Daisy collapsed to the ground, completely spent.

She barely noticed Mack rushing over to hold her up, or that he was saying something to her that she certainly wasn't hearing at the moment, or that her body had leaned into him on its own — the only thing that mattered was that Fitz had successfully rescued Jemma from Maveth, and brought their English biochemist back to them. She wanted to hug them both tightly to her and never let go, but they were down at the bottom of a ten foot deep well, and she couldn't move at the moment even if her life depended on it, she was so exhausted from keeping the portal open for Fitz, and from pure relief that he'd succeeded.

But after several minutes, she had finally started to recover enough to notice noises around her (and the fact that Mack had left her at some point), and looked up to see Jemma struggling up over the edge of the well, Coulson and Mack each pulling her up by an arm, and Fitz doubtlessly pushing her up from down in the well. As soon as Simmons was safely up on the stone floor of the castle, Mack and Coulson let her go to turn and help Fitz climb out as well, leaving Simmons and Daisy staring at each other.

They both gave the other an exhausted smile, before Simmons began slowly crawling the few meters across the stone floor to Daisy. Daisy was still too exhausted to try to tell Jemma that she really shouldn't be trying to move so much, that she would have told any of them to stay put had they just been rescued from a foreign planet, but honestly Daisy didn't want to be able to tell Jemma that, as she wanted the older girl to crawl over to her since she was still too tired to crawl over to her.

Eventually Simmons made it, pulling herself up into a sitting position next to Daisy, leaning heavily into her side. Daisy wrapped her arm around Jemma's shoulder, and they both just sat there for a minute, Simmons recovering from her crawl, and Daisy just trying to keep both of them upright, not really recovered herself from holding open the portal. But after a while, Simmons tilted her head up towards Daisy, and Daisy looked down at her, and slowly their lips met in a soft, tired, relieved kiss.

But they had only been kissing for what felt like a few seconds when they suddenly heard Mack's voice exclaim in shock, "Simmons!? Tremors!?"

They broke the kiss and looked over. Mack was staring at them in shock, as was Bobbi, though slightly less so. Coulson merely had a look of resignation on his face, while the Asgardian was hardly paying attention to them at all. Fitz, however, was smiling at them tiredly from where he'd just made it out of the well, and they returned his smile with tired ones of their own.

"Does someone want to explain to me what's going on?"

FitzSkimmons all continued just looking at each other, tiredly and silently debating who was going to have to answer Mack's question, until Fitz finally sighed, "Mack, Director Coulson, Bobbie — meet my girlfriends Doctor Jemma Anne Simmons and Captain Daisy 'Skye' Johnson, formerly known as just Skye. We were secretly dating for about a month before Jemma was taken away by the monolith, and Daisy and I have still been dating in secret the last six months — I was just away so often looking for clues on how to bring Jemma back, that we actually managed to successfully keep it a secret. But Jemma and Daisy apparently decided we'd waited long enough to tell everyone."

"Actually, I was just too exhausted and happy to see Skye — I mean Daisy — again, that I wasn't paying any attention to whether anyone was looking," said Simmons shyly. "It wasn't actually an intentional move, or even a conscious one."

"But we aren't ashamed of our relationship, or anyone knowing about," Daisy added quickly. "We just knew it was different, and wanted some time on our own to make sure it was for real before we had to start dealing with anyone else. And FitzSimmons came up through a Shield that had Section 17, so even though we didn't figure Coulson would still have that rule, at least not for us, we still weren't in any hurry to let our absolutely wonderful boss AC know about our new relationship."

"You don't have to flatter me, I'm not going to break you up or anything," said Coulson. "And you really weren't as sneaky about it as you thought — I didn't know you'd already started dating, but before she was stolen away by the monolith, I had been waiting for the day when Simmons drug you both to my office to tell me that there was nothing I could do about it, that you were now a couple. Or, I guess, 'couple' is probably the wrong word, but you know what I mean. So all I have to say is, don't let it affect your work, and we'll be fine."

"Thank you, AC," said Daisy sincerely, as Fitz and Simmons nodded their agreement.

"We do love our Director," added Simmons, before looking over at Fitz and saying, "Now if my boyfriend will get over here and kiss me, I haven't seen him in sixth months since a stupid rock inconsiderately took me away from him on date night."
