Family of Two.

Chapter 136: a periodical issue.

(December 27. Sharp Residence.)

Normally we'd start this at the Loud House, but we're gonna start here for obvious reasons. Sam goes around the house and she checks on everything there, she's the only one there and is making sure everything is cleaned and made to look nice before her parents and little bro come back with what they're gonna get from her uncle, Peter.

Sam then goes to the couch to watch some TV, but then she hears a knock on the door. "What the heck?" She goes over and she opens the door to see a very upset Lincoln with two large bags and Luna, who doesn't seem quite her usual self.

"Umm, what the heck is going on?" Sam then goes down to Lincoln's level. "Linc, what's wrong?"

Lincoln then hugs Sam and she hugs him back. "Whoa. What the heck? What's wrong buddy?" She then looks to Luna who is looking away. "Luna? What happened?"

Luna sighs. "Sam, I need to talk to you in private, please?"

Sam nods and she departs from the hug with Lincoln. "Linc, go and sit in the living room and I'll be right back with you, okay?"

Lincoln nods, he has some tears but he wipes them off and goes to the couch. Luna is heartbroken to see him like this. Sam then closes the door so they can talk outside.

Lincoln on the other hand recalls what happened at the loud house.

(Flashback.)

Lincoln comes down the stairs and he looks happy, dressed in his winter gear and he has his sled with him and ready to ride. He then sees his mom's coat is still on the rack. 'Where the heck is mom?'

He goes to the living room and he sees no one there, but then she hears some walking in the dining room and then he sees Luna drinking tea and her hands are shaking a bit, her face doesn't seem happy and Michelle and Harriet are trying to talk to her.

"Mom?" They all look to the boy, but Luna doesn't look to her son. "Guys, what the heck is going on?

Harriet looks to Michelle. "Pack the things he needs, now." Michelle nods and she heads up the stairs to the room to pack Lincoln's stuff.

But the boy is confused. "What the? What the heck is happening?" He then looks to Luna. "Mom, what's going on? Why is Michelle packing my stuff? What's wrong mom?"

Luna then puts the tea down. "Linc, you're gonna stay with Sam for a while, I don't know how long, but you're gonna be staying there till this whole thing blows over."

Lincoln is confused from this. "What? But, why?"

Luna sighs. "Linc, please. You're gonna stay there, and when this whole thing is over then I'm gonna come over and we can be back to the way things were, do not disobey me."

Lincoln is startled by this attitude and it makes him scared. Luna sees this and her mood changes to concerned and she goes over to her son who is slowly backing away.

She then kneels down to his level and she hugs him. "Linc, something is going on with me and I don't know how long it's gonna be like this. I don't want you here to face whatever issue I have, and I don't want you to get hurt by whatever I say and whatever I do. This is something that's not gonna be easy for you to understand."

Lincoln is confused, but then he calms down and he hugs his mom. "O-Okay mom, I understand."

They then depart from the hug and she kisses his forehead. "Linc, you're gonna be at Sam's place for a while and she'll keep an eye on you. Keep yourself occupied and do as she says, help her out when she needs it and…. I promise to come and pick you up before December 31, I promise."

Lincoln nods and Luna wipes away his tears. "Linc, don't be like that. What I'm going through is, complicated for girls and Sam went through one weeks ago, so I don't want you to see me in a whole different state. I don't wanna hurt you."

Lincoln kisses her cheek. "Okay mom, okay." They hug each other one more time, and Michelle arrives with two large bags, and they have some of Lincoln's things in them.

(End flashback.)

Lincoln has no clue what was going on, but then he recalls a memory of when the family was loud and large and that memory involved Lori and Leni going through some very weird emotional issues.

'Is mom going through the same thing too? What the heck is happening?'

Then he sees Luna and Sam come back in, he gets up from the couch and he goes to his mom and she kneels down to his level. "Linc, stay with Sam and listen to what she says. Her mom, dad and Simon aren't here, so be good and take care."

They both embrace each other. "I promise you, that I will be back before December 31st, that's a promise."

Lincoln feels like not letting go, but they soon depart from the hug and she kisses his forehead. She then gets up and looks to Sam. "Sorry this is happening, babe."

Sam nods. "It's alright Lunes, I'll keep an eye on our boy. He's gonna be okay with me, and be lucky I'm not going through the same thing you are, and take care." She then hands her some pills. "These will help, I take them sometimes and don't worry, and I got plenty more just in case mine comes back up."

"Thanks Sam." Luna then looks to Lincoln. "See you soon kiddo, take care." She then walks out of the house.

Lincoln and Sam wave goodbye to her, and then they go back into the house. Sam helps carry the other bag and she sees Lincoln slowly following her upstairs. "Linc, come on. There's a guest room you can use."

They make it to the main hallway and Lincoln follows the blonde teen and he sees a room that is nearby Sam's' and the parents room.

Sam opens the door and Lincoln sees the room has two windows that show the backyard, a bathroom and closet. A large white bed with white sheets and pillows, it is really big and a desk with a lamp.

"This is the guest room and most of the times my uncle Peter comes by and stays here when it's the holidays and he didn't come here for Christmas because he was celebrating with some buddies of his in Texas" replied Sam. She then places the bag on the bed and she opens it. "I hope this is okay."

Lincoln nods. "This is…. This is fine, I'm okay with it." He wipes away some tears.

Sam goes over and she hugs him. "Linc, whatever happened was not your fault. What Luna is going through, is something that is not easy to describe."

Lincoln hugs her too, and then he asks. "Lori and Leni… They were like this, long ago. Mom has this too?"

Sam breaks the hug and she wipes away his tears. "Yeah, pretty much. I went through it too, but that was months ago and this condition, it's random so it's totally unexpected." They then sit on the bed and she can still see he looks troubled. "Wanna talk to me about something?"

Lincoln then wipes away his tears again. "W-When mom had that f-face on her, she looked angry at s-something. It felt l-like she was angry a-at me."

"Then she t-told me to stay with you and I g-got so confused and she felt l-like yelling at me, she sounded so mad and I thought that….. That it was my fault she's mad. I was scared, I didn't know what to d-do."

Sam can tell that when the family was big, he didn't have trouble with Lori and Leni when they went through their own issue to the time of the month why? Because Rita was there to help them, and the sisters and Lynn Sr did their best to keep him away from the two moody teens.

Sam then comforts him with another hug. "Lincoln, I promise you that Luna is not mad at you. She has this medical issue that all girls have when they reach they're teen year's, which is somewhere at 13 or 14 starting. Don't cry kiddo, she doesn't hate you and I know that you know that."

Lincoln nods as he hugs Sam. "I know, I'm just so worried about mom. I thought I was in trouble, but I know I wasn't."

Sam continues to hug the boy and she does what Luna would do, she rocks him back and forth as they hug and she hums a soothing tune which calms him down.

Lincoln stops his sadness and feels like the same thing he feels with Luna. "Thank you, mom."

Sam smiles and she kisses his forehead. "Anytime Linc, always kiddo."

They both stay like this, calming and peaceful.

(Hours later.)

Lincoln had finished unpacking and now he sees his stuff are now in the room and looking nice. He then looks to the picture of himself and Luna at the park. 'I know this has nothing to do with me mom, I know that and I know you still love me and I love you. You do this to keep me safe and that, I understand, always.'

Lincoln then recalls that Sam is gonna make them lunch and he still has time to spare before lunch does begin and that there's no chores around the house to handle anymore and he has no clue when Sam's parents and Simon will come back.

Lincoln looks to his laptop, he turns it on and he puts on his headset. 'Maybe some gaming can calm me down, a bit.'

He clicks on the League of Legends Game and he logs in, he then waits for some friends to join in. Then he recalls something. 'The others are busy with their families for New Year's coming, so I can't expect Lance, Artie and Trent to be in this game.'

Then he sees 4 account names and are ready to play with him, he smiles at these account names: eltioRob95, ko777, avenger44 and Nene.

'Okay, game on.' Lincoln begins to play his game and thinks about what his mom is doing and if she's fine.

(The Loud House.)

The whole house is silent, Michelle Lewis went off to get some more things Luna might need as she goes through what she is facing, while Great Grandma Harriet goes around the house and cleans the place up, and also keeps track of when Luna is having mood swings.

Harriet told this to Merris and sent the same message to Lucy and to the others who are they're friends and even one to Albert.

Harriet is in the kitchen and she finishes making some warm tea, and another for Luna if she needs it. She then sighs. 'This was much different when the family was loud and large, but now that it's not, this is not gonna be an easy thing and I doubt this is the last time she has this issue.'

She then stops drinking her tea and thinks about something. 'I hope Lincoln is okay, he had nothing to do with this, and I hope Luna gets well soon. But this could be a while. God, the way he looked was so heartbreaking, like the time she got angry at him months ago before her birthday.'

Luna on the other hand is in her room and she strums her guitar.

She then continues to do so and goes through the lyric sheets with the song she plans to make for the upcoming spring music festival.

She then stops and she leans onto her beanbag chair. "This sucks."

She then sees her albums of songs and she goes over to pick one to listen to, but then she stops when she sees the comic books that her son made.

'Oh Linc, I'm sorry this had to happen. I want you here again kiddo, but I don't want you to see me like this and be scared. I might end up saying some things that could be hurtful and this is just too much to bear.'

She then reads the comic, Ace Savvy and the Night Club.

'I promise you this Linc, I will come and get you before the night of the New Year's begins, and then we can be back to the normal Family of Two as we are accustomed to now.'

She continues to read the comic and she sheds some tears as she does so.

(Skip, nighttime.)

Lincoln is sitting on his bed, and in his pajamas and checking on his phone. He sees no messages from his mom. He feels concerned, but he doesn't want his mom to be annoyed by him asking.

Lincoln then sees someone come in. "You doing okay Linc?"' It's Sam, in her white short sleeved shirt and purple pajama pants and fluffy skull slippers.

Lincoln gets up, goes over and hugs the teen and she hugs him back. "There, there Lincoln. I'm here, everything's fine now. Luna is not mad at you, she's not."

"I know Sam, I know. I just wish I could be there to help her, comfort her and see how she feels" replied Lincoln.

"I know bud, I know." Sam runs her fingers through his white hair and then she helps him back to the bed. She then tucks him in. "Feeling comfortable?"

Lincoln nods. "I am, thanks Sam." But then he sees the blonde teen get in the blanket with him. "Sam?"

Sam then lays next to the kid and she pulls him close to her for a hug. "I'm doing what Luna would do, to make sure you're calm and not having problems. You're kinda my kid too Linc."

Lincoln smiles and he hugs Sam as well and snuggles close to her. "Thanks Sam, goodnight….. Mom."

Sam smiles and she wipes away a joyful tear and hugs him tight. "Goodnight little Linc, Sammy loves you little buddy." The two of them soon fall asleep in this warm embrace, a loud kid and a sharp second mom figure.

And all while the snow storm begins outside.
