Chapter 93: Small talks.
(Th Loud House.)
Luna walks into her bedroom that she shares with her kid and she sees Lincoln asleep in bed. She then goes over and sees how he's doing.
He has a bandage to his right cheek and some bandages all over the rest of his body from the many bruises and he still has the black eye on his left eye that is slowly healing, he even has a bandage to his nose after he got hurt from the thugs who tried to take him.
Luna felt bad, she blames herself for having the idea of them going to the place and seeing magic, but all they saw was a near loss of their own family and she could be lost her son to whoever sent the conmen.
She did get word from Michelle Lewis that the police are gonna use everything they have to get Nolan, brother of Brailster to confess what he knows, and they're gonna let Great Grandma Harriet also assist in interrogation, or she could look into their minds and see who sent them.
Luna then sees Lincoln stating to stir. "Mom? What time is it?"
"Past six and don't worry about school, they're giving you some time off after what happened and the same goes with me. Sam and Jordan will bring the school work to us, but Huggins and Rivers said there isn't much school work to do since its Friday" replied Luna.
"All we gotta do is study and we can be able to ace the big test next week." Luna kisses his forehead and Lincoln gets out of bed and he hugs Luna, while shedding some tears.
Luna knows he's still shaken up after what happened last night. He was nearly taken away, and it would mean he would be far from his mom and home and be tormented by whoever wanted him and Luna out of the picture. Luna has some theories on who could've sent those conmen after them, but she's unsure.
Luna then continues to comfort her son after what he had went through. "Everything's gonna be okay Lincoln. Everything's fine now, and…. and I'm sorry."
Lincoln stops his crying and he looks to Luna confused. "W-Why are you sorry? The whole thing was not your fault mom."
Luna has some tears as well. "Lincoln, the whole thing was my idea. If it weren't for me, than you wouldn't be hurt and we wouldn't have been nearly separated. All of it, the whole thing about the magic show was my fault, and all because I wanted to make you happy with the one thing you're a fan of."
Lincoln didn't want her to feel bad. "Mom, no. You didn't do this, we didn't know this would happen and you just wanted me to be happy. Please don't blame yourself mom, this was never your fault." Lincoln kisses her cheek and he hugs her.
Luna hugs her once again and both of them shed some tears from all of this.
They then get a message from Lincoln's phone. They both depart from the hug and Lincoln and Luna see what's on his phone. "Its' from Clyde."
Clyde McBride – Lincoln… I'm sorry about what happened to you, I didn't know it would happen to you. I was the one who told Luna about the amazing Brailster and I thought you'd like to go and see it because you're a big fan of magic and I understand if you want some time off from hanging out with me. We can hang out and talk next time. Again, sorry so much Lincoln.
Lincoln sighs. "This had nothing to do with Clyde. It wasn't his fault either, we all didn't know this would all happen."
"I know kiddo, I know." Luna rubs his back and then she kisses his forehead. "Come on, time to eat breakfast." She gets up and so does Lincoln, both of the walk out of the room and head downstairs to the kitchen.
Lincoln sees the pancakes that were made. "Wow. Did Great Grandma Harriet make this?"
Luna pulls a chair for Lincoln to sit and she sits onto a chair next to him. "No, Great Grandma Harriet left early to help the police handle the conman magician and she said Gyro and Brailster are also with her to also get some answers. We might get what we need soon, to know who sent those guys to take you."
Lincoln knows that what happened has truly become personal. "I understand mom, and I only assume you made all of this. Sure has been a while since you made breakfast on your own, but what about Michelle Lewis?"
"Michelle had to go to work early, something about a major delivery coming to Reiningers and she needs to make sure it gets there. She said she'll have breakfast on the go" replied Luna. "For now, we enjoy our food and get ourselves ready to enjoy some time here by ourselves."
Lincoln nods and he continues to eat what his mom made. Luna smiles seeing this, then she recalls what tomorrow is gonna be.
'Tomorrow is Sammy's B-Day, we already have our gifts for her and surly whatever Lincoln has planned, I know Sam will love it.' Luna does recall that Lincoln wanted to call someone, someone from the Royal Woods Mall and ask to make something.
Then Michelle Lewis came back with the box and that she used the money Lincoln gave her to pay for the gift. Michelle has no clue what's in the box and why it's gift wrapped, but Luna could tell it was the same size as the one Lincoln gave her on her birthday.
Chances her son requested someone he knows to make a necklace as a gift for Sam Sharp, but she can't be sure. Still, it warms her heart to know that Lincoln has made something for his second mother figure.
Luna has her own gift for Sam, she got it early during the time Lincoln was still in school and she was let out early.
'Tomorrow, we have to be on alert for anyone who wants to go near us. If something goes wrong, then we have to fight back or else we're gonna be in big trouble.' Luna then pulls her son close to her as she drinks her coffee.
Lincoln chuckles and he and his mom share some words and chatter as they eat their breakfast.
(Later.)
Lincoln and Luna are now in the living room and both of them are enjoying some TV time, watching some news and also whatever they can find, but they can't seem to find anything to watch.
"Dang. Daytime television doesn't have much to watch, except for reruns of the Dream Boat" replied Luna.
"Yeah, I know we can't leave and all, but it is kinda boring here with nothing to do" replied Lincoln. Then they hear the doorbell ring. "Who the heck could that be?"
Luna and Lincoln go to the door, but Luna has her taser ready. She opens it and sees its Elena D. Pingrey and her daughter, Lily. "Hey guys, and what are you doing?"
Luna and Lincoln sigh in relief. "Sorry dude, we thought you were someone who came for trouble. We've been on edge and are trying to keep an ever watchful eye on anyone who might come and get us" replied Luna.
"No it's okay. We understand. Things have been pretty rough for you guys and we should've called ahead, we thought it would be a nice idea to come over and spend some time with you two" replied Elena. Lily giggles and she lets her down to go towards Lincoln.
Lily goes over and Lincoln picks her up and then Lily sees the injuries on Lincoln. "Boo-Boo." Lily kisses Lincoln's cheek and this makes him chuckle a bit.
"Thank you Lily, but kisses won't be able to make these bruises go away, but it is nice to see you again Lilster." Lincoln kisses her cheek and he hugs her.
Elena is shocked at the state he's in. "Good god. I hope he heals soon, those must've hurt." She then looks to Luna. "Any word about the situation on what happened?"
Luna sighs. "No Elena, nothing yet. But the cops will tell me on who sent those conmen and then they can begin some kind of hunt and possibly we can put it all behind us and find some peace, and it all began when that dang fake ghost hunters came and ruined everything."
Elena scoffs. "Yeah, I recall those fakers and when they came into town. They even tried to go into my house, and they snuck into Lily's room and she cried when she saw them. I pulled out my own gun and nearly shot them, but they ran off."
Luna looks to Elena. "Huh, didn't think you were armed."
Elena chuckles. "Luna, sweetie. When someone like me is married to a cop, I have to defend myself and at times I am armed and loaded, and we sometimes go to the shooting range to test if I still got it, and we do it on our dates too."
Luna smirks. She then thinks of something, something that could help her and her son. "Well, since you guys are here. Looks like our bored time won't be so bored anymore. We can spend some time at the backyard."
They all head to the backyard and enjoy some quality time. Luna is still pondering about what Elena said.
(Later.)
Lincoln and Lily are both laying down onto the hammock and both of them are fast asleep. They spent the whole time playing around and reading and it eventually tuckered both of them out to the point of taking a nap.
Luna and Elena have spent their time talking and watching the kids play. "So, any plans or big things for Thanksgiving?" asked Elena.
"I do, but it could be complicated. I just need to know if it could work or not, in order for the whole thing to go as planned I need to know if Lori is onboard and then we can call Leni and possibly bring Lucy into this" replied Luna.
"And what about Luan? Or the other former louds?" asked Elena.
That was something Luna has been thinking about as well. "I honestly don't know Elena. I mean, we're both planning to meet Luan somewhere before Thanksgiving week and then possibly check on the rest of the louds on December. There is one person who hasn't bothered to interact with us and that's Lisa."
"I don't know if she even wants to talk to Lincoln and me, or she could be avoiding us out of fear and guilt from what has happened to the once big family we all were part of. I honestly don't know what to do when we meet up with Lynnard and Rita again, and I don't know what would even go on if we check on Junior."
"The twins are an issue because we don't know if they even wanna see us, or they might have been adopted and we don't know where they are anymore. We have Leni redeemed and Lucy also in the same boat, Lori is an issue because I think she's having some personal issues with herself. So much is happening right now, and it's becoming harder and harder to keep Lincoln and myself safe."
Elena places a hand onto Luna's shoulder. "That's the hardship of being a mom, I may not know what it's like to raise a kid, but I am starting to know how it works ever since Tristen and I adopted Lily. The road is hard and long and it won't be a normal walk in the park, but I know you and Lincoln can pull through, and with some friends, loved ones and other family along the way."
Luna smiles and looks to her. "Thanks Elena, I'm just so worried is all. I just hope some good can at least come to us once in a while, instead of people who want us gone for good. We won the battle at the court from the beginning, but it seems like there's a war brewing and we're gonna be in the middle of it."
"Then at least you'll have friends by your side who'll fight on with you guys" replied Elena.
"She's right." They see the ghost of the house has returned, Great Grandma Harriet. "We're back from the police station and we might have some news for you to know." She then sees Lincoln is fast asleep and with Lily. "We'll inform Lincoln later."
Officer Tristen D. Pingrey is also there with her. "We interrogated them and they sang like birds. We now know who sent those conmen and chances there'll be more coming, soon."
Luna and Elena get up. "Who? Who sent them?"
Harriet and Tristen look to each other and then to Luna. "Flip."
This shocks them, but Luna is not shocked, she is pissed off. "I knew something was up, I had a theory he'd be behind it all and now he is. Are you sure it's just him?"
"We're not sure if Flip is alone in this whole operation. Chances he might have a partner, which those idiots we talked to have no clue either. The Guardian has flown off to report this to the Allied forces and they're sending out a manhunt for the man and any operations he may have hiding, chances he might be somewhere in Michigan" replied Great Grandma Harriet.
"But we're not gonna let this dirt bag get away with this" replied Tristen. "We will find him and his other associates and take them down. While this is going on, keep an eye on each other and make sure you're all safe. FutureTech is gonna redouble their patrols and their surveillance around the town."
"Gyro said he's going to get everything he has from his allies to make sure that Royal Woods is untouched by these conmen and that Flip will be put down for good" replied Harriet. "Chances we're gonna see some more changes coming into town, so be ready."
Luna can see now this is it, the enemy has been revealed and it's only a matter of time before he shows up. Then she has an idea, the one she's been thinking. "Tristen, I wanna ask you something. Or, at least talk about this to Merris and StoneHeart when you get back to the station."
Tristen, Elena and Harriet listen to Luna's idea and it shocks them.
(Hours later.)
Lincoln is still asleep, but Lily is no longer with her. Lily was taken with her mom, Elena back home.
Luna goes over and she lays down next to Lincoln. She lets her right leg dangle from the hammock to help push it back and forth. Luna looks down to her sleeping son and she pulls him close to her and she kisses his forehead and this makes him snuggle close to her and whisper.
"I love you mom."
Luna smiles and she whispers to him as she closes her eyes. "I love you too Lincoln, always."
Harriet watches from the door of the kitchen and with her is Jordan, Sam and Clyde. "So, Luna is really gonna go for it?" asked Jordan.
"She is, she said it's the best way to keep herself and her son safe from anything else planning to take them away. It may sound dangerous, but to Luna, it's the right thing and possibly they're best chance to fighting off more incoming threats" replied Harriet. She then goes to the stove and she opens it and gets all the cookies out and puts them onto the tray.
Sam, Clyde and Jordan go over and sit down. "I don't blame her, I think it's a good plan. The best way to keep her kid safe and I'm in on it" replied Sam. "I see Lincoln as my kid as well, and he sees me as his other mom too."
"If Luna is all in on it, then so am I. I am not gonna let Lincoln and Luna get torn apart like that again and I'm gonna suggest this to my dad just in case" replied Jordan. She then looks to Clyde. "What about you Clyde?"
Clyde thinks about this. "Well, even though it sounds dangerous to both Lincoln and Luna and to anyone else. I think it's a good idea too, and I'll make sure my dad's don't know about it, or anyone else."
"Luna is yet to tell her son. Lincoln is unaware of this, and she doesn't know when she'll tell him, but sooner or later he might find out on his own" replied Harriet.
"A gun? Dang. That is by far dangerous, cool and also a good way to turn the scales of an opposing side" said Sam. "Sure wish I could have one, but I don't think I'm ready. I mean, I did use a taser or tasers once with Luna during that Halloween night, but a gun is something that isn't in my forte, yet."
"Luna hasn't gotten a weapon yet. She has to wait for when the Detectives think it's a good idea, in the meantime Luna will have to stick to tasers and even though she doesn't seem like the right age, I think she should get a gun" said Jordan.
"I agree" replied Clyde. "But, once she uses it, and someone sees her use one, word will go out and this would make lots of enemies wanna regret or be cautious around a protective mom with a weapon and I don't mean more than twenty tasers."
They then grab some cookies and eat them. Harriet looks out the window to Lincoln and Luna still asleep, and she sees a raven sitting on the branch and that raven is Gyro, he then flies off and goes into a portal in the sky.
'Gyro, I do hope we meet your friends soon. We could use their help and Luna could use more than just a ranged weapon to scare off enemies.'
Harriet then looks to the kids who are now eating cookies and drinking glasses of milk. "So Sam, tomorrow you become 16 right?"
Clyde and Jordan spit out the milk they were drinking. "Tomorrow is Sam's birthday?!"
