AFTER THE HIGH DRAMA OF THE LAST EPISODES, I FIGURED THAT A LIGHT HEARTED ONE WOULDN´T BE TOO OUT OF THE WAY. I HOPE YOU´LL ENJOY IT!
1. Int. Danny´s Room. Evening.
Danny is staring himself in the mirror and shakes his head at his own reflection. Chantay tries her best not to laugh at how he looks in his new work uniform, what can best be described as a pirate outfit!
Danny:
I can´t let anyone see me in this!
Chantay:
Give them your best "Argh, Matey!" and you´ll be fine!
Danny:
It´s not funny!
Chantay:
It´s not like anyone else wanted to hire you.
Danny:
You don´t think it´s because they have trouble finding applicants, who are willing to demean themselves this much?
Chantay:
It´s not gonna be all bad. Just think of all that sweet moolah, you´ll be bringing home in tips!
Danny:
I suppose, it´s a fair trade off. I look like a fool to amuse them and in return, they pay me for it. I´m officially a circus monkey!
Chantay smiles warmly at him and gives him a kiss on the cheek, before looking at him pleadingly.
Chantay:
Put on the hat for me.
He looks reluctant to.
Danny:
Chantay, you know that I love you, but there has to be a limit!
Chantay:
It completes the look!
Danny:
Don´t say I never do anything for you!
He puts his pirate hat on and even though Chantay tries her best, she´s can´t hold in her laughter anymore.
Chantay:
I´m sorry! It´s just too funny!
She runs out of there to finish laughing and he looks himself in the mirror with the eyes of someone, who´s already given up before he´s begun.
OPENING CREDITS
2. Int. Hallway. Day.
Danny and Peter are talking by Danny´s locker, while he´s getting things out of it.
Danny:
Would it be too inappropriate, if I tried coming to work in "White Face"? At least then there would be smaller chance, that anyone recognizes me!
Peter:
If you can´t do one anymore, then you can´t do the other either.
Danny:
Hmm ... an eye patch maybe?
Peter:
Wouldn´t that only make you fit in better?
Danny shakes his head, as he closes his locker.
Danny:
Why didn´t Liberty have to do embarrassing things like this?
Peter:
Because she gets straight A´s and your grades are somehow worse than mine?
Danny looks a little annoyed with him.
Danny:
You´re full of right answers today, aren´t you?
Peter:
It happens once every blue moon! Look, all you can do is keep your mind on the money and hope that your parents will grant you an early parole.
Danny:
It´s not much to hang my hopes on!
A very pretty Sophomore girl comes walking over to them and their jaws almost drop at how pretty she is and that she´ll talk to the likes of them! This is Stacey.
Stacey:
Hi, are you Danny Van Zandt?
They look even more surprised, that she would know Danny´s name and he actually gives his arm a pinch to check, if he´s dreaming.
Danny:
That´s the name my parents gave me!
Stacey giggles at his joke. They´re both clearly taken with her.
Stacey:
I´m Stacey. I heard that we´ll be working together, so I thought I´d come over and say hi in advance.
Peter:
That´s very smart! I´m Peter, by the way!
Danny:
You must get all A´s!
Stacey:
Hardly! I guess, I´ll see you tonight, Danny. It was nice meeting you, Peter.
Peter:
The pleasure was all mine!
Danny:
And mine too!
Stacey smiles to herself and heads off to class. The boys watch her leave.
Peter:
If you really don´t want the job, I could ...
Danny:
Don´t even think it!
Peter:
What about Chantay?
Danny:
It´s not my fault, that my new co-worker is a two hundred and twenty three on the ten scale!
Peter:
I´d call it at an even three hundred! It will be your fault, if you end up making out with her!
Danny:
Would you?
Peter:
Every man has his limits, my friend! I love Mia, but if that girl wanted me, it would be almost impossible to say no to her!
He pads him on the back and they head off to class.
3. Int. Computer Lab. Day.
Chantay is looking over some very expensive clothes on an on-line vendor´s site and looks pretty sucked up in it, to the amusement of Mia, who´s sitting next to her.
Mia:
You can´t will them to magically appear in you closet, if that´s what you´re attempting!
Chantay turns to her and smiles.
Chantay:
Why would I need to do that, when I have my man working for me?
Mia:
I thought, it was his parents, who made him take that job.
Chantay:
After I might have had a talk with them, that he doesn´t know about.
Mia:
What did you tell them?
Chantay:
Nothing big! Only that he spends all of the time he should be studying, hanging out with his friends.
Mia looks disappointed in her, but Chantay clearly thinks that it´s not a problem.
Chantay:
I´m tired of him never having money to take me anywhere or buy me presents!
Mia:
Like that two hundred dollar dress, you were checking out?
Chantay:
It would look amazing on me, wouldn´t it?
Mia:
The idea of getting a job of your own, so you can save up for it and feel some personal pride when you buy it, because you can say to yourself that you truly earned it, hasn´t crossed your mind?
Chantay:
Working is what we have men and boys for!
Mia rolls her eyes and goes back to looking at her own screen.
Mia:
Remind me never to bring you to a feminist rally!
Chantay is already back to being sucked up in the pretty clothes.
4. Int. Jolly Roger´s Fresh Catch. Day.
The restaurant looks like a modernized version of an old English tavern. Danny is in his work uniform and looks like he feels ridiculous for wearing it. He´s getting the intro speech from the head chef.
Head Chef:
All you need is to learn to use the right lingo. Like in stead of saying goodbye to the customers, you say "Fare Thee Well, Mateys"!
Danny:
Do I have to?
Head Chef:
They come here for a special experience, Danny! What would you say, if they ask you what the specials are?
Danny:
I tell them what the specials are?
Head Chef:
No, you don´t, because we never have any specials! That was a trick question.
Stacey comes over to them, dressed as an 17th century tavern girl. Her outfit doesn´t look nearly as ridiculous on her though, as Danny´s does on him. In fact, it only makes her look even prettier.
Stacey:
Be our land lobber ready for his training?
Head Chef:
Aye, that he be! Listen carefully to everything Stacey tells you and you´ll do alright, Danny.
He leaves them and Stacey smiles warmly at Danny, who loves having her smiling at him in return.
Danny:
I´ll never learn to talk like that!
Stacey:
Watch the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies one of these days. It helps.
Danny smiles.
Danny:
Thanks for the tip.
Stacey:
I have the first two at home on DVD. We can watch them together, if you want?
The first customers come in, before he has a chance to answer her, but it´s clearly very tempting to him.
Stacey:
We´ll have to finish our conversation later. Are you ready?
Danny:
Probably not!
Stacey:
I felt the same way my first time. Follow my lead and you´ll do fine.
Danny:
If you say so!
He clearly knows that continuing to say no to Stacey could be impossible in the long run, but follows after her anyway, as they go to tend to the customers.
5. Int. Hallway. Morning.
Danny comes up to his locker, where Chantay is waiting for him.
Chantay:
How was your first day?
Danny:
Thankfully not as bad as I expected!
Chantay:
Did you make a lot in tips?
Danny:
Is that all you care about?
Chantay:
I´m just being curious. Did you?
Danny:
Nothing, that will buy me a house or a Ferrari, but I wasn´t disappointed.
Chantay:
Are your colleagues nice?
Danny quickly wonders whether to tell her the truth or not.
Danny:
Yeah! One of them even invited me over for a movie night.
Chantay:
Already?
Danny:
I was a little surprised, but we really hit it off.
Chantay:
That´s nice. Are you gonna do it?
Danny:
You wouldn´t mind?
Chantay:
Not at all! If anything and I say this with all respect to your current friends, it wouldn´t hurt you to branch out a little and talk to more ... sophisticated people.
Danny smiles at her.
Danny:
You don´t think Peter and Derek are?
Chantay:
They´re one step above cavemen!
Danny:
Okay, I will. If you say so.
Chantay:
Consider it said!
She looks pleased, but then Stacey passes by them and waves at Danny. He waves back at her and they smile at each other, which Chantay doesn´t like one bit!
Chantay:
Don´t tell me, that´s you new work friend!
Danny:
Her name is Stacey. You´d like her, she´s really nice.
Chantay mockingly says "Stacey" quietly to herself, when he doesn´t see it.
6. Int. Cafeteria. Day.
Chantay is eating lunch with her girls, Mia, Jane and Darcy. They´re making wide eyes at her though, since it more looks like she´s trying to stab her lasagna to death, than eat it.
Jane:
I´m pretty sure that the cow, who gave it´s life to make that Lasagna, has been dead for a while, Sweetie!
Darcy:
Are you okay?
Chantay (mocking Danny):
"Chantay, meet Stacey, my new bestest friend in the whole world! Oh, I didn´t mention that she´s a super hottie? My bad!".
Mia:
Jealous much?
Chantay puts her utensils down and looks to her friends for answers.
Chantay:
I don´t want to be that kind of girlfriend, but I am! I don´t want him hanging out with girls, who make me feel ugly in comparison!
Jane:
I trust Johnny.
Darcy:
Not that I have a boyfriend or even one on the horizon, but it wouldn´t bother me. What would bother me, is if a guy tried to tell me that I couldn´t talk to some other guy, because he´s too good looking.
Mia:
Boys "window shop" all the time, but it´s doesn´t mean they want to do it with every girl, they meet.
Jane:
As if girls don´t?
Chantay:
Did your boyfriend tell you that? Well, try this on for size: She invited him over for a movie night!
Darcy:
Which couldn´t be because she´s trying to make a completely platonic work friend?
Chantay sulks, since they could very well be right.
Chantay:
I guess, it could be possible!
Jane:
Would you have felt the same way, if it was a fat girl with zits all over her face?
Chantay:
No.
Darcy:
Let me get this right. You´ve basically decided that you hate this girl and that Danny can´t even talk to her, solely based on her not being ugly and her and him getting along well?
Chantay:
I´m being irrational, aren´t I?
Mia:
Only a tiny bit!
Chantay tries to pretend that she´s okay with it, even if she isn´t.
7. Ext. Degrassi. Day.
Danny and Peter are having a talk, away from the prying ears inside.
Danny:
She is so sweet and nice, it´s crazy! By the end of the evening, I would have said yes to her right then and there, if she´d asked me to do it with her!
Peter laughs.
Peter:
Some girls will do that to you!
Danny:
I couldn´t help myself, when I got home either. I had to ... you know ... while I thought about her, or I never would have been able to fall asleep!
Peter:
So? I think about other girls than Mia, when I do that! Girls I see at school, various Disney princesses, my 4th cousin Annie, Buffy, that girl with the nose ring, who works at the 7/11 next to the train station ... what I´m saying is that thinking of another girl when you do ... that ... isn´t the same as cheating.
Danny:
I´ll be powerless, if she comes on to me!
Peter:
Then tell her, that you only want to talk at work.
Danny:
What if I do and it ends up being the one time, where I could have lived out every teenage boy´s biggest erotic fantasies, with an incredibly sexy girl at and was too chicken to?
Peter:
I don´t know what to tell you, man!
They both become quiet and start thinking hard.
Danny:
Are you picturing Stacey naked too?
Peter nods in agreement.
Peter:
Mia´s there too, so it´s okay.
Danny nods in agreement and pictures it for himself, putting a small smile on his face.
8. Int. Jolly Roger´s Fresh Catch. Evening.
The restaurant is pretty busy and Danny is working his butt off trying to keep all of his customers happy. One customer in particular looks unhappy and he goes to tend to it.
Danny:
Be it all to yer satisfaction?
Customer:
No, it be not! My fish is undercooked!
Danny:
I be sorry about that, Milady. May I take it to the ship´s cook and bring ye another one?
She hands the plate to him and he heads up to the food station, where Stacey is already waiting for her order to come up. He puts the plate up on the food station for the head chef to look at. Stacey smiles her sweet and cute smile at him.
Stacey:
It´s thankfully not many evenings that are like this.
Danny:
Do ye promise?
Stacey:
Aye, I do!
They smile at each other.
Danny:
We´re already damaged from working here!
Stacey:
Have you thought about my offer? You, me, some popcorn and a very quotable pirate movie tomorrow night?
Danny:
Yeah, sure. Is that all it is?
The head chef comes over them with Stacey´s order ready.
Head Chef:
There you go, Stacey. What´s wrong with that dish?
Danny:
The customer said that the fish was undercooked.
Head Chef:
Ah, dammit! Wait here.
He heads back into the kitchen, as Stacey grabs her plates.
Danny:
You didn´t answer my question.
Stacey:
It can be what we want it to be.
She leaves him to go and serve her customers. Danny takes a deep breath, as he takes in what she said.
9. Int. The Dot. Evening.
Danny is helping Peter to close up.
Peter:
She said those exact words?
Danny:
Do you think she wants to do it with me?
Peter:
I guess so!
Danny:
She couldn´t have meant something else, could she?
Peter:
Like what? Face it, pal! You´re one lucky SOB!
Danny:
On one hand I want to because damn, that girl is sexy! On the other hand, there´s Chantay. We´ve been a couple for a long time now.
Peter:
I didn´t think you would last more than a month or two.
Danny:
To be honest, I didn´t either, but she´s grown on me. So help me, I´ve even considered having a future with her.
Peter:
As in kids, marriage and all that stuff?
Danny:
Perhaps someday. That won´t happen, if I throw it all away for some girl, who while she´s insanely hot, I don´t know yet. There could be ways, where we´re just too different.
Peter:
I couldn´t do it to Mia. Unless she herself suggested it and joined us, in which case all bets would be off. Then again, it´s not me, who´s in your shoes!
Danny wonders what to do.
10. Int. Classroom. Day.
Chantay is trying her best to stay awake during what looks like it´s a very boring class, which isn´t helped by her lack of sleep. Mia is sitting next to her and gives her a nudge, just as she´s about to nod off. Chantay comes to life again and smiles drowsily at Mia.
Chantay (whispering):
Thanks.
Mia (whispering):
You´re welcome. You look like you haven´t slept all night!
Chantay (whispering):
That´s because I didn´t. I couldn´t stop picturing Danny and that Stacey girl together,
Mia (whispering):
You have to tell him how you feel.
Chantay (whispering):
Then he would have to quit his job and I´d be back to where I started.
Mia (whispering):
Isn´t that still better than driving yourself crazy over something, that probably isn´t anything?
Chantay admits from her facial expression, that Mia is right, before yawning.
11. Int. Hallway. Day.
Danny is heading to his next class, when he runs into Stacey.
Stacey:
Hi, Danny. I´m so glad, I caught you!
Danny:
What´s up?
Stacey:
Is it possible, that I can take a rain check on our movie night?
Danny:
Yeah, we can do it some other day.
Stacey:
Great! It´s because ...
She leans in to whisper to him and he leans in to listen.
Stacey (whispering):
My girlfriend has an unexpected evening off from her job and we don´t get to spend that much time together.
Danny gets what she means and smiles to himself, looking a little relieved.
Danny:
You´re a ...
Stacey:
There´s only a few who know, but I feel like I owed you an explanation.
Danny:
Your secret is safe with me.
Stacey:
Thanks. It´s not that I don´t want you to meet her, now that we´re becoming friends, but ...
Danny:
It´s fine! Really!
She smiles at him.
Stacey:
You´re the best, Danny! I´m so glad, that I have a real work friend in you!
Danny:
Same here.
Stacey:
Later!
She leaves him and he looks relieved, that him cheating isn´t an option anymore. Just as he´s thinking about it, a flustered looking Chantay comes up to him.
Chantay:
I don´t want you to be alone with that Stacey girl! I know that it´s totally irrational of me to even think that you´d cheat on me or to suspect her of anything, but I don´t want it!
Danny:
It´s okay.
She looks pleasantly surprised.
Chantay:
It is?
Danny:
I won´t do anything, that makes you this upset! I love you, Chantay.
She looks glad and they hug.
Chantay:
I love you too, Danny. Honestly, you never thought about hooking up with her? She is really pretty!
Danny:
I have more than enough in you.
Chantay:
You can still talk to her at work, but I´ll understand, if you want to quit.
Danny:
I think, I´ll stay there for a while. I need money, so I can spoil my girl, don´t I?
Chantay looks delighted, being none the wiser.
12. Int. The Dot. Day.
Danny and Peter are celebrating with a soda.
Peter:
She´s a ... ?
Danny:
It surprised me too, but yes, she is.
Peter:
Chantay doesn´t know?
Danny:
She doesn´t have a clue and is more in love with me than ever!
Peter:
Congratulations on your small victory!
Danny:
I´ll take the few, I can get!
They toast and have a sip.
Peter:
Have you met her special someone?
Danny:
Not yet, but I´m sure, I will soon.
Peter:
Do you think she´s as hot, as Stacey is?
Danny:
She is, when I imagine them together!
Danny looks happy with how it all turned out.

She looks to someone off screen to come and join her and looks a little annoyed.
BELINDA:

Alicia hurries into the shot and looks apologetic. She´s the same age as Belinda.
ALICIA:
Sorry, Belinda. I thought you were gonna say more stuff first, before I had to come in.
BELINDA:
Can´t you do anything right?
ALICIA:
I´m trying!
BELINDA:
Then try harder!
It´s clear from the way they act around each other, that Belinda is the boss of their friendship. Belinda turns to the camera and gets her game face back on.
BELINDA:
You´ll get to know both of us, although I don´t know why you´d want to bother with getting to know her, when I´m there! Basically, everyone loves me and think i´m the most super awesome girl in the world ...
ALICIA:
Maybe you should lie that much. They´re gonna find out eventually.
Belinda gives her the eyes of wrath, like very few can!
BELINDA:
Find out what exactly, miss Alicia Elizabeth Harper?
ALICIA:
That no one except me likes you. I´m not even sure anymore, that I do!
BELINDA:
This trailer is over!
She storms off and Alicia smiles to herself, having gotten a small victory over her, before turning to the camera.
ALICIA:
Come and join us! It´s sure to be fun!
She waves goodbye to us as we fade to black.
