Chapter 309: Luna's attempt and fail.
(July 14, the Loud House.)
The morning is here, and everyone is having breakfast in the dining room, with Lincoln sitting between Harriet and Delilah, but someone is not amongst them and that someone is the returned mother who lost her memory, Luna Loud.
They look around and see that she hasn't come down yet, and so Lincoln gets up and this gets the attention of Delilah. "Linc, where the heck are you going?"
Lincoln sighs. "I'm gonna go and see if mom… If Luna wants to eat, she has to eat right. We all do." He seems less amused and more miserable.
They all felt concerned, he was no longer crying and in pain, but he might still be in pain somewhere. Right now, he's showing signs of depression, and last night he wasn't even sharing the same room with Delilah and chose to sleep on the couch and all of his clothing are no longer in the bedroom with Luna.
Michelle didn't like this, and neither did Delilah and Harriet. They feared that he might do something drastic and not so good, this is the total opposite of when Luna saw Lincoln lose his memory.
Lincoln then makes it to the stairs. "Coming down, dudes." He stops and looks in shock at who is coming down. It is Luna, but dressed in something else, the clothing she would wear.
Luna's attire: White and black striped shirt inside of a long sleeve purple jacket with a skull and note logo on the back, dark blue knee-ripped jeans with a white belt, purple boots with white straps and black fingerless gloves. Musical note earrings.
Lincoln backs up seeing this and they all see Luna dressed like this. "Good morning, everyone. So, we got a big day ahead of us right and I know what we can all do." They're all confused at her words and then Delilah asks.
"Luna are you feeling okay?"
Luna nods. "Never better, in fact, I wanna do my part and see what I can do…. To make myself the Luna you all know. For the sake of everyone…" she then looks towards Lincoln. "And to you, Linc."
Lincoln felt unsure about this and looks away. "Yeah, whatever." But he gets surprised when he gets hugged by Luna, and then she places a kiss on his forehead, but this doesn't make things better for him. He can tell, that this is not the same as he now knows.
Luna sees Lincoln is still not easy with this, and she knows he still doesn't trust her with this. 'Don't you worry Linc, I will make things as they were before. I promise, I will be the Luna Loud you know and love.'
Harriet can tell where this is going. 'This is not gonna turn good when this day is gonna be over.'
(Royal Woods Mall.)
After an hour of shopping, and checking out the new changes that Luna doesn't know about, and she is amazed by all of the changes. She bought some stuff, and they also had to warn her about the stuff she already has.
The ones with her are Michelle, Delilah and Lincoln. Harriet had her own turmoil to deal with and in secret she's trying to look for a spell to make someone recall their memories. Luna seems to be enjoying this, but he sees the confused looks from Delilah and Michelle.
'They think I'm acting weird, but I think Michelle Lewis knows that I'm trying to become the Luna Loud they all know and love. I just need to try and not to…'
Luna sees, that Lincoln is not amused by everything they have been doing and has mostly done absolutely nothing throughout the whole thing. He's been ignoring everyone and following them around, but he wasn't following Luna throughout their shopping time.
Lincoln has been tailing Michelle and Delilah as they shop, and they have been keeping an eye on him, but he has been steering clear of Luna throughout the whole thing, almost like he doesn't want anything to do with her. Right now, he's walking alongside Delilah and not even near Luna.
Lincoln has his arms in his pockets and his orange hoodie up, and a lot of his friends who walk by are concerned, while Tabby glares at Luna and the fact she's not the Luna Loud they all have come to know. Luna looks around and judging by their faces, they know about what had happened.
Leni and Luan wave to Lincoln and the others and he waves back, but when Luna waves at them they stop and go back to what they were doing at the café and they talk with Fiona, Miguel, Mandee and Jackie.
Luna is now upset at how everyone is around her. 'Everything did change and we were in the center of it all. Yet I started the change when I helped stop the luck thing, and saved Lincoln. I don't even think everyone here wants me around, unless I am the Luna who they all know after the conflict.'
'I guess some of the folks still recall my past bad times, like when I always push the speakers up to 11, and end up making a power blackout. I need to try something else and…' She then sees something and looks to Lincoln. "Hey, Linc. Look."
Lincoln and the others see the comic book store. "You wanna get something from there?"
Lincoln sighs. "No thanks, I'm good. Can we go home now?" Luna is shocked to hear this and this concerns Delilah and Michelle. They didn't think he would say that, but from what they recall he said that last year after Luna got mad at him and they both went to the mall, and we know that chapter.
Luna was now deeply concerned. This Lincoln, he's lost his emotions and is different. Then Sam arrives to them and he goes over and hugs her. "Hey there, Linc. You doing alright?"
They depart from the hug. "A little, things have been stale and less than appealing. Glad you're here, mom." Michelle and Delilah are happy to see his smile. Sam then sees Luna look to them concerned and even she's concerned about this.
"I'm gonna tag along wherever you guys are coming, for Linc's sake." they continue to the food court, and Lincoln holds' Sam's hand, like when he would with Luna. Luna sees this and is feeling like crying, but she tries to be strong.
(Ketcham Park.)
The place is as calm as the summer fun is bringing and an incoming event is coming, called the summer time butterfly party, and I don't know what that one is all about.
Luna is sitting by the fountain and with her are Sam, Delilah and Michelle. Lincoln is by the pond and watching the other kids playing around him and he skips some stones, but they end up sinking and not skipping.
Then Lola, Lana, Lucy and Lisa go towards him and sit by his side. They know he needs comfort after what he went through and even they're saddened to hear about what Luna has become.
Luna notices this and she wipes away some tears and looks to the others. "Guys, what the heck am I supposed to do? I wanna regain my memories, but Linc isn't even letting me…"
"Because he doesn't see the eyes of the Luna he knows" said Delilah. "This is new to him, he doesn't even know how to even comprehend after everything that's went wrong so fast. Do you have any fucking idea…"
"Delilah that is enough!" Michelle then looks to Luna. "Luna, we can tell that you're trying, but you're trying too hard. Try and be calm and give him some time, spend some moments with him and see what he likes now, not the old Lincoln who would go around with his sisters and do as they please."
"You are a literal role model to him and he has always looked up to you as someone he can trust and love. He doesn't see that anymore because his mom is gone, and he has Sam left to be his mom. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he would wanna move with her instead."
That one made Luna scared, and made Sam surprised. "Well, that does make sense" said Sam.
"When you watched the video, did you see yourself saying you should try but not too hard?" asked Michelle.
Luna nods. Michelle knew this would happen. "Then don't try too hard or too fast, do not rush it. You wanting to spend some mall and park time with him is rushing it, when clearly the one thing that would make Lincoln's day is spending some indoors time with you, and you haven't done that."
Sam nods. "She's right. I recall that you both would play some soothing tunes and not loud hardcore rock songs, and then go to the backyard and spend some bonding time at the hammock. Heck, even nap close by each other in comfort, that's the usual starter for Lincoln to recognize, or what some of us call, the comfort of mother Luna Loud."
Delilah is confused. "Wait, we're calling it that?"
Luna now sees what she's doing and she watches as Lincoln wipes away some tears and then speaks to the former loud sisters and Lucy hugs him. Luna now sees what she has done. "I… I didn't mean for this I just…. I don't want him to be like this…"
Sam goes over and hugs her, but Michelle and Delilah don't. Sam knows why, because they have come to know Luna in a way they have seen before. 'This is a lot to handle, but Luna can figure this out. She's gaining some of her known memories.'
(Night time.)
Luna is dressed in her night wear and she looks around the room, the posters and some of the stuff that belongs to Lincoln are still there, but his clothing aren't there anymore and this makes her concerned. She then leaves the room and she goes down the stairs.
She sees Lincoln, in the living room and looking through his comic that he is trying to make, he then stops and rips the page off and throws it into the trash can nearby and he tosses his pencil away. 'Dang it! Dang it! Fuck! I can't do this anymore, what the hell?!'
Lincoln then begins to shed some tears and he doesn't feel right in his head anymore. But then someone embraces him and the boy scooches away and sees that it's Luna. "Sorry, I thought that you needed some comfort. It sure looked like it. Are you alright, Linc?"
Lincoln calms down and looks away. "Yeah, sure. Whatever."
Luna then moves closer and she places a hand onto his shoulder. "Linc, I know what you're feeling and this hurts for me to know that you're in deep pain for not seeing me as the mom you know and love. Hurts me a lot that I can't be that mom you have come to know too."
"I just… This whole thing sucks. I don't even know what to do to even become someone who I don't even know. I watched the videos and i went through all the photo albums and this Luna… She's better than I am, and not because of the stuff she has, but because of the person she is."
"As for me? I'm just the same stupid Luna Loud who makes loud music and wants to go to the rock n' roll dream, and after what the others told me, that dream nearly got us into deep trouble. I can see why the Luna Loud you know is better than me, she's smarter and superior."
Lincoln was now feeling upset at how she feels and he moves closer to her. "Try not too hard." Luna looks towards him and sees his concerned expression. "I'm hurting, and so are you. You wanna be Luna and I want and need the same thing. We both want the same thing."
"Because it's also what we need." Lincoln then holds her hand. "I just didn't like seeing you as someone who doesn't know me and the others, because it made me feel like I was looking at someone I don't even know. But, I wanna give you the chance."
Luna is surprised to hear this and then Lincoln embraces her. "I want my mom back, and you want your son back. Luna Loud is in there, and we both know that. I don't wanna lose you. Please."
Luna then feels something spiking in her brain and she returns the embrace. "Same here, little buddy. Same here." She then places a kiss on his forehead. The duo stay in this embrace.
They don't even notice that Harriet, Delilah and Michelle are seeing this and smile. 'She's regaining some of herself. But she has a long way to go. Perhaps all she needed was the words from her son, to give her the chance to become who she should be.'
To be continued…
A/N: Luna is trying, and she sees her mistakes on why it's not working. She has a lot to do, but chances it will be short because the next chapter is from "Marvelomac1010." Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
