Family of Two.
Chapter 358: A day before the school begins.
(September 7, the Loud House.)
The kitchen is filled with noise, as Harriet is done washing dishes and then she walks away from the kitchen and she heads to where the others are, she spots Michelle putting on her coat. "Hey, Harriet. I am heading to work now, and also escorting Delilah to her karate class in the mall."
Harriet nods. "But doesn't she need someone to bring her back home?"
Michelle smiles. "Yeah, true. But it's all been arranged, her friend, Allison will have her mom bring her back here. Everything's been taken care of and Delilah is already in the car, I have to get going. Tell Luna and Lincoln that I'm headed off now."
Harriet is confused. "Sorry to say, they left before you even knew. They left earlier, and are off to their mother and son time, also Sam isn't available to spend time with them because she's having a bonding time with her little brother."
"He's trying to cope with advancing in school, along with his friends in their little video gamers club, and chances there's a lot more to come for tomorrow. Delilah prepared for everything when she goes back to Middle School tomorrow?"
Michelle nods. "Everything has been set and made, now all we gotta do is wait for the next day to come. Delilah will be there to help Lincoln, and I have to get going now. Be back soon." She walks out of the house and she gets into her car and they drive off.
Harriet waves to them as they drive off, and then she recalls something. 'Even though it does sound good for the kids to return to classes, there might not be some good things going on, and one of them might be a certain teacher who might still be addicted to Michelle.'
'But one thing I do know, is that when this trouble happens, then that man will be in serious trouble, after all… Lincoln took self-defense training and Delilah is a black belt in karate, Bolhofner doesn't stand a chance against them, and how united we are as a family.'
She then goes to the TV and she turns it on. "Time to watch another episode of The Unexplained, with the host, William Shatner."
Meanwhile, Michelle and Delilah talk as Michelle's driving. "So, Middle School tomorrow. Excited, kiddo?"
Delilah nods. "Advancing in my classes, and I am so ready for what comes next. I still am with my friends, and also thinking of starting a new club, like a news crews club. I mean, the journalist club might be part of that team, a two club tag team to cover stories around the Royal Woods Middle School."
Michelle chuckles. "Well, that's an amazing idea, anything else looking forward to?"
Delilah then feels upset. "Yeah, Bolhofner….. I know the guy has been taken away so they can see if he can be rehabilitated from his romantic addiction, but I am so not sure if he is right in the head, or changed. Some part of me thinks he might still harbor secret feelings for you."
"And to top it all off, I am not the only loud there. The guy might end up targeting Lincoln, and I need to make sure he doesn't run into his antics of trying to get to you, otherwise it won't go so well, also he's not my teacher… Bolhofner is a teacher for the freshmen, and I don't want Lincoln to be part of it."
Michelle thinks about this. "Well, there is one thing that the Middle School has that he can't overtake, and that's the FutureTech drones hidden all over the place. So, whatever Bolhofner has planned, won't work, and surely he won't get the best of you and Lincoln."
"I can promise you this, Delilah… No one is gonna be messing with you and Lincoln and the school would have to make sure nothing else goes wrong, or there will be a lot of repercussions." They then continue their way to whatever stuff they need to do. But both have some doubts and small concerns.
Delilah. 'From what we do know, Bolhofner is a tough man, and he might not be taken down so easily. He did lock my daughter into his classroom, and he might try to get the drop on Lincoln. I hope the karate classes and self-defense training will help them against whatever he has planned.'
Michelle. 'I gotta be there for Lincoln, I know he has done his part with self-defense training with his heroic counterparts, but this man, Bolhofner is as tough as nails and the only person who has known him is Lynn Junior, and also my friends. This is not gonna be an easy thing when tomorrow hits.'
(Tall Timbers Park.)
We now go to the park here, and this is where Lincoln and Luna are spending some mother and son time. They both sit by the shores near the lake and what watch as the lake has no people around enjoying this, because everyone is prepping for school the following day.
Lincoln sighs and he relaxes. "So much to look forward too, and I wish Sam was here to spend this time with us, but we understand her choice. Right mom?"
Luna nods. "Yeah, also High School is gonna be a rockin' time for us, I mean we have the music club, and the marching band club which I am now thinking of this new stick we could do together. When a big event comes up, for the High School, then perhaps both sides could perform."
"We could have the classic sounds of marching bands going along the beat, and with the wicked vibes of rock n' roll into the mix…. But to do that, I gotta talk to the band leader of the marching band, and then we could talk about this towards Principal Rivers and Oliver."
Lincoln thinks about this. "Well, that does sound like an awesome idea. I mean, I have seen some concerts where they rock n' roll and have an orchestra with them, and I kinda see the marching band sorta like an orchestra. The combination might just work, and I know the principal will be okay with it."
Luna smiles. "Thanks kiddo. Looks like we're both giving each other some good vibes before we get there. Also, hi Luce change."
Lincoln turns to his left and he sees her, Lucy Shapiro, the adopted daughter to the Shapiro family, and the adopted sister towards the emo teen, Maggie. "Hey, Luce. What's up?"
Lucy sits next to them. "I… I wanted to talk, to Lincoln about…. About Elementary School."
Luna can tell where this is goes, and so she gets up. "You two hang tight, I'm gonna get us something to eat, be right back." She then heads off and this gives Lincoln and Lucy some time to talk.
Lincoln looks to the little Goth girl. "So, what's on your mind Lucy?"
Lucy musters the will to talk. "I know that… I know that you're not gonna be in the school we go to, and I know that some of us… well all of us aren't part of the Loud's family name anymore, but we will manage and handle things. But trouble will spark, and so… I wanna do my part and watch over them, for you."
"I don't want you to be worried about us while you're in Middle School. I mean, yes we have changed and become better girls after what's been going down, but I still kinda fear what might transpire as we advance in our classes and social lives, and they need someone to watch over them and…."
Lincoln places a hand onto her shoulder and smiles. "Lucy, calm down. Look, we're not last name related, but deep down I still see you as my sisters, all of you. I know you can handle watching over the younger ones, amongst all of them it is you who grew up the most and changed."
"Lucy, you got this. I trust you to make sure nothing goes wrong, and soon enough they'll look up to you, like old times. You got this, and I am happy to see you take charge and try to be the older sister to the former little sisters, it shows that you care and that you have a heart. I'm proud of you, Luce."
The little Goth girl smiles and she hugs her former brother with some tears of joy. "Thank you, Lincoln. I promise that I will not forsake the words you told me, I promise."
Lincoln smiles and he returns the embrace. "Anytime Luce, it's gonna be okay when tomorrow hits. Because I know you can do it."
As this happen, Luna sees this moment with some ice cream cups in her hands, and she smiles. 'Well, looks like the inspirational responsibilities of Lincoln is still thriving within the former louds, this is nice for Lucy to try and step up the ball game. Gonna be a whole lot different for them in Grade School.'
Luna goes over to them and she hands them some ice cream and she got them their favorite flavors, and while this is happening: Lisa, Lana and Lola see this and also think about the words from Lincoln and Lucy, they know Lucy will watch over them, but that does not mean that they shouldn't change too.
They will also uphold their part and make sure they don't cause any trouble, Lincoln won't be there to help them out, and so they need to step up and be prepared for whatever comes, then Lana speaks. "You guys wants some ice cream?"
