As of usual from almost all that I have written, this one focuses on dealing Luna's band mates, Sam and of course Lincoln and what he heard from last night, but mostly Luna trying to deal with the fact of her music career and trying to balance out her thrill for the winning musical goal, there's going to be a lot of emotions blaring and constant hugging. Enjoy reading folks.
Family of two.
Chapter 16: Talk with the band and the son
(The Loud house.)
This is a morning that isn't going to be feeling anything but normal and not because there's the ghost of the great grandma. Harriet finishes making breakfast and puts all of the cooking tools into the sink and they start to wash themselves. She recalls what happened when Lincoln and Luna came back home.
She then sees two figures come into the kitchen, Lincoln and Luna. Both of them have finished using the bathroom and are changed into some much clean clothes since they slept in their clothes from yesterday, both Lincoln and Luna don't look like they're in the mood for anything to talk about.
Luna and Lincoln grab a plate of bacon, eggs and a glass of orange juice and they head to the dining room, Luna sits down and Lincoln pushes the other seat close to her and they both eat silently.
Luna and Lincoln barely look at each other or even wanna talk to each other. Lincoln then swallows his food and tries to calm down, but his emotions were starting to overwhelm him.
Luna stops eating and she turns to her son and can see his shoulders shuddering and she sees his face not looking happy and he drops his spoon and fork and starts to sob, Luna puts her utensils down and hugs her son and does he best to comfort him, Lincoln hugs her back and cries into her shirt.
Luna rubs his back and strokes his hair to calm him down, she knows he's still in distress after what had happened last night and she can't find the will to even forgive herself for all those words she said to her band mates. Luna wants to blame Sully and Mazzy for coming up with the idea of reuniting and making her seek out the old thrill of Luna Loud, but the only person she can blame at the moment is herself.
Great Grandma Harriet watches as all of this falls apart, she really wants to know what the hell happened to Lincoln and Luna last night. But she knows she's not getting an answer from either of them anytime soon, so she has to be patient. But a part of her is feeling kinda restless. Get it? Ghost joke!
Luna then continues to hug Lincoln and then she feels him calming down. "Ar …. Are you alright, son?"
Lincoln breaks away from Luna's hug and sniffs. "Y-Yeah, I think I'm a-alright." Lincoln wipes away his tears and sighs. "Mom, what …. What is going on?"
Luna then strokes his white hair and kisses his forehead. "I …. I don't know any more bud, but I will do whatever I can to fix what ….. What I almost broke in you. I'm so, so sorry Lincoln." Luna then hugs her son once again. "Everything … Everything is not gonna be easy again, it ….. It feels like bad times from the old family are …. Are haunting us."
Lincoln holds his mom's arms. "I don't wanna feel like this anymore, and I know you would n-never mean what you s-said last night. I blame myself for t-tagging along, I should've s-stayed home."
Luna then looks down to him and she feels some slight trembling from her white-haired kid. "Lincoln, listen to me. Today I have to go and talk to some people, people who ….. Who pushed me into that gig last night, it was supposed to be an epic comeback for my musical career. But I was once again blinded by the light and I fell back to old times. Old times that we're not supposed to fall back onto." Luna and Lincoln break from the hug. "You think you're okay being here? Great Grandma Harriet can keep you company." She then wipes away his fresh tears.
"Mom, I wanna come with you" replied Lincoln. Luna was worried he might say that. "I wanna …. I wanna talk to them as well, for what happened last night. I wanna know what they have to say."
Luna knows that might happen and she is prepared for it. "Okay Linc, okay." They hug one last time and then they continue to eat their breakfast. Great Grandma Harriet watches this and is getting an uneasy feeling. She needed to know what the hell happened.
(Skip, an hour later.)
Lincoln and Luna are back in their room and Luna grabs her jacket and bag and then she looks to her phone and texts. "Sam, call in Sully, Mazzy and Chunk to your place. We're having a meeting and I'm bringing Lincoln there too. Are your rents home or your brother?"
She then gets a reply from Sam. "My mom and dad and Simon aren't home, they went to the mall to buy him some school supplies, so we can have that talk here at my place. I'll make the call to the others, I'll tell Chunk to pick them up and bring them here. I know that there are a lot of things that have to be said and I understand if these things are going to be complicated as well as hard for the others to think about, but they have to try and understand. Things are changing for the better and I got your back babe, see you here later."
Luna then puts her phone into her bag and she follows Lincoln out of the room. "You know I can just drop you off and Gus', you can play some games there and maybe hang out with your pals and gal."
Lincoln shakes his head. "No, I wanna come with you and talk with your friends. I wanna know how they feel and what they have to say after what h-happened last n-night." Lincoln starts to tremble a bit, Luna stops him and pulls him into a hug.
"If things go wrong, then I'll do whatever I can to make sure you don't lose your cool. I'll be there and I'll keep you company, Sam is also there and can help out too. She's always got our back, through and through" replied Luna as she rubs his back.
Lincoln calms down once again and they both walk down the stairs. Then they see Great Grandma Harriet waiting for them in the living room. "Hello Lincoln, Hello Luna." She then looks to Luna. "Luna, I would like to speak to you alone, it's urgent."
Luna knows that she wants to talk to her about last night. Luna looks to Lincoln. "Lincoln, can you wait in the car for me?"
Lincoln nods. "Okay mom, I'll wait in the car." Luna hands him the keys and Lincoln leaves the house and gets into the passenger seat of the Purple Ferrari.
Luna then sits next to Great Grandma Harriet on the couch. "You're probably wondering what the heck is going on between Lincoln and me, and what happened last night. Right?"
Harriet looks to her. "Tell me everything, and leave no detail unchecked. I need to know what happened between you and Lincoln and why he is a wreck once again. This is not good for both of you."
Luna then tells Great Grandma Harriet what happened at her band's epic comeback gig at Bangers n' Mosh, Luna sheds some tears as she recalls what she says and how it hurt her to see her son look to her with the same face he had when he was outcasted by the family. Harriet remains silent through the whole thing.
"I ….. I should've s-said no. I ….. I should've de-denied the gig, but ….. They in-insisted." Luna wipes away her tears and feels as if she failed the role she wanted to be given, she feels like total garbage for saying all those words. The words of the old loud ways.
Harriet places her hand onto Luna's shoulder. "Luna, what you said last night was stupid, cruel, mean and just plain horrid." Luna looks down with guilt. "But, this new life you are making with your former brother now son Lincoln is tough and not an easy task to come by. As you and Lincolns said, there will be hardships and these are one of those hardships next to returning enemies." Harriet then looks to Luna and wipes away her tears.
"I am not angry at you Luna, you share an extremely strong bond with Lincoln and I respect and love that about the two of you. But I am disappointed at what you said and how foolish it was for you to leave him with barely any familiar or comforting company, Chester Monk doesn't seem like the "I can be like Luna" type. You could've called someone else to come with you, like that girl who saved Lincoln, Beatrix Yates or even ask Jordan to come to the backstage and be there." Luna can see she should've planned ahead.
"You have to make things right again with Lincoln, he's heartbroken inside and his love for his mother is trying to heal him from his pain and suffering from the memories of the past. Do not lose him, or you'll never forgive yourself ever again, even if he does say he forgives you." Luna nods.
"Okay, I get it. I know what to do." Luna gets up from the couch and looks to Harriet. "Thanks for this talk Great Grandma Harriet, I'll talk to my band with the choice I made and I'll make sure they understand, or I'll have to make the hard choice onto them."
Harriet smiles and hugs Luna, Luna then hugs her back. "Family matters, it always does. The others have lost my trust, respect and love. But I have not forsaken you and Lincoln, now go and talk this over with your son and your friends." They then break from the hug and Luna heads out of the house.
Luna opens the driver's door and she sees Lincoln looking at the picture of himself when he was a baby being held by Luna. Lincoln then puts the picture back into his wallet and he relaxes onto the seat. Luna sighs and gets in and she starts the engine. "You ready?"
Lincoln nods, and they slowly back out of the driveway and head off to the Sharp House. All while Great Grandma Harriet watches them leave. "You got this Luna, I believe in you."
(Sharp House.)
The purple loud Ferrari makes it to the house and parks right behind Chunk's van. Luna and Lincoln exit the car and they look onto the van of Luna's Roadie. "Alright kiddo, this is it." Luna then offers her hand and Lincoln accepts it. Both of them walk towards the house of the Sharp Family.
Luna rings the doorbell and she hears someone unlocking it. It was Sam. "Hey guys, glad you could make it."
Luna and Sam share a small hug, then Sam goes down to Lincoln. "Ho-how are you feeling there kid?"
Lincoln looks away and sighs. "Trying to … Trying to get my bearings back into me, I guess."
Luna and Sam felt a bit sad to hear that from the kid. "Come here bud." Sam then pulls Lincoln into a hug. Lincoln is not surprised and hugs her back, Lincoln sees Sam as a secondary parent since she is dating his mom and he trusts her. She seems as nice as Sam is.
They then break the hug and enter the house, when they pass through the front door they see them in the living room. Chunk, Sully and Mazzy. The loyal Roadie and the two band mates who made this happen. Luna shows no emotion towards them, but Lincoln looks away nervously. Luna takes Lincoln's hand and they both sit onto the arm chair together. Sam comes in and sits onto the other chair next to Luna and Lincoln's.
There is an ominous silence in the room, between Luna, Sam, Lincoln, Sully, Mazzy and Chunk. Then Mazzy speaks up. "Luna, we understand what you're going through right now." She then looks to her friend. "Sully and I …. We didn't think it right and we should've went to some plans into figuring out how it could've went down, we should never have planned that comeback behind you and Sam's backs. We're a band and we look out for each other."
"Mazzy and I should've let you guys in on the plan and not hide it and we're sorry for making you feel the old Luna back into you" replied Sully. "It was a dumb, no! It was a stupid idea for that epic comeback gig, we were the ones who were stupid and we're really sorry about. Sorry to you, to Sam but most especially to Lincoln." Sully then holds Mazzy's hand, they both look to each other and then to Luna. "We deserve whatever it is you have to say to us."
Luna just looks towards them with the same blank expression, Lincoln holds his mom's hand and sees her fingers trembling, and Sam and Chunk look back and forth between their band leader and Sully and Mazzy.
Luna sighs. "We could've had someone plan what we were doing, and that's what I was here for. I make up the plans and see through what could happen next. I understand the people in the band and the people who wanna come along with us. I make sure that the venue we go to is good enough and we get paid as promised. See through all the gear more than five times and walk through the lyrics we made." They can tell she was pissed off. "And yes, what you two dimwits did was stupid!" Luna looks to Sully and Mazzy, with a shotgun glare. The two band mates feel as if they were getting shot into their souls from her motherly mean look.
"You two planned the whole thing without me knowing, I thought I could trust you two in doing it on your own, you convinced me to trust you guys that you can do it, you two wanted me to feel the old spark of the old me and make me love the gig and look at where it has led to now!" Luna looks to them like an angry momma bear. "My kid is shattered in his little scarred heart from the place and to the fact I spoke the wrong words from the old Luna Loud, the Luna Loud who was blinded by music and her own passions and never game anything about the feelings to the rest of the family!"
They were all sensing a lot of fiery tension within Luna, and they know it is going to be an earful. "You lost my trust and all of my respect to the both of you! You two thought it was going to be okay for me to do this gig because unlike you dorks! I have a kid who was once my brother and you both have never had a little sibling in your home, you're both the only child in both your families! You guys had my back when the stupid bad luck started ….. But you guys lost my words of loyalty when I spoke the wrong language at the wrong time."
Sully and Mazzy then see Lincoln covering his ears and looking down trying to pretend he didn't hear anything. He was getting scared.
"Now, I have to help my son get through another back stabbing, heart ripping torment. All of this, is just a reminder of my old self the old Luna Loud" replied Luna. "Sam has my back because she knows what it's like to be given a responsible role, she has her little brother Simon and Chunk has a brother and sister who are back in his home country and they still keep in touch and he still talks to them." Luna glares onto Sully and Mazzy. "What do you two have?"
Those words were enough to make Mazzy shed some tears and Sully as well. Luna then goes to her son and sits next to him, she picks him up and lets him sit on her lap and hug Lincoln while his ears are being covered by his hands. Sam reaches and rubs Lincoln's back.
Luna looks to Sully and Mazzy again. "I made my choice, we're breaking up the band." They all look to her, and Lincoln hears this as well and looks to his mom in shock.
Sully and Mazzy are shocked by this. "W-What?
Chunk is also lost in thought. "You can't be serious Luna."
Sam on the other hand, understand this. "I understand and I think you're making the right call."
Luna sighs once again. "I am breaking up the band, only temporarily. Until this whole mess is sorted out." She then recalls what she had planned. "I have some things figured out. We can still be together in the music club, but I won't be staying there too long and I have to return back home to check on Lincoln, Sam and I will still be a band of our own, a duet band." Luna looks to Sully and Mazzy. "You two can do whatever the heck you want, you can ask Chunk to tag along. We can get back together when the time is right or when I make the call. Are we clear?"
Sully, Mazzy and Chunk are stunned and almost feel as if their musical pride was torn out. But seeing Lincoln just looking at them with that miserable look. Reminded them of when he was in the squirrel suit and they all helped him, they feel as if they have become the louds and left Lincoln to rot.
"We understand Luna, whatever works" said Mazzy.
"We'll wait for when you think we can be a band again" replied Sully.
"I am loyal to be your roadie, but I guess I am also loyal to the whole band" said Chunk. "I'll do whatever I can to be there for all of you."
"Well, looks like it's just gonna be Luna and me" said Sam. "But we're all going to have to try and get through this, if Luna and Lincoln are changing the way their lives are now, then we should also do the same. You all made some mistakes, and now it's time to own up to them."
Sully and Mazzy understood that one loud and clear, and that's why they made Sam second command to the band. They then look to Lincoln.
"Lincoln, we're sorry we made your mom do that" said Sully. "We should've stopped when we had the chance."
"And we shouldn't have chosen the place where it all happened as the venue" replied Mazzy. "You seem fine where the people eat, but we know you don't like to be backstage. We're really sorry Lincoln."
Lincoln can see they feel bad for their actions and for the ones who started this, and it made him recall Lynn Junior. Lincoln remains silent and just hugs Luna. Sully and Mazzy can see they're not getting any forgiveness from Lincoln any time soon, or ever.
Luna kisses Lincoln's forehead as she hugs him. "I also have a part to play in this." They all look to Luna. "I brought Linc with me, because I thought it would be a good idea and I didn't want him to be left alone with no company, even if there was a friendly ghost. I was the one who spoke those words about how I missed it, and I was the one who broke my little boy's heart." Luna tightens her hug onto Lincoln.
"Mom." Luna opens her eyes and looks to Lincoln. "I was the one who convinced you to bring me along, this was all on me. If I had just stayed home then … Then maybe this wouldn't have happened." Lincoln looks down with guilt.
Luna raises his head to look to her and he kisses his cheek. "You don't have to say that Linc, we're all at fault here and we all have to own up to what we did and try and get through this." Lincoln sheds some tears and hugs his mom tightly and she returns the tight embrace.
Sam, Chunk Sully and Mazzy all look down with some guilt. They all had a part to play in this chaotic conflict of misery and pain.
Sully and Mazzy planned the whole gig that reignited the old Luna Loud, Sam supported and was convinced and so was Luna, Chunk was the adult in the group and should've done something, Luna spoke the wrong words and hurt her son mentally and Lincoln convinced to Luna that he wanted to come and watch her perform. They all had made wrong from the incident last night, and they have to try and fix it.
Soon, Luna gets up while carrying Lincoln. She looks to all of them. "The Luna-tics are officially disbanded, until further notice." They all agreed to this, even though it hurt them inside.
Sully and Mazzy get up and they walk out the door with Chunk following. Luna looks to Sam and they share a small kiss. "I wish I could go with you and Linc, but I gotta stay home and look after the place."
Luna smiles. "I understand and so does Lincoln." She then let's Lincoln down and he goes and hugs Sam.
"It's okay little dude, Sammy is here now." Sam embraces Lincoln, all the boy can do was hug the blonde and thank her for her support in this. Sam was greatful that she hasn't lost her love and trust from Luna and Lincoln.
They then break the hug and Sam looks towards Luna. "Do you want me to hold onto your stuff?"
Luna nods. "I don't want my axe, or my drums, or my keyboard or even my amps to come home, yet. But I will come back tomorrow to pick them up and place them into storage, its better this way. The only thing I will keep around is the one instrument that knows how to keep things mellow. My good old trusty acoustic guitar."
Sam smiles hearing this. "Now that is a good idea." They then share one final hug and then part ways. "See you guys soon."
Luna and Lincoln walk out of the house and they see Sully and Mazzy standing next to Chunk's van. They overheard what she said. "Luna, if you want any help moving your stuff, we can back you up" said Sully.
Luna sighs. "Tomorrow, I will bring all of my instruments out of the house so we can all pack them into the van and my car. Great Grandma Harriet already knows about this and if any of you three step into the house, I can't guarantee you'll walk out alive." The very thought of the old ghost going berserk was enough to scare them. "And be lucky I didn't bring her with us, or things could've went Blair Witch all over the place."
Luna opens the passenger's door and Lincoln steps in, Luna goes to the driver's side and hops in. The Ferrari's engine starts and it drives off. Sam closes the door to her home and Sully and Mazzy sigh and they go into Chunk's van and they drive off.
The band known as the Luna-Tics is now divided and broken up, until the time comes for them to be a band once again. For now, they all have to try and get through this new change. Luna and Lincoln need to rekindle and fix the nearly shattered mother and son bond they have, it's not going to be easy. But they'll find a way to get through.
(The Loud House.)
Luna parks her car into the driveway. Lincoln and Luna spot an ambulance drive off. "What the heck was that about?" asked Lincoln.
"Bud Grouse." Lincoln and Luna turn around and they see Detective Sandra Merris. "Old Grouse was trying to fix some fallen pictures on his wall, but the ladder supporting him broke and he fell and broke his leg. He'll be fine."
"Oh dang man! Way harsh on the old guy" said Luna feeling bad.
"It's not gonna be easy for him to for around with a hurt leg" replied Lincoln. He tries not to recall when he was on a wheel chair.
Soon, Lincoln and Luna walk back into the house after saying goodbye to Merris, though Luna did tell Merris she was going to the Royal Woods Storage Center to store some stuff until further notice. Merris wishes to help them, and doesn't ask why or what happened.
Lincoln and Luna notice Great Grandma Harriet is nowhere to be seen, but they do hear the washing machine turn on. "She must be handling the laundry, but we only do that on weekends" replied Lincoln.
"I think this is her way of calming down after what's been happening" said Luna. "Let's leave her be." Luna and Lincoln head upstairs and they see a note on the door. "Huh, it's from Great Grandma Harriet." They both read it.
"Lincoln, Luna. If you two are now home and I am busy, then I should let you know that Jordan, Clyde, Liam, Zach, Rusty, that rocker girl and some kid named Flat Tire? They came to see how you were doing since Jordan was there last night. I told them that you and Luna had to talk to the band and settle down what has been happening and to give you guys some privacy, they respected this and left. Also Jordan said she'll call soon and so will Clyde."
Lincoln and Luna did not expect for Lincoln's gal and pals would come to visit, but they are greatful for Great Grandma Harriet in telling them not to bother them, right now the only company they need is each other.
Lincoln and Luna enter the room. Luna lays down on the lower bunk of the bed and Lincoln lays next to her. Luna then grabs her son and let him rest on her chest. Lincoln could hear his mother's heart beating, it was enough to make him sleepy and he soon falls asleep.
Luna sees this and tightens her hug on Lincoln and kisses his forehead. "I'm not making the same mistake again son, I'm not letting you down from what happened and I am not letting anything hurt you, especially from me." Soon, Luna herself has fallen asleep.
Both mother and son enjoy this afternoon nap in their warm embrace, dreaming of the old times, the old times of when they were really young and shared a Special Sibling Bond.
A/N: Took me three house and two bathroom breaks to make this one and trying to figure out who was at fault here for this. I hope this was okay, and next chapter is all about moving the stuff into storage and Lincoln interacting with Simon Sharp. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
Date made: 5/25/20.
