This time we have a new chapter of The Digital Hero.

Chapter 36.
A cold but brave heart.
Barbamon tower.
Barbamon lets out a yawn. – "How boring! Maybe I'll go out and have some fun. The resistance hasn't found me so I can have fun without consequences for a while."- Barbamon said, however I feel several presences coming towards him. – "Digimon are approaching."-
Suddenly, the wall is destroyed and from the hole the four chosen ones enter the room. – "Barbamon! Your moments of terrorizing the digital world are over!"- Shinso said in his Lobomon form.
- "The descendants of the legendary warriors."- Barbamon said. – "Lobomon, Kazemon, Paledramon and Bettlemon, just four of you... this will be very simple!"- Barbamon said as he prepared to fight. – "Dark Inferno!"- From his staff, Barbamon shoots a black flame.
The chosen four jump, in different directions each, and dodge Barbamon's attack. Shinso draws his swords and starts attacking Barbamon, who dodges the attacks quite easily.
When dodging the last attack, Melissa attacks Barbamon from above with a series of kicks which, unfortunately, are dodged by the enemy.
Shinso attacks Barbamon from behind but he dodges the attack, Melissa tries to attack him too, but the result is the same. – "Greedy Wand!"- Barbamon hits both of them with his staff sending them flying and hitting a wall, the attack wasn't that strong, so he didn't defeat them in one blow, Barbamon wants to have some fun first.
- "Punishment Shock"- Kaminari charges at Barbamon and tries to attack him with an electricity attack.
However, Barbamon moves quickly and manages to take the necessary distance so that the electricity does not reach him.
Suddenly, Todoroki stands behind Barbamon and tries to attack him by covering himself with ice and charging him. – "Meteor Hail!"- However, the same thing happens again, Barbamon manages to dodge the attack.
After the failed attack, Todoroki stands next to Kaminari and both prepare their attacks. – "Lightning Blitz! / Ice Age!"- Kaminari attacks with a powerful beam from his head horn while Todoroki attacks with an ice beam.
- "Dark Inferno!"- Barbamon counterattacks with his own attack of black flames expelled from his staff. After a short struggle of attacks, Barbamon manages to overcome both chosen ones and the attack hits both of them. – "That's the best you have?"-
- "No."- Shinso said, suddenly the four of them stand around Barbamon. – "This is just the warm up."- The four point against Barbamon. – "Howling Laser! / Hurricane Wave! / Ice Age! / Lightning Blitz!"- Each Chosen One attacks with their own attack against Barbamon, Shinso fires a light laser from his left arm weapon, Melissa fires tornadoes from her hands, Todoroki fires an Ice Beam, and Kaminari fires a powerful lightning beam from his head horn.
Barbamon receives the four attacks fully, however he manages to resist them. – "Pandemonium Lost!"- Using his dark energy, Barbamon unleashes an explosion which sends the chosen four flying.
Recovering mid-air, Shinso connects his two swords and charges at Barbamon. – "Two Victors!"- Turning the, now, double sword Shinso tries to cause different cuts to Barbamon, who uses his staff to block the attacks.
- "Thunder Fist!"- Kaminari joins the fight by attacking Barbamon with several electric punches, interspersing her attacks with Shinso's, however Barbamon is still capable of blocking all the attacks of both chosen ones.
But what he didn't realize is that Todoroki and Melissa appear behind. – "Flowery Gust! / Ice Smash!"- Managing to hit Barbamon in the back, Melissa with a kick and Todoroki with an ice punch, but it doesn't end here, taking advantage of the opportunity, Shinso and Kaminari also land their attacks, Shinso a cut with his sword and Kaminari an electric punch, successfully managing to push Barbamon back a couple of steps, however the evil Digimon doesn't seem to be hurt.
- "Not bad...for the power you have, that hasn't been bad at all."- Barbamon said to later point his staff at nowhere in specific. – "Let's keep having fun!"- From the staff, multiple dark beams shoot out in random directions, the chosen do their best to dodge the beams.
The chosen ones try to dodge the beams, however there were too many and all are hit by them. When the attack ended, the first one to get up was Shinso who took his swords and began to attack Barbamon. – "Lobo Kendo! Light Victor Alpha!"- Quickly attacking with his right sword, Barbamon blocks the attack with his staff. - "Light Victor Beta!"- Shinso attacks with his Left Sword, Barbamon blocks the attack again. – "Light Victor Upsilon!"- Finally he gives a vertical cut with his two swords, which is again blocked by Barbamon and his staff.
- "Greedy Wand!"- Barbamon counterattacks with an attack with his staff sending Shinso flying which crashes against the wall.
Melissa Kaminari and Todoroki recover from the attack and the three of them charge Barbamon. – "Rosy Thunderstorm! / Ice Smash! / Megaton Punch!"- Todoroki and Kaminari attack with a punch while Melissa attacks with an axe kick.
However Barbamon dodges the three attacks and attacks Kaminari and Todoroki with his staff, Melissa manages to dodge the attack. – "Tempest Twist!"- Melissa performs a handstand and unleashes a whirlwind kick. The attack hits Barbamon but he barely flinches from the attack.
Barbamon points his staff at Melissa. – "Dark Inferno!"- And shoots dark flames at Melissa which is thrown into the air and falls to the ground with several burns.
- "Come on, Chosen Ones! Don't let me down! I know they can still give more!"- Barbamon said.
In that, Shinso appears above Barbamon. – "Very well! Lobomon slide digivolve to… KendoGarurumon"- And he transforms into KendoGarurumon. – "Lupine Laser!"- Quickly shooting a beam of light from his mouth which Barbamon tries to block with his staff, however the attack is stronger and forces Barbamon to dodge the attack.
- "He got stronger..." - Barbamon thought at the moment in which Kaminari appears behind him without him noticing.
- "He's not the only one! Beetlemon slide digivolve to… MetalKabuterimon!"- Kaminari transforms into MetalKabuterimon and points his arm cannons at Barbamon. – "Ultimate Thunder!"- And fires a lot of energy from both of his arms.
The shots hit Barbamon's back which this time does feel a slight damage from the attack. – "D*mn you!"- Barbamon said aiming his staff against Kaminari. – "Dark Inferno!"- And shoots black flames at Kaminari.
However, Melissa stands between Barbamon and Kaminari's attack. – "Kazemon slide digivolve to… Zephyrmon!"- Transforming into Zephyrmon and with his wings he creates a tornado to destroy Barbamon's attack. – "Hurricane Gale!"- Melissa quickly fires several feathers, which are as sharp as arrows, at Barbamon who barely dodges the attack.
Barbamon moves a little away from his three attackers. – "That's more like it!"- Barbamon shouts with excitement while increasing his power. – "Come on!"- Quickly firing the same burst of dark beams at against the three in front of him.
The three dodge the beams as they spread out, each attacking from a different direction. – "Howling Star! / Gilgamesh Cutter! / Gigantic Impact!"- All three scream as they attack. Shinso uses his Claymore Wings to attack Barbamon, Melissa uses her claws and Kaminari tackles with her whole body.
Barbamon, with his staff, creates a barrier which receives the impacts of the three attackers, taking advantage of this Barbamon attacks. – "Pandemonium Lost!"- Using his dark energy, Barbamon unleashes an explosion which, unlike last time, the chosen ones manage to resist the explosion and continue with their attacks.
As the fight continues Todoroki, who is in his human form, is watching the battle. Todoroki hasn't intervened since everyone turned into their beast spirits as he feels he would only get in the way of the battle, which is now at another level, a level he hasn't reached. – "If only I could do something..."- Todoroki thinks as he clenches his fists helplessly. – "They all do what they can and try to give their best and here I am just observing since my maximum is not useful."- Todoroki touches the right side of his face, where his scar is.
(AN: Remember that, in this Fanfic, Todoroki has his scar on the right side of his face, it is also different from the canon one, this one is more similar to the scars that Dabi has.)
Touching his scar, the memory of how he got it returns to his mind.

Flashback.
A little Shoto is training due to the orders of his father. This day's training is all about Shoto creating ice non-stop, which has to be under attack from his father's fire constantly.
Little Shoto was already tired of creating the ice and his body couldn't take it anymore, due to being tired for a single second he stops creating ice, unfortunately this was fatal since his father's attack destroys all the ice created, sending little Shoto flying slightly.
Little Shoto is on his knees quite tired, in that, his father approaches him. – "Please... I can't go on anymore..."- Little Shoto said.
However his father doesn't seem to stop and points his hand at him. - "Pathetic…"- It was the last thing his father said before unleashing a large amount of fire on his son, despite the fact that the attack lasted less than a second, that was enough to burn little Shoto.
Little Shoto released a cry of pain, that cry was so strong that his mother, who was watching the training, intervened with her own ice to help her son.
The next thing little Shoto remembers is waking up in the hospital with the right side of his face bandaged while his mother yelled at his father.

Todoroki opens his eyes at that memory, he thought he had already passed that point in his life... but apparently not. – "Why… Why can't I get over it?"- Todoroki was mentally breaking down, but another memory comes back to his mind.

Flashback.
Shoto returns home after everything that happened in Hosu. Upon entering his house he is greeted by a hug from his mother and his brother and sister looking at him with concern.
- Shoto! Are you okay? We saw the news!"- Rei said to her son.
Not knowing what to say, Shoto decides to play it safe. - "Yes... I'm fine, don't worry. I'm not going to lie, I was a little scared, but I'll be fine."-
- "Shoto… You don't have to keep what you feel, you have us to talk."- Rei said as Natsuo and Fuyumi smiled at him.
This small gesture made Shoto smile slightly. – "Yes, I know. I know I can trust you, but like I said, I'm fine and I appreciate your concern. It's just... I feel like I could have done more to help, the hero killer got away."-
- "Please Shoto! You defeated the Hero Killer! That in itself is great, it is not something that professionals can brag about."- Natsuo said.
- "And what if he ran away? Next time you will defeat him again and this time you will catch him!"- Fuyumi said.
- "I don't know... I don't know if I have the power to beat him next time."- Shoto said.
- "Shoto… you have the power to beat whoever you propose..."-
Flashback end.

- "You just have to believe in yourself." - His mother's words ring in Todoroki's mind. – "Believe in myself..."- Todoroki thought before changing his expression to one of determination, quickly extending his right arm. – "I won't be left behind!"- Several data wheels begin to surround Todoroki's right hand. – "Execute!"- Your D-Scan makes contact with the data. – "Beast Spirit Evolution!"- Data surrounds Todoroki.

Inside the data.
Ice and blizzards began to surround Todoroki as he let out a roar.
Two screens begin to surround Todoroki, one in front and one behind, in both screens you can see several pieces of ice in the form of claws and wings, but unlike Paledramon's, this one looks more big and savage.
Once the screens make contact with Todoroki, he lets out one last roar.
Seconds later the transformation is complete.

The data disappears and instead of Todoroki there is... - "CrysPaledramon"- CrysPaledramon is a white humanoid dragon Digimon that has ice covering most of its body such as its limbs, and head which resembles a crown. Behind its crown, is spiky white hair that stretches around its neck. It wears armor throughout its body in blue and light blue with an exposed white abdomen. The wings of this Digimon are two metal extensions holding two large icicles that are shaped like rockets.
Barbamon again blocks another attack from his opponents, but without realizing it, Todoroki appears behind him. – "Do not forget about me!"- Todoroki says as he attacks Barbamon from behind. – "Frozen Claw!"- Attacking Barbamon with his ice claws.
The attack is strong enough, plus Barbamon was distracted, to send Barbamon flying and crashing into a wall. – "Todoroki?!"- The others said in surprise.
- "Yes, it's me. I finally managed to unlock my beast spirit."- Todoroki said.
- "Cool."- Kaminari said.
- "We have to concentrate! This isn't over yet!"- Shinso said when Barbamon recovered.
- "I didn't expect that... but still you won't be able to defeat me!" – A mad Barbamon said. – "Dark Inferno!"- Quickly shooting a black flame against the chosen ones, but this time the flame is bigger than the previous ones.
- "Leave it to me!"- Todoroki said. – "Ice Cannon!"- Todoroki quickly fires back at Barbamon's attack with a large blizzard of ice from his mouth, both attacks collide and nullify each other. – "This doesn't end here! Callous Dimension!"- Todoroki generates a snowsquall which causes everything around it to be frozen in ice, Barbamon miraculously manages to avoid freezing, however, the fog does not allow him to see well.
- "We have to seize the opportunity! Let's go!"- Shinso said and in that the four surround Barbamon.
- "Ice Cannon!"- Todoroki attacks with another blizzard.
"Hurricane Gale!"- Melissa fires her feather arrows.
"Electron Cannon!"- Kaminari fires an extremely high-speed positron laser from the gun turret on his head.
"Lupine Laser!"- Shinso shoots a beam of light from his mouth.
The four attacks hit against Barbamon who this time is damaged enough by the attacks, the attacks combined raised quite a bit of wind which cleared away the mist in addition of braking the cealing.
When the mist cleared, Barbamon can be seen somewhat injured, but very furious. – "Enough! I'm so done! This time I won't hold back!"- Barbamon's wounds begin to heal as his power increases. – "Crest of Greed! Give me your power!"- Barbamon yelled as he pointed his staff at the sky, now visible due to the destruction of the tower's roof.
After the scream, a purple symbol appears in the sky, the symbol of the crest of greed.
- "Oh no!"- Kaminari said.
- "He summoned the power of his crest."- Todoroki said.
- "I hope that Veemon has already been able to recover his power... I don't think we can resist any longer if this continues."- Shinso said.
- "We have to trust him!"- Melissa said.
- "I don't know what you're talking about, chosen ones! And I don't care either! This is your end!"- Barbamon disappears and reappears in the middle of the chosen ones and hits each of them at a speed in which neither could react to cover. – "I'm tired of you."- Barbamon said before pointing at Melissa with his staff. – "You will be the first one to die!"- Barbamon said before shooting the black flames which hit Melissa who could not dodge the attack.
- "Melissa!"- The other chosen cried out.
- "Hahaha!"- Barbamon laughed with satisfaction, however a voice ruined his emotion.
- "Hey! That's no way to treat a lady!"- A voice said, Barbamon seemed to recognize the voice, once the smoke cleared, in front of Melissa there was a Digimon.
That Digimon is a bipedal creature with blue skin that looks like a grown version of Veemon with three fingers on each hand. It wears armor on its face, chest, waist, arms, and feet, all of which are colored gold. On its loin-guard is the Crest of Miracles.
Melissa widens her eyes in surprise as she sees her. - "Veemon…"-
- "No... I'm not Veemon anymore beautiful lady. I am Magnamon now!"- The now identified Magnamon said.
- "You! What are you doing here?! How did you get your powers back?!"- An incredulous Barbamon said, in that he realizes the situation. – "You four... you were distracting me..."-
- "And you fell into the trap!"- Kaminari said.
- "D*mn you!"- Barbamon curses, but Magnamon suddenly appears in front of him.
- "No curses! Magna Punch!"- Magnamon said as he punched Barbamon in the stomach.
Barbamon flies out and in the air he recovers. – "Die! Dark Inferno!"- Barbamon shoots black flames at Magnamon.
- "Aura Barrier!"- Magnamon says before receiving the attack. Once the smoke disappears Magnamon is in the same place without having suffered any type of damage.
- "What?!"- Barbamon said.
Magnamon appears in front of Barbamon again. - "Did you forget that I am the Royal Knight with the highest defense of all!? Magna Kick"- Magnamon says to then kick Barbamon and knock him down so that he falls to the ground with a crash.
Barbamon takes flight again and fires a blast of dark beams at Magnamon. - "Die!"-
- "Magna Shot!"- Magnamon counterattacks with his own attack which is a sphere of golden plasma which destroys Barbamon's attack and hits him making him fall to the ground again.
- "Screw you! Dark…"- Barbamon tried to attack Magnamon again, but his staff was frozen before he could attack, courtesy of Todoroki. – "Don't get involved!"- Barbamon charges Todoroki but is stopped by the joint attack of Melissa, Shinso and Kaminari who attacked him at the same time managing to knock him down.
Magnamon reappears next to Barbamon. - "Cover up!"- Magnamon warned, and the chosen ones move away to take cover. – "Magna Blaster!"- Magnamon emits the utmost power of the Digi-Egg of Miracles in the form of an energy wave from its entire body.
The attack hits Barbamon who can't do anything to defend himself. - "Damn it... It can't end like this..."- Those were Barbamon's last words before exploding into data.
Once the attack is over, the Chosen come out of their cover and approach Magnamon, reverting to their human forms in the process.
- "It's over... right?"- Kaminari said.
- "Yes, it's over."- Shinso said.
- "Thank you very much for the help."- Magnamon said.
- "We only do what we must do as chosen by the legendary warriors."- Melissa said.
- "And that is why you were chosen."- Magnamon said. – "It will be better if you return to your world, let me accompany you."-

Server Continent Station.
The Chosen Ones plus Magnamon arrive at the station where Trailmon is waiting patiently. – "I see that you are back, and on top of that another of the missing royal knights is with you."- Trailmon said. – "At this rate if you come again maybe Gallantmon will come back too."-
- "Maybe Trailmon, maybe... but it will be with Midoriya of course."- Shinso said.
- "I guess it's the goodbye then…"- Magnamon said. – "Again thank you very much."
- "You don't have to thank us." - Shinso said.
- "Magnamon…"- A voice said scaring everyone. Turning to see who it was, they can see Omegamon surprised to see his friend alive. – "You are alive…"-
- "Omegamon!"- Magnamon said approaching his friend. – "The same can be said for you."- Both Digimon fist bump or rather fist with cannon. – "Good to see you, my friend."-
- "Likewise."- Omegamon says and then turns to see the four chosen ones. – "I guess you guys have something to do with this... thank you very much for saving my friend." - Omegamon says, however he also notices the missing person. - "Where is Izuku Midoriya?" -
- "Izuku isn't feeling well right now, that's why he couldn't come to help."- Melissa said.
– "I see... I hope he recovers soon." – Omegamon said. – "Apparently you haven't needed my assistance, I trust that everything is fine."-
- "Yes, at the moment everything is fine."- Todoroki said.
- "What are you talking about?"- Magnamon asked.
- "I gave Izuku Midoriya, the missing chosen one, a Digivice so that they can call me if they need my help, it's a way to thank them for helping me."- Omegamon said.
- "Oh, that's a great idea!"- Magnamon said as he approached Melissa. – "Here you have beautiful lady, in case you need my help." - Magnamon said as he handed Melissa a device.
The device is oval with a screen and several buttons in addition to having an antenna on the left side of the device, additionally its handle on both sides is blue.
- "It's a Digivice... although different."- Melissa said.
- "It's not just any Digivice! It's a D-3, it's a Digivice upgraded to withstand the powers of the Digimental."- Magnamon explained. – "Use it in case you need my assistance in your fight."-
- "Thank you Magnamon!"- Melissa said.
- "All right, it's time to go."- Shinso said.
After saying goodbye to the Digimon, the chosen ones go up to Trailmon and return to their world.
Magnamon and Omegamon stare at where the chosen ones went. - "We have to find Gallantmon."- Magnamon said.
- "We will, don't worry, we will find our friend."- Omegamon said for later both digimon take flight in search of their missing friend.

So yeah. Here we are.
Another chapter finished.
Todoroki unlocks his beast spirit, now all the chosen ones have their beast spirits unlocked.
Now, you will notice that I also changed Blizzarmon/Korikakumon to CrysPaledramon. Not only that, you will remember that quite a few chapters ago I mentioned that Blizzarmon/Korikakumon was going to be the ice beast spirit, but in the end, I decided to change it at the last second.
The reason for the change... there is no reason as such, it just seemed better to me to put CrysPaledramon as the ice beast spirit.
Besides that it is more "logical" that it is CrysPaledramon. I put it in quotes since in Digimon there is more than one evolutionary line, in addition to the fact that some are not too "logical" to put it in some way, so it does not hurt much to change it... right?
Barbamon is defeated, two of seven demon lords are gone... who will be next?
Magnamon shows up and hands Melissa a D-3 so they can call him if his help is needed.
What did you think of the fight? As you know I'm not good with fightning scenes, but I do the best I can, that's the reason why I'm late in uploading this chapter.
We're also done with the flashback arcs, now if we pick up where we left off four chapters ago.
Finally... I still haven't decided who Todoroki's couple will be, so you can keep suggesting me. The only exception is Momo since, as I mentioned, I don't want to do the typical Ships that everyone does. (Important: That doesn't mean that I don't like TodoMomo's or any typical Ship, in fact there are some that I like, I just don't want to do the Ships that everyone does.)
You still have time to suggest the Ship for Todoroki, but you will only have this and the next chapter to suggest.
