Chapter 74: Aftermath of the Trial.
(The Loud House.)
Lincoln wakes up to the sound of his alarm clock. He gets up, yawns and stretches and he opens the window and takes in the sight of the backyard. No tourists hiding and no ghost hunters camping, everything is at peace once again in Royal Woods.
Then Apollo Fighters fly by at high speed alongside Viking fighters. Well, almost at peace.
Lincoln gets back to getting his clothes for the day and then someone hugs him from behind, it's Luna. "Morning sport, peaceful morning isn't it?"
Lincoln chuckles. "Sure is, away from the chaos that unfolded at the court and gone with the tourists and those crappy ghost hunters, glad it's all over and that we have new allies who wanna keep the peace going. Well, for now that is."
Luna knows what he means. "Linc, I get what you're laying down, I know we might still be facing some tough issues, like enemies who want us out of the picture. But we can pull through, we stick together and keep our hopes up, then we can get through this whole thing and enjoy the rest of our lives in this small family."
Lincoln smiles and he hugs her. "You know how to keep my spirits up mom."
Luna hugs him back and she kisses his forehead. "I do what I can to make sure everything is in order and that nothing else goes wrong, to see both of us happy and away from what has transpired my child."
They soon break the hug. "Now come on and get changed, even though it is a nice time to spend with no troubles at all we have school today" replied Luna.
"Okay mom." Lincoln then heads out the room with his towel. "See you at breakfast mom." He then heads for the bathroom.
Luna chuckles and she sees Lincoln's phone has some messages from his friends and they sure are a lot. 'Chances we're gonna have one heck of a welcome party when we get to school. We came back to town late at night to celebrate somewhere at Washington DC, was still the best victory we've ever had since the whole Bad luck case and maybe they should open up that Burger King place here in Royal Woods, we could use one of those.'
Luna then leaves the room and she heads downstairs where she sees Michelle Lewis come into the house with the mail. "Mail came and the cash from those guys at the ghost station showed up too, it's the sued payment we get for what they did and the same cash is also being sent to other people around town who have all had they're peace disturbed by the presence of the tourists and ghost hunters."
Luna smiles as she takes the letter with the cash and she looks to Michelle. "Keep the cash Michelle, you've earned it dude."
Michelle is shocked. "W-What? What do you mean?"
Luna goes to her and gives her the letter. "What I mean is, that the whole case and thing was your idea. Sure we all had the luxury of enjoying the victory against those who messed with the whole town, but this is you're earnings, you made this possible and shared the idea. All I did was sign the paper to make it happen, Lincoln and Harriet just agreed and everyone in town just watched."
Great Grandma Harriet appears. "She's right and everyone in town knows it too. Soon, you will get a lot of people who'll thank you for making the idea of having the whole incident be sent to the Supreme Court of the Country. You made it happen, we all participated to make sure it went well and we won, this may be everyone's victory to have the guilty be sent off and have peace back, but it was you who started the whole thing and look where we all are now."
Michelle didn't know what to say. "Are you guys sure? I mean, I don't wanna take all the credit. I'd rather share it with you guys and this ash seems to be more than 5,000 bucks."
They look to her confused. "How the heck did you know that?" asked Luna.
"I can be able to tell the amount of cash just by feeling the weight and in this letter is 5,000 dollars and chances the same is for everyone else around Royal Woods" replied Michelle. "But, if you guys want me to keep this, then I shall. But, I will put this to good use for when we all wanna go someplace to spend an awesome time together."
Luna chuckles. "Now that sounds like a pretty rad idea."
(Royal Woods Grade School.)
Lincoln enters the school and he's greeted by so many kids, and he all greets them back. He sees Lisa, but she doesn't interact with him, but Darcy waves towards Lincoln and he waves back. 'Looks like Lisa still has issues trying to talk to me, she must still feel bad after the whole bad luck thing.'
Lincoln then meets up with his friends and Jordan. "Hey guys, received anything in the mail today?"
"We sure did, though my parents aren't gonna spend the cash. They're gonna save it for some renovations to the house" replied Jordan.
"We got the cash and it's way too much to pay for the crops and vegetables those ghost hunters damaged at the farm" replied Liam. "If there's gonna be any leftover cash, then we can use it to make the hen house bigger."
"My dad is gonna use the cash to give my mom a night at the town, and he's using the other half to buy a new washing machine" replied Rusty.
"My parents are gonna use the cash so we can have the whole weekend at the star gazers site two miles out of town, we are so going to look for alien stuff. Also, that new base thing, do they have aliens too?" asked Zach.
"Not quite sure, just please don't let your parents bother them, I mean we did see the man Gyro turn into a raven and use actual magic, but I don't wanna bother them" replied Lincoln.
"Can do man" replied Zach, "So, how're you and you're mom after the whole trial?"
"Doing well, we're pretty much at peace without any dumb tourists or ghost hunters around, sure is nice to have that nice sweet quiet time again and no trouble at all" replied Lincoln. He then notices Clyde a bit upset. "You okay there buddy?"
"Yeah, just thinking about my dad's and how broken up they were" replied Clyde.
"Really? What happened?" asked Chloe, they all wanna know what happened after the whole trial thing.
"Well, when we got home they tried to talk to me, but I didn't wanna talk to them and so I went to my room and relaxed knowing they were gonna stop pestering Lincoln and his mom, then I heard them crying knowing that if they try to do anymore meddling again they would lose custody of me and so I told them off to try and stick to the restraining order, because if they did break it then I would be glad to be in the hands of another family" replied Clyde.
"I snapped back at them, which I have never done that before and they tried to tell me they were doing the right thing and so I told them the their way of the right thing is now th wrong thing and that they should learn to understand that people aren't like them and that everyone has their own way o living and that they have to respect that, otherwise I'd lose all my trust and respect for them. I feel like I'm in the same bad luck boat as you biddy, no offense."
"None taken and I get it Clyde, you're having it rough just as I had through the whole bad luck thing. Try and see if you're dads can change and perhaps you can trust them again, unlike the shot I tried to give my old family" replied Lincoln.
"You're dads are all you've got, as well as some of the family members not in Royal Woods. If they don't try and change their ways of meddling with me and my mom, then it won't end well and I know you'd accept what comes next, and I don't want that to happen to you. You don't have to wanna end up like where I am now, just me, mom and a ghostly Great Grandma, oh and also Michelle Lewis."
"I'll try Lincoln, thanks for the advice" replied Clyde and he fist bumps with Lincoln.
"Anytime Clyde, that's what best friends are for man" replied Lincoln.
"So, how do you think Michelle is gonna handle with the whole her being the one who made this peace and end of the trial happen?" asked Jordan as she holds Lincoln's hand.
"No clue, chances she must have people thanking her for making it all end with a great victory for Royal Woods and one heck of a makeover for the rest of the nation" replied Lincoln.
"She is gonna be one talk of the town" replied Jenny. They all agree on that one.
They then hear the bell ring and they see Flat Tire race headed towards them at full speed. Hey guys I….. Whoa!" Flat Tire slips on the wet floor and crashes onto Principal Huggins. "I'm okay, Principal Huggins broke my….. And I'm in trouble aren't I?"
"I will be seeing you in detention tomorrow" said Principal Huggins. "And just when it was getting peaceful out here."
Norm sees this and sighs. "Why do I even bother putting the wet floor sign anyway?" They all go over and help Flat Tire and Principal Huggins up, but they can't help him get out of detention that's for sure.
(Royal Woods High School.)
Luna and Sam walk down the halls and talk about their next gig. "So, when the gig begins tomorrow then we show them the new song which is gonna blow their minds away" replied Luna as she looks to her lyric sheets. She then sees Sam looking concerned. "You okay there Sammy?"
Sam then snaps out of it. "Huh, what? Oh yeah, I'm fine. I'm chill."
Luna feels concerned. "No you're not. Sam I know something is wrong, what's the issue babe?"
Sam sighs. "Luna, I think we're gonna have to cancel the whole gig tomorrow night."
Luna goes wide eyed and she can hear glass shattering. "What?!" Truth, the glass breaking was the glass from the nearby classroom after a large crow hits it and the teacher is trying to chase it out.
"What do you mean?" asked Luna. "Why are we canceling?"
Sam sighs. "Because my mom and dad's wedding anniversary is tomorrow night and someone has to look after Simon, and I have to do that job. Sorry Lunes."
Luna feels disappointed, but she knows family is important. "It's all cool babe, we can call the place and tell them we can't make it due to some technical issues. Family is important and I know your little bro is what matters."
Sam smiles. "Thanks for understanding babe, I just wish we could do the gig and keep an eye on Simon as well. But he needs company and I can't just leave him alone at home, like how you can't leave Lincoln alone at home."
Luna nods. "Yeah, Lincoln….. Lincoln….. Lincoln?" She then gets an idea. "Sam, I don't think we have to cancel anymore."
Sam looks to Luna confused. "What? Luna, my parents are gonna kill me when they find out I can't keep an eye on Simon."
"Let my kid watch over him" replied Luna. "He seems to know how to keep an eye on the little dude, he can even let him come over to the loud house so they can bond more."
Sam smiles to the idea. "That does sound kinda nice, but what about Michelle and Harriet?"
They then continue to talk down the halls. "Harriet can help keep an eye on both Lincoln and Simon. As for Michelle, before we left to come to school, she said she's gonna be spending the Saturday nights at Fiona's along with Miguel to help with some stuff for a new fashion line, so it's all good if Lincoln keeps an eye on Simon. What do you say babe?"
Sam thins about this and looks to Luna. "I say, let's do this. This is gonna be an awesome time for Lincoln and Simon to bond more and they are so going to be having fun, and let's hope they don't do anything troublesome."
"With Great Grandma Harriet, there won't be any trouble" replied Luna. They then head to their next class, while Sam texts her parents and she gets a message already.
"Yup, the rents are in on it" said Sam.
"Awesome! Looks like we got to do the gig for tomorrow night and Linc and Simon can spend some big bro and little bro time too" replied Luna.
"By the way, how's Michelle handling knowing she's the one who made the whole peace and no troubles in town possible?" asked Sam.
"No clue, chances she must be getting some people who are thanking her for what she did" replied Luna. "I wonder how she's doing at work."
They then see Whitney running to meet up with Carol, but she does not see the wet floor sign and she slips and hits the trash bins. "Well, that had to hurt." Luna and Sam with Carol go over to help her.
(Royal Woods Mall, Reiningers.)
The place is reopened early, thanks to the Allied base and FutureTech, they were able to help finish renovations faster and now it's open and ready for business.
Michelle is at the counter and checking out three customers. "Thank you for shopping at Reiningers and see you again soon." the three women thank her and then give 200 dollars in the tip jar. "Huh, that's a lot, again."
Then Mrs. Carmichael goes over to her. "Hello Michelle, so how're the sales?"
"Doing well, twenty five people have checked out with tons of new things we've sold and they keep stuffing the tip jar." Michelle hands her the overstuffed tip jar. "But this is just the first." She then brings out two more.
Mrs. Carmichael is shocked. "Wow. This is some earnings you've got. Nice job Michelle."
Michelle is confused by what her boss just said. "Excuse me, what?"
"You heard me, these tips are you're payment for doing a job well done and also making the whole case to end those annoying outside people who keep bothering everyone" replied Mrs. Carmichael.
Michelle is shocked from this. "How the heck did you know that one?"
"It's all over social media." Mrs. Carmichael shows her what's on her phone and she sees what's been posted.
"Katherine Mulligan - Royal Woods has gained Victory, but we may have won the battle and war against the people who ruined our peace and privacy, but it wasn't from Lincoln, Luna and they're ghostly great grandmother. All was made possible thanks to former Hollywood show host, Michelle Lewis. She gave them the idea and made the papers of the trial to end the madness and the family of the louds agreed and now it's over and we can all have peace in our little town and all thanks to the woman we all once thought was bad."
"We will all be forever greatful for what she did, she stood tall and made sure that this town and the family of the louds was saved from those who would dare ruin our peace and now we have our peace back and next to nothing will ruin it, for now that is, and thank you so much Michelle Lewis."
Michelle is wide eyed from this and has nothing else to say. "Wow. Just….. Wow. Still trending huh?"
Mrs. Carmichael then puts her phone away. "The whole news is still trending on social media and now you're like an iconic hero to Royal Woods."
"She's not wrong" said Fiona. She and Miguel go over to them. "Everyone wants to thank you for making this happen and everyone now trusts you and see you as the hero who saved everyone from the madness and annoying tourists."
"Normally we'd be happy to have those kinds of people in the mall, but to the fact they keep asking about ghost stuff and not respecting the privacy of Lincoln and Luna is just dang mean" replied Miguel.
"We all have you to thank for all of this, it couldn't have been made possible if you hadn't had given Luna the idea to put it all on trial and for the whole world to see" replied Mrs. Carmichael. "Tourist agencies have new laws to question why the people are here to see the town and to make sure they're not lying."
"Conmen are being hunted and they made so many security changes throughout Royal Woods" replied Fiona.
"And the people who were part of the tour and ghost crud thing are now being sued and all the cash is being sent to Royal Woods to pay for everyone's privacy being meddled with" replied Miguel.
Michelle is shocked from this. "Wow. I was a celebrity before and I'm back to being a celebrity again. That is just….. Wow!"
"So, what the heck are you gonna do after work Miss Hero?" asked Miguel they all chuckle at this.
Michelle chuckles. "Well, I won't let this go in over my head. I am not the same old Michelle Lewis from before and surely I won't let fame and fortune ruin who I am now. I have a steady job, a place to stay, a caring family and really good friends. There's nothing else I'd rather want than this life right here, in good old peaceful Royal Woods."
Mrs. Carmichael, Fiona and Miguel clap from her speech. "Nice speech, so we still up for tomorrow's sleepover at my place?" asked Fiona.
"You know it, gonna make a whole new fashion line that'll make Thanksgiving in November be more fashionable as it is traditional" replied Michelle.
"And I look forward to seeing what you three can do, oh and Jackie and Mandee are gonna help out as well" replied Mrs. Carmichael.
"Of course they are, we're all friends and we all work here and love the way we do what we do best" replied Miguel. He then sees two familiar men. "Hey aren't those the McBride's?"
It is Howard and Harold. "Yeah, I guess they're first community service is in the mall. They better not act like whiney dorks" said Fiona.
They then see Howard slip and lands on his back, he did not see the wet floor sign. "And that had to hurt" replied Michelle.
"Come on, let's go and help them" replied Mrs. Carmichael. They go over and help the two men, but they still don't like them for what they did. Michelle on the other hadn hates them for making that call and is one day hoping they'd get a better punishment than this, but she knows not to intervene and just let them go through their community service, but she will be keeping an eye on them as will the rest of the town.
A/N: Michelle Lewis is now seen as a hero for the trial she came up with against the people who tried to mess with their town and she truly is welcomed as a friend to Royal Woods, and coming next of course is Lincoln and Simon spending some bonding time in the loud house.
