And now for the second day of Lincoln's stay with Sam Sharp and her home, and for Luna to not have her son by her side as she goes through this period. Thank you again to "ko777" for the idea and concept to all of this. Enjoy reading guys.

Family of Two.

Chapter 137: Another day without each other.

(December 28. Sharp Home.)

Lincoln comes down the stairs, dressed and ready for the day and he enters the dining room where he sees Sam has already made breakfast for them. "Good morning, Sam."

Sam sees the boy and she smiles. "Hi Linc, good morning to you as well. Now eat up, I made waffles and some orange juice."

Lincoln goes over and he eats next to Sam. "This is good, you're a good cook Sam."

Sam smirks. "Thanks Linc, I did learn from….. Well, you're mom and my mom, and I might not be a great cook, but a good cook is better than nothing and truth be told, Luna and I did have plans to learn from Mrs. Rosato on how to cook."

Lincoln finishes drinking his orange juice. "That does sound like a good idea, I hope you and mom do become better than good cooks." He then feels upset about something.

Sam knows what's going on. "Linc, don't be upset. I know it's still hard with the fact you're not with Luna right now. But think of this as another way for you both to handle being a few far blocks apart. Sooner or later, you'll be participating in overnight field trips and sleep overs and this is a good start."

Lincoln nods. "Yeah, that is true and I guess what you say make so much sense. Change has to be made again for me and mom, and we know we have to make it work for either of us and even though the changes might be complicated, we can pull through."

Sam smiles. "There we go, there's the brave kid I know and love. Now come on, let's eat up and then see if the house needs some work to be done."

Lincoln and Sam then continue to eat, then Lincoln asks. "So, when are your parents and Simon coming back home?"

"They sent me a message and said tomorrow and my uncle Peter is coming over to stay for a few days too and he brought with him some fireworks to help make the New Year's a bit more festive and awesome" replied Sam. "After some lessons of being with you and Luna, I have learned so much on how to be responsible, which is why they trust me to stay home and keep an eye on the place."

"That's nice of them to trust you to do so, and I know they'd trust you to keep Simon safe when they're not around as well" replied Lincoln.

"Darn right on that one Linc" said Sam. She then wipes away some orange juice from his mouth and she kisses his forehead. "Also, Jordan called earlier and said she's gonna come over to check on you."

Lincoln smiles hearing that good news. "It'll be nice to have some good company, thanks Sam."

They both continue to eat, and then get everything looking clean before their guest arrives.

(Later.)

Lincoln and Jordan are in the room he's staying in and both are playing some video games with his consoles and his laptop. They both end in a tie playing Need for Speed.

"Dang it. The fourth time we're tied and I thought we kept getting tied up finish lines when we go to Gus'!" said Jordan. "Are we that good at keeping up with each other in games like this?"

Lincoln chuckles. "No clue, but the only games we seem to not be tied into each other would be fighting games. Still this is fun to have good company, next to Sam and….. Mom." He looks down and still feels sad and Jordan knows why.

"Lincoln, take it easy. I know it's hard for you to not be with your mom close to you, but recall what Sam said. Take it one step at a time to learn to live a few days apart from each other" replied Jordan. "I mean, sooner or later one of your pals are gonna have a sleepover, let's just make sure it's not at Clyde's."

Lincoln nods. "Yeah, you're right. I mean, sooner or later school might have a one week overnight stay at someplace, and sleep overs are another thing I need to get used to again. Also, you are right on Clyde's home thing. It was fun back then to have sleepovers there, but now, not so much."

"The only thing I wanna know is, what the heck is wrong with mom?"

Jordan knows, she has heard about it from her mom and her dad too.

"Linc, I know what's wrong with Luna. But I don't think I should tell you, it would be wrong to tell you unless your mom is okay with you knowing what's going on with her."

"Or let me tell him." They both see Sam walk in, and she sits next to them and she pulls Lincoln close to her and kisses his forehead. "Linc, what I'm about to tell you is something girls go through and not easy to fully cope. Do you understand me?"

Lincoln nods. "Yeah, I understand. So, what the heck is going on with mom? This is something I saw with Leni and Lori long ago, but they calmed down after a few days."

Jordan and Sam kinda saw that one coming. "Okay Linc, now do you know where babies come from?"

Lincoln nods. "Yeah, Jordan and I had the same lesson during classes when summer vacation was over, and it was kind of a total mind blowing thing to know, even mom didn't see that coming too. But, I think there was something mom didn't tell me what I told her."

Sam sighs. "Then, time to tell you about a girl and they're… Period."

Lincoln is confused. "Period?"

Sam and Jordan then explain to him all about it, and it's something that makes Lincoln shocked and concerned about his mom, about what she has to go through. From pain to emotional issues.

(The Loud House.)

Luna comes down to the kitchen and she opens the fridge, she then grabs a carton of milk and she drinks from the box, she drinks the whole thing and then tosses the box into the trash bin.

She then sees Michelle Lewis Loud come out from the basement with a basket of dry clothes. "Oh, hi Luna. Feeling alright?"

Luna sighs. "Sorry, but a no go on that one dude. After the painful morning, and also last night, I don't feel like the good to tell that everything it alright kinda gal right now. But, I'm trying to keep my mind on hold." She then calms down her mind. "So, where the heck is Great Grandma Harriet?"

"She's outside clearing snow from the pathway and driveway" replied Michelle as she walks by. "After that snowstorm from last night, a lot of the roads in town have been blocked up by tons of snow, so there won't be much driving going on and thank goodness for me in not having work today."

Luna then thinks about Lincoln, her son. "I wanna go and see what Lincoln is up to and see how he's handling things. But I don't want him to be worried and end up hearing me say some things. Chances I might snap or lose my cool and I might say some things that are… Hurtful."

Michelle places the basket on the table and she goes over and hugs Luna. "Luna, it's okay. Everything is gonna be fine, I know it's hard but this is a first step to learning how to be apart from each other."

Luna hugs her back and begins to shed some tears, and Michelle does what she can to comfort her niece.

"Luna, I don't know if this is part of the period thing, or from you and how you feel. Just know that right now, Lincoln may feel the same issues as you do, but I know Sam is doing her best to be a mom to him as you are always for him. He'll be fine and like I said, this is a good first step to learning how to be a few blocks apart from each other."

"You and Lincoln managed to go apart when school starts up, but know that sooner or later, Lincoln will have sleepovers to go to and also overnight field trips. Lincoln will be fine on them, and if he does feel lonely and needs motherly company, he can always call you."

"Just be calm and be patient and wait for the right moment for when you wanna talk to him, or when you feel like going to pick him up and bring him home. He's a brave kid and he knows he can be strong even when you're not around, because you'll always be in his heart, always."

Luna and Michelle stay like this, and all the while Harriet watches them and smiles. 'Sharing her emotions and letting Michelle be there to support her is a nice change and step to this family, but I do worry for next month when the… Lewis family reunion comes up.'

She then goes back upstairs to put away the snow shovel. But then she realizes. 'What the heck am I doing? This thing goes to the garage!' She then walks out of the house, again.

Soon, Luna calms down and she departs from the hug with Michelle and she wipes away her own tears.

"Feeling better Lunes?" asked Michelle.

Luna nods. "Y-Yeah, I am and thanks. I needed that talk and comfort."

Michelle smiles. "You and Lincoln are my family, and I'll do whatever I can to help you both. No matter what happens and whatever it takes, I owe you both for making me part of your lives."

Luna nods. "Thanks, I'm gonna go back to my room and also take my pills. The pain is coming back up now."

"Oh, do you need some help?" asked Michelle.

"No, it's cool. I can do this one myself" said Luna as she walks by Michelle. "I don't wanna stray you away too much from what you're doing now, I can handle this. I need to also think about how I can talk to Linc right now. Thanks again for the comfort and words, Michelle."

Michelle then watches as Luna heads upstairs, she then grabs the basket of clothes and brings them to the living room to fold them.

'My mom and dad would be proud at what I did, this is the same kind of talk my mom would do when I had that issue. I just hope things won't turn bad to worse when we do go to that stupid reunion with my former… Family, god this is gonna be hard!'

"That part I know too."

Michelle is startled by Harriet who just came out of nowhere.

(Later.)

Luna is in her room and after dealing with her pain in the bathroom, she drinks the tea that is on her table, which was left there earlier by Great Grandma Harriet.

She then goes to her bean bag chair and she hugs one of her pillows and then looks to her phone. She sees the number from her son, Lincoln. 'Come on Lunes, come on. You can be brave and strong to talk to your own kid, like how I am strong and brave standing up to assholes who wanna take him away from me!'

Luna then puts her phone down. "Ugh! Why the heck is this so hard? Come on Lunes, woman up!" Then she hears her phone ring and she checks who it is and is surprised.

Lincoln: Hi mom. Are you doing okay?

This was something Luna did not see coming. 'Lincoln?' She then types back, and waits for the reply.

Luna: I'm fine kiddo, how are you doing over at Sam's place?

Lincoln: Doing quite well, Jordan's here and she helped keep me company. Sam is a good cook, kinda like you and her parents and Simon won't be home until tomorrow and I think they're bringing her uncle with them too. Things have been nice here, and she treats me like I'm her kid too.

Luna: That's good to know. Linc, I'm sorry I had to tell you to stay there. I don't hate you Lincoln.

Lincoln: I know mom and I understand, and I hope you don't get too upset when I tell you that Sam and Jordan told me about what's been happening,

That one makes her more surprised, but then she types back to Lincoln.

Luna: Not mad kiddo, but I am kinda surprised and I understand that they had to tell you, to keep you from getting all worried about me. How was the whole talk though?

Lincoln: Not what I expected and also a but disturbing to know about that issue you and other girls have, but I do hope you get well soon mom, I wanna come and keep you company and comfort you when you need it. But, I know it could be a complicated matter that might end up hurting the both of us.

Luna: I'm glad you understand Lincoln, and I miss you so, so much kiddo. But we have to accept change and the steps ahead of our lives, like how we need to learn to be apart from each other, but only for a short time.

Lincoln: Yeah, Sam said those words to me as well and I miss you a lot, mom. I hope we can see each other again soon, once you're period is over.

Luna: Same here kiddo, same here. Well, I should let you be right now, while I ride this wave of emotional issues.

Lincoln: Yeah, get well soon mom. We'll see each other again, and I love you.

Luna smiles seeing the text and she wipes away her tears and responds.

Luna: Mom loves you too Linc, and we will see each other again. XOXO.

Luna puts her phone down and she lies down onto her beanbag chair and sighs in relief. "Very soon kiddo, we'll be back together and things will be as they always have been, the two of us in this house and a family of two."

Then she recalls. "Oh right, and Michelle and Harriet in for the ride."

She then calms down and she sees the Ace Savvy comics that Lincoln made, and she reads them again. Just to always remember that her son is not so far away from her, and soon she'll go and bring him back home.

A/N: This chapter is not wrong, there will be future chapters where Lincoln might have a sleepover, like say at Liam's farm, and soon an overnight week stay from a school fieldtrip and some of you know what I mean by that. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
