While Olivia and her girls were dealing with some complicated issues, Ayame's mother happened to come in and drag things in a different direction! Now, our girls have wound up participating in a slumber party! What other "fun activities" might they encounter?
KedharS: That sounds interesting, but Olivia isn't even aware of having a crush in the first place, if she even does. Which she doesn't. AT ALL!
Omesta: Thank you.
Just a Bad Writer for Fun: Oh, I think it's going to be fun.
Hellraiserphoenix: The sleepover's going to be a lot of fun. And you think Donoma's going to let this slip under her radar? Not a chance in hell.
Pokemon Academy: Beginning of Beginnings
Chapter 880
"So, who else should we get in here?" Hiromi asked, her eyes shining with excitement. Luckily, Olivia had been able to deflect from the question about crushes, but that hadn't done anything to deter their chaperone's mood in the slightest.
"Celia and Jessie want some time together," Olivia said. "They're family, after all, so they're catching up. Plus, Marion's sharing the room with them, and she's not one for stuff like this."
In fact, Olivia had no idea whether or not Marion was the kind of girl who would like having a girl's sleepover. She seemed like she wouldn't be interested, but honestly, Olivia didn't really care, because SHE didn't want to attend the same sleepover with Marion.
Marion was a pain in the ass.
"Oh, what about Giselle?" Ayame asked, her face lighting up. "She never gets a chance to go to stuff like this, she might like it!"
"Oh, yeah, good idea!" Lila agreed, nodding. "I'd love to invite Giselle!"
Olivia wasn't the biggest fan of that, either.
"…But," she interjected, "you forget that Giselle's sharing a room with Donoma at the moment. So if you invite Giselle, you're going to have to invite Donoma, too, unless she decides to just invite herself over instead."
Lila's and Ayame's faces went pale. Suddenly, it didn't seem like that great of an idea. They both might have liked Giselle, but Donoma…
"Y-Yeah, maybe we shouldn't then," Ayame said, glancing down at the floor. She felt ashamed to say something like that, but she really didn't have the energy to deal with Donoma at the moment, so she couldn't help it.
But Hiromi was having none of it.
"Ayame Toujou! What's the big idea?!" She huffed, putting her hands on her hips and standing up to her full imposing height of about five foot nothing. "Are you saying that you're not going to invite one of your friends to a sleepover because you don't like the company she'd bring with her?" Hiromi demanded.
"M-Mom, that's not it!" Ayame sputtered, her face flushing scarlet. Hiromi wasn't that far off, but she didn't know the full story either!
"I don't remember raising you to be someone like that!" Hiromi continued, not interested in whatever excuses Ayame had to offer. "Remember how you felt back in school when all those girls ignored you and didn't include you? Remember how much you cried?"
"MOM!" Ayame exclaimed, turning as red as a Cherubi.
"Well I won't have it!" Hiromi insisted, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "You're no bully! In fact, I'm going to go right over to Giselle and Donoma's room and tell them you girls would be happy to spend the night having a sleepover with them!"
"H-Hey, wait a second…" Olivia said, not at all enthused about that idea either. "Aya didn't mean anything, she just-"
"Oh, save it! You're not out of hot water for earlier today yet, either!" Hiromi huffed, still in a foul mood because of Olivia sneaking away from the group. "You're lucky I'm even letting you have this sleepover in the first place!"
Leaving the girls behind to process that, Hiromi turned and stomped out of the room.
"…But I don't want a sleepover!" Olivia called after her when she finally regained the composure to speak. This was all going in a direction that she wasn't excited about in the slightest. But Hiromi was already gone.
Resigned, Olivia sighed and flopped back down onto the bed. "Aya, was your mom always this nuts?" She asked.
Ayame shared in Olivia's sigh. "Unfortunately yes. Back when I used to get bullied in school, she got really sensitive about the idea of people bullying others, picking on them, not including them, all that stuff. So it makes sense that she's not a big fan of the idea of purposefully not inviting Donoma to have a sleepover with us."
"But Donoma is the worst!" Lila wailed. "She's as bad as Dakota! Did you know she wanted to rope me into a reality show depicting my fall from grace, showing the inner life of an idol as she slowly slips out of the spotlight?! I haven't even GOTTEN to the spotlight yet, how mean is that?!"
Darla, on the other hand, was intrigued by something else. She turned to Ayame, curious. "Ayame, what did you mean by the fact that you were getting bullied?" She asked, curious. She'd never heard anything like that.
"Oh, hey, that's right!" Lila gasped, sitting up. "You were getting bullied? Why have I never heard of this before?!"
Olivia glowered at the two of them. "Maybe because it's something very private, and not a topic for gossip," she snapped. "Just drop it, you two."
"Right, gotcha, dropped," Lila said, leaning back and holding her hands up in surrender. "Still, I can't imagine it. Ayame's the greatest, why would anyone pick on her?"
"Because people are jerks, that's why." That was all Olivia had to say on the matter. And the way she glared at Darla and Lila made it clear that was all anyone would have to say on the matter for the rest of the night.
"W-Well, we should probably get going," Lila said, hastily getting up off the bed and pulling Darla along with her. "We need to get prepared for tomorrow, long day and everything! The beach is definitely gonna be a blast!"
Her attempt to escape before Donoma showed up was clumsy at best, and Olivia wasn't having it. Ayame wasn't either, grabbing Lila and pulling her back down onto the bed. She stared at the two girls with a scowl filled with sadness.
"Are you guys really going to leave us alone?" She asked, looking rather sad and pathetic. "I don't want to be with Donoma by myself…"
Lila sighed and hung her head in resignation. She didn't want to be with Donoma either, but she also wasn't cold enough to abandon Ayame when she was asking her to stay.
"Fine, I'll stay for a little bit," Lila sighed, walking over and sitting down next to the nightstand, taking another whiff of her scented candle. The salty-sweet aroma was soothing, and helped her relax. "At least until I've gotten my fill out of this candle."
Ayame glanced over at Olivia and gave her a subtle nod. Olivia nodded back. Excellently done, Ayame had managed to rope the idol duo into staying with them.
And with no time to spare, either, as just when Lila took another sniff of the scented candle, the door swung open and Hiromi strolled in with a big smile on her face, bringing Giselle and Donoma in behind her.
Giselle looked a little nervous, but she was a lot more eager than she was nervous. For her pajamas she wore a black silk qipao-style night dress, conservative but very pretty. She glanced at Ayame and played with her hair, smiling a little bit.
In contrast to Giselle's more reserved look, Donoma looked like she'd strolled right out of a penthouse magazine. Her nightie was a lavender babydoll over lacy lingerie, and she looked prepared to jump into somebody's bed right then and there. This was punctuated by the wild look in her eye, as if Hiromi had promised "orgy" instead of "girl's slumber party".
"Wow! Look at that!" Donoma said, holding her fingers up into the shape of a camera as she stared at Ayame. "Gotta love those duds, Ayame! Looking at the life of the sports girl behind the scenes, does your boyfriend get a good look at you when you're like that? Gotta say, I'm feeling really jealous of him right now!"
"Donoma," Hiromi warned. "Remember, we want to be on our best behavior tonight. I'm giving you girls a special treat by letting you stay up a little past curfew, don't make me regret it. We don't want to get into any fights or upset anybody."
"Don't worry Mrs. Toujou," Donoma said, giving her a smile as slick as an oil spill. "I promise I won't get into any fights."
Olivia noted, as did everyone else, that she made no promise not to upset anybody. Well, that was just the way of things, wasn't it?
"So what are we going to do?" Giselle asked eagerly. "I've never, um… I haven't really done a… slumber party before," she admitted.
"Aww, aren't you the most adorable thing ever?" Olivia snickered, patting the bed next to her. "Come here and sit next to me Giselle!"
Giselle wanted to sit next to Ayame, since Ayame was the person she was closest to. But seeing as Ayame's bed was already occupied by Lila and Darla, it was starting to look a little crowded. So she went over to sit next to Olivia instead.
Everyone was happy when, instead of getting on one of the beds, Donoma draped herself over the couch instead, posing like a magazine model. Hiromi just pulled up a chair.
"I'm also not that clear on what girls are supposed to do at slumber parties," Ayame admitted sheepishly, her face hot. "I haven't… well, I haven't done stuff like this very often, either, you know," she said, staring reassuringly at Giselle to let her know that she wasn't the only one.
Nobody was surprised. While Ayame being bullied may have come as a shock to Darla and Lila, it was obvious that she wasn't one for sleepovers. For as long as most of the girls here had known her, Ayame had been solely dedicated to running. It was only very recently, due to the love of one precious boy, that she had started to come out of her shell and become a more social person.
"Well one thing that a lot of girls do at slumber parties like these," Donoma began with a wicked smirk, "is we could-"
She didn't get a chance to finished because Olivia saw the gleam in her eye.
"I don't think so," Olivia shut her down automatically. "I don't know what you're planning, but it's nothing good."
"Hey, that's not fair!" Donoma protested, making a face. "You didn't even get a chance to hear my idea, don't just shoot it down!"
"It's nothing good," Olivia said again. She knew the kind of girl she was dealing with here, and wasn't about to stand for any raunchy suggestions.
"Olivia…" Hiromi warned. She could tell there was some tension in the room due to Donoma, but she wasn't about to let anyone feel unwelcome. Donoma had just as much of a right to have a field trip slumber party as everyone else!
Olivia sighed, and Donoma held her head high with triumph.
"Fine, Donoma, what were you thinking?" Olivia asked, trying her best to smile through her gritted teeth.
"Weeeeeeell," Donoma said, stroking her chin thoughtfully, "I was thinking that we could do an old classic! You know, a lot of girls play truth or dare!"
"Oh! I love truth or dare!" Hiromi cheered.
There was a silence that fell over the room. Not one person here was at all interested in playing truth or dare with Donoma Marima. It was almost as risky as playing truth or dare with Sylvia Driscoll; no one wanted to hear any truths she had to say, and no one wanted to answer any questions she asked them, either.
And definitely no one wanted to accept any dares that escaped her lips.
So in summary, nobody wanted to play truth or dare with her.
"I, uh… I had a bit of a bad experience with truth or dare," Ayame admitted, remembering Cynthia's birthday party. "So if it's okay, can we, um… do something else?" It had actually been quite nice, but it was the most polite way she had to let Donoma know that she wasn't interested. If her mom wasn't here she would have told the girl where she could stick it, but right now she had to be on her best behavior.
"Yeah, let's think of something everybody can play," Lila agreed. "See, idols like Darla and I, we can't get caught doing crazy dares or anything, think about our reputations."
"Yeah, and same goes for me," Olivia agreed. Nice thinking, Lila! That was a very convenient way to get out of playing truth or dare with someone like Donoma.
But Donoma wasn't daunted. "Well if not truth or dare, then what about two truths and a lie?" She suggested instead. "Nothing wrong about that!"
Olivia considered that suggestion. While it had the potential for embarrassment, it was a lot more controlled than truth or dare, since the person revealing facts about themselves would be the one making the decisions.
She looked at the others. "Well… I think that could work. What do you guys think, want to try playing two truths and a lie, then?"
"I think it's a great idea!" Hiromi agreed. "In fact, I want to be the one going first!"
While Hiromi was onboard with the idea from the start, the other girls were still considering it. And while none of them really wanted to do it, it was clear that this sleepover was going to happen. So the sooner they got it over with, the sooner they could all go back to their rooms and sleep. It was the best of a bad situation.
"Sure, I'm cool with it," Lila agreed. "Who knows? It might even be fun!" She took another whiff of her scented candle to relax.
"…Whatever," Darla muttered. She wasn't exactly the biggest fan of a game like this, because she had a lot of very serious secrets. But Lila seemed excited about it, so as her friend and partner, Darla could at least play along.
Ayame and Giselle were both kind of nervous, but they agreed it was better than the alternative, and so they agreed to play.
"Great!" Hiromi cheered, glad that everyone was on the page. "Okay, so for the rules-"
"I was thinking that every time someone gets their truth sussed out," Donoma interrupted, "they have to take off a piece of clothing. What do you guys think?"
Her eyes raked across Olivia's curvaceous figure lasciviously. Olivia shivered. While she would normally be flattered by such a hot girl checking her out, Donoma was a big "no" for a lot of reasons, even if she was easy on the eyes.
"Uh, how about no?" Lila asked, not at all okay with that.
"I agree, that's a little much," Hiromi laughed awkwardly. "This is just a friendly game after all, no need to make a big deal out of it."
Thankfully Donoma knew when to back off.
"Okay, tell you what then," she said, changing her approach, "how about we just do the normal, boring way then? Starting with Hiromi, each person reveals three facts about themselves to the person sitting to… their left," she said after quickly scanning the room to see who was sitting next to whom. "And the person guessing has to determine which of those facts is a lie, and which two are true. And if they guess the lie, then you have to admit it! But if they don't, you don't have to say anything."
A few girls sighed with relief, Darla included. Donoma did have a concept of mercy, it seemed.
"Every time someone guesses what your 'lie' is, then you get a point," Donoma explained. "Whoever has the least amount of points by the end of the game is the winner!"
"How do we know when the game ends?" Lila asked automatically. It was a question shared by a lot of the people there. The sooner the game ended, the sooner they could be done with the whole slumber party."
Hiromi checked the clock. "Well, it's 8:30 now. So how about we play until midnight, and then that's the end of the slumber party? We don't want everyone being irresponsible, after all, I'm still your chaperone."
Olivia thought that it was already pretty irresponsible to let them stay up until midnight anyway, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she asked "well, what do we win if we have the least amount of points then?"
Donoma smirked, batting her eyelashes at Olivia flirtatiously. "Well, what do you want to win?" She asked.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "Forget I asked…"
"Oh, I know!" Hiromi said, clapping her hands together. "How about the girl with the least amount of points gets to pick where we eat breakfast tomorrow? What do you think?"
Giselle thought that was pretty unfair for the people who weren't here, but she was just happy to be included so she didn't say anything.
Everyone nodded, that sounded like a fair enough prize to them.
"Okay, great, it's decided!" Donoma smirked. "Now, are we ready to play? Hiromi, you said you wanted to go first, right?"
"Absolutely!" Hiromi chirped. "I'll start things off! And it looks like I'm revealing my two truths and my lie to… Darla!"
She turned to the tanned girl and began thinking.
The way that the room was oriented, the order for the game would be Hiromi giving the choice to Darla first, then after Darla, it would pass to Lila, then Ayame. The order ended up looking a little something like this:
Hiromi to Darla to Lila to Ayame to Giselle to Olivia to Donoma then back to Hiromi.
Olivia was a little unhappy about the ordering, but she didn't say anything. She'd just have to make sure that her questions weren't too personal.
"Okay, I got it!" Hiromi decided. "My two truths and a lie… my favorite food is pancakes, I used to work as a Pokemon Ranger, and… the first time I had sex was with my husband! Now, which one of those is a lie?"
"MOM!" Ayame exploded, her face turning bright red with embarrassment and disgust. She didn't want to know stuff like that!
Donoma fell back on the couch, laughing with glee. "You're my kind of woman, Hiromi! That's a great question!"
As intense as the question might have been, the recipient of it wasn't bothered in the least. If Lila or Giselle had been answering they could have been embarrassed, but stuff like that didn't affect Darla very much.
"The lie… is it… your first time was with your husband?" Darla was a virgin herself, but she was also an idol. And statistically speaking, it wasn't uncommon to have sexual partners in high school (Donoma and Olivia certainly proved that) and it was very uncommon to wind up marrying your first sexual partner, so it seemed like a pretty safe bet.
"Nope! That one's the truth!" Hiromi chirped, smiling warmly. "He was so tender and gentle our first time, it was wonderful…"
Ayame buried her face in her stuffed Wooloo and screamed.
Well, this game is already off to a great start! What other truths and lies will be revealed by the girls as things progress? Any ideas for truths and lies you can think of that might fool some of our more observant and knowledgeable ladies?
