Family of Two.
Chapter 139: Louds before the New Year.
Current date for all: December 30, we're close to the last day of the month.
(The Loud House.)
The home of Lincoln and Luna is feeling quite happy and festive, but not for Christmas because that one was already made and done. Right now, Lincoln, Luna and Michelle Lewis are bringing down all of the Christmas decorations from the house, and they get some help from Lucy and Maggie.
"Thanks for coming by to help us dudes" said Luna as she begins to fold up some of the branches of the Christmas tree. All the ornaments are back in the large box.
"This is really gonna speed things up for us and we can get it all done before the big night hits tomorrow" said Lincoln as he helps his mom bring the tree into the long box after the remove the branches.
"Glad I don't have to go back to work, until January 2" said Michelle as she places all of the tinsel into a box. "Because I need sleep if we're gonna be staying up late."
"This is the least we can do" said Lucy. "We already cleaned up our Christmas decorations, so we're gonna do this for you guys. Also, I forgot you had this ornament." Lucy has found the black dressed angel ornament.
"Oh yeah, that was in there and it kinda startled us" said Lincoln. "That angel reminds us of you, Luce."
Maggie smirks. "Lucy? An angel? Guys, Lucy is Goth and if she is an angel, then she would be an angel of death or misery, and sometimes our mom calls her an angel of blackness. But, I don't relate to calling my little sister some weir little nicknames."
"Sigh, it's just mom and dad being nice to me and seeing how far my Goth phase lasts" replied Lucy.
Luna smiles. "Glad to know you still care Luce, also you guys got something planned for the New Year's Eve?" She then lifts the box up and all of them get all the boxes with Christmas decorations and bring them upstairs.
"As much fun as it would be to spend time with you two, we must decline" replied Lucy. "We're gonna be celebrating the whole thing at our place and watching the spectacular fireworks go off, alongside Haiku and her family."
Even though it sounded kinda disappointing, Lincoln smiles. "It's okay Lucy. We know that you wanna spend time with your family for the big night, and maybe we can have it all together next year."
Lucy smiles. "I'd like that, and maybe then we can have it with Lori and Leni joining in too."
Luna smiles. "That sounds like an awesome idea little dudes."
They all finish putting all the boxes into the attic and they all come down and head to the kitchen where they see Great grandma Harriet is done in making some cookies for them. "Snack is served everyone get then while they're still warm."
They each grab a cookie and some milk and enjoy this snack. "So, what do you guys think is going on with the other family where they are?" asked Michelle.
"We can only guess they're doing their part for an awesome New Year's with the folks they all have come to know around them" said Lincoln, he then drinks his glass of milk.
"Linc's not wrong, I did get a text from the warden that Lori, who is helping setup the preparations for the inmates to go and have a party while still being watched over until the big fireworks display is done" replied Luna. "Then I got a message from where Leni is, that she's gonna be helping keep track of the other patients who don't like loud noises, but she was told there will be a party for the staff to celebrate the incoming New Year's fireworks event."
"But what about the others?" asked Lucy.
Luna sighs. "That one is a hard to say kinda thing. No word on the former rents and no word from Junior or even Luan, let's just hope they're faring well and preparing for the New Year too."
Lincoln also sighs. "But without us." Luna pulls her son close to her.
"Let's not get to that little dude, we can still enjoy the New Years' with the Sharps and Rosato's, it's all gonna be good Linc, I promise." Luna then kisses his cheek which makes him smile.
"Okay, thanks Luna" replied Lincoln. He then gets a message and he smiles. "Mom, guys. We might have another family joining us soon."
They see the message is from Tristen D. Pingrey: Hey guys, Carol and her parents said we can celebrate with you guys for this New Year's thing, we're bringing Lily along as well.
This does make them smile. Now Lincoln and Luna, along with Michelle and Harriet can celebrate the fireworks night alongside, the Sharps, the Rosato's and of course, Lily and her parents.
But deep down, Lincoln wonders. 'I wonder how Lisa is doing.'
(Helmandollar House.)
Lisa is in the backyard and she looks to the sky, there is no snow falling and surely no other reason for snowstorms to arrive and so she takes notes.
Then Darcy stand next to her. "Lisa, you doing okay?"
Lisa sighs. "No, no I am not. The fact is, that the New Year's is coming and I have not even made any plans on speaking with Lincoln and Luna and how much I would tell them on my behalf on the pain and misery I delivered to Lincoln during the summer. I am too afraid and guilt ridden to come up with something."
Darcy then goes over and hugs her sister. "Don't worry Lisa, I know you might not have gotten the chance to make up for what you did, but I know you can accomplish it when next month comes."
"She's not wrong Lis." Teri comes out and hugs both girls. "I know we have been patient with you, and we still will. Trying to figure out the words to speak to those you wronged is not hard, and that it takes time and we know we have all the time we need, and when you do find it, then it will work."
"Perhaps you just need to figure something out to improve what you need to say and also practice on the right things that would make sense on how you feel and see where you're inner emotions take you. You can't always let logic be the answer to the things that need to be solved, sometimes the best way is to be open to the feelings within you Lisa."
Lisa smiles hearing this. "It seems the dream that you wish to seek as a teacher is bearing its fruits."
Teri chuckles. "Lisa, I am an A-plus student in class and I know how others feel when it comes to emotions, and a teacher is one thing I do wanna take up one day. But, I wanna be there to make sure you do take the next step in trying to find redemption and talking to those you wanna talk to."
Lisa smiles and she hugs her. "Thank you Teri, and Darcy. I needed this and perhaps I will follow the advice and seek out how to confront Lincoln and Luna with how I feel after all that has happened."
"We know you can do it Lisa, and if you need some help, then we can be there for you" said Darcy.
Lisa sheds a tea from this. "Thank you, thank you for being my family." She continues to hug her older sister and her same aged sister in this moment of emotions.
(Medical treatment and rehabilitation facility, Bay City.)
Leni is just doing what she normally does, and that is to help keep track of each patient that has issues with bright ly colored lights in the sky and loud sounds.
She then passes by and greets some of the staff and she goes through her clipboard and then she sees a photo of Lincoln and Luna and she smiles.
'Soon, when summer is close. Then I'm coming back home, to Royal Woods. But now, I gotta help the folks here and see them return back to society, the same way I'm gonna do as well.'
Leni then goes into another room and she checks on a patient named Harper who has an issue with bright lights, fire, and really loud noises in the sky. Looks like Leni has her work cut out today.
(Royal Woods Juvenile Detention Hall.)
At the juvie, the snow is being cleared and with no signs of a snow storm, Lori along with the warden are helping instruct on where they should put the tables, chairs and the food. Which the warden has to double check if it will be good.
To Lori, this brings back memories on how she would manage the things around her house, with her family trying their best to make things look good. But, she tries not to think too hard, because there were many moments where she was a bit too bossy towards them.
Then her cellmate, Kendall "Big Juicy" Sullivan, goes towards her. "Dang Lori, I never thought you could be this much of an authoritarian to make this happen. The place looks nice."
"Thanks Kendall" replied Lori. "I had to make sure that the whole place is prepped and ready and I also needed to make sure that there would be no signs of any incoming snow storms too. Also, we got a good view in the courtyard to see the fireworks go off from the town far away at the park."
They both look to the other side of the fence and they see the town and smile. "Sure is a shame you didn't wanna spend it with Lincoln and Luna" replied Kendall.
Lori sighs. "I know." She then smiles. "But, I want them to be in the moment of being family, together. While I do my part and help make this juvie more to deal with of a living and a redemption place, than a place where ladies like us get hurt from our crimes and sins."
Kendall chuckles. "Lori, either you've become a good big sister to everyone, or you just became the next warden or therapist."
Lori smirks. "Kendall, I'm not any of those. This is Lori, doing a big change to herself and to those who need it, for the greater good of the future we all wanna see through."
They both walk back to the courtyard and see if the place needs to be improved, and of course Kendall does her part with the heavy lifting.
Lori then looks to the picture of Lincoln and Luna, and she smiles. 'Lincoln, Luna. I hope you guys have an awesome night for tomorrow and the same goes, for the rest who were all once Loud.'
(State Michigan Correctional Facility, Lansing City. Lansing.)
Right now, Lynn Sr is busy with making the food for everyone's lunch, and by his side is his cellmate Gerald Langston and he's learning how to be a good chef as well. "So, how are the onions…? Oh boy."
Lynn Sr, the guards and the cooks are all looking at Gerald who is crying his tears out. "It's…. Going s-so well! Oh why are Onions so hard like this to ch-chop?!"
Lynn Sr sighs. "Gerald, I told you to use the face mask." He and the cooks go over and helps him out. They manage to get the big guy away from the chopping board and Lynn Sr lets him handle stirring the soup for the lunch to everyone.
"Sorry about that Lynnard, the onions were too much for me, those things are strong" said Gerald.
"No need to worry Gerald, onions are not your thing I guess, but we can try other cooking techniques you can learn" said Lynn Sr.
Then Rita comes in with the large stroller of ingredients. "Okay, so the delivery truck showed up today and I'm here to help cook so the ladies at the other side can have some lunch too."
"Then grab an apron and let's make some lunch for everyone" said Lynn Sr.
Rita smiles and she goes over and help them with the lunch. Both Lynn Sr and Rita are glad they made up to each other, well Lynn is more happy that he doesn't have to see Rita walk away from him, now they can both be focused on trying to make things right when they both finish their time there.
They both have some big plans, like making the nice food for the inmates when New Year's Eve begins, but deep down they both have the same thoughts. 'I hope the others are doing fine right now.'
(Traverse City Juvenile Hall.)
The whole place doesn't need to have a big party for New Year's Eve, last year they had one and it nearly turned into a jail break from three inmates who got themselves killed. So, the warden ordered that they will all get some food at night for when they wanna see the fireworks from their cell windows.
They're not having another shootout and a jail break, again.
Right now, Lynn and Annabelle McCann are both outside and watching the others play basketball, both of them are nervous and don't look to each other.
Both are nervous after some recent events and ever since then they have been kinda cautious with each other.
Lynn was kissed by Annabelle, and both have been avoiding eye contact and even talking to each other, the rest of the inmates have noticed this and were hoping they'd talk, but they haven't talked since that night she made the move and kissed Lynn.
Annabelle and Lynn still don't look to each other, but they both still remain cellmates and follow each other, and at times they were seen holding hands which was literally awkward. Heck even the Warden sees this and is so confused. 'They kissed and now this is happening? Awkward.'
Both teens have some thoughts about what had happened but both are too nervous to look or even speak to each other after what had happened. But both of them have a plan.
Lynn: Okay, so when New Year's begins, then tell her how you feel and see if she did like you back or if it was a nervous knee jerking reaction, or something. Oh god. How long has it been since she kissed me?!
Annabelle: On New Year's Eye, talk to her and tell her how she feels and then ask if she feels the same way and also apologize for the unexpected kiss last time. Oh god to shit, why did I do that?! Wrong time Annabelle!
Both have a plan, and let's hope it works. (Oh, it will.)
(Crotus Penn Mental Hospital, Marquette.)
At the asylum, Dr. Himmler is going through his clipboard and looks to the girl in the room, who is none other than Luan. She isn't responding and she is doing well with the ten piece puzzle.
He then speaks to her. "Luan, you can stop now. This is the sixth time you've disassembled and reassembled the puzzle."
Luan sighs. "Okay doctor, can I go back to my room now?"
Dr. Himmler nods. "Yes, of course. Go on ahead." He watches as Luan walks out of the room and she doesn't need anyone to escort her. The man they goes through his reports.
'Luan seems to be showing signs of her insanity fading, her mental state seems to be no more and she hasn't said a single pun. She rarely says them and rarely laughs, whatever is going on in her room or whatever is in there with her, seems to be making her more and more stable. But she seems to be showing new signs of a new mental issue and that issue is depression.'
He then looks to his phone. "I shall tell this to Luna Loud soon, perhaps some talking with Lincoln and Luna will help her. To have a final test and see where it will go for her newly reconditioned state."
Back with Luan; she enters her room and she closes the door. She then sits on her bed and sighs.
Everything she made in her room is gone. All the drawings and ruined stuff of her family has been removed and who removed them? Luan did.
Luan then looks to the small photo of Lincoln and Luna, and she smiles. 'Linc, Lunes. I wanna say… i…' she then begins to sob. 'I'm sorry! I'm sorry I acted like that! I'm sorry!'
Something is in the room and strokes her hair to calm her down, she isn't startled by this. She feels comforted by the being that has been making sure her sanity was not lost, and that being is none other than the Nurse, Sally Smithson.
Throughout her stay here at the asylum, she has been scaring and scarring Luan with horrific images of a future where she would be the end of her family, and a nightmare to herself and to all. Something that strikes full fear to her sane side and was able to shatter her delusional prankster side.
It only lasted for nearly a month and the progress has been made and now Luan is feeling more like a depressed sad sap than a happy clown. But to the nurse, the treatment is working.
There is only one thing left to do. See what happens when Luan is confronted by Lincoln and Luna, and also Lucy.
(Somewhere outside of Huron.)
A car drives away from Huron and is making its way back to the state side of Saginaw. The vehicle is a yellow van and the trip is not too long, they have left Huron and are now in Tuscola which means Saginaw is a few hours away and then the drive to Royal Woods is next.
The one driving the car, is Agnes Johnson and she is not alone in her car. "Are you girls doing okay back there?"
Who's sitting in the back? The two girls she adopted, and are soon to be 7 on January 3. Lola and Lana!
The two girls smile. "We're doing fine… Mom." They both have to get used to that, calling the teacher they have heard and known about, as they're mother.
This was something they both have not seen coming, but they did meet her and heard why she wanted to adopt them last month, before Thanksgiving even began. They have been staying with Darrel and Emily at their home in Huron and now they're on their way to their new home, which was once they're old home, Royal Woods.
They do miss being with Darrel and Emily, but this is how it has to be now and they can try and see if they can get the chance to interact and possibly earn back the forgiveness they couldn't have gotten from Lincoln and Luna Loud.
But both of them have doubts.
Lola: I don't even know how my old friends will react seeing me, or how I can even handle the fact I was the one who made Linky get hurt so I can win, but I have to be strong and see this through, with my twin sister by my side.
Lana: I hope Lincoln and Luna won't be too mad, I was the other reason for Lincoln close to getting hurt from the alligator ranch wrestling, I feel horrible that he nearly got killed, but I swear I will show Lincoln how sorry I am and I'll have my twin sister by my side.
Look our Royal Woods, the twins are coming back home!
A/N: A lot is going on and a lot is gonna happen when the future comes for all of them, but for now let's look forward to the next chapter guys. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
Heads up everyone: The next chapter will not be posted, until the near end of December 31, you all know why and this kind of message is to the rest of my four main stories too!
Date made: 12/11/20.
