Hi guys Azza here!
Quick thing before we go any further, massive thing at the latter half of the chapter so please read the whole Servant Profile if you are interested since it is technically part of the chapter!
Also, no spoilers but I'd just like to say that I basically fully predicted Lostbelt 6 with the exception of the new Class. You'll see what I mean with the Servant revealed in this Chapter but it just blows my mind how I thought of adding these Servants here and Nasu is like yeah fam I'm on it!
Hopefully my versions can live up to his tho!
Ok onto the reviews!
NPrime – Honestly I don't have much time as it is to just start a whole new long series but honestly I'd want to wait until Black Clover had a massive amount of content. I'm aware the manga is decently long now but it honestly isn't long enough to have enough for me to play around with just yet.
That being said eventually I likely will include Black Clover but for now I just don't really want to because I've got enough trouble managing what I've got on my plate.
Dragonborn2704 – Well you can have a Servant Intro THIS chapter, just not Whitebeard lol!
And honestly that's not something I've thought about to be honest and its definitely an interesting idea I might look at down the line.
Susano'o Chaos – Mate we were crazy two volumes ago!
Demigodninja21 – I'm aware, I'm actually rolling with exactly that with my version of the Bleach verse. The whole flashback thing was more Kenpachi coming to terms with her no longer physically being there like before.
Anyway on with the story!
I do not own Fairy Tail, One Piece or the Nasuverse.
The Plan To Reach The Plaza
/Marineford Bay/
The sound of Whitebeard and his allies roaring, advancing on the attack once again, was nearly deafening as tens of thousands of ground troops smashed right into the shocked lines of the World Government forces.
Natsu was shocked that Whitebeard had so easily managed to turn the entire situation around. Though he found the man getting stabbed by a low tier fighter like Squard confusing, he did understand why the older man had forgiven him. The World Government were doing what they always seemed to do.
Playing dirty.
"Man … I really wish Whitebeard hadn't done that," Aokiji sighed as he fired a barrage of Ice Pheasants in Natsu's direction. "It would've made this whole mess so much easier to clean up."
"You really are stupid if you thought that trying to turn Whitebeard's family against him was a good idea," Natsu scoffed in response as he vanished just in time to avoid the attack, the Ice Pheasant's slamming into one of the rampart walls and shattering. "Even if you'd managed to convince a few, he still had Eden's armies at his back!"
"True. But they wouldn't have been enough to defeat us," Aokiji countered as he created a sword made of Ice, coated it in Armament Haki, and charged toward Natsu. "We have a rather solid line up, wouldn't you agree?"
As Natsu partially drew the War Titan's Sword from its sheath, he knew he couldn't refute Aokiji's statement. As far as the line-up went, the World Government did have quite a serious set of fighters on their side as well. From Tiberius and his squad, the Generals, Admirals and Warlords … Indeed, this would be a tough battle regardless of who actually pulled out or not.
Natsu was about to fully draw his blade only for Aokiji to suddenly back off. His confusion lasted less than a moment however as he felt the entire area begin to shake as a Giant started sprinting out onto the ice shelf.
"The hell is that idiot doing, he'll shatter the whole bay!?"
"Look Natsu, the World Government troops are starting to retreat back into the plaza," Ahnk pointed out which prompted Natsu to project his attention toward the outer walls.
"Father, I believe the World Government plans to melt the ice shelf in the bay and trap everyone in the water. There are dozens of enemy Devil Fruit Users in the bay at the moment, Whitebeard included, so it would make the most sense."
"Agreed," Natsu hummed in thought as his eyes scanned across the battlefield for Luffy. "Both of you, keep an eye on that situation since I've got to keep Luffy safe for the moment."
Both his tenants replied in the affirmative as Natsu vanished and reappeared a short distance from Luffy who was currently fending off several Captains with little difficulty. He was about to help him when the entire area seemed to grow darker.
"Look! The Vice Admiral is on the move," a Marine shouted as Natsu spun around mid-kick to get a better look at what was going on.
The same Giant that had leapt into the bay was now right near him, blade raised up to strike at the various allied forces who had little in the way of defending from something that strong and large.
"Shit! Everyone fall back," one of the Knights cried as the larger Phalanx Division moved to intercept the Vice Admiral.
"That's the Navy Vice Admiral, John Giant!"
And what a Giant he was. Not as large as Little Oars Junior, but still hundreds of times larger than a regular human with the ability to move swiftly. Every step John Giant took cleared entire sections of the bay as the Giant raised his sword high into the air.
"I won't let you reach the plaza, Whitebeard Pirates," John Giant roared as he swung his blade down violently to slice a giant fissure into the ice and kill dozens of troops down below.
John Giant roared as he ruthlessly mowed down several Phalanx Divisions along with the troops they were shielding, sending large chunks of ice and body parts flying off in all directions. His constant hacking and slashing had landed him in front of one opponent who was ready for him however, as he raised his blade high above his head and gripped it with both hands.
"HAAARGH!"
Bringing his sword down, John Giant was matched by Whitebeard himself who blocked using his naginata with only one arm. John Giant grit his teeth and tried to apply more pressure however it was obvious that Whitebeard wasn't even straining under the immense power of the Giant Vice Admiral.
"You're in our way," was all Whitebeard said before suddenly pushing upward with so much force that John Giant was staggered, his sword and arms now high above his head as he stumbled backward in shock.
Meanwhile, the moment the two weapons lost contact, Whitebeard let go of his lance and looked up at John Giant with a mere frown. Nodding once, his muscles began to bulge and the man grabbed onto the air in front of him with both hands as if there were an invisible sheet out in front of him.
The muscles in his upper body bulged as he seemed to grab the air tightly before gritting his teeth and pulled downward sharply. Then, it happened.
Natsu was shocked as everything was suddenly upside down before being upright again in less than a second. But just as he thought it was a trick, he was upside down and back again. This happened dozens of times as everyone in Marineford started to stumble and fall over.
"My balance," John Giant gasped as he was somewhat stuck in midair in a constant spinning motion.
"What the fuck is going on," Natsu gasped as he shot out tendrils from his left arm and leg and attached himself to the ground. "The hell did Whitebeard just do!?"
"Unbelievable," Ahnkseram muttered, clearly just as in shock as Natsu was. "What power …"
"What is it Ahnk, what's going on!?"
"Father … I would suggest viewing Marineford from up above," Aava said quietly as Natsu closed his eyes and viewed the battle from above.
"What …"
Reopening his eyes properly, now that he'd gotten a good idea as to what Whitebeard had done, the entire strange phenomenon made complete sense. The ground he'd attached himself to in order to maintain some semblance of normalcy wouldn't help him, if anything it only blinded him to what Whitebeard had truly done.
The entire area shook violently as Natsu detached himself from the ground and allowed himself to float. What was once the ground was now the right wall and where they ground once sat was the sea as the entire island was completely flipped around like someone tossing a coin.
All around Marineford, the seas too were being sent spinning with entire sections becoming detached and sent airborne. The kind of power being used by Whitebeard truly did cement his title as the World's Strongest Man.
The Man Who Could Destroy The World.
As everything came crashing back down, it set of a chain reaction of even more violent earthquakes as the seas smashed into each other and struck the island, washing away thousands of World Government forces in the process.
"Such power … and yet such control," Natsu gasped as he landed back onto what was once more solid ground. "He didn't even harm a single one of his own allies despite using such a destructive area of effect attack!"
Looking over at Whitebeard, the man stood tall whilst holding his naginata in its usual position as he faced down John Giant who had been brought to his knees. The Giant panted heavily, clearly disoriented by the attack as he looked over at his enemy.
"What awesome power," John Giant panted as he slowly stumbled to his feet. "To think that you could do something like that so easily …"
Whitebeard said nothing as the Giant got back onto his feet and picked up his sword, knowing full well that it was futile to even bother.
"But even so … The Absolute Justice of the World Government is at stake," John Giant roared as he raised the blade high above his head once more. "I can't just let you pass!"
John Giant roared as he started to bring the blade back down upon Whitebeard's position yet again, using the exact same attack as last time. Whitebeard sighed and shook his head before suddenly leaping right up into John Giant's face in a matter of moments, his fist cocked back and his Quake Quake power coating it.
"Quake Quake: Severe Earthquake!"
John Giant was completely caught off guard as Whitebeard punched the air directly in front of his face. The Vice Admiral was frozen in place for several moments until his upper body lurched back before exploding, sending blood and gore flying back across his former allies as a powerful shockwave erupted from his now falling corpse.
The shockwave ripped through the area and was easily as large as John Giant himself. It couldn't be impeded by anything and easily smashed through the outer rampart walls until it struck the Magic Barrier that Natsu had been unable to get through upon his arrival.
Whitebeard narrowed his eyes as his attack struck it and was somehow split in half, veering off left and right out toward the seas. Where it had made impact, it had left a large crack in the barrier however he then noticed that it may have actually been able to blow right through, if not for …
"O-oi, look!"
Standing right behind the barrier were the three Admirals, all with both arms extended outward. Using their combined Haki, they managed to halt the attack with the assistance of the barrier.
"That's insane," Natsu muttered to himself as he processed what had just happened.
"Guess Shanks really wasn't lying when he said these other Emperors could have easily been the Devil Representatives of this world," Ahnk hummed thoughtfully as he too digested the recent events.
As they pondered Whitebeard's power, walls started shooting up in front of the battered ramparts, blocking them off and blasting back the allied forces that had managed to get in close. As they rose, it gave Aava's idea as to the World Government's plan more credit since most of the World Government forces had retreated from the bay and were now up on the walls or in the plaza itself.
The only wall that hadn't risen however was the one that was being blocked by the body of Little Oars Junior, his weight simply too much for the slider to push past which left them an opening.
Up on the execution platform, the three leaders pondered the dilemma of Oars' body as Akainu appeared before them.
"The walls aren't raised in their entirety it seems?"
"No," Sengoku hummed in response as he looked down at the small hole.
"Even so, it would be a serious misstep not to continue with the operation regardless Akainu," Rider hummed as he nodded toward the Admiral. "Proceed as planned, we only have one chance."
"Understood," Akainu nodded as he turned around and vanished, reappearing on a section of the rampart walls far from where Leonidas and Ruler were battling so he wouldn't be interrupted. "This should cripple them … Magma Magma: Meteor Volcano!"
"And there it is …"
"Damn it," Natsu hissed as he looked over toward Whitebeard who didn't seem overly concerned by what Akainu was doing. "He must have predicted it too …"
Looking up at the sky once again, Natsu couldn't help but be impressed by the sheer scale of Akainu's attack as thousands of giant magma fists started to rain down from the skies above. The fists smashed into the frozen bay, sending thousands of allied forces flying with each impact.
"Lord Natsu!"
Snapping his attention away from the skies, he looked over at Sir Gawain who had appeared before him, the Knight Of The Round not sporting so much as a scratch on him despite all the fierce fighting he'd taken part in so far.
"Sir Gawain?"
"Indeed, I am glad you remember me," the Knight Of The Sun grinned before shaking his head. "Ah, that can wait! We must move to secure a route to the Execution Plaza for the allied forces, I would ask for your assistance in this!"
"Indeed! With the aid of Lord Natsu we should be able to punch through!"
"Sir Lancelot, good to see you here," Natsu nodded lightly before humming in thought. "I swear I saw Artoria here earlier, aren't you going to request the aid of your King instead of me?"
"Our King was the one who suggested we seek your aid," Gawain replied as several fists impacted the area around them, forcing them to begin running whilst talking. "Our King wishes for your aid as part of our emergency stratagem!"
"Whatever it is, consider it done," Natsu replied quickly as the trio skidded to a sudden stop in order to avoid a magma fist. "Bloody hell!"
"We don't have much time," Lancelot growled as power exploded from his body. "Come, we must make haste to the rampart walls!"
Natsu nodded as the pair took off toward the walls, blitzing past the attacks as they came crashing down upon the bay. The ice had mostly been melted in a matter of minutes however a loud cry prompted Natsu to slow his pace slightly and look back over his shoulder.
"NO!"
"THE MOBY DICK TOOK A DIRECT HIT!"
"WE'VE GOTTA PUT OUT THE FIRE!"
It was pretty obvious why the Whitebeard Pirates were so distressed as their Captain's flagship was fully set ablaze and rapidly sinking into the now boiling depths of Marineford's bay. He could hear the crew members crying out in horror however it was obvious there was no saving it.
"There will be no safe haven for you lot," Sengoku shouted over the PA system. "This is the end of this war!"
"To the depths with the lot of you," Rider added as the barrage of cannons and machine gun fire started raining down upon the still disorganized forces.
"To the depths? Do you really think this will be enough to break our fighting spirit," Whitebeard snapped back in defiance as he cocked back his right fist and punched the air in front of him, cracking the air as a powerful shockwave ripped right through everything in its path.
The attack travelled all the way to the newly reinforced rampart walls and struck home. The forces all along the wall were blasted back however, to the shock of everyone, the attack failed to actually destroy the wall.
"Sea Stone," Caster mused as he appeared right next to Whitebeard. "What do you suggest we do now my friend?"
"Don't worry about it, Caster," Iskandar grinned as he appeared on the opposite side of the Emperor Of The Sea. "This is only a minor setback!"
"Truly?"
Iskandar simply grinned in response and motioned toward the one spot of the rampart wall where Little Oars Junior's body had prevented the reinforced wall from rising. Caster's eyes widened ever so slightly when he saw the force currently approaching it.
"Oh … I see."
/Artoria's POV/
The King Of Knights tore through the weak forces trying to impede her progress, Excalibur slicing through their feeble weapons like butter and her armor easily deflecting any ranged projectile put against it.
The moment Akainu had begun to freeze the bay, she knew that failure to reach the Execution Plaza would lead to heavy casualties for the alliance and so, she quickly formulated several possible counterattack stratagems whilst charging to find the Knights on the ground with her.
The plan was bold, but with the aid of the Round, it would almost certainly work. The body of Little Oars Junior had left but one glaring weakness in the enemy's otherwise solid defence and it was a weakness that could easily be exploited.
Dashing forward, she raised her right wrist to reveal a small Transponder Snail attached to her arm like a watch. Gently tapping its body once, the snail flared to life.
"This is Artoria Pendragon, come in Lieutenant Commander Lancaster!"
"This is Lancaster, how may The Britannia be of aid my King!"
"The barrage from Admiral Sakazuki is severely hindering troop movements, requesting fire support on the rampart walls from both The Britannia and The Cypritine Jewel!"
"Relaying orders my King," Lancaster replied sharply as the roar of cannon fire and subsequent explosions moments after signalled the success. "Shall I get a hold of-?"
"Please do, there will likely be no ice left to stand on in a few minutes and there will be many of both Whitebeard and our own forces left to the mercy of the enemy down here," Artoria replied as another barrage smashed the top of the rampart walls. "I'm also requesting the advancement of Rider and his forces!"
"Time?"
"Ten minutes. The King Of Conquerors is sticking with Whitebeard for the moment which means we'll need Rider to move up with the combined forces of both himself and Assassin."
"I'll relay the order my King," Lancaster replied as Artoria cut the connection just in time to slide up next to Gawain and Lancelot.
"My King, we are prepared to execute the plan," Gawain shouted over the gunfire prompting Artoria to dip her head slightly in response.
"What of Sir Tristan?"
"Protecting Master Ritsuka!"
"Ah, understandable," Artoria replied as she looked beyond the gap to see Tiberius and his squad. "Several more of the Round are set to arrive soon along with Rider and Assassin, we must make haste!"
"Gawain shall take the lead my King, allow me to have your back," Lancelot said sharply whilst slicing a cannon blast clean in two that was heading their way.
"A wise decision, take point Sir Gawain!"
"As you command, my King," Gawain replied as he entered an offensive stance, holding his blade out to his right. "FOR EDEN, FOR MY LEIGE!"
Gawain vanished, a monstrous pressure shattering the place he'd once been as he shot off toward the body of Oars Junior with the Knight Of The Sun simply clearing the considerable distance between the two points almost instantaneously.
"Shit, Gawain is inbound," one of the Soldiers behind Oars shouted. "OPEN FIRE!"
"You heard the Major, attack!"
The Soldiers and Marines that had massed at the gap started firing at Gawain who had come to a complete stop just before Oars' body, the bullets, cannon blasts and even magma fists from Akainu's Meteor Volcano doing zero damage whatsoever.
"IT'S NO USE SIR, WE CAN'T EVEN SCRATCH HIM!"
"Of course you can't," Gawain laughed as his sword started to glow a bright golden hue. "So long as the Sun shines down upon me, victory is but a certainty! I am Sir Gawain, Knight Of The Sun and the man chosen by King Arthur to wield the Divine Sword Excalibur Galatine, the Resurrected Sword Of Promised Victory. By the will of my King and the cry of the oppressed under your wicked regime, I shall not hesitate to render your armies to cinder through astral fire!"
The World Government forces watched in horror as Gawain's blade seemed to double in length, now over ten metres in length with the heat from its surface being felt almost a hundred feet away making them feel like they were on fire.
"This sword is the will of the Sun itself, let it's heat cleanse the soul of the impure as I carve a path of righteous fury through your vile rank!"
Gawain charged once again however this time he remained visible due to his sword quite literally extending as he moved, the tip of the blade remaining in place which lengthened it to an unbelievable size.
The moment he reached the section of the gap where the wall was meant to rise, Gawain leapt high into the air, bringing his blade up high above his head in the process. The light from its surface was now near blinding to look at, prompting everyone watching to shield their eyes.
"This sword represents the Sun, represents the light of the world … May the impure be cast out by the light of Promised Victory! Noble Phantasm Release – Excalibur Galatine!"
Bringing his blade downward in a vertical slashing motion, the entirety of Marineford shook violently as it seemingly struck the horrified troops defending the sole gap in their otherwise impenetrable wall.
However, Gawain was gritting his teeth.
An explosion went off at the point of impact, the entire area being blanketed by a thick cloud of smoke as lethal levels of heat that would kill any ordinary mortal being flooded out either side of the wall to kill hundreds instantly.
"This … I don't believe it!"
Gawain was shocked. Still high in the air with both arms fully applying their strength downward, he knew full well that he hadn't managed to strike the ground as he'd intended. Not only that, something was actually holding onto the extended Sunlight Flame coated enhanced blade with a powerful grip that adamantly refused to budge.
"Gawain," Artoria cried out, almost instantly noticing something wrong with the situation. "What's going on!?"
"My King, something held back my Noble Phantasm," Gawain replied, still in complete shock as he tried to pull his blade out of the smoke. "Not only that, I can neither move my blade nor dispel the flames that extend its length!"
"But that's impossible," Lancelot snapped in reply as he skidded to a stop next to Artoria. "The power of Excalibur Galatine is nearly on par with that of Excalibur itself!?"
"Could Grand Avenger have made his move," Artoria muttered to herself softly as he looked downward to the smoke. "If so …"
It was then, as Artoria looked down at the smoke, that she began to feel the first inkling of true concern. The smoke that had previously been billowing out from the point of impact had begun to slowly drift in a clockwise motion, the speed increasing at a moderate pace.
"My King …"
Artoria watched as the smoke picked up speed until powerful gusts of wind shot out in all directions, blasting back anyone that wasn't a powerful living being or a Servant. And through it all, Gawain was still stuck high in the air to watch the eye of the storm with his mouth completely agape at what he was seeing.
The smoke quickly began to shrink into what appeared to be a miniature tornado that was centred around the point of impact, still completely obscuring it from view. Several minutes of this strange behaviour followed before the top of the smoke tornado began to shrink downward and the first words from within were heard.
Is that the best you could do after all these years?
It was these words that shook Artoria to her core. That voice, the familiarity with Sir Gawain's attack and the exact way the question was voiced …
"No …"
"It can't be," Gawain snapped as he dispelled his helmet. "HOW CAN YOU BE HERE!?"
Sir Gawain, so devoutly loyal to the false King of Camelot that he is a paradoxical constant. Knight Of The Sun, yet so utterly BLIND to the truth.
"To think that someone like him could be summoned to fight against us," Lancelot muttered as the last of the smoke seemed to vanish, the slivers that remained filtering right into the body of the newest Warlord Of The Sea, Berserker.
Berserker stood tall, the extended length of Excalibur Galatine firmly within his grasp as his black armoured form started to shimmer. With ease, he tossed Gawain's attack and the Knight away as the Knight Of The Sun crashed into the boiling water of the bay behind the group.
"Gawain!"
"Artoria …"
"You vile fiend," Artoria hissed as she dispelled her helmet, her fearsome glare poised directly at the heavily armoured foe. "How dare you-!"
"How dare I," Berserker muttered as his armor seemed to break down, the size of the Servant slowly decreasing until he stood just a head taller than Artoria. "If daring to defy the sheer madness that was your decimation of a Golden Age is something that upsets you … I dare indeed."
Taking a step forward, the armor fell away like a cloth being stripped away, revealing the true form of the Berserker Class Servant who, despite being a Berserker, looked eerily calm.
"It has been quite some time since we last met, my 'beloved' Niece …"
"Unbelievable," was all Sir Lancelot could mumble as they were now faced with a man none of them had ever hoped to meet again.
The man held a gaunt appearance, dark bags beneath his cold, dead eyes and a deathly gaze that seemingly held no malice. The man had shaggy faded blonde hair, slight stubble around his face and teeth that looked anything but human, as sharp as those of a beast.
The man wore typical robes of royalty, yet they were tarnished by dried blood and a foul black substance that constantly wafted from the very fabric, tainting the air around him. The strange black substance seemed to be part of the man himself however with it travelling around his body at a sedate pace.
The man laughed in a dead tone, not even the slightest glimmer of light to be found as he extended his arms outward to Artoria. Both she and Lancelot were shocked to see the black substance flow up his body, through his hair and pool atop his head, forming an identical duplicate of Artoria's own crown.
The crown was certainly the same, yet also clearly different. Where Artoria's shone a bright golden colour, this one was so badly faded it may as well have been black. The crown was also heavily damaged with points on it missing and its base cracked beyond repair.
At the centre of the crown the black substance pooled into a miniature ball, wriggling and writhing away as the man took another step forward.
"Do you see now, dear Niece … THIS is what your Father feared for all those years," Berserker laughed in the same dead tone. "This … I have always been the bane of Camelot and yet … where was my Brother in the end as it all came crashing down? At the end, who ultimately survived the destruction and devastation of our beloved Britain? Not his vaunted and brave Knights, not the pompous Aristocracy, nor the overtaxed servants of his expansive castle. No, it was we … MAGIC WIELDERS, THEY WHO WOULD DARE TO DREAM, TO DESIRE THE AGE OF FANTASY FOREVERMORE!"
"It had to end," Artoria muttered quietly as she slowly looked into the eyes of the Servant before her. "The Age Of Fantasy And Fae was always destined to end with their retreat to the reverse side of existence. It was foretold well before my ascension to the Throne, not just by Merlin, but by Vivian, the great Dragon Albion and many more of the old beasts of legend."
"Had to end," Berserker questioned as he clenched his fists tightly. "You know why it had to end and it was due to the folly of mortal men! I will not rest until I right the wrongs committed by Humans Artoria, I shall become the King Camelot truly needed!"
"As deluded as ever," Artoria sighed as she gripped Excalibur a little tighter. "I will not hesitate to do everything in my power to eliminate you here!"
"Just try it," Berserker replied as the black substance ball seemed to lose whatever held it in place, the entire body of Berserker being enveloped in seconds as the Servant re-entered his armoured form. "This time, there will be no escape for you or that dastardly light!"
"Sir Lancelot," Artoria said neutrally as she heard Gawain shoot out of the water behind her, landing on the ground next to her with a loud THUNK of his armor. "Sir Gawain …"
"We are ready to serve my King," Lancelot replied sharply as he readied his own blade. "Not even this vile beast will be enough to stop our advance!"
"Then let us make haste, our allies are counting on us to succeed!"
The three all pointed their blades at Berserker who simply laughed the same hollow way as before, only this time it was echoing all around them.
"So, you have chosen your own obliteration … I shall be sure to savour the last drop of Light I drain from those blades of yours!"
/Elsewhere In Marineford/
"Sir Tristan, Sir Tristan," Mash called out worriedly as she shook the completely frozen Knight roughly. "Snap out of it Sir Tristan!"
"What happened to him Da Vinci, he's completely out of it," Ritsuka cried worriedly, having never seen the Servant look so frightened.
"Clearly the Servant that Artoria, Lancelot and Gawain have encountered is one that holds a deep history with the Knights Of The Round, and by extension Arthurian Legend," the Caster replied as she was heard typing away furiously on a keyboard. "Let's see just who he was, the moment he took off that armor we got a read on his true identity!"
"Who is he," both Ritsuka and Mash asked, both curious and rather scared as they heard Da Vinci nearly choke on whatever she'd been drinking. "Da Vinci!"
"N-NO WAY … THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT!? THERE'S JUST NO WAY SOMEONE LIKE HIM COULD HAVE BEEN SUMMONED HERE!"
"Da Vinci … What is Berserker's True Name," Ritsuka asked slowly as the sound of slow keystrokes reached his ears.
"Sending you the file now …"
Ritsuka and mash both looked down at the small projection as a sheet appeared, and turned whiter than sheets.
"No way …"

Servant Biography:
Vortigern Pendragon, a name any familiar with the Tale Of King Arthur would know all too well, was the Brother of Uther Pendragon and Uncle to both Artoria Pendragon and Morgan Le Fay.
Vortigern was a powerful Warlock who served as Court Mage during the reign of Uther until the battle of Norwich, Circa 517 AD, where a coalition of rogue Mages banded together to attempt a revolution against the Pendragon Monarchy.
Following the failed attempt, Uther declared any and all use of Magecraft an offense, punishable by immediate execution. In an attempt to convince King Uther that he was going too far, Vortigern accidently wounded his Brother in what was meant to be a peaceful demonstration of Magecraft, forcing the now wanted man to flee Camelot in exile.
In an effort to avoid being slain by the Knights dispatched by his Brother, Vortigern fled to Northumbria, specifically the uncharted lands of Sherwood Forest and lived as a hermit for some time.
Vortigern would not surface again until around 522 AD where he would emerge from his exile a changed man. No longer was Vortigern content with a passive response to those dispatched by his Brother to kill or capture him, now he was responding with lethal force.
During one of Uther's many campaigns against the French, Vortigern single handedly struck a regiment of Knights and slew them to the last. Using absurdly powerful Magic, the likes of which none in Britannia had yet witnessed, Vortigern utterly obliterated the regiment and the subsequent regiment sent to slay him for his crimes.
Upon discovering that Vortigern had emerged once more, Uther personally led an army of five hundred of his most loyal and devout Knights to finally put an end to his seemingly mad Brother.
The two Brothers met on a hill near the province of Grantebridgescire, agreeing to face each other alone after several weeks of back-and-forth messages via raven.
Vortigern arrived alone, garbed in little more than the scavenged garments he'd looted from the Knights he'd slain earlier as Uther arrived donning full armor and his crown atop his head.
The two Brothers spoke cordially for several minutes with Vortigern pleading for his Brother to see reason one last time. His pleas however fell upon deaf ears as Uther had secretly planned to surround the meeting spot with his army.
Upon realizing the treachery of his Brother, Vortigern was said to have wailed loudly, proclaiming that if slaying his Brother would save those born with the gift of True Magic, then he could not reasonably hesitate.
Uther laughed, pointing out that even despite Vortigern's strength that he was vastly outnumbered. However, this is where Uther had made a fatal mistake.
His attempted genocide of those who wielded Magic had turned the entire Magical Community against him and his reign for real and so, as Uther ordered his men to attack his Brother, they were set upon by hundreds of Magic Users who had used their powers to blend with the environment.
Uther's forces, ill equipped to deal with an army of Magic Users, were slain to the last, with the defiant King cursing his Brother and Magic. Vortigern looked down at his Brother and with but a moment's hesitation, struck him down with a dark curse.
With the death of King Uther Pendragon, Britannia was thrown into disarray as it was without a true King and leader. Initially, Vortigern refused to take the throne, citing that as the one who committed Regicide, that he was ill suited for the role and that it should go to one who would not bear such sins.
However, in 524 AD, a teenager by the name of Artoria would stake a powerful claim upon the throne. Artoria had managed to pull the fabled sword Caliburn from its eternal vigil. As the stories dictate, they who pulls the sword from the stone would become a King so great they would lead Britannia to a fabled 'Golden Age' unlike any other.
Upon hearing the news, Vortigern was deeply concerned.
He too had known of the sword Caliburn and the legend behind it. However, he also knew of the Wizard Merlin and knew that anything involving the man was set to crumble to ruin. Upon hearing that Artoria was the child of Uther, Vortigern's fears spurned him into a sporadic bid for the throne.
But it was far too late.
Artoria Pendragon was coronated merely days after pulling Caliburn from the stone and had already gone about making sudden and drastic changes to the kingdom as a whole.
From this point onward, Vortigern's sanity began to decline.
Initially, he tried appealing to any who would listen about the folly of allowing a child upon the throne, yet none listened. Vortigern's fight against the tyranny of Uther had earned him the respect of many, but he was considered a remnant of the old guard and subsequently ignored by the common folk.
Years would pass and Britannia would flourish into its 'Golden Age' just as foretold, and all the while Vortigern toiled away in an attempt to remove Artoria from the throne of Camelot.
It was during 532 AD that Vortigern truly passed the point of no return as he deemed Britannia a lost cause and instead sought to remove Artoria and her newly founded 'Knights Of The Round Table' from power.
By this point, Vortigern's power had grown far beyond almost any other Mage of the time and using said power he began to experiment.
It was during this period that Vortigern would consume the blood from the fabled 'White Dragon' which was said to be the entity destined to bring Britannia to ruin. The power of the Dragon, combined with his already monstrous Magic, twisted Vortigern into the Vile King.
This moment is considered the point Vortigern Pendragon ceased to exist and Vortigern The Usurper was born.
Using his unrivalled power, Vortigern re-emerged onto the stage once more however this time he came bearing a terrible Darkness that swallowed everything within its confines. Entire sections of Britannia were taken and plunged into the black substance with tens of thousands dying as a result.
In addition, those who were dead, be they recent or ancient, were brought back to fight using Necromancy as Vortigern expertly wielded his power that had once united the Magic Users of Britannia.
Seeing the dire threat to her Kingdom, Artoria set out with her Knights Of The Round to confront the threat of her Uncle with the Mage Of Flowers, Merlin, at her side.
The forces of Vortigern clashed with Artoria and her small army and were subsequently brushed aside as Excalibur's Light purged them from her lands.
Confident in their ability to put an end to the Darkness of Vortigern, Artoria and her allies reached the seat of Vortigern's new Empire Of Darkness, a fortress city built upon the ruins of Londinium.
It was the trio of Artoria, Sir Gawain and Merlin that reached the throne room of Vortigern and upon their arrival, they were met with a horrifying visage.
The once proud man who had stood up for the rights of all Magic Users was now a horrific beast, a Draconic Humanoid with armor so black it appeared to be a hole in the fabric of the world itself.
The trio did battle with Vortigern however, his rage and despair had grown and melded with his power to the point that it utterly overwhelmed the Light of Excalibur and Excalibur Galatine. Even the mighty power of Merlin was crushed under the sheer weight of the Phantasmal Beast before them.
It was this moment that Artoria ascended and cemented her legacy.
Using the last scraps of his power, Merlin bestowed upon Artoria what he described as the 'Dying Breath Of Fantasy' which was in actuality the Holy Lance Rhongomyniad.
The lance, being an artifact designed to be the 'Tower Of Light That Anchors The World' that prevents the Age Of Men from regressing back to the Age Of Gods, was more than what even Vortigern's unfathomable power could take.
Piercing her Uncle through the chest with Rhongomyniad, the Vile King was slain and let loose a shrieking roar as his blanket of Darkness was lifted, saving all of Britannia in the process.
Following Vortigern's death, Merlin was never seen again …
Servant Parameters (Berserker)
Strength – EX
Agility – A
Luck – C-
Endurance – EX
Mana – EX+++
Noble Phantasms:
The Veil Of Black – Armor Of The First Sin – EX (Passive)
An Armor that can be moulded into anything Vortigern desires, it most often takes the exact shape of the Armor worn by Uther Pendragon, albeit with variations depending on his form.
The Armor is a passive Noble Phantasm that acts according to the will of Vortigern, capable of reshaping itself to defend him from whatever foe he currently faces. Its durability is so great that it can endure the combined might of Excalibur and Excalibur Galatine without issue.
The Armor however holds one fatal flaw. Due to it acting to Vortigern's will, should his concentration falter for even a moment it may dispel which would result in his death.
"My Armor is nigh impenetrable, short of a blast that would destroy a planet you stand no chance! This Armor … I want you to carve it to memory, my rage … my DESPAIR!"
The Black Branch Of Sherwood – A (Anti Unit/Anti Knight)
Vortigern wields a black branch that stands as tall as he in his Armoured form. Half of the branch is carved into that of a staff with the lower half taking on the form of a sword.
The branch can be split and reattached at the centre in order to allow Vortigern to better combat his foes.
His Branch is a powerful Magical Focus that allows him to cast powerful Dark Magic however, should he lose the Branch then he loses access to his most powerful Magical Abilities.
"This is my beloved focus … I had nothing when I entered Sherwood yet I exited with what would be the only friend I'd have by my side at the end. From the moment I saw it, I just knew that this branch was meant to be by my side."
The Herald Of The End – Vortigern The White – EX (Anti Fortress/Anti World)
Once unleashed, Vortigern transforms into the White Dragon Of Legend that was said to be the harbinger of the end for all Anglo-Saxons. The form however is corrupted with the vile black sludge that is Vortigern's Darkness, making its White complexion appear 'dirty' and turning the front and hind legs into black and Aqua Blue amalgamations of the sludge.
In this form, Vortigern comes close to surpassing even the Gods and Devils themselves in terms of power and plunges everything into the same Darkness that once threatened to wipe away Britannia.
There are no downsides to this form. Vortigern here is truly the Harbinger In White.
"You would dare cling onto the dregs of humanity when true salvation is within arm's reach!? I shall not relent until I have torn the chains of man asunder and ushered in the return of the Age Of Mystery And Wonder … for I. Am. VORTIGERN!"
Class Skills:
Madness Enhancement – B
Increases attack power in exchange for the sanity of those bearing the Class Skill. Those with a B or lower variant of the skill are still capable of full cognitive functions however they are also easily prone to violence and can still fly into a rage if provoked.
Magic Resistance – A
Resistant to all forms of Magical attack. Those with a Rank A level of skill are able to face down powerful Magic Users with little fear save for those that bear skills specifically designed to defeat the entity that embodies the user.
In the case of Vortigern, due to being the embodiment of the 'White Dragon' those who bear the ability to slay Dragons can somewhat bypass this skill.
Dragon Heart – EX
Those bearing this skill are of Dragon kind. The skill provides the one bearing it at EX Rank with drastically increased reserves to the point that they are able to sustain themselves without a Master, nor do they require the aid of one should they run low as their Dragon Heart passively restores itself through the latent power in the environment.
Warlock Of The Black – EX
Those bearing this skill are able to fight using both swords and staves. At the EX-Rank, only those who have displayed mastery of the blade and staff can access it and it grants them nearly identical control as they had in life at zero cost to their Master.
In addition, this allows one summoned in a class not normally suited for the blade or Magic to use them as if they were part of the Caster or Saber Class, making this an extremely rare and powerful skill.
The Darkness Quashing Victory – EX
The only Servant capable of bearing this skill is Vortigern and it is what allows him to negate the Sword Of Promised Victory, Excalibur, in its entirety.
The sheer rage and hatred stored within Vortigern's blackened soul, combined with the power of the White Dragon of Anglo-Saxon legend had brought about a Darkness so potent that victory is forever beyond the grasp of mortal men leaving only those of Divine, Demonic or Primordial descent capable of penetrating the defence.
Personal Skills:
Shroud Of World's End – EX
A skill that drastically reduces the attack power of opponents, has a medium chance to stun and allows Vortigern's strikes to ignore all forms of Invincibility for five minutes.
Vile King's Pledge – A+
A skill that increases attack power, grants rapid regeneration and grants Vortigern the ability of Guts which allows him to survive a fatal blow, regardless of how fatal it would be.
Dreams Of The Reverse Side – B
A skill that grants Invincibility, guarantees the next single hit to deal massive critical damage and has a chance to manipulate those around Vortigern, turning them into low powered creatures found within the Reverse Side Of The World who fight for him.
So, hope you guys all enjoyed the chapter and the bonus Vortigern info. I'm deliberately not including Bond Level or Chaldea Character interaction stuff because a lot of the characters I'll do this for are heavy spoiler territory ones. I honestly regret doing it for some of the older characters since it technically does spoil stuff I have planned later on down the line but eh … we're here!
Anyway hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you in the next one!
