Chapter 109: What's next for us?
(Rose and Comfort Restaurant.)
The school day is done and right now Lincoln and Luna are both enjoying some time eating some good food at the restaurant of Jesse Rosato.
They're both eating some delicious chicken fillet, along with some fried onion rings with iced tea. "So, how was school today kiddo?" asked Luna.
"Nothing much, but I did see Lucy, Haiku and some other kids looking excited for a big thing later on, and also Coach said he was planning on something for us to do for Thursday, but then he said due to some major changes to the school he won't be setting up the obstacle course he has planned. What the heck is that all about?" said Lincoln as he eats his chicken fillet.
Luna sighs. "Linc, when I went to the school with some law enforcement to make some changes, let's just say we found some very unsettling information of what the coach was planning to do and it did not look friendly or even fit the bill to make a good thing in gym for the kids in the 11th grade, and trust me you do not wanna know about it."
Lincoln is a bit confused by this. "Okay then, well whatever the coach was planning, then I am glad it's not gonna happen. So, what's new with you today mom?"
"Well, the band is stoked for this Friday and what we have planned for songs, and I have a song that could be good for you and it's a song for just the two of us to perform on stage and is also an early Christmas kinda jingle too" replied Luna.
"Wow. Really? That sounds awesome, I can't wait for this Friday" replied Lincoln, then he drinks his iced tea.
Luna chuckles. "Same here, and I do have some news for you from Pop-pop. He will be there to see us perform on stage this Friday and he's also wondering if we'd go along with his plan for an awesome Christmas party."
"Whatever Pop-pop has planned, I can't wait to see it" replied Lincoln. Then something comes to his mind as he eats his check and sees the shape it has become. "How's Aunt Ruth? It's been a while since we were at her home and I wanna know how she's been doing."
Luna chuckles. "Yeah, I was wondering when you'd ask. As you should know, right now Old Ruth now has some nurse help in her home. She won't be asking for help from us anymore, but chances she could be there when the whole Christmas plan Pop-pop has is ready and done."
"Well, I hope the nurse person has it better when handling with Ruth and her cats" replied Lincoln.
"The cat thing also isn't gonna be an issue. "As it turns out, there have been so many complaints from the neighborhood she's been living in and the city has declared that she have some of her cats removed or vacate the house, and she chose to remove lots of cats from her home" replied Luna.
"Pop-pop said he was there to witness it and he saw how it hurt Ruth to have her little babies removed from the house. But if you ask me, those cats don't belong there. They deserve a home too, one that does not get overcrowded and smell like something died."
Lincoln then sees someone come into the restaurant. "Speaking of died, looks like we got company."
Luna turns around and they see Maggie, walking towards them with Lucy and Haiku. "We heard someone say died, who died?" asked Maggie.
"No one died, except for the bad odor from Ruth's house" replied Luna.
"Sigh, I do not like recalling that house and I do not like recalling her and I am so glad I am not even related to her anymore. No offense guys" said Lucy.
"None taken" replied Lincoln and Luna. "So, what brings you three here?" asked Lincoln.
"It's very complicated" replied Maggie. They take a seat with them and they notice how even more miserable Lucy and Haiku are. "See, complicated."
This concerns Lincoln. "Luce, Haiku, what the heck happened and why do you two look like something died more than twice?"
"Principal Huggins is what happened" replied Lucy. "He's the one in charge of the Writing club and he turned out favorite club into something so boring and so less appealing and because of that we have no choice but to leave the writing club for good. We are not going to be part of his boring system."
"He has soiled the great name of writing, the two other members with us are also calling it quits and some of our friends from the Young Morticians club were planning to join as well, but then we warned them and so they walk away from this conflict of boredom" replied Haiku.
Lincoln and Luna have no clue what the heck is this supposed to mean and they look to Maggie.
"They said that Huggins has ruined the writing club."
Luna thinks about this. "Well, that does sound bad. You know, if you guys don't wanna be part of some lame writing club from Huggins, why not join a better one. A writing club that you guys can have outside of the school."
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea" replied Lincoln. "Do you guys know someone who might wanna teach you guys the fun and knowledgeable ways of writing?"
Lucy and Maggie smile. "We know someone and she's as close as family as should be."
Haiku looks to them. "The way you two speak are like twins who have been separated and now united at last. Also, I am so in this plan."
That part left them speechless. "Well, looks like you guys are now on the right track" said Luna.
Maggie, Lucy and Haiku get up. "Thanks for the goo advice guys, we're gonna do just that." Lucy and the others then head out of the restaurant and they make their way to commence the plan on their very own Writing Club, without Principal Huggins in it.
Lincoln and Luna then go back to eating. "Well, that happened and sure hope they can make their own writing club a success and way better than what Huggins has made, I wonder how he's handling the issue of the writing club now being disbanded."
"Chances he ain't happy at all and if he does something else stupid, he has to watch his back. Because from what I recall, there are tons of cameras everywhere" replied Luna. "That school ain't gonna be his playground for him to do what he wants and Superintendent Chen has her eyes locked on that guy."
Lincoln and Luna then finish and they pay the bill for the food. They then head off and they thank Jesse for the lunch.
They then head outside and go to the car which is parked far from the place. "So, looking forward to tomorrow's first snow day of the year?" asked Luna.
"Yeah, though school will be in service and chances the roads aren't gonna be so nice and easy to drive through" replied Lincoln.
"No need to worry kiddo. The car has some add-ons from FutureTech to help her stay in stream and not off the river as we drive through the ice roads" replied Luna. "Now come on, let's go and have some mom and son time at the park."
They both head to the car, but then they see someone waiting by the car.
A slim adult woman with tanned skin, long brown hair and red lipstick. She wears golden earrings, white bracelets, mint green sleeveless shirt with white collar and white frills, black belt, white trousers and mint green high heels.
The woman walks towards Lincoln and Luna, this makes Luna cautious and she's close to reaching for her taser. "What do you want dude?"
"Hold the presses there kid, I'm not a threat. Here, let me introduce myself. My name is Jesse Hiller and I am the Editor-in-Chief of the Royal Woods Gazette and I am here for the one, the only and the best known youngest mom in town, Luna Loud! I don't know what you're middle name is."
"Yeah, I don't have one and possibly not until my future does come" replied Luna. "I think I have heard of you, but haven't read what you just said."
"Well it does make sense to the fact you are a teenager and you wouldn't read what grown women would read, well grown women mothers. But you yourself are another and I was wondering if you do read the Royal Woods Gazette" said Jesse Hiller.
"Again, sorry duded but I don't read it. Sure I am a mom, but I don't need to read some gazette about stuff that mom's would read. I know what I'm doing and I'll get some advice when the time and situation demands it" replied Luna.
"Hmm, I see. Well, I should probably tell you the reason why I am here and that reason is….. Get ready, I Luna Loud would like you to add your own advice as an article to the Royal Woods Gazette!"
Luna remains silent. "Umm, you're kidding right?"
"I don't think so mom" replied Lincoln.
"Of course I'm not kid. After hearing everything you have been through and how much you try your hardest to make it up to your son and keep him safe, I would like you to add some advice on an article for the Royal Woods Gazette. Tons of mom's all over town would love to know how you would deal with such a child who needs help the most and you are a perfect role model" replied Jesse Hiller.
"A teenage girl, given the role of a mom and is going through hardship times between home, her son, school and trouble ahead! It is the best kind of article that would make you truly well-known and…"
"No!" They all look to Luna. "No, I'm not doing that and sure as heck there is nothing you can say that would make me do so otherwise." She then pushes her out of the way and she opens the door. Lincoln goes in and then Luna heads to the driver's seat.
Jesse Hiller then goes to her. "Luna, wait. Let me explain…."
Luna looks to her with a double-barrel shotgun glare. "No you listen to me, I am not gonna become some girl who would be famous through some mother advice. I am not gonna become known like this, I already have some lady whose offer I took for next year, and I don't need one from you, so good day and good bye."
Luna floors it and they drive off.
Jesse Hiller is shocked from this. "I don't get it, what the heck did I even do?"
(Ketcham Park.)
At the park, Lincoln and Luna walk down the pathway and they pass by Sully and Mazzy who wave at them and they wave back. Lincoln then looks to his mom.
"I understand why you wouldn't take the offer mom." Luna looks to her son, Lincoln. "The whole idea of being someone known in town would be too much, especially with the band coming back together and with Katie Crest and the big tour coming next year in the summer."
"Things would be hard if you took in something else to do, and we're both kids, well you're a teenager and I know you have more on your plate, and I know I'm one of them."
They then take a seat onto one of the benches. "Not wrong there kiddo." Luna then places an arm around her son. "I got my own responsibilities and taking up on making some article would be too much and sure as heck I am not turning into Rita who had so much on her plate."
"I'm happy with what I got with me. My new life, this mom role, my kid and the lover, friends and gigs we got and let's also not forget the big summer tour thing, which I hope won't be a disaster or things are gonna go sideways real fast."
"The Royal Woods Gazette are for those who have earned that spot, and even though that lady said I earned it or something, I am not gonna take it. Not now, not ever. She can find some other mom whose good at her job, because I am not the mom she needs for the article and I am not gonna keep writing down some advice so that other mom's would know."
"Also, that whole gig she has in store for me would lead to something else and that something else would be the press and not the ones here in town and that would spell so much trouble."
Lincoln thinks about this and he recalls something. "Yeah, I'm starting to see the picture too mom. I guess you dodged the bullet and made the right choice, I don't wanna have to go through the same thing again as what we went through this month and last month."
Lincoln scooches closer to his mom and he holds her hand tightly.
Luna can see that this is getting uncomfortable for him and so she hugs him and kisses his forehead. "There, there Linc. What happened, happened and it's not gonna happen again. I won't let that lady try and ruin the life we have with her gazette ideas. You have my word."
Lincoln hugs her back, and both of them don't know that Jesse Hiller is hearing this, she managed to catch up to them and after hearing what Luna said, made so much sense and she does not wanna end up like the people who came to their town.
'Maybe this was a bad idea.' Jesse Hiller then walks away and back to her car.
Lincoln and Luna depart from the hug, they then decide to just let in all the peace and quiet of the place and enjoy the serene environment and atmosphere. But then they hear some folks speak to them.
"Well hello there Linc and Lunes, it's good to see the two of you here." Lincoln and Luna stop and they know who that voice belongs to. They both turn around and see a handsome man and beautiful woman they both know all too well.
The lady has a slender figure body with tan skin and has long, dark brown hair that goes all the way down to her waist. This woman is wearing hooped earrings, similar to Leni's only golden, a pink buttoned shirt with a white collar with sleeves rolled up, a red skirt, and black high heel shoes. She also wears lipstick. She is also a French-American Descent.
The man is a good-looking young man, with brown hair with a tuff that slightly covers his eye. He wears a pink buttoned shirt, with a blue jacket tied around his beck, light khakis.
Who are they? Sirena Dimartino and Hugh Kirshen Churchill.
The sight of them makes them blush, but they soon snap out of it. "Hugh and Ms. Dimartino? What the heck are you guys doing here?" asked Lincoln. "Also, you guys do know folks will be attracted to the two of you, right?"
"Yes we are aware of that Lincoln, and that is why they are going to be disappointed when they find out about what we've committed to now" said Sirena Dimartino.
Lincoln and Luna are both confused. "What do you mean?" asked Luna.
Hugh decides to tell them. "Well, Sirena and I are now dating, we're both boyfriend and girlfriend."
This shocks them. "Wait what? Whoa! When the heck did this happen?" asked Lincoln.
"Well, truth be told it happened right after the whole case that you lot were in during the summer, sorry for mentioning that one" replied Hugh.
"No need, please tell us more. We wanna know how you two became a couple, right guys?" said Lincoln.
They then see Lincoln's guy friends in the bushes and some of Jordan's gal friends as well.
"How the heck did you guys know we were here?!" asked Rusty.
"Guys, you're bikes are over there." Luna points to their bikes by the side of the tree not to far from them.
"Dang it!"
Dimartino and Hugh chuckle. "Come on kids, no need for that. We should tell you lot that we're no longer single and that we have found out that we have a lot in common and through this, we can finally get the stalkers off our backs and you kids are also one of them" replied Hugh.
The kids all blush red with embarrassment, "You know, after saying they're dating, I kinda feel like I ain't attracted to Ms. Dimartino any more" replied Liam. "That or because I have a girlfriend and she'd kill me if she knew I was here!"
"Then I think it's best to tell you all how we met and how we had our date and saw so much in common" replied Dimartino.
They all listen into the story of how Dimartino and Hugh became a thing. Through every story, this made them realize how much the populace being attracted to them has been quite annoying and made them scared of even having friends, but they found solace in each other.
Lincoln and Luna are now hoping through this, it can get some heat off of Hugh and Dimartino from the troubles of people swooning over them and with Jenny Mulligan there listening as well, it could spread like wildfire.
A/N: There is so much that could happen as the two have their adventures go on once December hits, and the next chapter will also show how everyone is feeling from the news about Hugh and Dimartino and no, Luna will not deal with the Royal Woods Gazette, but chances Huggins will question about the kids not participating in the Grade School Writing Club. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
