was the family that lives next door to detective Merris. The Yates family, Bumper Sr, Jancey, Beatrix, Belle, Bumper Jr and Beau.
"Oh, hi there Mr. Yates" replied Lincoln. "What brings you guys here, and what are you guys carrying?" He notices the blanket covered baskets they brought with them.
"Oh these? We were going to donate some homemade chocolate brownies to the needy, we made these ourselves" replied Jancey. "We were also wondering if you and your mother would want some as well."
Lincoln smiled and took the basket. "Wow thanks." Then he realized something. "What's in these?"
Bumper Sr chuckles. "My boy, you don't have to worry about any problems with the brownies. We know a lot of people have their own different taste in things and do not like what we seem to eat, so we followed some online recipes and made some classic American home made brownies."
"Oh, well that's a relief" said Lincoln. "I know how you two always give your kids some, well what do you say "Well-rounded" stuff to whatever you guys cook."
"We like to call it our way of trying to make sure they don't look sluggish or act lazy as the days of hardship and accomplishments go by" replied Jancey.
"And since we still have time to spare. We would love to come and see how you and you're mother are doing, we also have some things we would like to discuss with her" said Bumper Sr. "Is she home?"
Lincoln didn't like where this was going, but turning them down might be rude and with everything that is happening, he's kinda confused. "Okay then, well my mom is in the kitchen and she might be done with the dishes. So I guess you can come in."
"Wonderful, come along kids" said Bumper Sr. The children of the two Yates parents follow them and Lincoln into the house, but they all fail to see the figure by the window of the room of Lori and Leni looking at them.
They enter the house and look at the place. "Mom, we have guests" said Lincoln.
"Wow, looks like your friends really did their job into making this house look good" said Jancey.
"I can tell that the paint has been made to suit the structure and its integrity and make sure it can survive from both warm and cold conditions. It is after all summer" replied Belle.
Lincoln had no clue what she just said. "Umm, thanks. I think."
"By the way, where were you and you're mom going the day this house was being renovated?" asked Bumper Sr.
"We went to go and visit Leni." They see the 15 year old rocker mom come out of the kitchen and she wipes her hands with a rag and places it on the dining room table. "Can I help you dudes?" She then sees the basket Lincoln has.
"They gave us some brownies and no they do not have any stuff they usually eat" replied Lincoln.
"Okay then." Luna then looks to the parents. "Thanks for the brownies, now mind telling me why you guys are in here and not out there doing your usual Yates thing around town with your kids?"
"Is that what many of the people call it? Sounds like a simple thing" chuckled Bumper Sr.
"We're actually here to talk to you about some things" said Jancey. "Is there any place here we can talk in private? Parents to single mother?"
Luna sighs. "Let's talk in the kitchen." She then looks to Lincoln. "Linc, stay here in the living room with the Yates kids, we'll be right back."
"Behave now kids" said Bumper Sr. He and his wife follow Luna into the kitchen to talk, leaving Lincoln along with the 4 Yates kids.
Lincoln sits on the lone arm chair, while the 4 Yates kids sit on the new couch and look around the place.
"So, Lincoln." Lincoln looks to Beau. "Have you ever made any progress on what you are good at?"
"Well, my mom teaches me some music and how to use an instrument and I am getting good at the acoustic and the drums, though I'd like to use the electric guitar for once" replied Lincoln. "She told me that there is a long way to learning if I wanna shred like a pro, but I am good with drawing too."
"You mean like art?" asked Belle.
"Not exactly" replied Lincoln. "Well, I do some water color and portrait stuff in school but what I mostly like to do is read comics, that's why I made a comic and I'm planning to enter the big Ace Savvy comic book contest on September, and if I win I get to meet the creator Bill Buck." He then eats a brownie.
The Yates kids have no clue how to even respond to that. "Okay, what about any other talents?" asked Bumper Jr. "When you were in the fifth grade, were you good with your grades?"
Lincoln was suddenly feeling uneasy by this. Beatrix sees this from Lincoln and she knows that Lincoln isn't feeling quite comfortable with other people or kids. "Guys, let's leave him be. No more questions, we seem to be making him uncomfortable." The three younger Yates see Lincoln looking down and not eating the brownies anymore.
"Oh, we're so sorry" said Beau. "We didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable with our questions."
"We just wanted to see if you had some capabilities for living in a new life like this" said Bumper Jr.
"And to know if you need any help with whatever is troubling you" said Belle.
Lincoln doesn't reply and looks away from them, Beatrix sees this. "Guys, stop. Lincoln." The boy looks to the eldest Yates. "Sorry about them, they can be very curious when it comes to kids they wanna meet and know about, I used to be like that but I learned when to never question others and see how others feel. Are you feeling okay?"
Lincoln sighs. "To be honest, a bit confused about everything. But I'll manage, as long as I got my mom with me and some of my friends and other distant relatives, then I know everything will be alright. We might go through some hardships on the way, but we'll deal with it, together."
Beatrix smiles hearing this. "That's good to know." She then grabs a piece of paper and she writes something down and she hands it to him. "In case you need a big sister to talk to, perhaps I can be that sister figure to you." Her siblings were confused a bit, but they know that Beatrix does her best to help others when something is wrong, that is what her name means after all.
Lincoln smiles. "Thanks Beatrix, this is nice of you. Now I know why they named you Beatrix." This makes both kids chuckle a bit. He at least can find some common ground with one of the Yates.
"So, how is Leni?" asked Beatrix. Lincoln was willing to share that information to her, and also to her siblings.
(Kitchen.)
Luna leans near the sink. "Okay, so what do you guys wanna talk about?"
The parents look to each other and then back to Luna. "We would like to talk about how Lincoln is doing?" asked Jancey.
Luna is confused by this. "He's doing fine, I'm doing fine, we're both doing fine. We're trying our best to deal with this new life and we're doing our best to keep things together."
"Well, perhaps we can help you with that" said Bumper Sr.
Luna didn't like where this was about to go. "Excuse me?"
"Well, you see we can be able to provide you and Lincoln some advice on the perfect standards on how to manage a small family such as this, and with little to know problems" said Jancey.
"You two can take up some good willing hobbies to help pass the time, and help others so you two can feel better and less guilty of the haunting problems of the past" said Bumper Sr. "And interacting more with people and sharing them what you know can help with some aftermath social problems Lincoln may have."
"We can tell that you and Lincoln are very close, which explains why Beatrix told us that she always saw you two happy even before you two became a mother and son in this house" said Jancey. "Our daughter was willing to help you two with the crimes that your old family has committed and I believe she would want us to also get involve and assist in the best way we can."
Luna was not liking this at all and they fail to see how angry she is.
"Now the one thing we need to know to get this conversation started." said Bumper Sr.
"What are Lincoln's known talents?" asked Jancey.
Luna remains silent and sighs. "Dudes, this isn't gonna work out."
The Yates parents are confused. "What do you mean by that Luna?" asked Bumper Sr.
"This" replied Luna. "This whole thing you two are trying to do, this whole stupid thing involving my son and me and trying to make us do some changes that you guys have already done to your kids. I know you guys feel bad and wanna help, but the way you guys do you is not the way to do so. Lincoln is perfect in his own way, and I appreciate the hardships he tries every time and I do my best to keep him from falling apart. So, in short words. You two can take your advice and leaves."
The Yates couple had no idea what to say, but they knew they can't convince Luna and/or change their point of view. "Okay then, if that's what you want then we won't get in your way" replied Jancey. She and her husband get up from the seats. "We just wanted to help you and Lincoln, Luna."
"Yeah, well I was expecting some small talk. Small talk that didn't involve questioning my kid, and making me feel like the mom he doesn't need" replied Luna sternly.
They wanted to say something, but then they realizes that all their talk about helping them seemed more like trying to make themselves better and change Luna and Lincoln into what they would want to see. "Oh, we are so sorry Luna. We didn't know we were making things worse for you" said Bumper Sr.
"I guess we didn't see what we were doing or even listen to what we were talking about. You and Lincoln are already doing well in this new life, and we should respect that. There is no need to be like any other family, you two are your own family and we'll respect that" said Jancey.
Luna smiles. "Thanks for finally understanding it. Also, this is the reason why the only family I can trust in talking to are the ones who know what Linc and I have been through, families such as the Rosato's."
"We totally understand that Luna, we'll let you and Lincoln be. But if there is anything we can do to help, just tell us and we'll listen" replied Bumper Sr.
"Noted dude" replied Luna. They then make their leave out of the kitchen and they see Lincoln talking to the Yates kids, and some of them are sharing a few laughs. 'Looks like my kid is making some good friends with some of them.'
"Alright kids, we still got time so I think we should go and get ready to serve to the poor and the needy" said Bumper Sr. They all not and take they're leave.
Beatrix stops and goes back to Lincoln and she goes down to his level. "Remember, if there's anything you wanna talk about, then just call me or you can come over and visit. You can trust me Lincoln."
Lincoln knows he can trust her, she did attempt to help him when he was in the suit. "Okay Beatrix, okay." He then hugs her and she hugs him. Luna, Bumper Sr and Jancey had no clue what that was even about, but they can see that two of their kids have already bonded with some kind of big sister and little brother moment. They then break the hug and Lincoln and Beatrix wave goodbye and Lincoln and Luna wave goodbye to the Yates as they all head onto their merry way.
Luna closes the door and looks to Lincoln. "What the heck was that about?"
Lincoln smiles and he leaves the basket of brownies onto the dining room table. "Let's just say that, I think I made a big sister figure within Beatrix."
Hearing that made Luna smiles. "Then maybe she can come over and visit, she seems like the only Yates we can trust. After all, she did testify for you during the court."
"Yeah, she did" replied Lincoln. "So, is there anything else we can do around here, or are you feeling like we should go and do something?"
Luna chuckles. "I like that way of thinking Linc, we already finished the small chores here. Also, I was thinking we skip chores tomorrow and just chillax here in the house or o hang out with our pals. How does that sound?"
Lincoln smiles. "That sounds like a good idea, I could chill with my buddies Clyde, Liam, Zach, Rusty and Flat Tire at the arcade." Then he has an idea from seeing the basket of brownies. "I think I know what we can do for today mom. Let's go out for a small picnic."
Luna smiles and ruffles his hair. "Now that sounds like a rad idea little dude. Let's get the things ready." Lincoln and Luna split up and get the things they need for a picnic, snacks, picnic blanket, drinks and of course Luna brought with her, her acoustic guitar.
They then head out, but they do wave goodbye to Great Grandma Harriet who smiles and waves back. Lincoln and Luna get into the car and they drive off. Great Grandma Harriet sighs and she heads to the living room and turns on the TV. "Finally." she then proceeds to watch her new favorite show. "The Unexplained, with your host William Shatner."
(Ketcham Park.)
Lincoln and Luna walk over to the open grassy grounds of the park, they both take in the fresh air and they look around. "This sure is peaceful, even with a few kids roaming around" said Lincoln as he places down the picnic blanket with Luna's help.
Luna then realizes. "You know, I have noticed that there aren't much kids in Royal Woods. Have some of them gone off to some Summer Vacations elsewhere?"
"They have" replied Lincoln as he places down the picnic basket and they proceed to place all the foods and snacks onto the blanket. "A lot of kids from my class all had plans to go someplace for the summer and have some fun, though mostly Jordan's friends and almost half the class at school."
Lincoln and Luna then sit down and enjoy this moment. "Well, things will be a total shocker for them when they come back to town and find out about what had happened, and Linc. I know you might get some issues with bullies, but like I said from before. Don't bother with them, just as long as you got some friends by your side, and one thing I know is that they'll be in total shock when they find out your dating Jordan Rosato. She's like the popular girl right?"
Lincoln chuckles at that one. "Yeah, she kinda is. Jordan is known throughout the school after they found out her dad runs the biggest shipping company in town. She also did host her birthday party long ago and of course I was there to attend it."
"Well, let's try and make sure the kids at school don't find out about our livelihood" said Luna as she grabs a sandwich from the basket. "If they find out we're rich, then they'll start wanting to chum up with you and make friends."
They both continue to enjoy eating some food and chatting about things that might happen at school. Until someone greets them. "Hello Lincoln, Hello Luna. You two seem well." Lincoln and Luna recognize those voices and they see who it was, Howard and Harold McBride and with them are they're cats Cleopawtra and Nepurrtiti.
"You gotta be kidding me?" groaned Lincoln and Luna. "Well, this is gonna make our day,"
"It's nice to see you two here at the park, it is after all a lovely day and we were walking our cats they need the exercise after all" replied Howard. The two cats look to the food Lincoln and Luna were eating but they were pulled back. "Cleopawtra, Nepurrtiti no. You two already ate and we are still putting you two on the strict diet, also it's not lunch time yet."
The two cats just grumble in silence, they wanted something to eat and what they had for breakfast wasn't even enough to make them satisfied or full. "So, how are you two doing?" asked Harold.
Lincoln and Luna don't say anything, and Lincoln notices Clyde wasn't there which meant he was busy elsewhere with the other guys. He wishes Clyde was there, he's the only guy who could hold back his dads before trouble starts up.
"Listen, we know we haven't been on the right foot lately after what had happened when Lincoln was sick, and we're glad to see you back and healthy" said Harold. "We were just trying to help out, Clyde is worried about Lincoln and so are we."
"Clyde also understands how Lincoln feels and respects his privacy, but sometimes a little bit of help even when you don't need it is necessary" replied Howard. "We didn't mean to act like that to you and Lincoln when he was sick, we just wanted to make sure he was getting the right necessaries to be healthy and back in tip top shape, like how we do it with Clyde."
Luna is close to her boiling point with these two. "Except that Lincoln isn't like Clyde."
Harold and Howard did hear what she said and they know about that one. "Well, true. Lincoln isn't Clyde, but he is just a kid and a kid like Lincoln may have some things he needs to go by on a daily basis. Also, it's been a long while since Lincoln has come by and visited our home, perhaps you two could have dinner at our place. We can discuss some things that could help you two."
Harold then looks to the brownies. "Are these brownies filled with nuts, and if so what kind of nuts?"
Luna sighs and looks to Lincoln. "Son, I think I lost my appetite." She puts her guitar back in its case.
Lincoln also agrees. "No kidding, I lost mine when they started talking." Lincoln puts the drinks away.
"No, no, no. We didn't mean to ruin your picnic" said Howard. "We just wanted to talk, there seems to be no harm in that."
"We just wanna help you two. This small family you have is new and of course, Luna is only 15 and it's not going to be easy for either of you two go by with this new livelihood" said Harold. "Also, when did you two renovate your house? We saw it earlier when we were driving all the way here."
"And we would like to see what are the changes to the place, there could be some minor details that the people you hired may have missed" replied Howard.
Lincoln slowly scooches away as his mother gets up, and looks to the two McBride's with a mean shotgun glare, which startles them. "We don't need help from you two, you two wanna help us? Then back off and leave us be to our own stuff otherwise I will not hesitate to get a restraining order to make sure you two keep clear from me and my son, also the people who renovated the house are the people who helped us in the past, including the Rosato's who seem to be a good family who understands how Lincoln and I feel, unlike you two!"
Harold and Howard remain silent at Luna's words. "Also, Clyde doesn't know how Lincoln feels or how he's been doing things. I have been there for Lincoln since he came to the house since day 1, I was the one who was there for him when he needed comfort the most, I was the one who was listened to his little problems, I was the very reason he worked his hardest as an older sibling and I am the one who was Lincoln's first friend, as he was to me." Lincoln smiled hearing that, it brought back some nice memories. Memories of a past they once shared as siblings, also she was right about one thing. Luna was Lincoln's friend way before he met Clyde McBride.
"Is there a problem here?" they see Officer Tristen walk towards them, he seems to be on patrol.
"No Officer Tristen D. Pingrey, there isn't" replied Luna with a smirk. She then looks to Howard and Harold. "These two gentleman were just leaving now, nothing more."
Harold and Howard recall this man from the court house and he seems to be a family friend to Lincoln and Luna Loud. They decide to take their leave before things get worse. "Hey!" they stop and look to Lincoln. "Clyde will understand, that I won't be visiting your house, until the two of you stop meddling with me and my mom. I think that's a clear thought from me." They then take their leave.
Lincoln and Luna look to Tristen. "Thanks for coming on time dude" replied Luna.
"No problem, I was just on patrol until I got a call that the McBride's were here at the park and bothering you" replied Tristen. "The call was from her." They all see Jesse Rosato, walking Ajax and waves at them.
Lincoln and Luna wave back at her. 'The Rosato's' really are a nice family to trust.' Lincoln then looks to officer Tristen. "So, how's Lily?"
"She's doing pretty great" replied Tristen. "Elena and I have had little pooping issues from her, doctor's found out that she's been eating so much when she lived under the large family that she has had a habit of pooping a lot, well Elena and I have been giving her some healthy food that helps with her pooping issues and she seems happier, oh and she just learned how to finish a ten piece puzzle. Smart kid."
Lincoln and Luna smiled hearing that, Lily was becoming healthy and learning faster than before. They really wanted to one day hang out with her, like old times sakes.
(Later, somewhere at an Intersection.)
Lincoln and Luna stop the car at a red light, the windows to the car are down due to the fact it is really hot today, and the AC in the car isn't doing much with the heat wave. "Sorry about going out today mom, I didn't think it'd be this hot" said Lincoln.
Luna looks to Lincoln. "It wasn't your fault Lincoln, we didn't know that there would be an unexpected heat wave today." Then she sees Lincoln looking at someone. "Lincoln? Something wrong?" she then looks to what he's looking at and her eyes go wide in shock.
Right there, on the left side of the side walk, they see her. Lucy, Lucy Shapiro. The former sister of theirs and now the little sister to Maggie Shapiro, the emo of Royal Woods Middle School.
Lucy is also looking at them, she still wore the same thing she usually wears and they were looking at her with the new clothes on them. All three of them have no words to eve say, they just look to each other.
"Hello" said Lucy. Lincoln gets a bit nervous and says nothing. Lucy understands that he feels uncomfortable and decides to leave. "Sigh."
But then the door to the car opens and Luna sees Lincoln going towards her. 'Oh boy.'
"Lucy." Lucy stops walking and stays still, she knows Lincoln is right behind her and she was feeling some slight fear from the very presence of the white haired boy who was once her bog brother. She didn't know what would happen if she turned around and faced him. She was scared of Lincoln, and Luna.
"Lucy, please turn around" said Lincoln. Lucy knew that it was her turn to grow up and face the past, the past that she didn't save, and the future she never got a chance to be a part of. When she turns around she's surprised by Lincoln hugging her.
Lincoln tightens the embrace. "It's good to see you Luce, it's good to see you back in town Lucy." Lucy starts to tremble and slowly she hugs Lincoln back and lets her tears fall.
Luna sees this and smiles, she knew that Lincoln was improving and trying to cope with the past that made them who they are now. Luna sees no other cars in the area, so she parks her car nearby and she gets out and she goes over and hugs them both. "Hey there Lucy."
Soon, they break the hug and Lucy looks to them, but she doesn't say anything. Lincoln and Luna know she doesn't know what to say. "Lucy, if you ever wanna talk." Luna hands her a paper with the numbers to their phones. "Call us, and we can meet someplace and interact." Lucy takes it, smiles and nods.
Lincoln and Luna smile, they were planning to find some closure with their former little sister. "Lucy" they all turn around and see Maggie who was smiling. "We should head back home now, come on little sis." Lucy nods and follows her. Maggie looks to Lincoln and Luna and she nods, she knows that this was a good head start into making amends with their shattered past.
Lincoln and Luna watch them leave, and they also head back to the car and drive off home. They had a lot to tell Great Grandma Harriet.
(Skip, The Loud House: Night time.)
Luna turns off all the cameras and she closes the door to the room, she sees all the house lights are off and Harriet walks by the stairs and into the kitchen. Even though they have the new enhanced security from the renovations, Harriet still acts as the secondary security.
Luna then goes back to the room, and she sees Lincoln putting his laptop away and then he sees Luna. "Hey mom, I'm ready for bed and I was just going through some last minute things on what to do for my second date with Jordan tomorrow."
Luna chuckles hearing that. "Well, that's nice of you to do sweetie. Though, I do have an idea that could work. Sam and I are also planning on going on a date tomorrow, how about you guys come with us and it becomes a double date. How's that?"
Lincoln smiles hearing that. "I think it's a great idea mom and I know Jordan will be okay with it too." Then he looks to the calendar. "And you can count on me to be there for your gig."
Luna looks to the calendar and she does recall that one. "Oh, I was going to say it was fine for you to stay home. But, if you insist then okay sweetie."
She then goes over to Lincoln and puts him into her warm embrace and he returns the hug. They both stay like this and then something comes up into Luna's thoughts. "Lincoln, are you willing to talk to Lucy again? After all that has happened?"
Lincoln takes in some thought to this. "Yes, yes I am. I wanna know how she's been doing and I have some questions to ask her, about that day it all happened. I wanna know how she feels and if she truly did wanted to help me when I was at my weakest."
Luna can tell her son is being brave and wants to see this through, and so does she. "Very well then Linc, if you're willing to do this then so am I. I also wanna know from little miss spooky, but we do not tell her about Great Grandma Harriet and neither do we even invite her to our place, she might still be scarred."
Lincoln nods. "Understandable mom."
They soon break the hug and both of them get to bed. They had a lot to think about after they're run in with Luc, but they'll have to put those thoughts aside for a while. Tomorrow, they have a double date to attend.
A/N: I do hope this chapter was fine, it was the best I could come up with. Next will be the double date of Lincoln, Jordan, Luna and Sam, and a little spoiler, afterwards is a visit to Aunt Ruth, then the talk with Lucy and then the Luna's gig. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
