The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.
From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.
The Ruinverse: Chapter Seventeen, Queen of Black Ice.

-Remnant, Solitas, Atlas, SDC/Atlasian Military Laboratory G-VI-
BAM!
BAM!
BOOM!
Gunfire rang through the metallic lined walls of the hidden laboratory as men and women screamed and ran for cover, the Atlasian Knights being destroyed by a group of intruders, seemingly with ease and without their sensors indicating their arrival in the first place.
BAM!
BOOM!
A steel door exploded outwards, courtesy of an explosive round from a Dust arrow, as four figures walked into the room with determination and disgust on their faces.
However, the most prominent of the three was a tall tan skinned young woman with short light-blond hair that is tied in a ponytail, violet eyes, two small beauty marks under the right eye and under the left side of the mouth, a D cup chest and wide ass, wearing a black sleeveless coat with gray accents, a red double-breasted sleeveless vest, a brown high neck shirt, a light gray short sleeved shirt with a black cuff on the left sleeve and a longer sleeve on the left side, a brown belted waist cincher, a long olive green scarf with tattered tails hanging down her back, black gloves that were missing an index finger, a small black bird-like gauntlet on her left arm that extended to her elbow with silver accents and a spring lock-like spine on her, brown pants with dark brown cuffs and black knee-high boots, who's gauntlet was extended into a crossbow-like shape as she looked around the room itself, noting that it was covered in loose papers and other strange concoctions of scientific marvel.
"...search the area." she said while frowning at the sight in front of her. "Find anything that proves the Schnees are funding this...horror show." 'So many citizens, Atlas and Mantle, taken for...this affront to nature!'
As the figures moved around the room, each one making sure the alarms were disabled to prevent reinforcements from arriving from the military, the ring leader, Robyn Hill, walked towards one of the computer terminals placed near the right side of the room and saw it was still operational and wasn't protected by any sort of password or security measure.
'Is the SDC really this arrogant or did they leave this up during the raid?' she thought to herself while looking through the vast archives of illegal experimentations, from turning people into living Dust producers to infusing Grimm parts into still living test subjects, and felt sick to her stomach. 'Despicable.'
Crack!
SMASH!
"That's the last one." said a tall tan skinned woman with sharp angular cheeks that made her look masculine, short spiky dark green hair, beige eyes, light gray tattoos on her nose and forehead, a D cup chest and wide ass, wearing a cocoa brown coat, dark brown lapels with white trims and hems, a light beige long sleeved top, artichoke green and white armored pads with emerald green straps on the arms, brown gloves, a light gray and pale green breastplate with a gray bird-like emblem in the centre, tucked in brown trousers, black boots with emerald green cuffs, with a frown as she stabbed a security camera with a large gray staff with a bayonet tipped end and crossbow shaped 'axe heads' on the ends, in her right hand.
"Finally, no more nosy scientists asking for our security passes." muttered a tall fair skinned woman with medium length blue hair sporting a long butt length ponytail wrapped in white bandages, yellow eyes, a C cup chest and wide ass, wearing a dusty brown coat with a small split in the rear, dark brown lapels with a gray bird-like emblem on the right lapel, gray waistcoat, dark brown top, dark brown forearm length gloves, gray armor padding over her forearms and the backs of her hands, an orange scarf, dark brown shorts, gray thigh socks, dark brown thigh-high boots, and a large gray staff with a bayonet tipped end and crossbow shaped 'axe heads' on the ends, on her back, while looking and then throwing away films from a filing cabinet. "Hey Fiona, find anything?"
"A-A few." said a short pale skinned young woman with short messy swept styled white hair, olive eyes, long white sheep ears with a small hoop earring on her left ear and a small bell earring on her right ear, a B cup chest and small ass, wearing an olive green sleeveless coat, dark brown lapels with a gray bird-like emblem on the left lapel, a green long sleeved shirt, a white orange trimmed breastplate, dark fingerless gloves, white and gray forearm armored pads, an orange belt that held the coat tightly around the waist, tucked in dark brown pants, gray under the knee boots sporting folded white lined tops with dark gray soles and toes, and holding a large gray staff with a bayonet tipped end and crossbow shaped 'axe heads' on the ends, in her left hand, as her right hand began to glow a pale yellow color and several documents were turned into dust particles before getting absorbed into a small circle covering said hand. "Most of them are reports...and I..I can't believe they did all of that."
"But they did." the yellow eyed girl said while throwing another file to the ground in anger. "And that makes me very pissed."
"Calm down Mary."
"Now can I calm down? They literally experimented on children! Children, Joanna!"
The beige eyed woman sighed in frustration while seeing Robyn looking at the screen with confusion, making her move towards the huntress with a raised eyebrow. "Robyn?"
"What is it, Joanna?"
"I just wanted to make sure you were ok, you seemed...tenser than normal."
"Comes with learning that the largest distributor of Dust has been going behind the military and funding unethical experiments under our noses." she sighed before seeing a folder that caught her eye.
The title...Project Blackice.
"Hello there." she muttered while clicking on the file, finding it easy to unlock and without any password protection morally attributed to dubious 'against nature' files one would find in a place like this. "What do we have here?"

A small camera near the right side of the terminal flickered to life as a hard light infused hologram appeared in the middle of the room and revealed the image of a short pale skinned young woman with long white hair that is pulled back into an off-center ponytail on the right side of her head, pale blue eyes, a B cup chest and small ass, wearing a white thigh-length strapless dress with a faint pale blue color gradation at the hem, a small piece of black lace on the front of her neckline, a scalloped snowflake-like hem, several layers of white tulle under the snowflake shaped skirt, a thin white sash with a pouch around her waist, a bell-sleeved white bolero with red lining and a ruffled collar, a white snowflake shaped emblem on the back of the bolero, a silver chain with a red apple shaped pendant on it, thin rectangular silver earrings, a silver icicle-shaped tiara, white red lined wedged heeled boots with a small silver snowflake across the top of the foot, and holding a silverish gray rapier with a four pronged hilt and a revolver-like chamber in between the prongs containing different colored Dust crystals within them, in her left hand, that spun clockwise around every so often as several text boxes appeared near the sides of the image.
"Wait...isn't that Weiss Schnee?" muttered Joanna in surprise as May turned around and saw the image, frowning a little bit.
"I remember her, she's Jacques' middle daughter. Went missing eight years ago, but why is an image of that heiress even here?"
"I don't know." Robyn said while typing on the keyboard, opening up several files in the process. "But this Project Blackice is completely amoral."
"How so?" asked Fiona as the hologram began to distort and show several text boxes, each one labeled either 'Project Blackice' or 'Project Success', followed by documentation from a company called 'Iron Johana', represented by a hammer and wasp emblem. "I know that symbol, that's a Mantle company."
"Yeah, one that ships the military high grade steel and metal parts for their airships." Joanna muttered while rubbing her chin with her left hand. "But why would they even sell anything to the SDC, they hate each other, well the former CEO that was."
"From what the files say." Robyn said while reading the documentation. "This was an inside agreement, Iron Johana gets a lifetime supply of Dust and the SDC gets high grade steel. All under the nose of Johana herself."
"Great, another skeleton for that crusty old man's closet of assassinations." May groaned while pinching the bridge of her nose. "What else? That he somehow turned his own family into weapons?"
Fiona gulped as the text boxes vanished and revealed something...disturbing that made her squeak in shock.
That being the image of a one hundred and fifty stories tall marble skinned woman with long serpentine-like black hair that went down to the legs and had a pointed snowflake like tip, dull red eyes, a jagged icicle shaped crown made of pure black ice with a single red gem in the center, dull red markings going down the legs and arms, curved bone like spikes on the elbows and ankles, a J cup chest and large ass, long black claws, light gray snowflake emblems on the neck, torso, lower thighs and palms, wearing a thick yet slim armored black long sleeved ballroom dress with a white diamond hem, a small raised pointed collar that covered the top of her forehead like a helmet, five layered icicle-like tulle that went down to her knees, a long black two pronged tendril-like belt around her waist that went down her hips and were covered in harden spinal bones, and black heeled boots lined with sharp taloned toes at the front, which turned counterclockwise and had the caption 'Project Blackice: Stage One' over the left eye.
"W-W-W-What is that!?" yelled May in absolute shock.
"It looks like a Grimm, but larger than anything seen in Soltias." Joanna muttered while feeling a chill go down her spine. "And it looks way too humanoid to be natural."
"Unless the Grimm are trying to become humanoid, but I don't see that being a thing." Robyn said while feeling an underlying sense of dread forming in the back of her mind, like something...unnatural was emanating from the image itself that made her base instincts want to scream and flee from the room. "And why would the military even have a Grimm that size to begin with?"
As the huntresses looked upon the image, they noticed it had some key distinct similarities to the common 'gene pool' of a Schnee.
The snowflake and ice motif, the prim and proper attire, and the crown like protrusion made it feel like this Grimm was a secret Schnee but the color was off, black instead of white and red instead of blue, making it a complete red herring for the huntresses, even if their minds were screaming for the contradictory.
But as Robyn continued to look at the files, her stomach began to clunch in disgust at the information, from grafting cybernetic implants into a still conscious Grimm, despite the apparent dangers to the scientists during the procedures, to the removal of key organs, which it apparently had, such as the eyes and part of the skull, to 'enhance' its abilities.
'Just what were they even thinking!? This goes beyond unnatural, this is just...inhuman! I mean this is a Grimm...wait.' she thought before seeing a file with the words 'Stage Two' on it and clicked on it.

RUMBLE!
RUMBLE!
The four huntresses blinked in surprise before the wall in the far corner began to move to the sides, revealing a thick one way glass window as lights began to illuminate the other side of the window, giving them a chill down their collective spines in the process.
"What the...?" muttered May while Joanna moved towards the window and looked out into the brightening room, discovering that it was a deep cavern with thick metal chain-like tubes that were held in place by Hard Light Dust and went downwards towards the center of a rather large gray platform at the bottom of said cavern. "A hidden laboratory?"
"I don't think so, this looks more like a vault." Joanna muttered while Fiona noticed a level poking out from the wall next to her and, against her better judgement, pulled it downwards.
Creeeeeeeeek.
CLANG!
Rumble rumble rumble.
The chains began to move upwards while the platform rose towards the surface, the huntresses quickly looking at Fiona with a deadpan expression.
"S-Sorry, I kinda got curious. That's all." she stuttered as May shook her head.
"This will end badly, I just know it."
"Perhaps." Robyn said as the platform moved closer and closer to the surface, a strange black coffin with the words 'Blackice' on the sides, situated right in the center with chains connecting to its sides. "But maybe it holds something that could bring down the SDC?"
"With the information of that Project Blackice we currently have and the other files, we have enough." Joanna said while on guard, gripping her staff tightly as the coffin loomed near the window. "Why continue to peer into their closet even more?"
"Because I have a feeling that this Grimm isn't a Grimm."
"What do you mean?" Fiona asked in confusion.
"The information seemed off. Experimenting on a Grimm, one that appeared eight years after the SDC lost one of its members, that sounds too sporadic and out of character, even for them." Robyn muttered while looking at the screen, noticing that there was a text box in the center of the screen, with the caption 'Access Project Blackice? Y/N?'. "And if this 'Grimm' is the key to protecting the citizens of Mantle and Atlas from these experiments, then we must find the truth and release it."
"Wait what?" May said with wide eyes as her leader pressed the 'Y' option. "Robyn no!"
TWANG!
CLANG!
Creak...clank!
The Hard Light Dust began to dimly glow as the chains fell off the coffin, landing on the platform as thick black ice formed around the edges, tainted snow rushing out from the openings and covering the window with its near sub-zero touch.
Shhhhhhiiiiiiisssssssss.
Crack.
Crack.
Crack.
The glass began to crack from the cold as red warning sirens activated, filling the room with a blaring screech that made the huntresses drop their weapons and clamp their hands over their ears in pain, the coffin opening up as black ice filled the rooms and caused a sudden drop in temperature.
Joanna narrowed her eyes as the ice began to land on the ground near her feet, the cold affecting her body as she shivered, only to notice that her hands...they were...
"Why the hell did you do that!?" May yelled in anger. "What if this thing was toxic or worse, contagious!?"
"Sorry, but I had to see the face behind Project Blackice."
"That still doesn't give you the right-"
"Girls." Joanna said, interrupting the two huntresses as she saw her hands turning pure black, flaking as red stumps formed near her fingertips. "I think we need to go, now!"
Fiona screamed in shock before seeing her hands gaining the same black 'burns' and her lungs started to fill with a cold yet soft substance, causing her to suffocate and gasp for air.
Robyn and May went wide eyed in shock before feeling their mouths filled with the same cold substance, black ice jutting out of their mouths as the coffin's lid fell to the ground and a pair of blue eyes glowed menacingly into a black and red room.
(Sometime later)
-Atlas, Schnee Dust Company Headquarters, Boardroom 10-
Within the white and green boardroom, several black chairs stood near a round egg shaped table, the numerous men and women discussing the matters of the SDC's successes and failures, all under the watchful eyes of its' CEO.
This CEO, Jacques Schnee, who was a tall fair skinned man with white slicked-back hair, a large thick mustache, cold blue eyes, wearing a pure white double-breasted blazer with a red handkerchief in the breast pocket, a light-blue dress shirt, a light blue vest, a white clip-on tie with a white snowflake-like leaf emblem on the tie, a silver-colored ring on his right hand, and white dress shoes with a white snowflake-like leaf emblem in place of the soles, watched on as he seemed a little tuned out from the meeting itself, as if he really didn't find their talks interesting to him at all.
'Sometimes I wonder why I even keep them around? Always talking about the people and never about the sales. Bah.' he thought to himself while tapping his fingers on the table, his mind wandering to other matters.
However, as this went on, not one noticed a low buzzing sound coming from the door leading to the hallway, the sound becoming louder and louder with each passing second.
"Do you hear that?' asked one of the board members before seeing a series of red lines, all aimed at their heads. "Wha-"
CRASH!
Glass shattered as several black canister-like genades landed on the table, releasing a thick black smog as ten small gray circular orbs with red glass-like eyes and covered in a black smog produced from small holes on the sides, flew into the room, utilizing an unknown propulsion system to hover in the air as each of the board members began to cough in pain, black ice forming from their eyes and mouths before falling to the ground, having turned into piles of snow draped with well made suits and skirts.
Jacques covered his mouth quickly before rushing to the door, hoping to escape and find a panic room to avoid this chaos, only to see that his legs were covered in black ice, preventing him from moving.
CLANK!
CLANK!
CRUNK!
CLUNK!
He paled as the sound of metal giving way could be heard a few stories down, the orbs moving towards him as the sound became louder and faster with every quick heartbeat his organ could muster in this particular time.
CLANK!
CLANK!
CRACK!
'What is going on!? Where are the guards, the Huntsmen!?' he screamed in his mind as a large shadow loomed over the room, a thick icky frost forming on the walls and floor as the obs moved back towards the shadow's shoulders and vanished into its inky embrace. 'Wait...the orbs...oh gods no! Who let IT out!?'
A low growl of primal anger reverberated through the building's metal frame, causing it to twitch as the CEO saw the perpetrator of this chaotic mess of a meeting.
For looming right on the edge of the building itself, towering over the building by a few feet was a one hundred and fifty stories tall marble skinned woman with long serpentine-like black hair that went down to the legs and had a pointed snowflake like tip, deep grey metallic eyes with blue glass irises, a jagged icicle shaped crown made of pure black ice with a single red gem in the center, thick gray bone-like metal attached to the arms, legs, and lower torso by bulky clamps and screws, dull red markings going down the legs and arms, curved bone like spikes on the elbows and ankles, a J cup chest and large ass, long black claws, light gray snowflake emblems on the lower thighs and palms, wearing a thick yet slim armored black long sleeved ballroom dress with a white diamond hem, thick steel gray armor points that curved upwards and cover the sides of her face, a thick gray diamond shaped faceplate that covered the upper torso and had several thick clear tubes going from the sides to the lower back, five layered icicle-like tulle that went down to her knees, large Wyvern shaped shoulder guards that extended to the elbows and had a single jaw-like opening sporting white triangular teeth and a large circular hole in the center, long sleek yet heavy gray greaves that extended from her elbows to the lower knuckle, a long black two pronged tendril-like belt around her waist that went down her hips and were covered in harden spinal bones, sleek yet heavy gray cuisses that went up to her lower thighs, thick clear tubes on her legs and arms that connected to her lower back, and black heeled boots lined with sharp taloned toes at the front, who glared at the CEO with pure hate in their eyes as the entire city was covered in a thick snow storm of black snow and ice.
'No, no no no no no! Not that...not Project Blackice!' Jacques thought in horror as the figure's right arm grabbed him tightly and pulled him right out of the building, right towards its face. 'This can't be real! This was supposed to be sealed away until the other Kingdoms attacked US! Not..this!'
The regal figure narrowed its eyes before raising its left arm up, forming a fist made of pure back ice with thick spikes on the bottom in the process, and aimed it at the white haired man.
"W-W-Wait! D-Don't kill me...I-I-I'm your father!" he yelled as the figure growled in anger.
"You...are..."
"Yes, I-I-I'm your father! Please just let me go!"
"Not...my..." it growled while slamming the fist right on the man's head.
"AHHHHHHH!"
"MY FATHER!"
CRUNCH!
And just like that...the world became coated in black ice, the screen becoming coated in said substance before shattering into pieces and falling into the void, eternally falling into an uncertain future.

Semblance(s): Glyphs (Formerly), Grimm Ice (a mutated version of the Schnee's genetic semblance, Glyphs, enhanced by the combined essances of the Arma Gigas Grimm. In exchange for summoning and the practical ability of Glyphs, the user can control and manipulate black ice, transform other forms of matter into black ice and restructure sentient beings into black ice in the form of 'ice burn' like patches that come in contact with the ice. If weaponized or out of control, the potential of the semblance could in theory turn Remnant into a frozen wasteland.)
Bio: In this timeline, during the 'test' between Weiss and the Anima Gigas Grimm, one where the goal was to see if Weiss should attend Beacon or not, the Grimm was able to land hit after hit on the Schnee and nearly killed her in the process. However, in desperation, Weiss used her incomplete Summoning part of her semblance to forcibly control the Grimm, but as she didn't have a connection to the Grimm or a handling of said ability, the power caused her to fuse with the amalgamated Grimm into a new form, the Queen of Black Ice, which combined the skills and attributes of both the Anima Gigas and Weiss into a more deadly form. Seeing this test as a failure, Jacques Schnee allowed his scientists to capture and experiment on the hybrid as a potential weapon for the company, dubbing it Project Blackice due to its ability to transmute matter into an infectious ice-like substance. For eight long years, Weiss was forcibly infused with cybernetic parts, her eyes replaced along with portions of her skin, as she grew taller and more powerful with each passing year, her hatred for humanity growing as she became more Grimm-like as a result. Given the ability to use drones to survey her opponents due to her lack of organic sight, she was trapped in the care of the G-VI laboratory, an illegally funded SDC controlled portion of the Atlasian military known for human and faunus experimentation, until the Happy Huntresses raided the place to expose their crimes against nature. Because of human sympathy for her plight, Robyn Hill released Weiss and caused her to destroy the laboratory and a large portion of Atlas before attacking and infecting her father with black ice, her mission changing from becoming the heiress of the SDC to destroying humanity for its crimes.
