The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.
From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.
The Ruinverse: Chapter Eighteen, Branwen Empire.

-Remnant, Solitas, Mantle-
Fire...the world was burning as black soot rained down the from sky, blanketing the entire city of Mantle with layer after layer of tainted snow, the lightning destroying everything in its path while the charred remains of humans and faunus alike were left on the ground, broken and carbonized by an unknown force.
ZAP!
In the distance, bolts of orange lightning hit the protective barrier around Mantle's sister city Atlas, breaking it in some places as it seemed ready to give way and allow the lightning to decimate its inhabitants.
Crack.
Crack.
Crack.
Broken skulls, carbonized by the flames, were crushed under foot as a figure moved through the ruined streets, right towards the orange lightning.
ZAP!
ZAP!
BOOOM!
The figure moved towards an artificial hill of broken cars and bricks as the lightning continuously hit the hard light barrier, seemingly being produced by an unknown force, as the figure stepped on the top and coughed for a few minutes, the dust and soot clogging their lungs.
"Ah, cough cough! Fuck, COUGH!" they coughed, revealing themselves as a tall pale skinned man with short spiky graying black hair, fading red eyes, a black stubbled jawline, a thick red third degree burn going down his right cheek and towards his upper left ear, wearing a gray dress shirt, black dress pants with a long tail, a tattered deep red cloak that went to his legs, a black wristband, a silver ring on his right index finger, two silver rings on his right ring finger, a necklace with a crooked cross-shaped pendant, black dress shoes, and a single-edged white greatsword with a red hilt, a silver clock-like center, black handguards beneath the hit, two black shotgun barrels attached on the sides of the blade, on his back, who seemed quite pissed off for some reason. "Cough! Damn lungs! Cough...ahem."
ZAP!
ZAP!
"RAVEN BRANWEN!" he yelled, despite the sounds of crumbing buildings in the background. "COME DOWN HERE YOU BITCH!"
ZAP!
ZAP!
"RAVEN!"
The flames licked the ground around him as the lightning stopped and a large whirlwind formed near the barrier, quickly moving forwards as red energy formed around the very top of the wind currents.
WOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!
The man's hair moved a little from the wind as his gaze hardened and watched the whirlwind move closer and closer to the hill, any nearby fires getting smothered out in the process.
As the winds began to die down, a figure stepped out of the vacuum of air and stepped down onto the brick covered hill, seemingly unconcerned about the burning city around them as the man moved his right hand towards the hilt of his sword.
"Ah, Qrow." said the figure, a tall pale skinned woman with long bushy jet black hair tied by a red bandanna in a neatly done up in a ponytail, a small cowlick on the top of her head, bright crimson red eyes, a E cup chest and wide ass, wearing a shallow cut black and red dress, red gauntlets, black fingerless gloves, several black beaded necklaces wrapped around her waist, a black belt, a red and white bandana hanging from the waist and went down to her ass, black shorts, black mid-thigh high leggings, black high heels with a single red sole, a black sword sheath with a red hilt on her right hip, and had two glowing auras over her eyes, one orange and the other red, with a smirk. "So you finally came. And here I thought you would be far away, keeping an eye on Rose's daughter."
"Cut the formalities, you know why I am here." he snapped in anger.
Raven sighed while placing her right hand on the hilt of her blade. "Oh right, because you fear my tribe's powers. Easy occurrence for those outside my goals."
"I ain't afraid of the tribe Raven, but I am pissed that you literally took my niece and turned her into another you!" He growled as Raven rolled her eyes. "Oh don't you start with me, I'm in no mood for any of your bullshit!"
"It is a coincidence that my daughter decided to join me and became stronger because of it."
"You brainwashed her!"
She tapped the edge of her hilt with her index and middle finger as she walked around the man, carbonized bones breaking with each step of her heeled shoes. "She came willingly, after nearly losing the Schnee, she wanted to protect her at all costs. I just gave her the option to grow stronger and protect her 'Weiss-cream', pardon the bad pun."
Qrow's eyes continued to glare at the woman's movement, making sure his hand was near his weapon just in case this confrontation went south too quickly. "And what about the attacks? They were made in your name."
"We wanted a stronger force, more land, more weapons and more members. That's all we wanted, but." she smirked while pointing to her eyes. "Thanks to Salem's little bitch, we have the power to back that plan up. And look around you, the filth of Ozpin is fading away, the lies and betrayals washing away in a sea of flames."
"He might have kept a lot of secrets...even from me." he frowned while internally agreeing with her older sibling. "But destroying Vale, Vauco and Mistral? That isn't like Ozpin, that is like Salem, like what she'd do if she had the relics."
"True, but unlike her, I'm not trying to wipe out everything." she said calmly. "I'm just getting rid of two evils, one full of hate and the other filled with lies. And once I fish with Atlas, a new world order will be made, by the strongest tribe on Remnant."
"You expect me to allow you to do that Raven?"
She stopped right behind the man's back and tapped her chin with her left index finger, seemingly considering that option. "True, you are the stubborn type, even back when we fought as a team. Still we don't have to be enemies."
He raised an eyebrow while not seeing Raven's smile fade to a more somber one.
"I know you still miss Summer, I do too." she said while the aura around her eyes faded a little in intensity. "We all miss her, from my daughter to your niece. It was...an unfortunate event that ruined our lives, but think about it Qrow. I have two halves of the four Maidens, with their powers I could do anything, even force the Relic of Creation to recreate her."
"..."
"Qrow." she said while turning her head slightly to the right. "If you join my side, we can acquire the relic, bring her back and make sure both Salem and Ozpin never take her away from us. Think of the family, think about your nieces, they want their mother back...and you can make it happen."
"..." he looked at his feet while a black aura formed near his laces, breaking them in the process. 'Maybe she's right. Those two really need a family.'
"Brother." Raven said sadly, a lone tear forming down her left eye. "What do you say? Will you mend the family long lost or throw it all away for a mad man's dream?"
Qrow closed his eyes, gripping his right hand tightly on the hilt as he narrowed his eyes.
Click!
KANG!
WOOSH!
Raven jumped out of the way as the greatsword transformed into a white curved scythe with serrated red edges, a long red hilt with a long black handle, a black trigger on the middle section of the handle, and nearly cut her head off, making her narrow her eyes in disappointment. "So, you choose to die? Weakling."
"I choose to stand up against a tyrant, and even if you did bring Summer back, she wouldn't join you, not now, not ever." he growled, tears forming down his cheeks before jumping tight towards his sister with the intent to kill.
CLANG!
The scythe's blade was soon blocked by the huntress' sword, sparks forming from both weapons as Raven's eyes glowed brightly with the intensity of a falling star.
"Then I will make your death swift and painful!" she growled before her blade began to glow with orange energy, causing it to become infused with flames so hot it made Qrow jump back from the heat.
ZAP!
Red lightning shot out from the blade as Qrow quickly dodged the attack, trying to find an opening to strike, however as he got back on his feet, he was forced to defend himself from several Dust blades, all laced with orange energy, with his weapon.
SWISH!
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
As the Dust blades shattered to pieces, Qrow suddenly found himself being attacked by Raven from behind, forcing him to quickly block the attack before getting hit by red flames, burning his right arm and cloak in the process.
"AH!" He screamed before grabbing his cloak and threw it at his sister, who conjured up a whirlwind from her left hand to send it flying back at its owner, resulting in him being thrown across the flaming wasteland into a steel truck. "GAH!"
"Idiot, that wouldn't even distract a fly." Raven smirked before seeing a nearby building, now covered in a black aura, crumble from its weakened support structure right towards her at a fast rate. "Oh you gotta be fu-"
BOOM!
WOOOSH!
As the dust settled, Qrow slowly got back to his feet, a little dazed and thankful his aura didn't break during the fight.
"...I really need to get a new cloak." he grumbled before feeling the ground rumble beneath his feet and the entire burning city skyline crumble into newly created fissures.
RUMBLE RUMBLE!
BOOOOOOOOM!
And from the rubble of the former building came Raven, now clad in wind and flames as her right eye was now heavily scarred and burned from the collapsing structure, her blade now covered in ice as she was completely pissed off.
"Oh fuck." Qrow muttered in disbelief as Raven sped towards him and nearly cut him in half, had he not dodge to the left, although that left an entire city block to be wiped away from the hurricane like winds created from the sword slash. "And double fuck!"
"So you want to make this your last stand?! Then I'll happily oblige!" she growled before using the wind to increase her speed, her ice covered blade quickly extending outwards towards Qrow.
'Shit!' he thought before noticing that the flames were moving way too close to him, making him realize that they were covered in red energy. 'Wait, oh gods no! She's using the Spring Maiden to control the flames!'
SHINK!
"AH!" he screamed as the ice punctured his left shoulder, making him drop his weapon in pain before the ice began to spread across his body, pinning him to the ground as flames rose above his head in the form of spearheads.
"Foolish brother." she frowned while moving closer and closer to the now frozen hunter, her left hand covered in orange and red energy and taking the shape of a blade. "Did you really think you, a drunken old bird, could defeat me?"
SWISH!
SHATTER!
"Rest well." she said while turning her back to the now destroyed Qrow Branwen, his icy tomb shattered into a thousand pieces as blood began to thaw out and leak onto the ground, only for the spearhead shaped flames to rush down like a title wave to devour the remains. "And don't worry about your niece, I will find her eventually."
As she turned her attention to the floating city, her hands glowing brightly as several tornadoes formed around the burning city of Mantle and were engulfed in the process, she looked upon the fallen scythe and picked it up with her left hand.
"...a fine weapon, a spoil of war." she muttered before slamming it across a metal beam, shattering it into two pieces in the process as she dropped the blade's handle onto the ground. "But unneeded for my new order."
Her eyes glowed brightly as she rose into the air and flew towards Atlas, her destructive intent clear to herself and only herself.
For today, as the old world burns.
ZAP!
BOOOOOM!
And the beacon of hope is destroyed by a high speed red and orange bolt of lightning, a new order is born. One that will end both sides of this shadow war once and for all.
All hail Queen Branwen, leader of the Branwen Empire.

The Spring and Fall Maiden's powers however were too much for the huntress and as a result of this domino effect, her mind was warped by the powers, making her more proactive and overconfident. Seeing herself as 'equal' to Salem and not wanting to leave the world without 'order', she decided to take her daughter, Yang Branwen Xiao Long, and mold her into the perfect warrior for her tribe, which soon allowed the Branwen Tribe itself to grow over time as a small kingdom of cut-throats that want nothing more than to see Salem and Ozpin destroyed for their shadow boxing matches. Through countless deaths and the fall of the kingdoms, the Branwen Tribe successfully took control of the planet, with the only places still operational being Atlas and Mantle, who held out until Raven decimated the cities and in an act of 'mercy', killed her twin brother, Qrow Branwen, in single combat. As the flames of bloody revolution wipe away the last traces of the old world, Raven became the first-ever Queen of the Branwen Empire, one that would last for a thousand years and bring peace through tyranny to all under its rule. To win a battle only to live long enough to see the world bow down to another Salem, was it worth it?
