Chapter 117: A few small issues.
(Royal Woods Elementary School.)
Lincoln is walking down the halls, then he sees all of his friends go to him and all of them are very worried. "Lincoln!"
Lincoln sighs. "Well, here we go."
They all gather around him.
"We heard about what had happened with the visit to your former parents" said Stella.
"What the heck happened? We only know that two guys escaped and there was gun fire" said Zach.
"Did you get hurt? Did your mom get hurt? Did anyone get hurt? Who tried to do this?" asked Jenny.
"We also got rumors that you used a gun, and actually shot someone. Is that true?" asked Trent.
"What about from yesterday with the scientist lady? What the heck was that all about?" asked Rusty.
But then Jordan and Clyde intervene. "Guys stop!" They all backup and see Lincoln being tended to by his best friend and girlfriend. "Are you okay buddy?" asked Clyde.
Lincoln nods. "Yeah, I am. I just don't need the crowd right now. Things have been rough and we nearly got into trouble when some stupid scientist lady got into our lives and tried to make things worse. We're still trying to handle things once again."
"We got your back Lincoln." Jordan kisses his cheek. She then looks to the others in anger. "And so do the rest of us, because the one thing we all know is that we don't want you going through some painful stuff."
The others are now feeling bad for overcrowding him and nearly making him break down. "Sorry Linc" replied Liam.
Lincoln sighs and he walks away from them, with Clyde and Jordan following. This puts concern onto the others. "Dude, what the heck was wrong with us?" asked Artie.
"What the heck were we even thinking? How the heck did we forget that he can't handle too much pressure from an event that is troubling?" asked Cristina.
"Looks like we got a lot to make up for what we did" said Lance.
Lincoln continues to walk down the halls to his locker, but then he runs into Lucy who goes over and hugs him. "Lincoln, I heard about what happened. I'm sorry you nearly had to go through with it again."
Lincoln hugs her back. "No need to worry Luce, everything's okay now. I'm fine and so is mom and the others, though Michelle Lewis is still kinda sore, but she'll manage."
They then depart from the hug. "If you need some support, then just ask. Also, what the heck did I hear about Lisa who helped?" asked Lucy.
They then spot the 4 year old girl walk down another hallway with her sister Darcy. "Let's just say that she helped stop the madness before it even went wrong real fast. We plan to talk to her, soon I hope. But chances she won't talk to us."
"But did she talk to you yesterday?" asked Clyde.
"She did, but she didn't seem like she wanted to do anything with the life we have now. Almost like she's avoiding us" said Lincoln.
"I think I understand her" replied Lucy. "She wants to help keep you and Luna safe, but at the same time not get involved and make things worse. Talking to her is not gonna be an easy ride, you know how Lisa is when it comes to talking to other about her emotions, even after all that has happened to our old family, she still retains her lass than pleasant smarty pants self."
Lincoln sighs. "Yeah, but I know mom and I have some plans to one day talk to her and fully thank her for what she did." They then walk down the halls together. "So, anything else new while I was gone for one day?"
Jordan and Clyde look to Lucy. "He should know now."
Lincoln is confused. "Know what?"
Lucy smiles. "The Writing club is back in action in the school."
Lincoln is shocked. "What? But what about Huggins?"
"No need to worry about him, the Superintendent dealt with him and he is no longer in charge of the Royal Woods Elementary Writing Club, my mom is. Under strict orders from the School Board, and now they're gonna keep a very close eye on Principal Huggins to make sure this does not happen again" replied Lucy.
"I also vouched in as well, and told the school board how less of a good principal, Huggins has been. But I do fear that he may lose his job when the school year is over at the beginning of summer" replied Clyde. "But, he didn't do much of a good job, and the school board is also asking me to be their eyes and ears on anything bad going on with the education system of the school."
Lincoln smiles. "Well that's good to know and I only assume that Haiku and some members of the Young Morticians Club are happy to know of this?"
"They are, and they look forward to being part of the Writing Club, we're also going to have a big field trip with my mom to go and look at places that could inspire us for any future poems" replied Lucy.
"That's great. Who knows, maybe you guys get the chance to go to the burnt Bean" replied Jordan.
Lucy chuckles. "Sorry, but that place seems way too exclusive and sounds like it's only for college kids. We're not suited for it."
Lincoln smirks. "Never say never." They then hear a commotion and see some students trying to stop a fight. "What the heck is going on here?"
They go over and see Chad, and he has some bruises after having a fight with a kid Lincoln knows once before. (From the episode; Heavy Meddle.)
Lucy knows that kid and she looks away. Lincoln can tell this isn't good for both of the, since the kid reminds them so much of the past. "We should go now." They then walk back to their respective classes, not getting involved in this.
But then Clyde realizes. "Wait! I'm the junior superintendent!" He blows his whistle. "Stop this fight right now!"
(Royal Woods High School.)
Luna and Sam are both walking down the halls going through some lyrics for an upcoming gig next week. They do notice the other teens waving at her and congratulating her for taking down some inmates and stopping some illegal science division.
"Wow. Someone is back to being the popular lady in school" replied Sam.
Luna smirks. "Sammy, I do not wanna be well-known in school. I'd rather be the mother teen who wants to be left to her own thing, besides we got a big gig this Saturday. It could be the big top gun stage for us when we get to the racetrack and perform the national anthem to the large crowd."
"Heck yeah we are so ready for that one!" Sully and Mazzy go to them and look stoked.
"So, we ready with the gear we need to go there?" asked Mazzy.
"We got all gear locked, stocked and ready for one heck of a gig. I even got word that our manager for the tour next year, Katie Crest said she was gonna be there" replied Luna. She didn't seem to sound happy. "I just wish she wasn't part of it. She's gonna be so annoying when the weekend hits."
Sam sighs. "Yeah, but thankfully she can't do anything to us. We're signed in to perform one thing and then watch the race. If it weren't for you and Linc, then we couldn't have gotten the chance to go there this Saturday."
Luna smirks. "Yeah, sure is gonna be wicked awesome. We have done a few gigs in the past, but the big race for Bobbie Fletcher is one we're gonna make it big again, even before the whole musical tour thing."
They then walk to the music club. "So, I have noticed you're not really stoked about the tour, even with Mick Swagger being part of it" replied Sully.
"Yeah, I mean you idolize the man for the music you love" said Mazzy.
Luna puts her notebook away. "Not gonna lie, I did idolize Mick. But things have changed, and everything is as clear as daylight now that I can see clearly with the rain and ashes gone. Mick was the man who guided me to rock and roll, but it also misguided me away from the good path, and that path was to be there for Lincoln. I am happy I met Sam on the day at the concert, but it was also the day I forgot my role to be Linc's guardian and it hurt him when he saw me come home and look like someone he doesn't know anymore."
Every word she speaks sounded like she had so much to regret. "Yeah, kinda wish we met differently and maybe things wouldn't have turned south of the cheese real fast" replied Sam.
"Which we have to ask, how the heck are the former rents?" asked Mazzy. "But if you don't wanna say anything, then it's cool with us Luna."
"No, it's alright" replied Luna. "I guess we can see that Rita and Lynn Sr do feel bad after what's happened and they're both trying their hardest to redeem themselves for the actions of the past and doing great strides in parenting classes."
"But even if they do get out for good behavior, it won't mean they're gonna be my mom and dad anymore, and same goes for Lincoln as well. They lost, they did this to themselves. They might as well find a way to take in any of the other former family, just not me and Linc, and sure as heck they can't gain custody of Lori and Leni."
"That one is true." They see Carol and Beatrix walk with them, those two are also part of the music club, just not the rock n' roll ones. "Lori is gonna be legally an adult and Leni has her own choices and she did make her own last name for when she gets out, which means she's gonna be living a new life on her own."
"And from what the court made in the aftermath, Lynn Sr and Rita are only allowed custody of one former family member. But they can't get that from Lily, Lisa or Lucy, and no one knows the condition of the twins" replied Beatrix. "They can try for Luan, if they can handle it. So that just leaves Lynn Jr."
Luna smirks. "Sure as heck she'll be the one they wanna gain custody over. She bares the guy's name but the hot issue is their last name. Once they're out of jail, they aren't louds anymore, that last name is now being redeemed and changed by me and Linc."
"Those two will figure out something" replied Sam. "In the meantime, we should get our gear and stuff together. We got a lot of work to do if we're gonna make our performance in Georgia one heck of a musical encore!"
Then Carol asks. "Luna, about the hero version you guys met?"
"What about them?" asked Luna.
"When are you guys gonna go and see them?" asked Carol.
Luna thinks about this. "I'm gonna need to talk with my kid about this, sure we wanna meet our hero counterparts again and see how they've been doing since the last time they were here. But we also don't wanna disturb whatever it is they're doing too. So, maybe sometime in this week we can go and see them."
"Why? You wanna go and see them?" asked Sam.
Carol nods. "I wanna know what's this all about with the life they have, and I know they went through the luck thing as well and I wanna know how they dealt with it."
"Same here dude, same here" replied Luna.
Sully and Mazzy are confused. "Kinda in the dark here dudes, what the heck are you talking about?"
(Royal Woods Juvenile Detention Hall.)
Luna, Lincoln, Lucy, Michelle Lewis, Sam and Carol are waiting patiently by the tables and chairs. They then see the guards walk through, just two guards and with them is Lori.
Lincoln gets off his seat and he races to Lori and they both embrace each other, and Lucy joins in as well.
"I missed you two so, so much." Lori then breaks from the hug. "I heard about what happened. What I would do to get my hands on those jerks who tried to hurt you guys. I'm so glad you're both safe." Lori hugs them both.
Luna, Sam. Michelle and Carol walk towards her. "Hey Lori, nice look" said Sam.
Lori has changed, her prison attire is no longer an orange jumpsuit, and she has been transferred to the well-behaved area alongside her roommate. She now has a ponytail and wearing Nike sneakers.
"Yeah, well after some time for good behavior, they thought I was more suited in being with the good girls and not with the others." Lori departs from the hug. "But I did told the other inmates to not give up and keep trying to redeem themselves of the wrongs they have done in the past and that one day, they can have a changed life outside the bars of the detention hall."
Luna smiles. "That's the Lori I know." they both hug each other. "Good to see ya again Lori."
"Good to see you too Luna, and I am so sorry you had to go through that. I mean, I wanna go and see how the former parents are, but what happened sounded like a total cluster of hell" replied Lori.
She then looks to Michelle. "Are you feeling okay?"
Michelle nods. "A bit sore, but doing well. I mean, I have a hard time sleeping on my right side, but it'll fade in time. What truly matters, is that the family is safe and sound."
Lori and Luna depart from the hug. "That's good to know, and I'm glad you're now part of the loud family. Lincoln and Luna really are happy to have you, as a better aunt and possibly better than Ruth."
"We got a lot to talk about Lori" said Lincoln.
"Yeah, I know." Lori then looks to Carol. "Hi Carol, been a while."
Carol looks nervous. "Y-Yeah, good to see ya too Lori." They then go over and sit by the chairs. They can tell things are getting tense between Lori and Carol. Carol is nervous about what Lori has to say and Lori is not in the mood since she did found out last month about Carol and Bobby dating.
"So, I heard you guys have been doing well and living peacefully. Barely trouble and fighting off anything from tearing the family apart" said Lori.
"We do what we can to stick together and for the record Harriet is here right now" replied Luna. They all look to the wall to the right and see the ghost waving at them.
Seeing her was making Lori uneasy. "Okay, so I have some things to ask. Like with you Carol."
Carol knew she'd ask her first. "Carol, I'm okay with you and Bobby dating."
"Lori, I am so sorry….. I just didn't like to see him so….. Wait, what?"
Lori nods. "I am okay with you and Bobby Santiago dating." This shocks them, they did not see this coming, yet Harriet smiles. She knew this was gonna happen.
Lori then asks. "Carol, how long has Bobby been depressed since the court? Has he cried a lot?"
Carol nods. "From what his family said, he's been so depressed and has been trying to find some way to get over you. Heck, his Abuelo said he ended up crying in the freezer and kissing all the mange flavored ice cream there and the actual mangoes, which they had to constantly order more ones that aren't soiled by his lips and tears."
"At nights they would hear him cry his heart out, and then they would try to calm him down and show him comfort. Heck, even the mean parrot felt bad for him and didn't wanna see him so broken up. Ronnie Anne felt so much anger after all that happened, she didn't like to see her big brother like this, and same with their mom."
Lori could now see just how much her actions towards Lincoln and the bad luck thing has caused, the court, the arrests, the truth and now this. "So, how is he now?"
"He's doing well. We dated a few times, but we're not boyfriend and girlfriend. I swear he is planning on that kinda proposal, but I told him to wait for the right moment. I'm still busy with other things, and not in the right mood when it comes to video chats" said Carol.
"He understands and he wishes to improve himself, heck he's even doing studying in the Mercado and he passed his B.A.T. The hot issue, was when the family was told."
Lori chuckles. "Let me guess, Carl?"
Carol sighs. "That kid is such a perv and so annoying too. I had to put my foot down and told his parents about his actions. He's been in trouble so many times when I come to visit Great Lakes City. He's currently grounded till the end of the week, and at this point he might be grounded for a month."
Lori smirks. "He seemed to try to convince me so many times, glad I'm not facing him now." she then has a face of sadness. "Do they know how I am?"
Luna sighs. "No, they don't want anything to do with you. Heck, the whole Casagrande family doesn't wanna have anything to do with any of the former louds. They only wanna check on what our family is doing and gaining trust from Lucy is hard too."
"They don't seem to fond of me" replied Lucy.
"But we try to tell them that you and Leni are trying, the only issue is getting them to know that you guys have changed and whenever we try to spark a conversation about you, well Bobby leaves the room" replied Lincoln.
Lori sighs. "I can't blame him. They know about what kind of sister am I, and I have to do whatever I can to improve myself if I am to show everyone how much I've changed. That's gonna be a long, long road to go by."
Luna places a hand on her shoulder. "We can see that you have changed and we know you can be trusted back into society when your sentence here is done. Don't give up hope Lori, we know you can make it happen. The same never give up kinda gal we have come to know and love, like always."
Lori smiles and wipes away a tear. "Thanks guys, and I do hope everyone else who knows about what I've done can see I'm not the same old Lori Loud anymore."
She then asks them. "Well, with all that said, I wanna know what you guys have planned for Christmas."
And that, is for another time.
A/N: It is unknown on when Lisa will be open to talk with them and they're trip to see Bobbie Fletcher race is inbound folks, so get ready for that one and sooner or later, the Royal Defenders will come and check on the Family of Two. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
