There is going to be some emotional stuff between Lincoln and Luna for this one and possibly some serious talk with their lovers as well. Enjoy folks.

Chapter 42: Emotional Malling.
(The Loud House.)
Luna is going through all the things in the fridge and the cabinets and she writes it all down. "Okay, so more coffee, soda, some snacks, pancake mix, eggs, bread, a few meats and ketchup. Seems that's about it." She then closes the fridge and she puts her list into her pocket.
She then sees someone coming into the kitchen, her son Lincoln. "Hey mom, I'm ready to go with you and get the shopping done." He looks a bit nervous.
Luna knows what's up, she can still see he has some slight fear after she showed how angry she was yesterday. But she knows there is something else more to this. Luna goes over to her son's level and she places both her hands onto his shoulders. "Linc, please look at me."
Lincoln looks at his mom nervously, but he can see how concerned she was looking. "Lincoln, you can stay home today. I know your still feeling kinda in the blues after … After what we went through yesterday. I don't want you to breakdown into a mess Linky."
Lincoln then snaps out of it. "No, no. It's okay, I wanna come with you. You need help and I don't want you to do this alone. Also, I have some stuff to do when we go there as well."
Luna knows what he means and she doesn't seem to have a choice. "Okay, okay Lincoln." Without hesitation the boy hugs his mom, Luna then hugs him back and rubs his back. "There, there kiddo. I'm not angry with you anymore, but we're both getting deep thoughts after everything from yesterday."
Lincoln doesn't say anything, nut he just kisses his mom's cheek which catches her off guard and she smiles. They soon break away from the hug. "Head on to the car first, I'll catch up with you later."
Lincoln nods and he heads out, Luna notices he has his wallet with him. 'Looks like he wants to get started on the gift early. I think I should let him be by himself if he plans to go and get it from the mall.'
Luna then heads out of the house after grabbing her jacket, but then she sees Great Grandma Harriet by the stairs. "Luna, be careful with Lincoln. Some part of him is feeling some deep and unstable memories within his thoughts, I can feel it too and I believe when you got angry with him for something he wanted to surprise you, it triggered it."
Luna sighs, so her thoughts were right. "Thanks for the heads up, I have to fix this with my kid. I don't want him to be shattered with this conflict. He's all I got left." She then walks out the door and then closes it.
Harriet sighs. 'Being a mom is not an easy task, and I just hope they can settle things when this does happen again. Lincoln is always so dependent on Luna, and I can see he wants to make her happy for all she has done for him. But that is a task not easy to make.' She then heads back upstairs.
Luna makes it to the car and she hops in, she sees Lincoln in the back going through his phone.
"Okay Linc, you ready to get going?" asked Luna with a smile.
Lincoln looks to his mom and he smiles back. "Ready." He then outs on his seatbelt and they both drive off. While driving, Luna then decides to ask.
"So, should we get something at the mall first and then go to the High n' Buy to get what we need? Or do we do the groceries first and then go and see what we can buy at the mall?"
Lincoln thinks about this, then he replies. "We should get something at the mall first, if we get the groceries first then we have lots of stuff to carry and it'll make it a difficult task to do. Also, we might accidently drop something."
Luna smiles. 'Man-with-the-Plan as always' "Okay kiddo, we'll go with your idea." They then drive off for the Royal Woods Mall.
(Royal Woods Mall.)
Luna parks her car near the High n' Buy and they both get out and head into the mall. "Okay, so what do you wanna look for here kiddo?" asked Luna.
Lincoln felt nervous about this, he never thought he would go with the birthday gift with his mom with him. It was not what he expected, but after what happened yesterday, he didn't want her to get stressed over his whereabouts.
Luna can see the conflict going on within her son. "Or …. Or we could just, umm. We could …. What do you wanna do kiddo?" Luna feels a bit hurt knowing her kid is now afraid of her, this brought back memories of the times she got angry at him for something he did not do.
Lincoln then holds her hand. "Let's go and see what kind of songs they have." Luna holds onto his hand and they walk to the music store, but she does notice her son taking a slight glance towards the pawnshop nearby. Luna can tell he had other motives, but she decides to let him take her wherever.
(Later.)
Lincoln and Luna exit the music store with nothing in hand. "Well, nothing seems to be new, yet."
Luna then asks. "Where to know kiddo? We got the whole day to do this." She knows he's still worried.
Lincoln then looks around. "We can go to the book store, maybe we can find something new there." Lincoln holds her hand and she follows him and once again she can see him glance at the pawn shop not too far.
Luna knows he wants to go there, but she can tell he's afraid to go there and make her suspicious. 'Lincoln, just say it and I'll back off. I won't be mad at you son.'
(30 minutes later.)
They then leave the book store and once again nothing in hands. "You wanna see what's at the comic book store?" asked Luna. "Maybe there's a new comic you'd like to get."
Lincoln thinks about this. "No, I think I'm feeling kinda hungry. Can we get something to eat mom?"
Luna smiles. "Sure kiddo." They make their way to the food court and Luna sees Lincoln glancing at the pawn shop. Luna sighs. 'This is …. This is not good. I have to let him open up to what he wants to do. Why did all of that happen yesterday?!'
They then take their seat. "So, anything you want me to get us?" asked Luna.
Lincoln goes through the food they have at the nearby stands. "Maybe the new bacon wrapped cheese hotdog, soda and some cheese fries. That's about it" replied Lincoln.
Luna smiles. "Okay then, you hang back here and I'll get our food." She then goes over to her son and she hugs him and kisses his forehead and then she leaves a note on his lap. Luna then walks over to the nearby burger stand.
Lincoln sees the note and reads it. 'Whatever it is you wanna do, go for it. I won't be mad, just don't take long. Love, you're mom.' Lincoln then looks to his mom who waves at him by the line.
Lincoln smiles and he mouths the words. "Thank you." Then he gets up and he goes over to the pawn shop not too far with the cash in his wallet.
Luna glances at her son headed there. 'I need to have a talk with him, about all of this and what I don't want to happen.' "Hey Luna." She snaps back to reality and she sees joining her in the line is Sam Sharp and Jordan Rosato.
"Hey guys, what are you two doing here?" asked Luna. She can see the concerned faces they have. "What's wrong?"
Jordan sighs. "Let's just get what we wanna eat, and then wait for Lincoln. Okay?" Luna nods and they wait in line and order some food. Luna knows this is going to be one talk she needs to have, with the lover of her kid and her lover who Lincoln sees as another parent.
Soon, they get the food they wanna eat and the food Lincoln wants to eat. Luna then looks towards the Pawn Shop and she sees her son talking to the man in charge and showing him a paper and then Luna sees the poster at the front of the Pawn Shop. "We now do handmade silver items for you."
Luna is stunned by this, but she smiles. She doesn't wanna spoil her thoughts and just goes back to Sam and Jordan. 'Take your time kiddo, take your time.'
Luna takes her seat next to Sam and Jordan. "So, you guys have anything to say to me?"
Sam and Jordan look to each other and then to Luna. "You talked to your son, we know that" said Sam. Then she loses her cool a bit. "Or better yet, you yelled at him tell me I'm wrong Lunes?" Sam crosses her arms and looks to her lover sternly.
Luna sighs. "I … I did, but I was worried and ….. And I didn't want him to get hurt, I di-didn't mean to be mad at him …. I just didn't wanna, didn't wanna lose him again." Luna looks down in sadness. Sam then looks to Luna with some sympathy.
"Y-You should've seen his … His face Sam, he w-was scared of me. He w-was like …. Like he w-was looking at the o-old family. Like I was … Like I was the b-bad person. B-But I'm his m-mom, not a m-monster!" Luna covers her eyes with her hands. "What the hell am I gonna do?"
"Talk to him" replied Jordan. "Let him know that you wanna settle all of this calmly and not scare him. He's only 11 Luna, and it's been over a month since the whole incident with the whole family split apart and he's trying to handle this new life you wanted to make for him. Things aren't going to be easy and you know that, and so does Lincoln. Have a calm and peaceful one-on-one talk and ask how he feels, then you can find some way to take this all with ease. Okay?"
Luna looks to Jordan and she wipes away a tear that goes down her cheek. Luna smiles. "Thanks, that was … That was really good advice Jordan. I see why Linc really does care about you."
Jordan smiles. "No problem. I wanna help you out with this, I wanna be there to help Lincoln. You're both going to have issues as you two grow up and progress with this life and I wanna make sure you two stick together. Besides, this isn't the first time he got scared of you."
Luna recalls the incident when she loved the return of the grace and cheer of the old Luna Loud and how much of everything she desired hurt Lincoln. "Luna." Luna looks to Sam. "You sacrificed so much for Linky. Don't make him feel bad for more sacrifices you have to make, you're not the only one who would give their life for him. I see him as my kid too."
Luna nods. "I know, I have to make things right so we can be the good mom and son to each other."
Just then they see Lincoln walking towards them. "Hey mom. Sorry I took a little longer." Then he sees Sam and Jordan. "What are you guys doing here?" Lincoln then takes a seat between Luna and Jordan.
He then sees the worried face from his mom. "Oh, I guess we have some things to talk about when we get back home. I understand mom." Lincoln looks down with a bit of sadness.
Luna then feels bad that he is doing this. "Linc, don't be like that kiddo. I just wanna have some talk that could help us both. Okay? I'm not mad, I just wanna know how you feel, when we get back home."
Lincoln looks to his mom and tries to at least smile for her. "Okay mom, okay." They then start eating their food.
"So, you planning on something after school tomorrow Lincoln?" asked Luna as she eats her salad.
Lincoln drinks his soda. "I do have something I gotta do after school tomorrow, it's really important and …..." then he stops and realizes. He then looks to his mom "But I'll need to tell you this, I-"
Then his mom stops him. "No, no. Lincoln you go on ahead and do what you gotta do, I won't push you into telling me. I ….. I wanna be surprised by what you have planned. Okay bud?"
Lincoln smiled hearing this. "Oh, okay. Thanks mom." Jordan and Sam smile seeing this, another step to showing Luna doesn't have to be over protective towards her son, and not get too suspicious of what he does.
"So, you guys planning on doing some grocery shopping later?" asked Sam, she then sees the list in Luna's jacket. "Because I think you guys need some help."
Luna and Lincoln smile and look to their lovers. "We could use some backup, even though it's not much to get or carry" replied Luna. They continue with their lunch so they can head onto with the grocery shopping at High n' Buy.
(Skip, hours later. The Loud House.)
Luna's car arrives back home and they both get out with the groceries at hand, Jordan and Sam already went off home after they helped them. They got a ride from Jordan's mom.
Luna and Lincoln head to the house and Great Grandma Harriet opens the door. "You guys must've had some fun, I'll handle those kids. You two head onto the back and talk this out and yes I know about what you two need to discuss. I knew from th start." The ghost then takes the groceries and Lincoln and Luna aren't surprised by this, she is one who knows what's going on.
The mother and son then head to the back of the house, they both see the hammock still connected and they both sit onto it. They both remain silent as they sit side by side and not look at each other.
Luna then asks. "Linc, are you …. Are you feeling okay kiddo?" But her kid doesn't respond to her.
"Lincoln, please. After what we both did and … and because I didn't listen to you, I wanna know how you're feeling through all of this. Please, tell me if you're feeling okay! I wanna …. I wanna try and make you happy" said Luna with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"Confused, lost and a bit scared" replied Lincoln. Luna is shocked by this. "Mom, I know why you got angry with me and I totally understand, but when you didn't let me speak my part ….. It … It reminded me of the many times I was blamed for something but …. You and the others never let me e-explain." Lincoln wipes away a few tears.
Luna feels saddened by this and she places her hand onto his shoulder.
"I know that what you did … Getting angry at me, you were worried and that I know you still … Still love me and I love you. We are gonna face hardships and we did, but what …. What we … What happened to the tow of us, yesterday …. We faced a part of this small family and that was anger, confusion and stress and I don't want you to go through with that kind of stuff mom." Lincoln wipes away a few more tears.
Luna is now feeling heart broken by this.
"You're being a responsible parent and I know it have to face that sometimes, a few strict moments along with the caring moments." Lincoln then holds his mom's hand. "Mom, I don't want you to keep sacrificing so much to make me happy. I wanna make you happy, to feel like you're the best mom for me and that I will always love you no matter what happens. I don't want you to always be there to keep me safe, I wanna try and do that myself and when I do need some support I can count on my friends, or better yet … You."
Lincoln then looks to Luna with some fresh tears forming. Luna also has tears and she hugs her son, and Lincoln hugs his mom.
"Oh Linky. I'm so, so sorry! I didn't mean for you to feel this way! I just wanted you to be safe and sound, but I went too far and ….. And I should've trusted you!" Luna stars to cry a bit as she hugs her son,
Lincoln rubs his mom's back. "I shouldn't have had you worried m-mom. But I did what I h-had to do, to … To make something special for you, to show you that … That you deserve so m-much more from me." Lincoln buries his face into her chest. "I love you mom, I really do and I want you to know that."
Luna strokes his hair and she kisses his forehead. "Mommy loves you too Linky. We both have to make up for things that might go wrong, and this …. This is one of them, and a good start too."
They both stay like this, unaware that Lincoln's pals were watching them from the side of the house and feeling bad for the both of them.
"We should let them have this moment guys" said Clyde. They all nod and go back to their bikes and ride of. They then see Carol and the other teens and Beatrix headed to the house.
Carol looks to the kids. "Did they …. Did they talk it over?"
Stella nods. "They're in the backyard and both of them are mending what happened yesterday. How the heck do you girls know about this?"
"We overheard from Sam and Jordan at the mall, and we thought we could come over and help them" replied Dana. "But I guess they have it all covered. So, we're gonna head off now."
The two groups of friends from Lincoln and Luna then head off back to their homes and their respectful things, before school starts up on the next day. They just hope things will be back to the way it was with the mother and son of the Loud House.
Harriet watches them leave from the window. 'Lincoln and Luna have such nice and supportive friends. Things are going to be hard once again, but they'll pull through. They always do.'
(Minutes later.)
Lincoln and Luna are now laying onto the hammock as it rocks back and forth. Lincoln leans onto his mom as she has her right around him.
Lincoln needs to tell her this. "Mom." She looks to her son. "Tomorrow, I don't know how long I'll be gone. I need to do something that's gonna be hard and rough and I can't wanna tell you what it is, but I'm trying to make you something with my bare hands, with no other help but some teachings from someone and chances I'm gonna be back home with a few bruises and dirt marks. Is that okay?"
Luna pulls him close to her and she kisses his forehead. "You're doing this to show how much you love me and that you wanna make me happy, well I'm already happy having you as the one kid I can truly love. Whatever you got planned, go for it. I won't bother you with calls and let you be, but I will have to keep checking if you're going to be where you will be for the rest of the day tomorrow. Okay?"
Lincoln kisses his mom's cheek and he snuggles close to her. "Okay mom, okay. I love you mommy." The white-haired boy then closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep.
Luna then closes her eyes and snuggles closer to him. "Mommy loves you too Linky. Forever and ever sweet child of mine."
They then enjoy this warm moment in an afternoon nap. They have a lot to do, and Luna's birthday is coming up. Lincoln looks forward to what he is planning for his mom and Luna looks forward to what her son wants to show her.
A/N: Lincoln has something big planned and no he did not request for the owner of the Pawn Shop to make something. Like Lincoln said, he wants to make something for Luna, with hard work and dedication to show how much he cares for her. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
