Family of two.
Chapter 379: Middle School Talent Show.

(October 1. Royal Woods Middle School.)

The school day is over, and right now Luna Loud and Sam Sharp walk down the halls, and they pass by some students who are all headed to the auditorium so they can see the talent show, but these two head to the backstage to check on someone and that someone is the son of Luna Loud, Lincoln Loud.

They make it to the backstage and they see him, Lincoln Loud and his brand new keyboard and he checks if it still works. "Lincoln!" The boy sees Luna and Sam, he smiles and he goes over and hugs them both. "Glad we showed up kiddo" said Luna.

Lincoln chuckles. "I feel happy with you two here, this means a lot to me always when you guys are coming to watch me perform."

They depart from the hug and then Sam speaks. "We came because we wanna see how awesome you are with music, but we all know that you are an ace when it comes to the music genre and talent and all thanks to an awesome teacher."

Luna chuckles. "Yeah, I guess I am." She then looks to her son. "Linc, remember this. If you don't manage to win, then that's chill kiddo. What truly matters, is that you showed everyone, and I'll always be dang proud of you, buddy."

Lincoln smiles. "Thanks mom, and glad familiar faces are the ones I'm up against." they look to the others who re there, they are the friends of both Lincoln and Jordan, but they question why former bullies Patrick and Dennis are there, and why the heck do they have a med kit and fire extinguisher.

Sam then speaks. "Dude, there better not be a fire, or its not gonna go so well."

Then they hear the voice of Meryl from the stage. "Good afternoon ya'll. Welcome to the Royal Woods Middle Talent Show!" Everyone cheers, and the three judges of this whole thing are Principal Ramirez, Ms. Salter and Ms. Palm. "We may now start, with the first act, and with the song from 12 is Midnight!"

The crowd cheers, and then Luna looks to her son. "That's our cue dude, we're gonna go and watch like everyone else. We'll be cheering you on, buddy."

Sam goes over to Lincoln. "You got this, Lincoln. We know you do."

Lincoln smiles and he nods. "Thanks mom, thanks Sam." They share another hug, and then the two teens take their leave, Lincoln goes over to see who's the first act, and why they're playing the song that his friends from Great Lakes City loves.

(Talent show montage.)

The first one to perform are Emma, Chloe, Joy, Kat and Cookie and they do the dance of 12 is Midnight, and they're also dressed like them.

Darrel has a cello and he performs the Swan Lake theme and this makes everyone cry.

Rusty does his performance once again, on the piano, and he still got those skills.

Giggles shows everyone that she can juggle more things than a normal clown would, ad some of the stuff she is juggling are tools from the school shed, and the principal is hoping she doesn't break them.

Flat Tire does some stunts on his bike and even passes through a flaming hoop with the help from Dennis and Patrick, and those two prepare a fire extinguisher and medical bag.

Then the next talent after that, they see Jenny, and she is blind folded as she begins to shoot arrows to the target, and there is something pinned to the target, and that someone is Mollie. Jenny doesn't even miss, she hit the apple on her head, and Mollie regrets this so much.

(End Montage.)

The crowd cheers and are also amazed at how talented the kids are on stage, and Jordan is now wondering where the heck Jenny learned that archery and why did Jenny pick Mollie for the apple target. Lincoln is also impressed, and also a bit freaked out.

The judges are at a loss for words from the talents and other stuff they do, and Principal Ramirez is wondering what the heck just happened. Then Meryl is on stage and she makes the announcement. "Alright ya'll, time for the final act, presenting, Lincoln Loud!"

Everyone cheers and claps, but it's Luna and Sam who seem to be cheering louder, and even Jordan. All three were there to see what Lincoln's song is and how amazing it sounds. The boy comes out from back stage, and he has his keyboard with him. The boy sits onto the stool that was placed by Meryl and he plays the tune.

Where was I when the rockets came to life
and carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead.
I'm never letting go, I'm never letting go!

Remember to breathe 'cause it'll take your breath away.
When the engines cough, and you blast off.
Ignite the night with a firecracker flash.

Remember to live 'cause you're gonna be thrilled to death.
When the stars collide, and your eyes grow wide.
Take it in with your breath against the glass.

Remember to dream 'cause it's gonna be a starry night.
Over every town, as you look down.
So harmonize with the singing satellites.

And remember to scream 'cause you're gonna be lost for words.
When the sparks erupt, and they light you up.
Dip your toes in the galaxy 'cause it's yours to explore tonight.

Where was I when the rockets came to life
and carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead.
I'm never letting go, I'm never letting go!

Roller-coaster through the atmosphere.
I'm drowning in this starry serenade.
Where ecstasy becomes cavalier.
My imagination's taking me away.

Reverie whisper in my ear.
I'm scared to death that I'll never be afraid.
Roller-coaster through the atmosphere.
My imagination's taking me away.

Let's hear it for the Universe.
Where it never hurts, diving in head-first.
Take a taste of the melting Milky Way.

And remember to laugh 'cause you're living in a crazy world.
Where you'll never guess, what could happen next?
Give the outer limits my regards as you float to fly away.

Where was I when the rockets came to life
and carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead.
I'm never letting go, I'm never letting go!

Where was I when the rockets came to life
and carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead.
I'm never letting go, I'm never letting go!

The Alligator sky.
The Alligator sky.
The Alligator sky.
The Alligator sky.

The Alligator Sky.

Lincoln finishes and he takes a bow as everyone cheers and claps at his performance, and even Luna and Sam are amazed at the song he made. "Wow. He made that? Well, sure does sound awesome" said Sam. "Linc is one talented kid, and he had a dang good teacher too."

Luna has no words to speak, and she sheds some tears and smiles at her son showing his best and finest. 'That's my boy. You already made me proud, son and I will always be proud of what you try to do to show what your talents can bring forth.'

Lincoln remains on stage, and then Meryl gets there and has a microphone. "Alright ya'll, the rest of te contestants come on stage." The other contestants: Giggles, Darrel, Rusty, Flat Tire, Jenny, Emma, Chloe, Joy, Kat and Cookie get onto the stage and they all get ready to hear who won the talent show.

Meryl then sees the Principal is talking with Ms. Salter and Ms. Palm. Then the principal makes the announcement and she has a microphone. "Alright, so we talked about it and we have a winner… Lincoln Loud!"

The boy is surprised, and everyone claps and cheers for him, and even the other contestants cheer and congratulate Lincoln, the boy is at a loss for words, and then he goes to the center of the stage and he sees everyone cheering for him, and this makes him smile.

Then Luna and Sam race onto the stage and they hug the boy, and he returns the embrace. "You did it, Lincoln!"

Lincoln has tears in his eyes and he is happy at this moment, and not just because he won the one year free lunch to a local restaurant, but because he was able to show that his musical talent won him something, and made his mother and Sam proud.

Jordan claps and she wipes away a tear as she sees this moment and then she realizes. 'Lincoln is good with this, and what if he does compete in an actual musical competition? Chances he might win, but that's his choice to make. For now, congratulations, Linc.'

To be continued…

A/N: Lincoln still has the singing talent that he learned from his mother, Luna, and this time, he does win the talent show. Looks like they got themselves some free lunch for a year, and tomorrow's chapter is time for Tales from the Crypt. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
