NOTE, PLEASE READ THIS OR ELSE YOU'LL BE CONFUSED:

This is an EXTRA chapter. This is not canon at all (it can be for your headcanon.) This is just for fun.

As it stands, this story is completely FINISHED.

Do not read this if you haven't already finished reading the story. This will literally make no sense otherwise.
I will be saying obvious things like "Zennon is Marie's lover" and whatnot, because the people who have read my story's last chapter may come back and have completely forgotten what happened because of how long it's been.

As for why I hadn't posted until now…I can only say this: Pokemon Violet took my life hostage LOL.

Enjoy!

EXTRA CHAPTER: The Rose Blooms, Part 1

The battle between Lucia and Beatrice was almost over. Beatrice and Ninetales were descending from the sky and landing onto the battlefield after landing a devastating attack on Lucia. Beatrice had done exactly what she had planned for: She baited Lucia into using Protect, then disabled it, so she couldn't protect herself from the next attack. Lucia and Salamence were falling from the sky, covered in smoke after that attack landed.

Beatrice and Ninetales landed first. Beatrice's flaming fox ears, blazing hair, and burning scarf flew in the wind.

Soon, Lucia and Salamence's bodies hit the ground in front of them. Lucia moaned in pain.

"It's all over," Beatrice said. She and her Ninetales aimed directly at their enemies. Beatrice with her bow made of flames, and Ninetales with his mouth open, and a blazing ball of fire forming in front of it.

"Well, well," Lucia said, grinning as she looked up at Beatrice. "You think you've already won, huh?"

"Of course I have," Beatrice said.

"Yeah, keep lying to yourself," Lucia said, crawling to her hands and knees. "I have…one more trick up my sleeve."

Beatrice narrowed her eyes.

"You should know me by now…" Lucia said, slowly standing up and then stumbling back to the ground. "Ugh! I admit it, though…" Lucia said, slowly climbing back to her feet again. She was on one knee by now. "You… could just take me out… right here, and right now but...is that really what you want-"

"Yes."

Beatrice and Ninetales fired their blasts of flame, which fused together to form an even bigger one.

Lucia's eyes widened. "NOOOOOOOOO-!"

A massive, mushroom-shaped explosion rang out the moment the attacks reached Salamence and Lucia. Beatrice and Ninetales' hair flew wildly against the wind as they watched the explosion. Soon, the mushroom cloud faded, and Lucia and Salamence were lying on the ground.

Lucia was unconscious, and so was her Salamence.

"The winner has been decided...!" The announcer cried. "The winner is Beatrice!"

The entire crowd began to roar in applause. Beatrice slowly approached the unconscious Lucia as the flames that took the form of her fox ears and scarf exploded like fireworks and disappeared. Her burning, flowing hair fell back down to its rightful place as Beatrice crouched down and placed a hand on Lucia's shoulder.

"I love you, little sister. But it's my victory. I'll win for both of us and become champion."

"D-Dang it…" Beatrice heard Anastasia's voice coming from behind her, the red haired girl spun around and saw Lucia's lover frowning. "I'm really conflicted… I'm sad that Lucia lost, but at the same time I'm happy that you won."

Beatrice smiled a sad and conflicted smile. "I feel the exact same way," Beatrice said.

Coming from the arena's exit came several Nurse joys and Chanseys carrying a stretcher for Lucia to lay on.

Anastasia hurried over to Lucia, pulled Salamence's pokéball from her pocket, and returned the dragon type into its ball. Then, as the nurses raised Lucia onto the stretcher, Anastasia held her lover's hand and smiled. "You did so well, Lucia. Get some rest." The white-haired girl said with a smile. She leaned and kissed Lucia's forehead before they carried her away.

Anastasia and Beatrice were the only ones left on the battlefield.

"You know," Anastasia said, "if Lucia had time to bring out her true power, she could have beaten you for sure!"

"What?" Beatrice replied, "True power?"

"Yeah," Anastasia said. "You beat her before she could use it, but Lucia can use Trust-borne fusion!"

Beatrice's jaw dropped. "Trust-borne Fusion!?" She cried. "You're bluffing- only Legendary Pokémon can grant that power!"

"Lucia's different- well, her invoker's different! I don't know the specifics, but because of her feelings with her Pokémon, she can fuse with them! Even if they aren't Legendary!"

"...What..!?" Beatrice said.

What does that mean? What would have happened if Lucia transformed...? Beatrice felt an encroaching terror slithering down her spine. If Lucia were to transform during their fight, would Beatrice be beaten? That meant if she didn't decide to take that shot on Lucia and hesitated for any reason, she would have lost. That meant that Beatrice's win over Lucia was because of luck. For whatever reason, Lucia didn't pull out that transformation immediately. If she had… then Beatrice could have stood no chance. And if she stood no chance against Lucia, then there a was a huge chance she would stand no chance against her father, Lucian, who was undoubtedly stronger…

No. she thought. Knowledge is power. If she had known about Lucia's transformation beforehand, she would have definitely won. She placed a hand on her rapidly beating heart to calm herself down. But for some reason, she wanted to know exactly what would happen if she knew beforehand about Lucia's transformation. No, she needed to know. If she didn't, then her confidence would dwindle into nothing.

Beatrice closed her eyes as she began to imagine the scenario.

"Are you ready, Ninetales?," Beatrice said. while standing in front of the front door that would lead her to the arena. She could hear the muffled cries of the spectators.

Her battle with Lucia was moments away from beginning. Whoever won would get their chance to fight Lucian and become the champion.

As she reached for the arena door, her fingers twitched. Ninetales, who stood beside Beatrice, looked up at his trainer in confusion.

The girl's breath was uneven, for she knew that Lucia could use trust-borne fusion.

"Ninetales," Beatrice said. "The moment I say the word, 'Zero', you and I will use agility to move quickly. Follow my lead once we speed up."

Ninetales nodded. Beatrice took in a deep breath before opening the doors that lead to the arena. A flash of sunlight welcomed the red haired girl's eyes and nearly blinded her. The cries of the spectators roaring and cheering reached her ears. From across the battlefield, she could see her opponents, Lucia and Salamence walking toward her.

Beatrice walked onward alongside Ninetales.

The two girls remained silent as they approached each other. Their looks of determination were fierce. Soon, the rivals were face to face- continuing their stare down.

"Hey, Beatrice?" Lucia said, grinding wildly as she flicked her wrist and summoned her sword made of Azure colored dragon flames. "Remember when you said we should separate? So that one of us could surpass the other?" Beatrice watched as Lucia pointed her blade at her. "Yeah, big mistake. I'm stronger than you are now."

Beatrice reached for her invoker that was a necklace around her neck and pressed on the brooch that was a button to activate it. Her entire body shone before she was encased in armor. The red-haired trainer could feel Ninetales' power transferring over to her as she exhaled loudly.

Lucia furrowed her brow. "Not gonna say anything? Gonna be quiet cause you think it's cool? Well fine!"

Lucia's entire body burst into azure flames and flew wildly- and immediately, the flames dispersed like fireworks to reveal the girl encased in armor made of dragon flame. Her sword became larger- a shield made of dragon flame came to her free hand.

"You can cry all you want…" Lucia said as she entered a battle stance. "After I beat you-"

"That's not your final form," Beatrice said.

Lucia's eyes widened in shock.

Everyone in the spectators' seats cried out in complete surprise.

"Wh-What do you mean?" Lucia said. "I- I-... This is my final form, I mean-"

"And you've just confirmed my suspicions," Beatrice said.

Lucia said nothing as she lowered her sword and shield and stood upward.

"Ya got me," Lucia said. "I wanted to save it for a surprise. Y'know, I didn't want it to end too quickly."

That last cocky remark meant that Lucia was scared. Beatrice had known her for far too long to not know that when Lucia is scared, she acts cocky to hide it.

"Well, since you want this match to end so fast, I guess Salamence and I can go all out from the start." Lucia and Salamance turned to look at each other, shared a nod, and then turned back to Beatrice. "We'll show you… the power of Trust-borne fusion!" Lucia's flaming armor, sword and shield burst into flames and disappeared. Both Salamence and Lucia closed their eyes.

The earth began to tremble. Salamence began to glow brightly- and turned into a ball of light which size rivaled a baseball's. Lucia raised her open palm as the ball of light flew above her fingers Lucia clenched her fist to grab the orb, and then, a shining orb formed around her entire body as an intense eruption of flame rose up.

As wind blew against Beatrice and Ninetales, a thought entered her mind. Watching Lucia and Salamence fuse reminded the young trainer of Mega evolution.

Soon, the orb cracked, and exploded outward as the pillar of flame remained. A shadowy silhouette of a person was the only thing that could be seen inside the pillar. The silhouette revealed itself to be Lucia, clad in flaming dragon armor. Her shoulder pads had the shape of dragons opening their mouths on them. Her helmet had the shape of a Dragon. She had a long flowing cape made of crimson flames. In her hands was not a sword nor a shield, but rather, a sheathed katana. An intense azure aura exploded around her as the red flowing cape flew upward and transformed into mighty red dragon wings. Lucia slammed the butt of her katana sheath into the ground and pressed her hands on the top of the stood like the captain of a legion of knights.

"And now you know…," Lucia spoke as a haunting echo trailed behind her voice. "You don't stand a chance against me."

That remark Lucia made wasn't fear out of, Beatrice thought. That was true confidence. Beatrice felt sweat roll down her face.

Ninetales growled as he entered a battle stance, he began to radiate the same fire-type energy he did when fighting against Aldrich in an instant.

Beatrice closed her eyes and took in a long deep breath through her nose. The moment she did this, her body flashed red before a fiery aura exploded around her. Fox ears made of flames appeared on the red-haired girl's head, along with a flaming scarf wrapped around her neck and a bow that appeared to her hand.

"I'll be honest." Beatrice said as her hair flowed wildly. "My chances of winning are low… But they aren't zero!"

In that instant, Ninetales and Beatrice disappeared, and then re-appeared behind Lucia. Beatrice's bow was drawn, Ninetales' mouth was open. Twin blasts of flame flew out toward Lucia who didn't even turn around- and a massive explosion leapt to life. Smoke covered the entire arena for a moment, and then slowly cleared. Beatrice and Ninetales glared furiously as they waited for the smoke to clear- and then true terror came to them the moment they saw Lucia standing with her back still turned.

It was as though she hadn't taken any damage.

"I don't think you get it, Beatrice," Lucia pulled her katana from the ground, turned around and entered a drawing stance. "Your chances of winning are less than zero!"

Lucia drew her sword, and a crescent wave of flame flew from it and hit Ninetales and Beatrice at a point blank range. A mushroom cloud sized explosion rang out as both Pokémon and trainer flew toward the colosseum walls and crashed into them. The smoke cleared as Both Beatrice and her Pokémon fell to the ground and slowly came to their feet. Almost reflexively, Beatrice brought her hand to her chest, where she was struck, and gasped loudly. There was a large, gaping slash mark on her armor. Electricity began to spark around her armor.

"What-... What have you done?!" Beatrice cried. "H-How..!?"

Lucia slowly stepped closer. "If your invoker armor breaks down, You won't be able to use Ninetales' power. Not only that, you'll be beaten in one attack.

"No!" Beatrice and Ninetales both fired a salvo of flame at the slowly approaching Lucia, who kept walking forward. Explosion after explosion rang out- Beatrice could see Lucia still approaching despite this. "NO!" Beatrice cried as she and Ninetales stopped firing. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

"I'm the future champion!" Lucia said. Lucia unfurled her wings and darted toward Beatrice. "And you're histo-"

"Beatrice!"

Beatrice's eyes widened as she screamed in fright. It was though she were waking up from a nightmare. The girl spun her body to face the one calling for her.

It was Lucian. He had his arms crossed and his eyebrows raised. "You okay? You can't just stand and doze off."

"I- !" Beatrice said.

"Why didn't you heal your Pokémon? Why were you just standing there doing nothing? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, it's just-.. I was thinking about things."

"Normally the moment our eyes meet, us trainers are supposed to fight, ready or not. But I'll be lenient and let you heal your Pokémon before we fight. You have to focus, Beatrice. This is your time to shine and show me what you've learned."

"I-...Y-Yeah. You're right." Beatrice said, nodding. "I'll go heal my Pokémon…. But first, I want to visit Lucia. T-To see if she's fine."

"Uh… Normally we wouldn't allow that, but uh, sure. I'll allow it. Just this once. I'll give you about ten minutes."

"You're too kind." Beatrice smiled and walked off toward the arena's exit.

"DAMN IT!" Beatrice slammed her fist against the outside walls of the Pokémon League. She was standing beside the front doors.

She knew Lucia was going to be fine, there was no need to check on her. She had just said that to Lucian to buy more time to think.

What was she going to do? That theoretical battle she was having in her head was clear- Beatrice was no match for Lucia. And if she were no match for Lucia, she was definitely going to lose against Lucian. Tears started welling up the red-haired girl's eyes. She sniffled and wiped her eyes.

She almost didn't want to show up to the battle, because she would be humiliated.

"Damn… it…" The shame was becoming overwhelming.

What would her foster father say to the failure who shamed their family name?

What would her butler say, after working so hard just to make this battle happen?

What would Quinton say-

Beatrice nearly gasped. What would Quinton, her biological father, say?...

"How can you and I share the same blood if you don't strive for greatness?!" Beatrice's memories of what Quinton said when she first asked him to train her echoed in the girl's mind like a record player. "If you want to be trained by me, you'd better not stop once you become as strong as me- you have to go even higher! Don't you ever fight a battle assuming you've already lost! It doesn't matter who your opponent is, be it me, or Arceus itself! Do you understand!? You can defeat Anybody! You WILL be the best! There are no if, ors, or butts. Do you understand!?"

Beatrice wiped away her tears, she nodded to herself as she clenched her fists.

"Yeah… You're right..." Beatrice said. "You were right then, and you're still right now… Father." Beatrice nodded to herself and turned around to go back into the building. She was on her way to go back to the Arena with a newfound resolve rising within her. As she walked, Beatrice decided to imagine how her theoretical battle between herself and Lucia would conclude if she had this resolve she felt at this moment.

She closed her eyes.

"I'm the future champion," Lucia said. Beatrice and Ninetales' backs were on the walls of the Arena. Beatrice's invoker was severely damaged. "And you're history!" Lucia continued. The transformed, trust-borne Lucia used her newfound power to take flight as darted toward her opponent.

Beatrice pointed her finger at Lucia. "Ninetales, Disable!"

A loud heart-beat sound echoed in Lucia's mind as suddenly, she stopped moving. She turned her head to see that the wings she had used to take flight suddenly began to fold and turn back into a flaming red cape.

"What?!" Lucia cried.

"That transformation boosted your speed quite a bit," Beatrice said. "There has to be a reason for it, and I concluded… it's because of those wings!"

Lucia's eyes widened.

"I'm right, aren't I?" Beatrice said.

"That doesn't matter, you still can't put a scratch on me!" Lucia cried.

"Not yet I can't. Ninetales! Firespin!"

Following his trainer's command, Ninetales rushed forward, blowing a torrent of flame that flew toward Lucia and started to spiral around her.

Lucia looked about, watching as the flames began to close in around her and obstruct her movement.

"My father doesn't tolerate defeat," Beatrice said as a flaming aura began to rise around her. "I cannot lose, no matter who or what stands in my way! Be it you… or God himself!" Beatrice slowly raised her bow and arrow. "I am Beatrice… and I am the greatest trainer to ever live! Ninetales! Use Power swap!"

"What?!" Lucia cried.

Suddenly, Lucia felt all of her power drain from her body- her armor and katana began to crack.

"Whoa!" Marie cried.

"What's going on?! Why is Lucia's armor fading away?!" Anastasia shouted.

Zennon pushed in his glasses. "I get it... Power Swap's allowing Beatrice to steal Lucia's power temporarily and make it her own...! And at the same time, swapping her inferior power to Lucia, making her weaker in the process!"

"Wait," Anastasia said, "If Beatrice has Lucia's power... then..!"

All of Lucia's power began to flow into Beatrice's bow, which exploded in flames as it grew ten times larger. Both Ninetales and Beatrice focused with all of their might.

"GO!" Beatrice cried. She fired an arrow large enough to rival a skyscraper. It flew toward the trapped Lucia, and the moment it made contact, a massive, laser-like explosion shot toward the sky, blinding all of the spectators.

Lucia screamed loudly as the explosion raged on. Her armor, which had begun to break down, slowly shattered and turned into ash as the light from the eruption consumed her.

Soon, the raging laser slowly faded into nothing, leaving Salamence and Lucia, who had unfused, defeated and lying on the ground unconscious.

Beatrice and Ninetales were breathing heavily. "Thank you, Father…" She said. "You've saved me from my uncertainty once again."

"The winner of the match is Beatrice..!" The announcer cried.

Beatrice slowly opened her eyes.

She had finished her theoretical battle and had won. She smiled a confident smile as she stood in front of champion Lucian in the middle of the Arena. The spectators roared in excitement.

"Are you prepared?" Lucian said. "Healed your Pokémon?"

"I have to admit, Lucian, I didn't feel the need to."

Lucian furrowed his brow. "I'm sorry?"

"Did you not hear me? Perhaps your hearing is gone, considering how old you are. I'll repeat myself. I. Didn't. Feel. The. Need. To. Heal. My. Pokémon."

Lucian chuckled a bit. "You're pretty rude all of a sudden… What's up with you?"

"I'm only trying to get my win over and done with." Beatrice said, smiling even wider.

"Hm…you're reminding me of your father."

"Good."

Lucian's eyebrows raised. "All right then." Lucian said. "Allow me to respond in kind." Lucian closed his eyes and crossed his arms. He roared at the top of his lungs as dragon flames surged about his body. Then, the flames around Lucian exploded as he uncrossed his arms. His pink hair became a shining blue. His skin became jet black and shined with a diamond like color. His left eye was now crimson, and the white of his eyes were replaced with a deep black.

"I still have Dialga's power within me! Well?" Lucian said. "Surprised? Nervous?"

Beatrice didn't even flinch. Lucian glared.

"Well-" Lucian pulled out his Pokeball. "The rules say that I'm allowed to put out a Pokémon despite being transformed...!" He threw his Pokéball, and out of it came Flygon, who cried out furiously.

"If you took out a second Pokémon, maybe you'd stand a chance against me," Beatrice said. "If you took out a third, it'd even the odds."

"Tch.." Lucian glared.

Beatrice's plan to anger Lucian was working, and she could see it. There was one final thing she had to say to further sweeten the deal.

"The battle between the Pokémon champion, Lucian, and the challenger, Beatrice, is about to begin!"

Slowly, Beatrice took in a breath through her nose. She pulled out her Pokéball, and tossed out the Pokémon she had chosen:

Slowpoke.

Slowpoke came out with a yawn and rolled over to his back with a dopey look on his face.

"Slowpoke, huh?" Lucian said. "Interesting choice. Well, aren't you going to put on an invoker?"

"Aren't you?"

"If I did, my link with Dialga would cancel out. So, no invoker for me. Go on and put yours on, though."

"Nah, I don't need to."

Lucian's eyes widened.

"WHAT?!" Marie cried from the spectators' seat.

"Did she just..!" Zennon, Marie's lover, roared.

"There's no way she just said that..!" Anastasia cried.

"Heh… now that I think of it… in a high-stakes fight like this.." Marie crossed her arms and stared at Beatrice from above the crowd. "It's no wonder your daughter would do the same thing you would, huh, Quinton?"

Lucian clenched his fists.

"You've got to be insane.." The champion said, "I can end this fight in a single hit, you know that, right?"

"Yes, and so can I," Beatrice said. "Makes things even."

"It's not! I can freeze time! I can literally accelerate time and get in front of you before you can blink!"

"I didn't stutter, did I?"

"Grr..!" Lucian glared furiously.

Beatrice's smile slowly faded as she beckoned Lucian with her hand. "Come at me, Champion of Hoenn."

Lucian entered a battle stance alongside Flygon.

"Don't say I didn't warn you..!"
