Chapter 485: Farming support.

(February 22. Honicutt Farms.)

Just another calm and normal day for the folks in Royal Woods, and thankfully school is closed for the day, and this means that the following are inbound for the local country area, where the Honicutt Farms are located.

A limo drives through the dirt roads, and is followed by a purple Ferrari, and the folks soon arrive and Liam Honicutt waits for them and waves to the group. The two vehicles stop and then park nearby, and then the group comes out and they look around the place.

The group: Lincoln, Luna, Sam, Leslie, Delilah, Clyde and Chloe, Tabby, Jordan of course, Hope, Gretchen, Regina, Chastity, Stella, Zach and Rusty.

The sight of this place is all too familiar for some. "Yup, reminds me of the Royal Woods Astonishing Quest" replied Luna.

Sam breathes in the air. "I love farms, they are so fresh and so peaceful and so calm. The sounds of the local farm animals going about their day, to the smell of fresh, manure and harvested produce."

Rusty then notices. "The manure sacks are over there, no surprises why we can smell them from here."

"Lighten up, Spokes" replied Delilah. "We're here to help a friend, and he can't handle this farming stick all by himself. After all, he's booked with chores and one big harvest."

"She is not wrong" replied Tabby. "There is a whole lot of major gaps in the harvest that need to be done, and Liam is the only one capable of handling the big and heavy duty ones, the ones that we cannot handle because we could get hurt in the process." They are all hoping they don't help with those heavy duty chores and work.

They then see Liam go towards them. "Good morning, ya'll. Glad you could all make it, and boy that is a whole lot of helping hands, this is all much appreciated guys, thanks."

Lincoln nods. "We're not gonna let you tackle these chores and harvest on your own. We're prepared to help, and this is also to make sure the town doesn't go into madness when the freshest of the fresh produce is not around, they need it a whole lot more than anything."

Luna then goes over. "So, what's on the agenda farm boy?"

Liam nods, and then he goes over and hands them a list of what to do. "Alright, gang. So, Tabby and I will be handling the harvest of the crops, and we're both gonna be driving the tractors for that job. Tabby here is good on the wheel of a tractor, so she's got the skills for the heavy work."

"So, Lincoln, Jordan, Luna and Sam will handle the milking in the Barn. Clyde, Chloe, Delilah and Leslie head to the Chicken coop and gather the eggs, and I mean all of the eggs. There are ten chicken coops. Zach, Gretchen and Hope take to the vegetable garden and get the harvest and be careful of them gophers, they can get real feisty when the harvest is upon us, then we have Chastity, Regina and Stella on wool harvest, and be cautious about the sheep. They like their wool untouched. Also, place these on what you harvested."

Liam hands them stickers, and they have the logo of their farm, Stella then reads them. "Honnicut Farms, fresher than a loofa-d pig."

Liam chuckles. "Dang right, the best way to know the different between them other produce from other place, and the stuff we got here on the farm, no preservatives added."

Rusty then asks. "What about me dude? What can I do to help out?"

Liam nods and smiles. "Well, from what memory serves, Rusty is good with the elderly folks because of his piano teacher. So, I need someone to keep my memaw occupied, you think you can do that, Rusty?"

Rusty then loses his smile, but then he sucks in some courage. "Bring it on, I think I can handle your memaw." He then heads off to the house of Liam, while the others all split up and head to their own jobs.

(The Barn.)

Lincoln, Luna, Jordan and Sam walk into the barn and they see the several cows inside, and this is something Luna has never done, but she can see her son seems determined to do this, and so they all go over and see the cows. Sam touches the cows on the side and pets them. "Easy girls, we're here to get the milk you ladies have."

Sam then looks around. "We need some hay bales. The best way for us to gain the trust from these cows, is to make sure they can see us as their good friends. Let's get rolling folks." They then look around and then Luna sees something.

"There, it is." Luna grabs the hay bales. "Wait, how many cows are here, again?"

Jordan goes through the list. "We got ten cows, so we need a lot of hay to keep them occupied. How many hay bales are there?"

Lincoln checks. "Oh boy, we only got five hay bales. Will this even work?"

Sam then thinks about this and then she has an idea. "The cows will need to share, come on guys." they all gather the five hay bales, with Sam carrying two and then they place them onto the ground and two cows eat on one hay bale and they are now calm. "There, let's get milking, but soon we're gonna need to get some more hay if we find some."

The others nod, and they all begin to milk the cows, but this could be a long while because it is just four of them, and there are ten bovines.

(The Chicken Coops.)

Delilah, Leslie, Clyde and Chloe walk around and see the chicken coops, and they can tell that the chickens are inside. "Well, let's go and get some eggs" said Clyde, but then Delilah stops him. "What the heck? Is something wrong?"

Delilah looks around. "We're being watched. The chickens know what we're up to, and so we need to be smart and we need to get the eggs, without angering the local poultry. From what might be known and heard of, if we take the eggs, then we're gonna be in deep dang trouble guys."

Leslie then has an idea. "Alright, so we need some chicken feed and this is gonna work, right? Where the heck is the chicken feed?"

Chloe then thinks of something. "I think we have something that can work, something Clyde and I made." She then goes through her bag and so does Clyde, and then they show the pies. "This is gonna work."

"Pies?" asked Delilah. "Is this gonna work?"

"For sure, and I trust what Chloe says, who doesn't like pie?" said Clyde. They all walk into the chicken coop, and each of them prepare for what is to come.

(The Vegetable Patch.)

At the vegetable patch or garden, this is where Gretchen, Hope and Zach are located, and Zach seems nervous. "You girls remember what Liam said about gophers being here and being all feisty hen the harvest is closing in, and that it is now?"

Hope nods. "We just need to... Gopher in the ground." They see the dirt moving and then coming out is one gopher and he does not look pleased, he begins to make squeaking sounds and he rants and rages over them being there.

This is something that doesn't seem to scare them, and the trio look to each other and then to the gopher, and so Gretchen uses the hoe and she knocks the gopher away and the small rodent lands in the fox trap and cannot escape, and it panics and tries to break it. "Well, that was easy."

Zach sighs in relief. "Awesome, now we can deal with this and no trouble." They all proceed to begin pulling out the vegetables and seeing which is ripe, but then the two girls see Zach having trouble with a turnip. "Dang it, how deep is this thing?!"

Gretchen and Hope then go over and they help Zach pull on the turnip and they are trying their hardest, but soon they manage to pull it out, but they stumble back and fall on their backs, they then see the turnip and are surprised. "We're gonna need some shovels, ASAP!" said Gretchen.

(The Sheep Pen.)

Stella looks at all the sheep, and so does Regina and Chastity. "Whoa. Now those are a lot of sheep" replied Stella, she then checks the list. "Says here the Honicutt farms has had more than 30 sheep and counting. Dang, that is a lot."

Regina then goes over and she pets the fluffy wool of the sheep. "This is so soft, and these sheep all look so fluffy and cute. A dang shame we gotta sheer they're wool. Anyone know where the sheers are?"

Hearing this alarms the sheep and they all panic around, and some of them scream like those screaming goat memes online, and the girls all try to calm down, and thankfully they closed the main gate, so they don't escape. But then Stella whistles and they all remain silent, and Regina and Chastity are on the back of some sheep.

Stella then calls out. "Alright, listen up. Now, I know you all don't wanna have your wool being sheared off, but I think we can be able to make this all worth your while and make sure that we get what we need, and you can all keep what you love, and yet look better than before."

All the sheep are so confused, and so they allow whatever plan Stella has, and the three girls all grab some sheers and then Chastity asks. "So, what the heck is the plan, Stella?"

(Later in the Day.)

Liam and Tabby return to the others and they are driving tractors that are pulling wagons filled with the fresh harvest of wheat. "Alright, ya'll. How did the harvest and everything else go down?"

Lincoln, Luna, Sam and Jordan go first. "Check them out, guys." They can see five wagons and each wagon is filled with 12 large cans filled with fresh cow's milk, and they have the sticker with the Honnicut brand.

Clyde, Chloe and Delilah and Leslie show them the eggs, eight baskets filled with so many eggs and then Leslie speaks. "The plan from Chloe worked like a dang charm, and the chickens traded us their eggs for some pie. I guess it is true, everyone loves pie!" all of them are eating a slice of chocolate pie.

Then Stella, and Regina and Chastity show them the stacks of wool they got. "We also made sure the sheep weren't left out." They spot the sheep in the field and they have been sheered with style, they kept some of their wool which has been retouched into something more stylish.

"They have never looked so fabulous before!" said Regina.

"Love the new do, sheep gals!" Chastity waves to them, and the sheep wave back.

Liam is impressed. "Wow. This turned out better than I ever imagined. Ya'll did an amazing and fantastic job, but what about the vegetables?" Zach, Hope and Gretchen show them the many baskets filled with so many vegetables. "Wow! Now that has got to be the biggest dang harvest I have ever seen!"

"Oh. Things are about to turn better." Hope, Gretchen and Zach head to the back of the barn and all three push the wagon, and sitting on it is a turnip, the size of Liam's tractor. "This big guy was not an easy pull, so we had to shovel around it."

Hope then speaks. "We even patched up the dirt and plowed it after digging, and we did you guys the favor and made sure we replanted some more new seeds, also we caught the gopher." She hands Tabby the cage with the now snoozing gopher. "Way too easy, this farm work is pretty awesome."

Liam is impressed, but then Memaw arrives, as she is wheeled by Rusty. "Well, I'll be dang! This turnip sure did grow well, with a lot of love! I can have this be part of the big turnip contest, and win it! You all did an amazing job, and I am impressed and Liam... You made the right choice accepting the help."

"In fact, for an amazing job with helping out. Everyone here is bringing home some of the stuff they harvested, free of charge, but only 5 percent of what was harvested." Everyone cheers, and then Rusty spins Memaw around so she can dance, but then she is sent riding away. "Red!"

All of them gasp seeing this. "I'm coming!" Rusty then chases after her. "Whatever you do, don't ruin those nails! I worked hard all morning making you look pretty!"

All of them are so confused. "What the heck did Rusty and Memaw do today?" asked Liam.
