The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.
From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.
The Ruinverse: Chapter Fifteen, Project BKEN.

-Remnant, Sanus, Vale, Beacon Academy-
It was a calm day within the white and green clad castle, the many students walking down the halls to head towards their classes or the training halls to hone their skills in a simulated spar between teammates.
The chattering of students rang across the halls, each one intermingling with their own social circles of friends, loved ones or the occasional enemy, all the while the birds outside the school chirped their songs to the world without a care.
As the students went down the numerous hallways, looking like a sea of black shadows to the untrained eye, a figure walked down the hall with a very neutral body expression.
This figure was a tall fair skinned young woman with long brown hair going to her shoulders, brown eyes, long brown rabbit ears, a D cup chest and small ass, wearing a cropped brown jacket with gold cuffs, a thin black top, gold pauldrons, a gold belt with a large brown gold banded box attached to it, brown pants and thigh high black boots with a gold trim.
This was Velvet Scarlatina, the V of Team CFVY, and the only faunus of said team.
However, she seemed….off, for no other reason besides the fact that her body posture seemed...confident, not like before and some of the students were actually gossiping about this as she walked past them.
"Look at Scarlatina." said a student, obscured by shadows, to their equally shadowed teammates. "She really looks better today."
"Yeah, even her ears are perked up, not like three months ago."
"I wonder why?"
"No idea, but maybe she's going to stand up to Winchester?"
"Oh yeah, that might happen...or not. I mean she is the most nervous wreck of a faunus in the school." the shadowed student said while chuckling.
Velvet kept moving as her eyes seemed to blink sporadically, the screen becoming static as everything started to fade away in a light blue light.

-Unknown location-
FLASH!
Velvet groaned while a bright green light hit her eyes, her body seemingly unable to move as she regained her bearings.
Only to realize she was strapped to a white table in the middle of a white room, a thick glass window on the upper most part of the left side of the room, as a white hexagon with three lines on the right and lower left sides with a single 'M' in the center and three smaller dots on the lines, emblem was etched into every tile of the room.
She started to breathe heavily as an intercom system began to play somewhere in the room, her ears getting the blunt of the sudden introduction of loud noise as they twitched in pain.
"Welcome back from the land of dreams, I did hope that the anesthesia didn't affect your mentality too much upon transfer." said a voice, calm and rather polite despite the underlying tone of arrogance, from the intercom.
"Ah...ah?" Velvet croaked out while realizing her throat was swollen and unable to form a sentence.
"Don't worry, the effects of the anesthesia, including the temporary inaccessibility of creating vocalized sound, will wear off in the next forty-seven hours. Depending on the rate of your own survival that is. Now, just relax while we start the first test." the voice said as the walls opened up to reveal several large robotic hands, each one fitted with a long syringe like needle and a long narrow tube full of green ooze. "Activating Compound G-35.M."
Velvet panted in fear as the screen went black, although the sounds of automated robotic cogs could be heard along with a muffled scream of pain.
(End of flashback)
As the faunus continued to walk down the hallway, her ears moving from side to side every so often, her expression seemed to morph from neutral to mind anger as she moved past a few students.
However, as she touched some of the students, either by accident or purposely, a strange sense of malignant intent appeared in the minds of the now terrified teens, each one either shaking or feeling aggressive for no other reason at all.
"What's her deal?" growled one of the students as their eyes seemed to glow a faint red color. "Strutting around like she owns the place."
"I...I don't know." another student said nervously. "B-But...I don't want to be near her!"
Velvet turned a corner and kept on walking as her eyes twitched, the screen fading away in a light blue hue as her eyes blinked at erratic intervals.
(Flashback)
-Unknown location-
The faunus looked around in confusion as she was held within a small room, covered in Fire Dust crystals on the walls and sand beneath her feet, with the same window in the upper left corner of the ceiling, a locked door behind her and several red lights above her that continually made her body sweat and her throat parched.
"Experiment 90.2, Heat Resistance. You must be a lucky girl, having survived over eighty-nine tests." the voice said through the intercom systems. "But given your particular set of skills and semblance, that is to be expected."
"Please...just let me out."
"That I can not do. You agreed to the project and signed several life insurance waivers, until the trial period is over, you can not back away so easily."
Click.
Vooom Vooooom.
Velvet blinked in confusion before seeing the Fire Dust glowing brighter and bright as the heat increased ten fold.
"Activating Dust Core Generators, maximum temperature." the voice said as the screen became bright red, the sounds of Velvet's screams of pain being heard in the background.
(End of flashback)
The sun began to rise higher in the distance as Velvet walked down a hallway full of windows, her ears moving from side to side like antennae from a fly, her eyes staring at the cafeteria doors as her expression remained mildly angry for unknown reasons.
Pushing against the crowd of students, she opened the doors and looked around, seemingly for something or someone in particular as the echoes of idle chatter was filtered away by the brown rabbit ears.
"And I said, 'stupid faunus, you made me look bad!'." laughed a familiar voice as a certain team leader of Team CRDL sat with his team at the far left corner of the cafeteria, seemingly unaware of how they are acting like complete assholes to everyone else. "And that's how I pushed her into a toilet and watched her hair get pulled by the suction."
"Um, that might've hurt." Dove pointed out before getting glared at by his team.
"Don't even mention that stuff, the faunus asked for it!"
Velvet's eyes twitched along with her fingers as the screen became static and the color changed to a light blue hue.
(Flashback)
-Unknown location-
Blackness. No clear shapes or sounds could be seen as the voice chimed in via intercom, breaking the silence that once governed this umbra void.
"A success. A new life form has been established...however I might dare say that it worked too well. Such power from my own research concentrated upon a single faunus is unheard of before, although the results are more than justified for the endeavor." the voice said while small strobe lights lit up on the floor, revealing a figure standing right in the middle of the room, motionless and seemingly not breathing at all. "Capable of surviving the coldest climates, the deadly heat of a volcano, the deepists trenches of the oceans and possibly the vacuum of the upper atmosphere, this is one of my finest creations, second only to Compound G-35.M. However, one last test is required to prove the success of this project."
Creak.
A bright blue light formed behind the figure, forming a rectangular doorway that seemingly called out to the figure itself.
"Go ahead. You can leave, return to Mountain Glenn, then start a single mission. It's nothing too hard, just travel to Vale. Wait for further orders."
(End of flashback)
Velvet looked at Cardin, her face contorted with anger as she walked towards the table, her eyes glowing bright blue in the process.
"So anyway, I have another one that involves the rabbit." Cardin smirked while not seeing Velvet moving towards him, although his team saw and slowly moved a little away to avoid the now pissed off student's wrath. "Wait, what are you three doing?"
"Um I have um..homework." said Dove while running away along with Sky and Russel.
"Hey come back here!" Cardin yelled before getting poked on the left shoulder and turned around. "Wha...oh you! I was wondering where you went off, since your here time to pull those stupid ears!"
Velvet stared at the human with malice as her ears suddenly perked upwards and she raised her left hand towards his face.

"Eh? What-"
FLASH!
SQUISH!
In an instant, coated in a deep blue color, Cardin's face was rearranged, molecule by molecule, and melted into a thick red paste that dripped downwards onto the table as the body slumped to the ground, Velvet's hand glowing a deep blue as the students realized what just happened and screamed in horror.
"AHHH!"
"Murderer!"
Velvet turned her gaze towards the students before her hands blasted a blue beam of energy at the walls, melting them and covering many of the students in the process as she grabbed one of the student's heads with her right hand.
SQUISH!
"AHHH...a….a..." he cried out before his entire body turned into blue energy and was absorbed into Velvet's hands, her face full of hate as she continuously blasted or absorbed the environment around her in a precise manner.
WOOSH!
BAM!
ZAP!
As the screams continued to decrease in volume and quality, along with the walls, the screen began to fade out as a white hexagon with an 'M' in its center appeared and a familiar voice was heard.
[Go Project BKEN, kill Oz. Kill him and all he holds dear, make sure he suffers for turning his back on the God of the Grimm! Ha..ha...hahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!]

Semblance(s): Photographic Memory.
Bio: In this timeline, the life of one Velvet Scarlatina went on as normal in canon up until she was placed into Beacon, where the resident bully, Cardin Winchester, became more extreme with his methods, causing her to lose any shred of confidence she would normally have and to exist in a perpetual state of fear and terror for most of her first and second year. Desperate to regain her lost confidence and trying to keep this a secret from her team, she would hunt down or pay for classes or schemes that would help 'bring back confidence', only for many of them to be scams or terroristic anti-faunus societies. All seemed lost before she found a flyer for the then defunct company, Merlot Industries, involving a project designed to 'adapt to any situation', and thinking this meant confidence took the offer and traveled to Mountain Glenn, where she found the primary location and used the hotline to contact the mad scientist, who was surprised that someone would willingly go to that amount of effort for a nearly dead project. Taking this opportunity, Merlot offered her the chance to 'adapt' in exchange for her servitude, which Velvet agreed to, only to discover that she was to be experimented on to adapt to any situation imaginable in the hopes of creating the 'perfect organism'. Dubbed Project BKEN (Bionic. Killing machine. Emulated. Nihilism.) by Merlot, she was infused with various substances and Dust crystals to unlocked the ability to adapt to the harshest environments of Remnant, but it worked too well and gave her the ability to absorb and remake matter at will, at the cost of her positive emotions being shut down such as joy or happiness, giving her the unintended effect of projecting her negative emotions onto others. Released after three months of experimentation, she is released back to Beacon where Merlot, using subliminal messages via special wavelengths created by Merlot Industries to ensure perfect control, uses the huntress as an assassin to destroy both Ozpin and anyone else on the doctor's black list, killing Cardin and his allies in the slaughter as she is sent to other Kingdoms to carry out Merlot Industries' interests, much to her confusion and horror. A twisted way to boost confidence...isn't it?
