Family of Two.
Chapter 130: Early incomings.
(The Royal Woods Mall.)
The Christmas sale is close to ending and right now some folks are trying to make some last minute purchase before the sale ends, but once Christmas is over, that's when all shopping places have to lock and load for the New Year's Sales.
Lincoln and Luna walk out of the music store with some new headphones. "These are awesome mom, sure is nice to have some backup headphones."
Luna smirks. "Truth be told kiddo, I had my eye on those months ago. Just needed to wait for the right moment for them to go on sale, and what do you know they did make it on sale."
They walk around the mall and spot the nearby electronics store. "How about we go and get a gift for Leni? Her birthday is coming next year on the second month."
Lincoln smiles. "I think that's a good idea, and I think I know what we can get her." They walk into the electronics store and search for whatever they can give to Leni, but we know what they might give her.
While they do that, Clyde and Chloe are going around the mall and looking through the window of the kitchen tools and supplies. "Okay, so there seems to be nothing new going on here. Wanna take this whole thing to another place?" asked Clyde.
"Sure. But let's not take too long, we have to meet my family at the food court later" replied Chloe.
As they continue to walk through the mall, Clyde stops and he backs up and he spots something on the window of the nearby bookstore and he reads it.
Chloe sees Clyde looking at something. "Clyde, what are you looking at?" She also sees what it is.
"Ever wanted to feel what it's like to be an Astronaut. Then the Space Cadets Experience is just for you, where you can experience what it's like to be a real astronaut in one week of fun learning and adventures. Entries start on January 10 and camp opens on January 17."
Chloe is confused and she looks towards Clyde. "Clyde, whatever it is your thinking, don't think about it. Remember the last time you trusted something on fliers and commercials?"
Clyde recalls the pot he bought which he thought could be useful for stew, but it fell apart and the dinner he made was ruined, and also spilled on his dad's lap and it burns.
Clyde cringes at the thought. "Oh yea, that on was something I couldn't get over. Still feel bad for my dad, and the dinner. But this is something else, space camp and I wanna spend time with Lincoln to see if he'd wanna be part of it too."
Chloe knows she can't stop him from this plan he has. "Okay then, well you're gonna need to ask Lincoln and then he has to ask his mom, but be sure that there won't be any kind of trouble when you guys get there."
They both begin to walk away from the bookstore. "I doubt anything bad is gonna happen, it's space camp which means it's gonna be fun and awesome for the both of us, I know it."
While they walk off, they pass by Sully and Mazzy who are both going through one of the songs they plan to show to Luna.
"Alright, so this song needs to sound cool and all good for the Spring Music Festival. Luna will need to see how the beat goes and same with Sam too" said Mazzy.
"We can figure something out soon, right now I am starving" said Sully. "We have got to get something to eat or my gut is gonna turn into a black hole and eat me alive."
Mazzy giggles. "Alright, alright. Come on Mr. Hungry guts." They go and look for the food court, then Mazzy recalls something. "Sully, when summer does come. You think we can handle the rules Luna made?"
"I don't know" said Sully. "To be honest, the whole Summer Musical Tour kinda gives me the jitters. I mean, I'm okay with large crowds cheering our name and we did perform the national anthem on live TV and at a grand stage at a racing event."
"The summer tour, is gonna be the big time for all of us and we haven't even dealt with the outcomes of what happens when the rules get overruled."
"If that does happen, then Luna and Sam are not gonna be happy" said Mazzy. "We have to try and help keep an eye on Lincoln as he comes with us onto the tour, I mean he wants to be there for Luna and we don't know how long we're gonna be gone."
"The kid will be upset and Luna will be homesick and we as well might fell not as groovy as we go on with the tour, I mean sure Chunk could handle it. But Luna and Sam are a major question and let's also not forget that fans will be there, and obviously will be there for Mick Swagger and also towards Luna" replied Sully.
"They did make the whole country feel less of an issue with conmen and fake tourist stuff, when word that Luna Loud is on the country's musical summer tour, it's gonna be one heck of a crowd" said Mazzy. "We need to make sure she doesn't snap and see to it no fans goes overboard to take pics of her."
"Most of the times they don't want pics and all they want is feels and that makes me sick to know that."
"Luna used to do that too, when she wanted a lock of Mick Swaggers' hair" said Sully.
"That was long ago dude, right now Luna is changed and is trying to be the best mom she can be to the little dude. Also, another issue on tour will be parties and Mick Swagger's band mates" said Mazzy.
They are close to the food court as they talk. "No joke, I recall that Mick Swagger and the band were looking for the drummer after one crazy night in Vegas and the news chopper found him on the roof and all sun burned too" replied Sully.
"If they start convincing us to drink, then we deny it. We're not ready for that yet" said Mazzy.
"They try to reason with us to the bad point, then we take our leave and tell Luna" said Sully.
They both find some seats and then they go over and get something to eat.
But as they walk into the food court to get something to eat, Lucy and Haiku walk away from the food court along with Maggie and they don't seem happy.
Maggie looks to the two Goth girls. "Hey girls, come on and try to put less of a smile on those faces."
"Sigh, sorry sis. But after hearing the news, we might not be too ecstatic when next month comes" said Lucy.
"the hardest of things to do, is saying goodbye to those you have held dear and to the Young Mortician's Club, just knowing that our club President is not gonna be around hurts the most" replied Haiku.
"How dare his parents do this and have them move to a cruise ship for the rest of his school life" said Lucy. "That is blasphemy and total malarchy and I don't like it at all."
"Ugh, sun and joy on the deck of a ship is enough to make me feel nauseous and wish for that boat to sink" said Haiku. This gives Haiku and Lucy an idea.
Maggie can tell what this is about. "Oh no, no, no. Girls, don't do anything to get into trouble."
"Look, I know things won't be the same with Bartholomew gone when next month hits, but at least treasure the Goth and dark moments with him before he does take off and perhaps give him the truest of dark experiences to make him feel like he will always remember the memories of the club you all forged and became part of."
"When does he leave for the cruise ship trip?" asked Maggie.
"Sigh, Bartholomew said he and his parents are going to take sail away on the last Sunday of the month of January" replied Lucy. "It pained him to say the words of his soon departure."
Maggie then thinks. "January 31, I see. Then make a moment of true Goth moments when the day before it comes, on the 30th of the month. Make his moments in Royal Woods the darkest as he would like it and show him how much he will be missed and mourned."
Haiku smiles hearing this. "Wow. That does sound like a good idea, maybe trying to find a way to make a ship sink is a bad idea."
Maggie scoffs. "Ya think. Lucy, don't forget that we also have to say goodbye to someone else next month as well."
"Sigh, I haven't forgotten and we have to make the moments with dad all worthwhile before he goes back into service to fight for the country" said Lucy.
"Looks like we all have something sad, tragic and unhappy to look forward to when next month comes. Oh, how ironically devious the universe can be to implore these trials of dark and depressing times onto all of us" said Haiku.
Maggie and Lucy nod. "So true."
"So, any news on what might be the issue with Luan is?" asked Lucy to her sister.
"Luna said that she's in, stable condition. Sort of" replied Maggie.
Lucy and Haiku looks to her. "Wait what?" They then make their way to the gothic store.
Passing by them is Margo and Paula and both are going through the sports news on the tablet.
"So, next year when spring hits we gotta be ready for soccer, and then for basketball and then for football too. We got a big list of sports to make happen soon" said Paula.
Margo also sees what else is coming for sports events. "Also, the World Championship Football finals is on the last Sunday of the month. The Lions go toe-to-toe against the Rhino's."
She then checks what else is coming. "Then there's the baseball game between the Volcanoes and the Meteors and we both are on the same side right?"
"The heck we are! Volcanoes are so gonna win the game" said Paula.
Margo then goes through the list and she sees something for the last day of the month. "Oh, the hockey game will be up, the last one of 2020. The Royal Woods Jellyfish against the New Jersey Gaba-Ghouls, and we get to see Rowdy McQuads play too."
As they keep walking. Margo then recalls. "Lynn loved to watch this, but she would also act up and do those stupid good luck rituals which are just so ding dang annoying! Glad she's not around."
Paula then asks. "Do you miss her?"
Margo then sighs. "Yeah, I guess. I mean, she was my best friend and we have been such good spots buddies for such a long, long time and we always had fun with sports. But then came the issue with her doing some dumb sports luck and rituals, and after all this time it was all because of her dad and his ability to spread her some made up crud that she took seriously!"
Paula felt bad for Margo. "How about you go and see how she's doing?"
Margo is wide eyed hearing this. "What? Why?"
"Well, you sound miserable and you seem to wanna know how she has been handling after the whole bad luck thing, I mean she seems to regret it and chances she wants to change from the past that she made during the summer, recall that girl in the court named Annabelle?" said Paula.
"What about her? She's a McCann girl from juvie" said Margo.
"I was at the court that day, why? Because Chandler was the second reason why I have this cast still. Also, I overheard that Annabelle C. McCann is the cellmate of Lynn, and that she's been trying to help her change from her depressed state and now Lynn is not into the whole luck and rituals crud" said Paula.
Margo thinks about this, she doesn't wanna see Lynn, but another part of her wants to see how she's been doing. "Maybe you're right. I should go and see how Lynn is doing, to see if she has changed away from the path of superstition and stupid rituals."
Paula smiles. "Good, now all you gotta do is ask Luna Loud to tag along with them."
Margo goes wide eyed. "Okay, now that one is gonna be tough for me." They then walk into the sportswear store to see what else is new there and there are tons of merchandise based off of the Royal Woods Jellyfish.
Two little girls and one teen walk by the place. Teri and her two little sister, Darcy and Lisa. They both walk out of the dress store and Teri looks to the dress she bought.
"You're gonna look so pretty for the High School Winter Dance Teri" said Darcy.
Teri chuckles. "Thanks sis, and I can't wait too. My boyfriend is gonna be so shocked and awe to see me." They continue to walk, then Teri and Darcy see Lisa looking at the electronic store.
They also look at what she's looking and they are wide eyed to see Lincoln and Luna walk out of the place and are chatting with each other.
Teri and Darcy know what this is about. "Lisa, are you okay?" asked Darcy.
Lisa sighs. "No, no I am not Darcy. I am the opposite of okay and right now there seems to be more butterflies within me that wish to come out, but I keep holding them in."
Teri sighs. "Lisa, these feelings of regret you have are gonna keep getting bottled inside of you and sooner or later, you need to talk to Lincoln and Luna."
"That is something I am having a hard time to manage. I do not wish to bother the life they have and do not wish to upset them and possibly make Lincoln beyond angry to the memory of my actions towards him during the whole…. Bad luck fiasco" replied Lisa.
"Lisa, remember what mom and dad said" replied Darcy. "If you don't tell them how you feel, then you'll never get that thing off your chest, and there's nothing on your chest either."
"Yes, I am very familiar with such words and phrases. The issue I have is that I have fear of what would happen should I interact with Lincoln, my actions were almost as worst as what Lana did and what Lynn also did" said Lisa. "I know he has forgiven most of the former louds, and I have yet to know more about the outcome to most of them."
"Then maybe when the time comes, and when the time is right, then talk to them and see how they feel and they'll hear you out. They did do so with Lucy" said Teri.
Lisa thinks about this. "Thank you for the advice Teri, I shall consider this option soon."
But they both know she won't. No matter how many times they convince Lisa to talk to them, nothing seems to work. They are proud she helped stop Incognito labs and that weird science lady from taking Lincoln and Luna, and she talked to them, sorta.
But Lisa needs to have an actual conversation with them, who knows when that will be.
(Outside.)
Luna's Purple Ferrari drives through the snowy road and drives by Carol's car and then stops at the red light, then Luna gets a message on her phone and she smiles.
She then looks to her son who is going through his comic. "Hey Linc, tomorrow I got something big for us."
Lincoln looks to his mom. "Really? What is it?"
"A mother and son bonding experience and a fun one too" said Luna as they wait for the light to turn green.
"Well that sounds nice, what are we doing tomorrow?" asked Lincoln.
Luna then shows him the message on her phone and he goes wide eyed.
"Dear Luna Loud, after reading your letter we gave it some thought and we decided to let you and your son come and compete on the show: Legends of the Hidden Temple! See you tomorrow at Bay City, Michigan."
Lincoln goes wide eyed reading this. "Holy Cow! What?!"
Luna smirks. "I knew you'd like it kiddo." The light turns green and they drive off back home, to tell Great Grandma Harriet and Michelle Lewis.
