Chapter 33: Returning to normal, sorta.
(Royal Woods Elementary.)
All the children head into the school, some of them are outside and chatting about what had happened to Lincoln Loud, Jenny Mulligan spread the news about it and she also sent out the Lincoln Loud is coming back to school, h refuses to sit down and just do nothing.
All of the students were confused by this, they would accept staying home for a few days from that kind of problem and it would be a relief for them to not go to school for a few days too, but Lincoln Loud was different. He was not the same one who would wanna have fun and be happy for no school.
Waiting outside of the school are: Jordan, Clyde, Chloe, Rusty, Polly, Liam, Tabby, Zach, Flat Tire, Stella, Mollie, Sadie, Jenny, Trent, Kat, Lance, Joy, Artie and Cookie. Yup, the whole gang is here and not just them. Also there is Lucy Shapiro and Haiku.
"Where the heck is Lincoln anyway?" asked Zach. "You think he changed his mind and decided to stay home?"
"Not possible guys, Lincoln sent me a message this morning that said he was looking forward to coming back here" replied Clyde.
"Maybe they're stuck in traffic" said Liam. "My memaw hates traffic, especially if it's wagon traffic."
"There's no traffic today, my auntie told me about it before she reported it on the news" replied Jenny.
Jordan can tell some of them are worried, she herself is worried too. Lincoln sent her a message that he was inbound after a long talk with his mom, a long and emotional talk with his mom.
Lucy looks around with worry. 'Poor Lincoln, I hope he's doing alright. I don't know what kind of pain he would be feeling, and I know it can't be as worse as what he went through since the summer started.'
Haiku sees how worried Lucy is and she places a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Lucy, Lincoln is strong and wise and he will be here, just have some faith." Lucy smiles hearing that.
Just then they all hear the sound of an engine roaring and coming onto view was the purple Ferrari of Luna Loud. The car stops right in front of the school and the doors open and coming out are Lincoln and Luna, in some new attire.
Lincoln – white polo, orange short sleeved hoodie, blue jeans and red and orange sneaks and the necklace around him from his date with Jordan.
Luna – striped shirt, purple leather jacket, black and purple bracelets with moon symbols, black knee ripped jeans with a white and black belt and purple boots with white straps.
They all go towards them. "Lincoln!" They all have a big group hug onto the white haired boy. Luna smiles seeing this. 'Linc has some truly loyal pals, that's good for him.'
Lincoln chuckles from this. "Thanks, all of you really. But we did see each other yesterday and there was no need for this."
They all break from the large friends group hug. "We know buddy, we just got a bit worried that you weren't gonna show up or something" replied Liam.
"Are you feeling alright handsome?" asked Jordan as she kisses his cheeks and then kisses his lips.
They depart from the kiss and Lincoln looks to Jordan lovingly. "All in good times my love, mom and I just had some talk and we're okay now. We settled down some things just in case."
"Good, and a good thing you should know is that we did not have any dodge ball yesterday. So some of us are happy it never happened." Jordan sees the others sigh in relief, they did not wanna be victims to her ruthless onslaught of dodge ball domination.
"But, that doesn't mean we can have it again, come next week on Thursday will the right time to see if I can make you into a dodge ball pro" said Jordan.
Lincoln pulls her closer and they both share a nose kiss. "And I look forward to seeing if I can be your dodge ball queen." Lincoln and Jordan chuckle, the others go wide eyed and can see this is not gonna end well for any of them.
Lincoln then looks to his mom, Luna kneels down in front of him and they embrace each other. "If you have any troubles, then signal me and I will come over and take you home. Understood?"
Lincoln sighs. "Yes mom, I know, and I'll try my best to see if I can make it through this day with little to know pain and such."
Luna then breaks the hug with her son, but she still holds his arms. She kisses his forehead. "I love you kiddo, see you after school."
"See you after school too mom and I look forward to you and Sam at the Royal Rumble tonight too" said Lincoln. Luna waves goodbye to her kid and Lincoln waves' good bye to his mom and she drives off to the high school.
The others then go to Lincoln. "So, Luna and Sam are participating at the Royal Woods High School Royal Rumble eh? Nice, I could only guess this'll be their first gig as a duet?" asked Tabby.
"This is their first gig and they both have their song locked and loaded and I'm gonna be there to watch them perform!" said Lincoln.
"And you can count on some on all us to be there too" said Jordan. They all wanted to go and see what thi new song they have is and see how good Luna and Sam are as a duet instead of being with their band mates.
Then Lucy goes to Lincoln and hugs him. "I'm so glad you're okay Lincoln, I know how much it hurt for you to go through that. I'm just so happy your back and in one piece once more big bro … I mean Lincoln."
Lincoln smiles hearing that, deep down Lucy still sees him as her big brother. Lincoln hugs her back. "What matters is that I'm okay and back on my feet, and I don't mind you calling me big brother."
They break the hug and Lucy looks to Lincoln in utter shock. "R-Really? Are you sure?"
Lincoln smiles and he kisses her forehead. "Deep down, I know you still see me as the big brother you know and love, and some part of me still sees you as the gothic sister I always knew and cared for. So, yes. You can call me big brother whenever you like Luce."
Lucy sheds some tears and she hugs Lincoln once more. Lincoln hugs her back and does his best to calm her down. The others thought this was sweet and so do the other kids. One thing's for sure, Lincoln Loud will be the main talk of the whole school year.
Dennis and Patrick see this, with Chandler out of the picture these two guys can be friends again. "You think we should apologize to Loud for the mean things we did to him from before?" asked Dennis.
"I think we should, but not now" replied Patrick. "We should tell him when we have the chance and I think it should also be when all of his friends are with him as well, so they know we're not gonna be the same goons as before." The two boys then head back to the school.
Lincoln then break the hug with Lucy and he looks to the others. "So, can someone tell me what my little bro Simon has been doing? From what I heard from Sam that something happened with Simon and a bully."
"Well, that one is a story you have to hear" said Jenny. They all head back into the school and Jenny tells Lincoln what happened to Simon, and deep down Lincoln was not happy at all.
(Royal Woods High School.)
Luna's Ferrari makes it, and as she gets out she is then greeted by some teenagers who all wanted to know how was her son doing. "Whoa! Whoa! Chill dudes!" Sam intervenes. "Let's not crowd the loud mom guys, let her speak."
Luna smiles. "Thanks Sammy." Luna then looks to the teenagers and then she sees Principal Rivers, and half the staff. Wow! They are all worried about Luna's kid.
"Lincoln is doing fine, he's back at school and the only thing he has are slight turning issues, so he can't properly turn to his right side. I tried to tell him to stay home, but he was determined to go back to school and finish it for the week."
"Lincoln will inform me if he is hurt and he has his friends to back him up. That's all I got for all of you." They all smile and sigh in relief. The large crowd then disperses and Luna hugs Sam. "Lincolns gonna be okay, I know he will be."
"Lincoln's a strong kid, and he wants to grow up and see this new life through still" replied Sam as she rubs Luna's back. "He wants to make you proud by showing how strong he's getting through all of this, just be there to support him and help him out when he needs it the most, okay Lunes?"
They then break the hug. "You got it Sammy, and hey. I think I got an idea on what to do on Saturday tomorrow?"
Sam chuckles. "You and your kid gonna be spending some quality time together someplace fun?"
"No, I want you to spend time with my kid tomorrow. Just you and Lincoln" replied Luna.
Sam is stunned by this. "W-What? Luna, what are you saying?"
Luna holds her hands. "Sam, you came to the hospital to support me and be there for Lincoln, you even saw Lincoln as your kid and he's okay with that too. Something also tells me that Linc sees you as a parent as well, kinda like me. So, what do you say Sammy? Spend a day with my kid, quality time?"
Sam sheds a tears hearing this. "Wow. That … Okay Luna, I'll do it. I wanna spend some one day quality time with the best dang son figure around, and you're right, I kinda do see Lincoln as mu kid too, since we're both together and I'm gonna give him the best day he's got tomorrow. Me, Lincoln and a whole Saturday of fun!"
Luna smiles and she shares a quick kiss with Sam. "Thanks Sam, this means a lot to me and Lincoln and I know he'll like this, now come on. We gotta finish up our rehearsal on the song for the Royal Rumble."
"And if it's time to head on home, I'm gonna tag along so we can continue rehearsals at your place" replied Sam.
"I'd like Simon to tag along, but mom and dad said he's going to be grounded until Saturday, after what happened with him and another kid yesterday."
Luna then looks to her girlfriend confused. "What did happen to your little bro yesterday?"
Sam sighs. "Buckle up Lunes, it's gonna be one heck of a story and the rents and I were not pleased by it." They both head into the school and Sam tells Luna what had happened between Simon and a kid who was bullying him.
Luna felt livid hearing this, and she knows Lincoln is also hearing about this and like her is not happy at all!
AS the two girls head into the school, Sully and Mazzy see them and sigh. "Well, time for another week of no Luna-Tics rehearsals" said Sully.
"We should continue with our own thing Sully, let's leave them be and get to doing our song for the Royal Rumble" replied Mazzy. They both follow soon after into the school.
Tonight, a lot of people were ready for the next Royal Woods High School Royal Rumble and the Main Event of Luna Loud and Sam Sharp!
(After School, Royal Woods Elementary School.)
Lincoln and his friends exit the classroom of Mrs. Johnson. "Okay, time to head on home and see what my mom thinks of what happened to Simon" said Lincoln.
"You're mom must've heard about it from Sam, it's obvious after all" replied Jordan. She then sees someone. "And there he is." They all see Simon walking towards them.
Lincoln sighs and he goes to Simon, he didn't see him at lunch because he had detention. Poor kid. "Simon, I know what happened buddy." The rest of his friends also go to the Sharp kid,
Simon sighs. "Linc, I'm sorry. I just didn't like how that kid was talking about you. You're a good kid and you don't deserve to be disrespected like that, I had to do something."
Lincoln goes down to Simon's level. "That was awfully nice of you, but also stupid. You're just a kid and I don't want you going around trying to stand up for me, I can do that myself and at times my mom will have my back. I don't want you to do any more kind of trouble in my name. Okay Simon?"
Simon nods and he hugs Lincoln, Lincoln hugs him back. "You should get back home now, I know your mom is coming to pick you up buddy."
They soon break the hug. Then Liam and Tabby go to Simon. "We'll walk you out the school mate, we don't' want you causing anymore trouble."
"We're all friends here, and we gotta stick together right" said Liam. "Also, I gotta get home fast before them new chicks hatch out at the hen house."
They then wave goodbye to Liam, Tabby and Simon. "Well, what plans do you got tomorrow Lincoln?" asked Trent.
"Not sure guys, I think I might just spend some quality time at home. It's been a heck of a week and I think I could use some me time on Saturday" replied Lincoln.
"We understand buddy, Chloe and I are gonna be watching some Operation Dessert Storm Marathons at her place" said Clyde. "I'm not planning to have her come over to my house and have my dad's go overboard with things."
"The right thing to do is to let your friends invite you to someplace where trust and respect will take a long time to earn" replied Haiku out of nowhere, they all get startled by this. "Sorry, Lucy and I are here to tell you all that these boys wanted to talk to you Lincoln."
Lucy and Haiku steps aside and they see the two boys, one large kid and one short kid and they are way too familiar to even forget. The former goons of Chandler McCann, Dennis and Patrick and they both look kinda nervous.
Lincoln can tell something is up, but then his friends along with Jordan and Lucy block their way. "Guys, stand down. Let them speak, I wanna know what they have to say."
They all back up a bit, but they're going to keep a close eye just in case these two boys do anything stupid. "Lincoln, we wanna apologize for being part of Chandler's crazy scheme to get the computer form you" said Dennis.
"Yeah, we thought he would just leave it be or just come up with a prank. We didn't think he would try and do something dangerous to you and your mom" replied Patrick. "Heck, we told him to go and find a better looking computer since the last one was taken by your mom, but he wouldn't listen."
"We know we can't be forgiven for what we did, but we just wanted you to know how sorry we are for being his pal. I guess all we wanted was to be with the popular kid and were blinded into doing his dirty deeds" said Dennis.
They're all stunned at what they were saying, Jenny was so going to put this on the Grade School news blog.
Lincoln could tell they were serious, they felt bad for mistreating everyone they looked down on and they see the error of their ways for siding with the wrong friend, reminded him of some of his old family, who knew their mistakes and are paying for it.
"I can forgive you guys" said Lincoln. They all look to him in shock. Dennis and Patrick were more confused.
"R-Really? You forgive us man?" asked Patrick.
"Yeah, I know you two feel bad and are seeing just how bad things were when Chandler tried to do something horrible" said Lincoln. "So, I can forgive you guys, but trust is one thing that is not easy to earn."
"We know Lincoln. We totally understand and maybe we can hang out next time, all of us" said Dennis.
"That would be nice guys, but we'll think about it" replied Lincoln. The two boys then shake hands with Lincoln and they take their leave from the school, feeling like they let out a heavy burden from their shoulders off.
Lincoln smiles and watches them leave, his friends go to him. "Wow. Did not see that one coming" said Rusty.
"You just forgave them like that? Wow! You have got to be the kindest kid ever!" said Lance.
"You really do know how to show true kindness to others. That is so nice of you to do" said Joy.
Lincoln smiles. "Thanks, I guess I could tell when guys like them need to be given another chance and so I gave them that chance. Now come on guys, let's get the heck out of here."
They all continue their way down the halls and straight for the main exit, all while Lincoln notices a kid who was responsible for getting Simon into the fight from yesterday. Lincoln did not like this kid anymore, but he has to avoid trouble. The kid who was bullying Simon and making fun of Lincoln, was Boy Jordan.
Lincoln and the others soon make it out of the school and they all part ways back to their homes, Jordan shares a small kiss with Lincoln before she gets back into her mom's car. He does see Clyde and Chloe go into the bus and wave good bye to him.
Lincoln waves back. 'Good luck buddy, spend time with the girl and wait for the right moment to see if she's interested in you. Don't go too far with anything else though.'
Soon Lincoln sees his mom arrive in her Ferrari, the window lowers. "Hey kiddo. Sam is tagging along with us so we can finish our rehearsal back home. Hop in."
Lincoln gets into the back and he sees Sam. "Hey Sam." Lincoln then closes the door. "Simon already left home, Liam and Tabby escorted him to your mom's van, and I also saw the kid who bullied him yesterday."
Luna didn't like this. "You didn't get into any trouble did you?"
"No mom, I didn't. But I did make up amends with some old goons from an old enemy and chances they're like my pals too. Well, not yet" replied Lincoln.
Luna and Sam smile. "Good to hear Linc, so this kid what does he look like?" asked Sam.
Lincoln the gives Sam a description of the kid known as Boy Jordan and sure enough Sam was not liking this kid already. Luna then sighs. "Guys, let's not get to that okay? We got a big night tonight and I wanna see how the folks will love our performance, as a duet."
"Mom, I know they'll love it. You and Sam are awesome together, the best duet band I have ever known" said Lincoln.
The two teens were touched at his words. Sam felt as if she should tell him what they're gonna do on Saturday, but she won't she wants this to be a surprised. One thing they were greatful for, was how much of a caring person Lincoln has become.
Luna still fears that he could still get hurt, from his new change to bravery and kindness. She has to keep an eye on her boy, who knows what they could be up against next.
(Nighttime, Royal Woods High School Gym.)
The crowd cheers one last time for the performance from Sully and Mazzy, they weren't bad, but they were okay. They would better if Luna and Sam had teamed up with them, but they know they have other things to do.
Lincoln and all of his friends are all watching the whole thing from the very front, all of them are there to see Luna and Sam perform. "I hope they're doing alright back there" said Clyde.
"They will be Clyde, one thing I know about my mom is that when she gets ready for a gig, she gets ready for a gig!" said Lincoln.
"Why aren't you backstage to wish your mom all the best of luck?" asked Zach.
"My mom knows she's got this and she knows I'll be rooting to her all the way, and I don't want her to worry about me being back there" replied Lincoln. They then see the lights go dark and then hear Principal Rivers make the announcement.
"And last but not least, the Royal Rumble's Main Event! Presenting Luna Loud and Sam Sharp! The Lovers Duet!"
The spotlight turns on and they all cheer to see Luna and Sam on stage, Luna on her acoustic and Sam on the keyboard. Luna looks to Sam. "You ready love?"
"Ready as I'll ever be, let's make this work babe" replied Sam.
Luna then looks to the crowd and she smiles to see her son Lincoln wave at her and mouth the words. "You got this mommy, I know you do." Luna felt fully motivated and so does Sam.
They then start the beat and they perform the song they made: Let me go. And everyone remains silent, hearing this soothing and yet touching song.
Lincoln knows, this was the start of a whole new thing for his mom and Sam. This was the next big step to their new life, together.
A/N: And coming tomorrow is the one day quality time between Lincoln Loud and Sam Sharp, chances it'll be like how Luna and Lincoln have their quality time. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
