WHAT IF? - SEASON 5 EPISODE 18 - CREEP (PART 2)

1. Ext. Courtyard. Day.

Gracie and Jenna are hanging out and talking, when Dallas comes over to them. He tries smiling at Gracie, but she´s having nothing of it.

Dallas:

Can I talk to you privately for a minute, Gracie?

She doesn´t make eye contact with him and in stead looks to Jenna.

Gracie:

Do you think I should do him any favors, Jenna?

Jenna:

I wouldn´t.

Dallas:

Please. It´s the first time in years that me and Drew aren´t talking and it sucks.

Gracie finally looks up at him, as does Jenna.

Gracie:

Because you were a total dick towards him!

Jenna:

What did you expect to happen?

Dallas:

Not this! Look, for old times sake.

Gracie:

Try it with someone else. Until Drew forgives you, I won´t either!

The girls look away from him and he starts to become desperate.

Dallas:

Look, I hate that this is happening and I can´t imagine that Drew is any happier over it either. I mean, if you think about it, isn´t he getting it worse than anyone, thanks to this situation?

Gracie considers it for a moment, then looks up at him again.

Gracie:

The only way you can get him to forgive you, is by getting him back together with Alli. I can´t think of anything else, that will work on him right now.

Dallas nods in understanding.

OPENING CREDITS

2. Int. Cafeteria. Day.

Alli and Clare are getting a cup of hot chocolate from the machine.

Alli:

I´m gonna need a sugar rush to get through this morning.

Clare:

Are you still worried over losing your reputation?

Alli:

I had a talk with my brother, that helped me to put it all in perspective. I mean, what was my reputation before this anyway? Just a girl, that only a few here knew and no one else knew anything about. That´s still who I am today.

Clare:

Good for you for looking on the bright side of life! Does this mean, that you´re ready to forgive Drew?

Alli:

I´m not mad at him anymore, if that´s what you´re asking. At the same time, I can´t pretend like this hasn´t happened and it´s his fault too, even if he doesn´t want to see it. Until he´s at least willing to admit that much, I can´t get back together with him.

Clare:

Sometimes I don´t mind, that I haven´t gotten into the dating game yet. This is one of them!

Alli looks like she understands where she´s coming from.

3. Int. Hallway. Day.

Alli and Clare are heading to class, when Dallas walks up to talk to Alli.

Dallas:

Bhindari Junior, I need to talk to you about Drew.

Clare:

You can try calling her by her real name and you might have more luck!

Dallas:

I didn´t come here to fight. I´m here because I care about him.

Alli:

It´s okay, Clare. I want to hear what he has to say.

Clare leaves them but not before giving Dallas an evil glare as she passes by him, that give him the chills.

Alli:

Say what you have to say. I have to be in class soon.

Dallas:

He´s head over heels for you, Alli. It´s not just a crush for him anymore, he really cares for you.

Alli:

I like him too, but the way you talked, when he came back to the party made me feel like I was his conquest. It wasn´t a nice feeling.

Dallas:

Us guys can be insensitive sometimes, you know that! For anything else that I could have done, that has made you feel hurt in any way, I´m very sorry. It´s easy see why Drew likes you so much and I hope, you´ll give him another chance.

She takes his apology with a small nod.

Alli:

Apology accepted. I still can´t take Drew back though, sorry.

Dallas begins to look frustrated, that it isn´t working on her.

Dallas:

Why can´t you?

Alli:

Because you basically told everyone, that we´re doing it, Dummy! It won´t matter what the truth is, once they see us together and match it up in their heads, with what they´ve read on Face Range. I don´t have any choice.

She walks off to class and he´s left looking frustrated at how it went.

4. Montage - Music: "Something´s Wrong" by K´s Choice

Dallas comes into the classroom, where his next lesson is to take place. Marisol is looking very down and is sitting with Katie, as is Eli who´s sitting with Mo. He tries to make eye contact with Drew, but Drew is still so mad at him, that he won´t even look at him. He takes a seat where he can sit alone, which also signifies well how he´s feeling.

He tries to approach Drew after class, but Drew won´t talk to him.

We see Alli watching Drew from afar and wishing that things could be different. She doesn´t see that he´s doing the same, when she isn´t looking. Dallas sees the whole thing though and it´s making him feel lower than dirt.

5. Ext. Degrassi. Day.

It´s clearly starting to get colder outside and there aren´t all that many spending their break outside. One of those who is however is Dallas, who has a whole bench to herself. Bianca arrives late for school and sees him sitting there. She comes over to him.

Bianca:

Where´s your usual sidekick?

Dallas:

He doesn´t like me all that much right now.

Bianca:

Well, that sucks!

She sits down across from him.

Dallas:

A little late, aren´t you?

Bianca:

It´s a long story. So why isn´t Drew talking to you?

Dallas:

I played a part, a big part, in him and his girlfriend breaking up.

Bianca:

That´s a shame. I thought they looked cute together.

Dallas:

I also think that he doesn´t like me for another reason.

Bianca:

Your pursuit of a girl, we both know?

Dallas:

She´s so hot and I know, we would be close to perfect together. But if this is the prize I have to pay for it, then I´m out. It´s not worth it.

Bianca:

So you have a conscience after all? That´s nice to know, considering that you tried to manipulate my best friend, after it didn´t work on me!

Dallas:

I´m guessing that my karma is in the toilet for that one too.

Bianca:

Luckily for you, it´s close to impossible for Imogen to stay mad at anyone for more than a day, if she can even manage it for that long. Dallas, what you´ve done is nothing compared to what I´ve done and I´m doing okay on the social front, don´t you think?

He nods.

Bianca:

If you show people that you´re sorry and are willing to change, then they tend to forgive you pretty easily. That´s what life has taught me anyway.

Dallas:

Where would you start, if you were me?

Bianca:

That´s easy. You just help Drew and his favorite little Indian delight get back together.

Dallas:

If I can´t do that?

Bianca:

The next best thing would be to fix things between Eli and Marisol, don´t you think? It is your fault after all, that they´re fighting.

Dallas bats an eye at her and she admits that he´s right.

Bianca:

And ten percent my fault! Okay, maybe twenty, but that´s as high as I´ll go! I´ll try to work on Eli, if you try to work an Marisol. Deal?

They fist bump on it.

6. Int. Hallway. Day.

Dallas comes down the hallway and sees Marisol and Eli having an argument, that´s catching everyone´s attention.

Eli:

If that´s how it´s gonna be from now on, then forget about it!

Marisol:

I can´t believe, you would be this selfish!

Eli:

I´m being selfish? You´re the one who´s throwing us out the window, so you can join that cult!

Marisol:

That you said that tells me everything, I need to know!

She storms away from him, looking very upset. Dallas should be glad, that his plan is working, but seeing her that way clearly isn´t what he wanted either.

7. Int. Hallway (elsewhere). Day.

Marisol has found a semi-private place, where she´s getting her cry on. Dallas comes looking for her and finds her. She looks embarrassed, that he´s seeing her like this.

Marisol:

Were you following me?

Dallas:

I saw the fight you and Eli had. Are you okay?

Marisol:

No! I love him, Dallas. It hurts in my heart, when we have a fight.

Dallas starts to see that the one he´s hurting more than anyone is Marisol and feels bad over having caused a lot of it.

Dallas:

Is it over you joining the squad, that you´re fighting?

Marisol:

I know that it´s because he´s afraid of losing me, that he´s acting this way. I´ve told him that it won´t change anything between us, but he won´t believe me.

Dallas:

It is going to, no matter how hard you try not make it. Why do you think athletes and cheerleaders date each other, besides looking good on one another´s arm?

Marisol sees what he means, when she thinks about it.

Marisol:

Because they hang out in the same circles and spend a lot of time close to each other.

Dallas:

How many girls on our squad do you think go out with artsy guys like Eli?

Marisol:

Either none or close to it. But that´s not gonna happen for us!

Dallas:

And you don´t think, he has a good reason to be worried sick, that this will tear you apart? I would be scared senseless of losing you, if I were him right now!

His words get through to her and she smiles at him.

Marisol:

Thanks, Dallas. For helping me to see it from his perspective.

Dallas:

No sweat, Mare. Maybe you need to reconsider if it´s worth it, with everything you could be losing.

She nods in understanding. He looks glad to have helped her.

8. Int. Classroom. Day.

Alli is sitting in class with Clare and her other classmates. The teacher, Miss Oh, is writing something on a whiteboard, while her students wait for her to finish.

Hatzilakos (over the P.A):

Would Alli Bhindari and Andrew Torres please come to the principal´s office. I repeat, that´s Alli Bhindari and Andrew Torres.

Alli looks a little embarrassed and stands up. Miss Oh smiles at her.

Miss Oh:

You know where it is, don´t you?

Alli:

Yes, Miss Oh. I don´t think it´ll take long.

Alli hurries out of there.

9. Int. Principal´s Office. Day.

Drew is already there, when Alli arrives. Hatzilakos gives her a friendly smile.

Hatzilakos:

Welcome, Alii. Have a seat.

She sits down on a chair next to Drew´s.

Hatzilakos:

As you know, we monitor social media for any warning signs, that our students could be getting into trouble and a recent posting on Face Range was just brought to my attention. Are you aware of the one I´m referring to?

Alli and Drew both turn their heads to look at one another.

Alli:

Do you want to tell her?

Drew:

Miss Hatzilakos, the one who made that posting had no idea, what really happened that evening. He wasn´t even there in person, he just heard it from someone else.

Hatzilkos:

So it is true?

Alli:

No, no, no! We´ve never come close to that!

Drew:

It´s my fault because I said something to a friend of mine in a way, that could be misunderstood. You know how people jump to conclusions based on nothing!

Alli:

All we did was fool around a little, that´s it!

Drew:

She´s telling the God´s honest truth.

Hatzilakos looks like she believes them.

Hatzilkos:

I´m sure that I don´t need to tell you how fast a rumor can spread and what it can do to both of you, even if it isn´t true?

Drew:

I´m trying to get the one who posted it to take it down. That´s all I can do and words can´t describe how sorry I am, that Alli got mixed up in all of this. She´s not that kind of girl at all.

Alli can´t help smiling a little at what he said.

10. Int. Hallway. Day.

Drew and Alli come out from the principal´s office together. It´s clearly helped a little, that they were forced to talk about it.

Alli:

That´s one thing, I´m never telling my parents has happened!

Drew:

I don´t even know how my mom would react, if I told her!

They smile at each other.

Alli:

It was kinda nice to get it all out in the open, even if it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life at first!

Drew:

One of? That´s my new number one!

Alli:

Are you really trying to get him to take it down?

Drew:

I´ll get him to do it, if I have to threaten to beat him up to do it!

Alli:

And those who shared it?

Drew:

I´ll get him to tell me their names and I´ll chase them down until it´s erased from the internet forever. You have my word, Alli. This won´t follow you around any longer, than I can help it.

Alli:

Thanks, I guess.

Drew:

I totally get why you don´t want see me right now, but it´s not the end for us entirely, is it?

He looks at her anxiously and she gives him a kiss on the cheek.

Alli:

I never said that, did I?

Drew:

See you around, Alli.

Alli:

See you around, Drew.

He watches her with a small smile on his face as she walks away from him, knowing that it´s not the end for them.

11. Int. The Dot. Day.

Eli and Marisol are feeding one another French fries and are clearly back on good terms again. Dallas watches them from his own table, while drinking a glass of soda, with a smile. It becomes wider, when Drew comes over to him, holding a large glass of soda.

Drew:

Is there room for one more at this table?

Dallas:

There´s a free chair, isn´t there?

They smile at one another and drew sits down with his soda.

Drew:

I heard a little bird tell me, that Marisol has chosen not to take the open spot on the Power Squad.

Dallas:

I had a little talk with her, that made her see it more his way.

Drew:

You don´t want her for yourself anymore?

Dallas:

There´s other fish in the sea. Ones that it won´t cost me my best friend and my soul to get it on with.

Drew:

Were you the one, who alerted Hot Sauce?

Dallas:

Did it work?

Drew takes a sip of his soda before continuing.

Drew:

It left us in a better place, than we were before.

Dallas:

But you´re still not back together?

Drew:

Not yet. That doesn´t mean the door isn´t still open, for when things have cooled down.

Dallas:

You could find someone to spend that time with, until she´s ready to take you back.

Drew:

Nah, I´d rather wait for her. I think that it took this whole thing to make me realize, how much she means to me.

Dallas:

I wish, I had someone that I felt that way about.

Drew:

The winter formal is coming up in a few weeks. That´s a good opportunity to start something with a new girl.

Dallas:

Who do you suggest I ask out?

Drew:

There are a few good catches left, as far as single girls in our grade goes. Bianca is single, from what I know.

Dallas doesn´t look too dismissive of it.

Dallas:

I don´t have anything to lose by asking her.

Drew:

If you want to impress the boys on the team, there´s your top pick! Not to mention, that she´s turned down every other guy, who´s asked her out so far.

Dallas:

You know what? I think, i just might. Does this mean that I´m forgiven?

Drew:

It means that I appreciate how you´ve tried to make it up to both me and everyone else, whose lives you threw a monkey wrench into.

Dallas:

I had to do something to get my karma back on track, right?

Drew:

And because I´ve realized that it´s in part my fault too, what happened with Alli.

Dallas:

Are we cool?

Drew:

Yeah, we´re cool.

They toast on their sodas on it.

12. Ext. Street. Day.

Clare, Jenna, Gracie and Alli are coming up the street towards The Dot.

Jenna:

Do you feel different, now that you´re single again, Alli?

Alli:

Not really. I´m pretty at ease with the whole thing honestly.

Gracie:

Why would she feel different?

Jenna:

I dunno. I guess I´m just dreading the day, when me and KC will break up, although it´s hopefully far into the future!

Clare:

What makes you sure, that you´ll break up?

Jenna:

Relationships between those our age rarely last all that long! I mean, look at Harriet Sinclair! How many boyfriends has she gone through already, since we started at Degrassi?

Clare/Alli/Gracie:

A lot!

Jenna:

Every time he looks at another girl, who´s prettier than me, I can´t help thinking if he wouldn´t rather be with her. Oh, well! That´s a thing for me to deal with another day!

Alli:

It´s not all that bad, Jenna. I mean, of course I´d rather that we were together, but it´s more like we´re on a break than us splitting up for good.

Clare:

Like Ross and Rachel were?

Alli:

Yes, Clare.

Gracie:

I hope that works out better for you, than it did for them!

Alli still looks sure in her case though.

13. Ext. Street. Day (elsewhere).

Coming from the other side street and also up to The Dot are Bianca, Imogen and Fiona.

Imogen:

You´re telling me, that he doesn´t want to be friends with me?

Fiona:

Of course, he does, Immy! Who wouldn´t want to be friends with you?

Imogen:

A lot of the kids I grew up with didn´t.

Bianca:

That´s because they couldn´t appreciate the wonder, that is you, like we can! Forget that I said anything about Dallas, he could have been sincere for all I know.

Fiona:

Is there any reason why you dislike him so much? Like has he done anything to deserve it?

Bianca:

I don´t dislike him, but he´s a jock! They´re all the same, when it comes down to it. Shallow, simple minded nitwits, who only care about getting into the panties of as many dumb girls as they can!

Imogen and Fiona have to take in what she said.

Imogen:

If there´s such a thing as being having prejudice towards jocks, then you qualify for an award for it!

Bianca:

I´m just saying the truth about them.

Fiona:

Before you met me, what was your opinion on rich girls?

Bianca:

I couldn´t stand any of them.

Fiona:

Is that still how you feel now?

Bianca:

Not now that I´ve gotten to know you! Your life has been as messed up as mine has, just in a different way.

Imogen:

So it´s safe to say, that she´s changed your opinion on them as a whole?

Bianca:

Not all of them! I still hate the Kardashians and Paris Hilton!

Fiona:

That´s okay, they´re in a category entirely of their own!

Imogen:

In that case, who´s to say that Dallas can´t change your opinion on jocks?

Bianca sees that they have her and can´t come up with an answer right away, to Fiona and Imogen´s amusement.

Bianca:

It´s just too unlikely, okay?

Fiona:

I used to think that they should lock girls like you up and throw away the key, Bianca. I don´t anymore, thanks to you opening my eyes.

Imogen:

Anyway, prejudgement is a terrible thing and we should try our best to avoid it, when we can!

Fiona:

Well said, future president Moreno!

Bianca nods along too and sees that they´re right in what they´re telling her.

14. Ext. The Dot. Day.

The two groups of girls come up to the entrance at the same time.

Imogen:

Did you decide to come to The Dot too after school?

Gracie:

What a crazy coincidence!

Fiona:

Does everyone here know everyone else and it´s just me, who´s out of the loop?

Jenna:

Not entirely!

Imogen:

Sorry, Fi. These are my bandmates Gracie, who you´ve already met and the blonde one is Jenna, our gorgeous and extremely talented lead singer! The other two standing left to right are her friends Alli and Clare.

Gracie:

Everyone, this is Fiona, who´s from New York, I remember that much from talking to her and Bianca, the one girl in school you least want to start a fight with! Immy you already know.

Fiona looks at Alli and tries to recognize her.

Fiona:

You were at Katie´s party, weren´t you?

Alli:

With my now ex-boyfriend, yes.

Clare:

It´s cold out here! I´m going inside!

Jenna:

I couldn´t have said it better!

The girls head inside.

15. Int. The Dot. Day.

Dallas and Drew see Bianca and the others come in and Dallas stands up from his seat.

Drew:

Good luck.

Dallas walks over to her and smiles at her.

Dallas:

Hi, Bianca. Can we talk for a sec?

Bianca:

I guess so. Imogen, order my usual for me.

Imogen:

Sure.

The others head up to the counter or start to find tables to sit at, leaving only Dallas and Bianca standing there.

Dallas:

Did you have a talk with Eli?

Bianca:

It became clear that they won´t be breaking up for a long time to come, if ever!

Dallas:

That´s pretty much what I got from Marisol too. I guess we both ended up with unlucky crushes this time around.

Bianca:

It´s not the first time and won´t be the last.

They nod in agreement and smile shyly at one another.

Dallas:

The winter formal is coming up. Do you have a date for it?

Bianca:

I was just gonna go there with Imogen and Fiona. Are you asking me to go there with you?

Dallas:

If you don´t want to, it´s okay. It´s not like we know each other, just because we´ve talked a few times these last days.

Bianca takes a few seconds to think about it, then nods at him. It makes him pleased.

Bianca:

A few ground rules first. No getting grabby or trying to kiss me, if I don´t want you to. You pay for the tickets and pick me up from my foster parent´s house, where you will drop me off at the end of the date. Don´t you dare think of this as a sure thing, because I agreed to go on a date with you.

Dallas:

Bianca, it sounds like you´re just the kind of girl, I need one of in my life!

He looks glad at how it all turned out for him.
