The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.

From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.

The Ruinverse: Chapter Twenty Eight, Pralaya.

-Remnant, Land of Darkness/Evernight-

Within the barren land devoid of natural life, near a pool of blackened tar, the ruler of this kingdom of destruction, the great god of darkness, looks upon sight before them.

The crying face of a tall fair skinned woman with long straight pale platinum blonde hair that went down her back and was tied on the top in a small bun, two large locks that went down her shoulders with a single lock of hair framed over the left eye and curved down to her shoulder, light blue eyes, an E cup chest and large ass, long pale lilac nails, large gray circular earrings, wearing a white two piece dress, a sleeveless diagonally overlapping white backless pleated top, a raised pale blue halter-top square collar adorned with an aquamarine rhombus crystal on the clavicle, two small white rhombuses on the sides of the main crystal, a long white high-waisted skirt with a faint purple tint sporting white diamond emblems and white wavy lines near the bottom hem that is ruffled around the waist, a purple sash, a thin leather strip with an aquamarine rhombus crystal over the sash, dull brown bracers and faint purple heeled flats, holding an iron scepter in her hands like a lifeline.

The god, having understood the plight of this lone mortal, who faced the Grimm without fear and looked upon him with bravery in her heart, pondered the idea of her request.

A simple resurrection of a lost soul.

While resurrecting a soul from the cycle of life and death was taboo, a rule he begrudgingly agreed to when constructing the race known as humanity, this human female came to him first, not his 'elder' brother, but him. For countless centuries, the human he helped form, the ones he gave the gift of magic to, chose to follow the deity of light, offer him gifts and prayers, and offered their destinies to the 'elder', yet for him, the one who favors the Grimm and sees humanity as a potential second, it was unjust…almost cruel in design.

Humanity, cruel and arrogant, just like him. But that matters not, he would allow the rule of death to be broken, just this once, consequences be damned, for this lone woman, who offered something more precious than gold.

A humble prayer for a god scorned by many.

As the god looked upon the woman, who moved her hands towards him to offer him the scepter, his mind was made clear, he would help this woman, possibly gaining a follower in the future from this act of charity.

"Rise, child, and let your faith in me be rewarded." spoke the deity in an amused tone as he caused a purple orb to form from nothing and sent it down on the ground.

Wooosh!

From this orb, came a tall tan skinned man with short messy brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a blue-green tunic with golden markings, a tan undershirt with golden markings, thick silver ornate armor attached to his chest, arms, legs, hips, shoulders, neck, and upper feet, several brown belts and straps that held the armor together, a long blue cape, black trousers and brown boots, who seemed confused and slightly paranoid of his surroundings.

"Where am I? What is this?! WHERE AM I?!" he screamed in fear, the woman moving towards him with a smile, tears starting to form near her eyes.

"It's okay! Everything's going to be okay!"

KABOOOOOOOOM!

Thunder rang across the expanse of purple crystals and tar, as a bright golden light illuminated a small portion of this dark land, revealing a golden skinned humanoid, whose body language was filled with anger as it 'stared' down the lord of darkness.

"What have you done?" it said as the purple clad deity 'glared' at the eldest of the gods.

"I have done what I please, brother. You may bask in the powers of creation, but you do not own them."

"This is not creation." the lord of light spoke while the humans looked upon the gods with fear, although the one clad in green seemed to be trying to protect the woman with his body, shielding her in the process with his exposed front half.

"Do not lecture me!" the lord of the Grimm yelled, his creations moving closer to the invader, wanting nothing more than to snuff out the eternal enemy of their master.

"I will do what I must to maintain order." the creator of the world 'frowned' before forming a ball of orange aura and flung it at the man.

WOOOSH!

Disintegrating him as the woman's eyes widened in horror.

"No! No! What did you do?! BRING HIM BACK!" she screamed, her mind racing with contingency plans and despair as the lord of plagues grew angry, filled with malice at what the 'eldest' 'sibling' did to undo his first real prayer in centuries.

"You dare enter my domain and show such disrespect!" he roared in fury, his hands glowing with energy as he recreated the mortal's body, atom by atom.

However, in his need to one up his 'sibling', the god failed to realize that this mortal was bathed in both light and darkness, energies normally stable in the human body, but now…

It was given too much.

"Ozma!" the woman cried out, carefully giving her beloved a hug, not noticing that his eyes…were crazed, bloodshot.

SQUISH!

"AH!"

The sound of ripping flesh and broken bones rang in the 'ears' of the gods, causing them to turn and flitch in shock.

For the mortal, a once great hero of magic, had just ripped out the heart of his own wife with his right hand, no magic, no special abilities, just pure malice filled strength.

"Goodbye." he said, his body rising up from the ground as he crushed the heart in his hands. "Salem."

And like that, life faded from the woman's eyes, her body falling to the ground as the man raised his left hand upwards, the scepter glowing with a green energy.

"Explode."

KABOOOOOOOM!

"AH-" the lord of darkness screamed as the scepter exploded in his face, blinding him instantly before the resurrected mortal jumped onto him and began tearing at his chest like a wild animal, purple 'blood' oozing from the spot as the 'eldest' 'brother' looked on in horror.

'What happened to this mortal!?' he thought before seeing the purple aura, the godly essence of his brother, being absorbed into the mortal's body. "Wait, how!? How is he-'

SQUISH!

Color faded from the younger god's body as it began to flake and disbursed into ash, a cocoon of energy forming around the mortal as he cackled in glee, sanity vagant from the former hero's mind.

The Grimm growled, unsure what to do at this exact moment, as the god of solar energy noticed the Grimm's eyes turning from red to purple in an instant.

'This…this is impossible, no human could even hold the power of a god. Not even him….what changed?' the deity thought before seeing cracks forming on the cocoon, causing the eldest deity to quickly vanish, wanting nothing to do with this unprecedented situation.

Crack.

Crack.

Crack.

KABOOOOOM!

With a thunderous roar and a blinding light, the cocoon shattered as the pools of tar quickly evaporated, along with disintegrating any Grimm too close to 'ground zero'.

From the epicenter of this explosion, was a tall pale gray skinned man with short messy light purple hair that were tipped with black points, dark purple eyes with thin zigzagging black lines running down the sides of his eyes and his cheeks, deep open eye sockets above the eyes that expelled purple flames, four long skeletal bat-like wings that curled upside down and took the form of a tattered purple cape with black circular lines, six long curved horns jutting from the back of the neck and curled upwards to his forehead, wearing a deep royal purple long sleeved overcoat with deep gray lining, dull gray shoulder guards covered in thick bone-like spikes, thick gray armor on the chest, legs, hips, lower arms and back with dull black markings, a black dress shirt with purple lining, black claw-like gauntlets with four bone-like spines running down the fingers, a long purple sash that trailed down his left leg and coated in black spikes near the end, gray pants, deep purple boots tipped near the toes with black talons, and covered in a thick purple aura that quickly turned the nearby ground and crystals into gray flaking dust particles.

However, as he straightened himself upwards, his eyes stared not at the Grimm, who now were bowing at him.

But…towards the screen, his eyes fixated on the ones beyond the confines of his reality, the ones that have insight into the truth of everything.

"..." he cocked his head to the side, his gaze never moving from the screen, as he looked rather interested. "...what an interesting bunch of individuals. Unique clothing, strange hair styles, cramped rooms fit for a king, and…oh? Miniature rectangles, huh. Fascinating."

Ziiissiiisiiisisis.

Static formed near the edges of the screen as the man chuckled with malice.

"I wouldn't mind destroying you all, but first I have a few loose ends to fix." he said before vanishing in an explosion of energy, destroying the realm and transforming it into a pure white void.

(Elsewhere)

-Unknown Void-

Light, a realm of white covered every expanse of this strange dimension of broken physics as nothing material or distinctly familiar could be seen, although small flaming balls of black and white floated aimlessly in every direction.

The camera slowly moved towards one of the balls, colored pale purple with specks of gold, as it floated above the void, seemingly fated to drift forever in this world of white.

[Arise.]

Crack.

If willed by the strange soft voice of an unknown power, the ball of flames began to expand, forming cracks on its sides as a silver light covered the entire screen, obscuring everything in static in the process.

SHATTER!

As the screen began to realign, shards of a flame-like 'shell' fell into the white void as a tall pale golden skinned woman with long glowing gold hair that went down to her legs and twisted upwards near the scalp to form ten silver tipped antlers, pure silver eyes, a F cup chest and large ass, long silver nails, thick semi curved silver markings on her arms and forehead that took the shape of a serpentine dragon, long pointed gold tipped earrings that went down to her shoulders, wearing a long sleeveless gold dress with silver marking near the chest and hips that went down to her knees, thick golden wheel-like shoulder guards covered in ten million small silver eyes, two thick golden wheel-like bracers covered in ten large silver eyes, thin shining silver armor on the knees, chest, back, elbows and hips, gold diamond shaped gems studded on the chest plate, a long golden sash that trailed down the legs and wrapped around her like a serpent's tail while sporting several small silver eye shaped gems, dark gold heeled boots with a single silver point at the toes, and covered in a bright golden light emerged from now shattered ball of flames, floating over the white void, as her eyes glowing brightly, static formed across the now distorted screen.

[Salem, Goddess of Life. Destroyer of Ozma.]

The newly created woman looked upon the screen before vanishing in a blinding white light, destroying all visibility in the process.

Bio: In this timeline, during the age of magic, the great warrior paladin Ozma passed into the next world, leaving his wife, Salem grieving and, in an attempt to change fate, asked the gods for his resurrection. However, when the God of Light rejected her request, the sorceress chose his brother, the God of Darkness to resurrect her love. The magic of the god brought Ozma from the afterlife…but the tainted energies of both the God of Light and God of Darkness, who wrestled control over his very existence, corrupted the incorruptible warrior's very soul, twisting his mind from a kind one to a power hungry one and, in an act of injustice, stabbed his wife through the chest, crushing her heart with his bare hand before grievously wounding a distracted God of Darkness, stealing his powers in the process [I feel it all….so much power….]. This was not the end of Salem however as she was resurrected and granted god-like powers by the God of Light, who saw Ozma's actions as misguided yet malicious to existence itself. Upon reuniting with the other, Ozma explained to his spouse that the world they lived in was nothing but a lie [ALL A LIE!], a world where magic was free but progression was slow and heroes were forgotten about, thus he will use the god's powers to rewrite everything to suit his needs, his desire to be the only hero in this new world [I AM THE HERO!], one that shall be better than the Twin Gods and everyone else that ever lived, even his wife. Seeing Ozma as a lost cause [IT IS THE ONLY CAUSE THAT'S RIGHT]!, Salem attacked Ozma and fought in an epic battle of domination and freedom….however, where as the victor, in the verse beyond the silver gates, dictates that Salem shall win by imprisoning Ozma within four relics and scattered across the planet, allowing her to rule over humanity as it's savior until a certain blonde dimensional traveler pops up to cause chaos….things went down a much sinister route [The right route!]. Upon striking the final blow upon the human made god, Salem saw a flash of her more innocent times with her husband, and hesitated [Weak, WEAK!], allowing Ozma to steal her powers and remake the timeline, creating a world where he is omnipotent and omniscient, destroying free will and creating and destroying all things to his whims. In a cruel yet strangely loving, albeit possessive [SHE IS MINE!], fate, Salem was placed back within the tower at the moment of her sixteenth birthday, stuck in a time loop that begins when her father gifts her paper and ends as she sends her letter of 'freedom' out the window via arrow, never able to escape, never able to learn the truth, and always resetting as parts of her past life resurfaces. How tragic, love created a monster and in the end, love created a fate worse than death…and without opposition, hope is a distant memory…

I.
