Family of Two.

Chapter 118: Feeling the Festive.

(Royal Woods Mall.)

Everyone is going in and out of the mall, and everyone are all having the same thoughts, to make their Christmas as good as it was last year. Shopping for gifts, to checking out the newest in awesome gifts and stylish trends.

Some new decorations are on sale and tons of awesome clothing, and Reiningers has never been so busy, even Michelle Lewis is trying to keep track of everyone coming in to purchase the latest in winter fashion and Fiona and Miguel have their hands full.

Jordan along with her mom and dad are headed home with the stuff they got from shopping and also something cute for Ajax to wear. But something tells me he won't like it.

Lucy along with her family go to the nearest Goth store to see what they can find that is dark and still festive and the awkward part, Lucy runs into all members of the Young Morticians club who are also looking for the same thing. Awkward.

Clyde and his dad's, along with Chloe and her family go through the mall to check out what they can make for their first ever big Christmas dinner together, but there's so much to choose from the cook books and tools needed. Chloe and Clyde have a lot to choose from.

Sam, along with Sully and Mazzy are at the music store and are checking out the new Christmas albums from famous rockstars and finally! Mazzy can finally afford the keytar that is on sale.

Sully sees something else he can get for Mazzy, they are gonna have an awesome Christmas party on December 18 at the High School and he's glad that he's the white elephant to Mazzy.

Sam also found something, something to give to Luna and she knows she'll love it too.

And now, Lincoln and Luna. The mother and son are walking down the mall and have lots of things they bought. "Dang. We sure did tons of shopping and I dig the idea of getting some new Christmas Decorations too" said Luna. "Good call kiddo."

"Well, I thought it would be an awesome idea since I know that the old Christmas decorations won't work, it has been so long and ever since the eleven years of being around the others, we've had a lot of good Christmas's" replied Lincoln.

"Well, we got what we needed and now we can head on home and make the house look festive for the whole month" replied Luna. "Also, there has been news of a small snowstorm tonight. We should be careful."

"And that's what the FutureTech guys are for" said Lincoln. He has some thoughts about something, but he'll tell his mom later.

Lincoln and Luna continue to walk through the mall, then they run into Jackie and Mandee. "Hey guys, looks like you two did some awesome shopping" said Mandee.

"We did, and we made sure we got all we need for our Christmas to look wicked awesome" said Luna.

"You girls look like you all had an awesome time shopping too" replied Lincoln.

Jackie giggles. "Good eye there kid, we got tons of clothing and even some stuff to send to Leni as our Christmas gifts to her."

Luna smirks. "Well, might as well rethink that one dudes. Soon, were gonna go and see Leni, somewhere around the third week of the month and tell her our plan for Christmas and we want you two along with Fiona and Miguel to come along and know what it is."

Mandee and Jackie smile hearing this. "We are totes gonna love seeing our old bestie again." They then part ways, but Jackie and Mandee kiss Lincoln's cheek and then head off.

This makes Lincoln blush and Luna chuckle. "Dang Linc, if I didn't know any better, I'd say some angel is hovering above you with a mistletoe and a sign that says; Come and kiss this cutie."

Lincoln chuckles and is red in embarrassment. "Come on mom, not right now. I'm with Jordan, and those teens just liked me, that's all."

Luna smirks. "Yeah, let's just say tons of girls who knew you before all see you as cute and adorable. I know from the rumors and most wish you were they're age. I mean, you're nice, sensitive and funny and always seems to know how to treat a girl right and also do what you can to show them how much you care."

Lincoln chuckles. "After living with such a big family, I kinda took in some tips and tricks on how a girl should be treated and not the same old stick from the whole Girl Guru thing."

They then go to Luna's car and they begin to pack everything they got, they do see the snow falling. "Looks like the small snow storm is inbound sooner than we thought" said Luna. "Let's get going before we get snowed in."

They both hop into the car and they drive off. But then something comes into Luna's thoughts. 'This is gonna be our first Christmas without the whole family, how the heck will Linc get through this? Will he be okay with it like when we had our first Halloween and Thanksgiving without the whole fam?'

That was something Luna has to figure out, but she has no clue that her son, Lincoln is not fazed by this at all.

(The Loud House.)

The purple Ferrari arrives and Lincoln and Luna come out to see the house is being decorated, and they whose the one doing it. "Hello children, how was the mall?" Harriet comes down and she finishes with the Christmas lights outside the house.

"Whoa. Nice, though you didn't seem to add the reindeer and Santa on the top of the roof" said Luna.

"Yeah, about that. When I went to the attic to check on the old Christmas decorations from last year, some of them are now worn out and cannot be used anymore, also the Santa and his reindeer decoration was ten years ago and I guess it's finally done."

"Then I'm glad we got something else" replied Lincoln. He and Luna go to the trunk and they pull out some new decorations. "How about we make this Christmas something different this time?"

Harriet smiles. "Now that sounds like an awesome idea. Let's get to it, also I was able to setup the Christmas tree, but the lights are down and won't work anymore."

Luna smiles. "Then be lucky we shopped for tons of new Decorations. Let's do this guys."

They all go into the house and they begin to decorate the Tree and the walls with the new decorations they have, but while they do this, they're cantankerous neighbor watches and smiles.

"Glad they're getting into the holiday spirit as everyone else is. Sure is gonna be different for them with less of the family." But his smile soon fades.

He's still upset that he wasn't able to be there to help Lincoln when he was kicked out of the house and he knows that deep down, the boy has lost trust into the old man and even after all they've been through, especially helping him go to his family on Christmas.

Mr. Grouse sighs. He then walks back into his house, he is happy he got a job for an IT company, but not enough cash for him to go and see his family for the holidays. He just hopes he can be happy and okay with this year.

Mr. Grouse then looks to his living room and he sees the sled he gave to Lincoln is near the fireplace. He recalls that after knowing that Grouse did nothing, Lincoln gave back the sled, and he feels like he was betrayed after all he did to help the old man and now doesn't seem to trust or see him as a friend anymore.

Mr. Grouse looks to the sled and he picks it up, he then looks to the picture of himself when he was a kid with the sled. "Grouse, what the heck did you do to deserve this? Why didn't I help him?"

He then puts the sled back and he sits on his couch and goes through the photo album of the day the louds helped make his Christmas the best he's ever had, and he sees the photo of himself with Lincoln all happy and such.

He can be happy for the memories, but earning someone's trust is another thing.

(Later.)

Michelle Lewis arrives to the house and is amazed at what she sees. "Holy moly." she comes out of her car and she's amazed at the lights on the roof and the two angels on the top glowing.

"Wow! This is…. wow!"

Then the door of the house opens and Lincoln comes out and he races to Michelle and hugs her. "Hey there sport, what the heck? You guys got the whole place looking like Santa should come here."

They then depart from the hug. "We just thought it would be nice to show something else for our house this year. That and the old Christmas decorations don't work anymore."

Then, they go inside and Michelle sees how festive the inside of the house looks. Lights are setup by the doorway that leads to the dining room, the Christmas tree is looking quite lovely and the stair railings have some decorations as well. The whole house is looking nice.

"Dang. Love the décor and setup guys, kinda feels like Santa's house all of a sudden" said Michelle. She then sees a large plate with cookies and some glasses of milk on the coffee table. "Yup, this is Santa's house alright."

Luna and Harriet then comes out of the dining room. "Welcome home Michelle, and sorry for the setup with the milk and cookies. We decided that for dinner, we should just snack on something nice and watch something heartwarming" replied Luna.

"The whole thing was Lincoln's idea" replied Harriet. She then places down some cannolis onto the table as well, with some brownies. "The rest of the house was a tram effort."

"Well, you guys could've waited for me to help out" said Michelle Lewis.

"True, but you had a busy day and we didn't wanna hassle you with helping us with the decorations" replied Lincoln.

Michelle smirks and she hugs Lincoln. "The-man-with-the-plan at his works as usual." They then depart from the hug. "Alright, so now that I'm here. Why don't we watch what Linc has planned for us?"

They all get on the couch and Lincoln places into the DVD player the film they bought today, the animated film of "A Christmas Carol."

Luna pulls her son close to her, and Lincoln leans his head onto his mom and they all enjoy watching this film. Harriet is confused. "Why is the Ghost of Christmas past a candle?"

(Nighttime.)

The night has fallen and now everyone is enjoying some well-earned rest, from a good day before the snow storm comes at night. The Christmas lights are glowing nicely outside and they make the town look as festive as any other house.

Michelle Lewis is fast asleep and she begins to murmur something about cookies and her old family.

Harriet is in her room and she's going through some books and has been trying to contact the Guardian Gyro, but all she gets is replies from this girl named Pyrrha Nikkos. She didn't know Gyro had an apprentice.

Luna walks into the room she shares with Lincoln, and she smiles when she sees her son putting his books away and his bag. He then turns around and he hugs his mom.

Luna hugs him back. "Everything alright kiddo?"

They both depart from the hug. "Yeah, everything's okay. This is our first time not having all the louds for Christmas, but I know we can get through this. We can always send them letters and I know the plan we have for Lori and Leni will work. We just need to tell Leni though."

Luna kisses his forehead. "And we will Linc, soon. But for now, we should get some sleep. We got school tomorrow and a big test next week too."

Lincoln nods and he goes to his bunk. Luna tucks him in and she places his plush polar bear next to him. "Mom?"

"Yeah kiddo?"

"Can we hang out with our hero versions soon? I'd really like to know more about what they've been through and know if…. If there are other Louds like us from across the stars" said Lincoln.

Luna smiles. "I'll see what I can do Linc, now get some shut eye." She then begins to hum a soothing tune to her son,

Lincoln yawns and he gets drowsy from his mother's calming singing voice. He slowly begins to close his eyes. "Goodnight, mom. I love you." And he's out like a light.

Luna smiles at the good work she's been doing to keep her son safe and happy. She knows that when the month is over, they're gonna be ready to face a new year and a whole new of hijinks and troubles as the Family of Two.

Then she recalls the request Lincoln asked, about their hero counterparts. 'Maybe we should speak to them, and not just hang out with our hero versions.'

Luna grabs her phone and she sends a text to them. Hey there hero dude, my son and I are wondering when you guys are coming to our world. He wants to hang out with you guys, it's cool if you guys are busy.

It wasn't long for her to get a reply from the kid she texted to.

Freezer Burn – I think we can arrange something, for tomorrow. You're home, not the park, just your home after school.

Luna smiles, she then looks to her sleeping son and she kisses his forehead. "Goodnight kiddo, Luna loves you, always."

Tomorrow, Lincoln is gonna have one heroic surprise.

A/N: The month is feeling quite nice and good, the merriest of times is here and everything will be as jolly as it always is every year for all of us. What the heck does Lincoln and Luna have planned for December 24? We'll know only when the time comes, and soon we'll see them chill and talk with their hero counterparts from "Spells and Louds". Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
