Family of Two.
Chapter 507: A Loud trip to Scotland part 1.
(Somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean.)
A Hercules Transport craft is flying across the waters at great speed, and the pilots are none other than Michelle Lewis Loud, and also some good help from Tristen D. Pingrey, since he once flew a helicopter for the Royal Woods Police Department and this is all too normal for the officer.
The others are all at the back and with their things, awaiting for this journey across the ocean to be over and hit dry land. The folks at the back: Lincoln, Luna, Delilah, Leslie, Harriet, Lori, Leni, Luan, Elena D. Pingrey and her daughter, Lily, Lisa, Teri, Darcy, Lucy, Maggie, Lana and Lola.
(Alright, so Mrs. Johnson was told by her adopted twin daughters to spend the week of her relaxation time and she found it at Aloha Beach and Resort, and the Helmandollar parents trust Teri to watch over Darcy and Lucy, and of course the Shapiro couple are trustful for Maggie to watch over Lucy. They trust the folks on this trip to watch over their kids and have a dang good spring break time)
The group is still awaiting the landing of this aircraft, and Lincoln looks out the window and then he sees the unsure expressions from Leslie and then he asks. "You upset that you feel like you don't belong on this trip, cousin?"
Leslie sighs. "Sorry, it's just... I am not a loud by blood."
"And yet here we are, bearing the loud last name." Delilah brings her sister closer. "And even the others don't bear the last name anymore and yet here they are, and some here who aren't even louds, and yet are still family to us, chin up and just be excited about where we're going."
Leslie sees everyone else are excited about this and this makes Leslie smile, and then Lily walks over to Leslie and so she picks up the toddler and lets her sit on her lap. "Alright, alright. Sorry for thinking negative thoughts guys, just a little concerned is all. This is gonna be fun."
They then hear the voice of Michelle. "Attention folks, we are nearing our destination and... Whoa, that looks lovely, and yet a little foggy."
They all look out the windows and even use the outer perimeter camera and they can see the lands before them, and before them is a village and the docks connected, and a castle far from the village. "Well, this sure is gonna be awesome, and also fascinating" replied Luan.
The Hercules transport then arrives to the location and it lands down onto near the docks, onto a large rocky area which is connected to the docks. The aircraft then opens the main doors and they all walk out of the aircraft, and then the pilot and her co-pilot.
Michelle then looks to the transport and she turns on the security and the defensive shielding. "There, but I don't know if anybody here knows how to fly an aircraft such as this." They then look around the place.
"This place is so wonderful, my eyes haven't seen anything this old fashioned in a long, long time" replied Lucy as she looks around, and even Harriet like this place.
"Dang, the smell of this place is so rancid" said Lola.
"I like it" replied Lana. She then sees someone. "Hey, there's someone we can ask about where our ancestors and relatives are." They spot the fisherman and so they all go over to talk to the man.
The man is busy putting the fist he caught into the buckets and the basket, and he plans to sell it to earn a living, but then he hears the sounds of a lot of footsteps around him, and then he looks up. "Bless me bagpipes!" He is startled by this large group around him.
"Sorry sir." Lincoln comes over. "We didn't mean to startle you, we're just here to know where our relatives are. My name is Lincoln Loud, and these are..."
"Louds?" the fisherman then gets up. "Louds?! Louds!" The man then runs off into the village and he keeps calling out. "Louds! Louds! Louds! Louds!"
Everyone is confused. "Well, that was dramatic and also very weird" replied Maggie. "Should we follow him?"
"Yeah, we should. We won't get answers unless we can talk to someone who can make sense for us to know what is going on" replied Luna. They all head into the village and seek out someone who can help them, they do look around and notice how old fashioned and quaint the village is.
But then Delilah stops them all from moving forward. "Sheep!" She is not wrong, a herd of sheep are stampeding by them and this is confusing.
"This doesn't seem right" replied Lisa. "Sheep shouldn't be gallivanting around the village, and that doesn't seem right either."
They see the house is more than ten feet from the street and the door opens and they gasp thinking the woman coming out is gonna land and hurt herself, but then some kind hearted man goes over and has a ladder and helps her down and then he goes off to help some other folks.
"Well, that was way too close" replied Lori. "This town is literally, weird."
"That is weird too." Lola points out to the local fish and chips place, and they are separated and having an argument about their own products. "Shouldn't fish and chips be together or something?"
Luna is confused. "You are not wrong there, Lola. This town has lost its sense of mind and has gone down the crazy end, and those signs don't make sense either." They all go over to the sign post, and it has way too many signs and some of them are the same.
"How many banks does this town even have?" asked Michelle. "And why are these signs clustered?"
Then the car driving is going around in a circle and the lady driving panics. "How do I get out of here?!"
"Is there even law enforcement here?" asked Tristen. "Because I haven't seen a single U.K or Gaelic cop, or Celtic Cop, or something. Does this town even have someone to run this place? A town lord perhaps?"
Then Leni bumps into someone, but she manages to grab all the fabrics. "Oh, sorry about that sir. Here you go, bye." Leni then walks away and follows the others, and the boy she bumped into watches her walk away and he blushes and feels warm inside from seeing the fine lass.
As soon as they reach the center of town, they notice the folks all looking towards them and are whispering and coming over, Darcy then holds Lisa's hand. "This is scaring me, what's going on?" Teri goes over to keep her little sisters safe.
Then the man from before comes over and he seems thrilled and excited, and his name is Angus. "Well, bless me bagpipes. Are you all, Louds?"
Luna then speaks. "Well, we five are louds and the others are formerly louds, but we still see them as family."
This kinda confuses the folks, even Angus, but then he smiles. "Well then, welcome to Loch Loud!" He then steps aside and they see the sign that says "Loch Loud" and then some music is being played.
"This is pretty strange, and also... What?!" said Michelle. "This town is named with the loud last name?" They all are surprised, and they wanted to know more about what is going on, and the best option... Follow that singing Angus.
(At the Loud Castle.)
They all arrived to the castle, and then they clap at the song Angus had performed and they didn't sing with him because this whole thing has been feeling, strange and odd. "Thanks for that, but who the heck are you sir?" asked Leni.
"We haven't even been introduced and just followed the dude singing" said Elena D. Pingrey, but this does make Lily smile and clap.
"Oh, well where are my manners? The name is Angus the local groundskeeper of the place and well-known around the town, and welcome to the home of the Louds of old, welcome to Loud Castle!"
"What?!" The man opens the large double doors and they see the interior of the place, and how royal and fancy it is, with knight armour all lined up and wearing kilts as tradition in the land of Scotland/Loch Loud. They are all so amazed by this and even Lisa. "This... How did our former parents not even know of this?" Darcy looks to the armour, but then she is picked up by Teri to not touch it.
Lola is enchanted by this. "The Louds are royalty? This is... This is so unexpected, and so amazing!"
Then someone is at the top of the stairs, and her name is Morag. "Well, oh my. Look at this." she then comes down the stairs. "Do my eyes deceive me? It appears we have..."
"Louds!" Angus replies to Morag with such delight.
Morag doesn't seem pleased hearing this. "Yes, I heard the song that you sang Angus, in fact all of Scotland heard the song and reached all the way to..."
Then Angus picks up Morag and hugs her. "Isn't this wonderful Morag? Our dreams have finally come true for the past 400 years! The Louds are here!"
"Yes, yes... Angus..." Morag then whispers. "Put. Me. Down. Now." Angus does so.
"Sorry about that, Morag." He then looks to the others. "Louds, this is Morag the local Castle Keeper and she maintains the entire castle to make sure it is neat and tidy."
Lola is about to go over and have Morag take her bag, but then Leslie stops her. "Lola, no. Manners. She's a hard working lady, and judging by her appearance, she has been through a lot." This confuses Morag, and she is also confused by the other group of folks with them.
Angus seems thrilled by this. "I cannot believe the Louds have come to reclaim their rightful place in the castle, this sure is something unbelievable!"
"Wait, what?" Luna is confused. "Dude, I think you got the whole thing wrong. We're only here for a week, also my name is Luna Loud, and this is my son Lincoln, and our adopted relatives into the Loud name: Michelle, and her adopted daughters, Delilah and Leslie."
Leni then speaks. "The rest of us aren't louds anymore, we're on our own terms of names and adopted into other families, after a very bad ordeal."
Angus and Morag are confused. "Wait, what?"
Lisa then goes over. "Allow us to explain..."
(One explanation from Luck, Nightmares and Fears What if Scenario later.)
The two keepers of the castle are baffled hearing this, the loud last name is now being held by this teenager, who is as responsible as an adult, and adopted her own brother to be her kid, and all the others either adopted or have started their own life with different last names, and three folks aren't there anymore and are locked up and no longer dubbed "Louds."
"Well, I did not see this one coming" said Morag. "Clearly, this whole child abuse and neglect ordeal must have been troubling and bad luck? Such silly nonsense, and yet the whole luck idea did come from Scotland, and some point in Ireland."
Lori nods. "Yeah, we literally are no longer louds, but we still see each other as family, and also we're only here for a week. It's spring break where we reside. We're literally here just for a one week vacation and then we'll be headed back home. Some of us still have school."
Tristen then speaks. "We on the other hand have to return back home to Detroit."
Angus is confused and saddened. "Wait, a week and... Wait, what? Not forever more?"
But then Morag intervenes. "Now, now Angus. Calm yourself. Do you not see? These folks are just here for a holiday, and we don't need to trouble them any further. They can find some lovely accommodations in the town and..."
"Oh nonsense there, Morag" said Angus. "They can stay here, this is the Loud castle after all." this surprises them and they all cheer and clap hearing this, the younger ones are more excited.
Morag then turns around and she is not pleased. "Why, such a quaint and lovely idea you have Angus."
Harriet notices this and she is confused as to why Morag doesn't seem pleased. 'Well, someone doesn't seem to like us.' But deep down, she can feel that there is something else going on with that lady.
Then Lincoln goes over to Angus. "Hey, Angus. Can you tell us more about our ancestors? That is another reason why we're here."
"Because I found out that the Louds are from Scotland." Harriet has a journal. "This journal was made by a loud long ago, and was entrusted by my ancestors to keep it safe and had no information on anything else the loud's of old did." She sees the surprised look from Angus. "Yes, I am a ghost and the great grandmother of the louds, on the maternal side."
Angus and Morag are shocked, and then Angus speaks. "Well, didn't think the loud went that far when they left, but alright then. Come with me, folks." They all follow Angus. "The louds were a clan this land has never seen." He then removes the curtains and they all see the painting of the louds of old, the royal family, and the clan of Louds and the rulers of the land that they are in.
All of them are surprised that they look just like them, but then they stop and don't seem happy and Angus is confused. "Wait, what seems to be the problem?"
Lucy sighs and she speaks. "Angus, there are ten sisters..."
Lori looks away and then she speaks. "Two parents..."
Lincoln looks down with sadness and then speaks. "One boy."
Angus then realizes this, and recalls the reason why the louds have been fractured. Luna then pulls her son close. "Hey now, calm down that weary head of yours kiddo. We are not like them anymore, we have our own lives and everything is different. Don't let the past bring ya down, son."
Lincoln smiles hearing this, but then Angus speaks. "Truth be told, the boy was the special one in the family." This confuses them. Angus nods. "The only son of the Louds, who is the true heir to the throne, is actually the Duke of Loch Loud."
All of them are speechless hearing this. "Wait, what?!" Lincoln is surprised, and confused.
Angus chuckles. "Follow me, folks." They all follow Angus and they head up the stairs.
Morag is about to call out, but then Michelle talks back. "Don't worry, we're keeping an eye on the kids. We'll make sure they don't break anything." She then goes back to the others. Morag is surprised to hear this, and she too follows them.
(Moments later.)
They all have been introduced to the rooms where they all will be staying, though Lucy wishes to share her bedroom with Maggie and Harriet, even though Harriet doesn't even need sleep. They give the room that should be Lynn Jr's to Michelle to share with her daughters, Delilah and Leslie and there is an extra bed there.
Lori chooses to allow Teri to bunk with her in the bedroom of the eldest royal loud. The D. Pingrey parents take refuge in the bedroom from which the loud parents should be, and Lisa is sharing her bedroom with Darcy.
Luna and the others follow Angus and he shows them the room of the Duke. "Lincoln, this is where you will be staying, the room that was once the quarters of the Duke of Louds and the noblest of leaders this land has ever seen."
They all see the portraits, the paintings and the busts and statues and the crown, Lincoln is amazed. "Whoa. The Boy of the Louds was a Duke? No freaking way! This cannot be real!" He then lies down on the large bed. "Hmmm, comfy."
Angus chuckles. "Believe it boy, this whole land was ruled by a fine leader, and he was the best leader there ever was. The Duke of Louds would always be there, to help others and make sure that Loch Loud was safe and a place to call home."
Luna then asks. "Did he have a special bond with one of his sisters?"
Angus tries to recall. "No, I don't think so. He treated all of them with equality, and would never choose a favorite, but at times he wouldn't have time because of his royal duties and he would always put them on first, when he did spend time with the family, then he would put aside the royal acts and stick with being around them."
"Now that sounds like a good brother to me" said Luna. "Would be nice to know if he bonded with his musical sister." She then sees the crown and so does Lincoln. She then looks to her son. "Royal or not, you're special to me kiddo, and everyone else knows it too."
Lincoln chuckles. "As special in music as my mom." He then hugs her, and this touches the heart of Angus to see the former siblings turned mother and son appreciate each other, Morag sees this and she scoffs and takes her leave.
Then Lana goes over. "Hey Angus, we saw this weird cave sticking out from the back of the castle, mind telling us what that is all about?"
(Later in the Day.)
We see Angus guiding Lana, Lisa, Darcy, Leslie and Delilah, and they head for the back of the castle. "Alright folks, what you are all about to see is something this land has kept since the louds fled, and we don't know why they left our lands."
Hearing this confuses them. "That sounds very strange" said Lisa. "Why would the louds of old leave this land?"
"That doesn't even make sense" said Darcy.
"Same" replied Angus. "But the guardian dragon meant to defend the loch has passed away on her own terms, but she did leave this. An actual dragon egg!" They go inside and they see the dragon egg and they don't seem surprised. "Why are you not amazed?"
Delilah speaks. "Believe it or not, we have seen dragons before. From some other worldly friends and we can't go further with that detail."
Angus is amazed by this, but then Darcy asks. "Mr. Angus, is the egg supposed to look broken in the back?"
"Wait, what?!" Angus goes over and so do the others and they see that the back of the egg is broken. "Oh no, the dragon is..." then the baby dragon tackles him and then licks his face. "Oh, alright. I get it, stop now little one." He chuckles and laughs from this small and cute baby dragon.
The others are amazed to see this. "The others have to see this cute thing" said Delilah.
(Back inside the castle.)
Everyone is gathered to the baby dragon and are amazed and awed by her cuteness, then Lily goes over and she hugs the baby dragon. "Lela, Lela. You name, Lela!" She then hugs the cute baby dragon and the baby dragon returns the embrace and then Lily kisses her cheek.
They all awe at the cuteness overload, but then Michelle calls out to the others. "Guys, dinner is served and it is one heck of a feast." They all go into the dining hall and they see the large and long table and it is filled with good. "Made this with the help from Teri, Leni, Lori and Elena, so dig in folks and enjoy."
They all go over and they enjoy this dinner meal, and Lily even shares her food with Lela, but she does notice that she gets big every time she eats something. Lisa and Darcy notice this and they have a feeling that this baby dragon, might not be a baby for too long.
Lincoln sits at the chair of the Duke and Luna sits by his side, but then he chooses to sit on a chair with her. "This is gonna be an awesome week." Lincoln and Luna then enjoy the delicious food.
Then Angus goes over to them. "It sure will be, and I was thinking that tomorrow I could give you lot the tour of the village, and also show you around on how things have been since... Well, since we haven't had a duke."
Luna has this odd feeling that he is up to something. "Ummm, okay then. But I am so confused, why don't the folks of the village even fix the problems there themselves? They are grownups and have work, can't they fix the smaller issues they have?"
Morag walks by. "They have mashers for brains, lass." Luan spits out her drink and laughs from that, and this makes Morag smirk, "Well, she found that funny."
Angus then speaks. "Well, we do need someone to lead and like I said. The town hasn't had a duke for more than 400 years."
Lincoln then has an idea. "Well, I think we can help out. But we also do wanna take the time and have some fun around the town, we are on vacation after all."
Angus nods. "Of course." they all then continue to enjoy the dinner, but they don't notice how annoyed and ticked off Morag is, and she glares at Angus for his words.
(Later in the night.)
After some dinner, Morag and Angus leave the castle and Morag does not look happy. "You bumbling fool! Letting them stay in the castle, showing them that little now living dragon and now tellin the boy about the Duke and his devotional work to the town! What the heck were you even thinking?!"
"But the town would love a new Duke" replied Angus, he doesn't seem bothered by Morag and her attitude, all he is feeling is joy and happiness knowing that the louds, and former louds are back.
"Oh, the town would love a new Duke!" Morag says so mocking the voice of Angus. "I don't give a thought about those peasants and their little huts."
"They're not peasant Morag, the folks of the village are our neighbors" replied Angus. "Our friends and..."
"Oh shut it, you nitwit!" said Morag in anger. "Because of you jibber jabbering away, now I am stuck with these hooligans and ruffians, and they are as exact as the louds back then, even though they don't seem like the full blasted package." Deep down, she is relieved about that.
Angus sighs. "A dang shame, would be nice to have the parents and the other sister to be..."
"Not, another word, you nimrod" said Morag. "My ancestors have kept these halls neat, clean and tidy and quiet, ever since they drove away..." She then realizes what she had just said. "I mean ever since the first louds had sailed away forever. Oh, I deserve to be living in someplace better than this!" She points to the small cottage where Angus lives, which is right next door from the castle itself.
"Oh don't be like that Morag, this whole thing is only for a week." Angus then guides her to his cottage. "And you will have oodles of quiet here in my castle, would you like me to give you the tour of..." But then Morag pushes him out and hands him a pillow and then she closes and locks the doors. "Oh, well goodnight Morag."
(At Lucy's bedroom... Well, formerly Lucille Loud's bedroom.)
We now see Lucy Shapiro and her older sister, Maggie. The duo are both preparing for the spell/summoning, and then Harriet comes through. "The time has come, we must ready this and find out what we need to know. Let us begin."
Lucy and Maggie nod, and so they sit down and meditate and Harriet stands before them and they all chant out the spell needed for this to work.
"Castle spirits hear our plea."
"We summon a loud from the royal family."
"On mystic winds and across the Scottish moors."
"Bring to us forth the girl who walked these royal floors."
The window then opens and the winds flow through, the door closes and the papers around them scatter. Then, Lucy, Maggie and Harriet see this ominous blue glow, and they smile seeing her. "Welcome back to us, Lucille Loud."
(Later.)
Everyone has been summoned, and are awake and in their night clothing. "What the heck is with the wakeup call, Lucy?" asked Lori. "Do you guys literally have any idea what time it is?"
Lucy speaks. "Everyone, we have someone special for all of you to meet. Say hello to the ancestor of the louds, my ancestor, Lucille Loud."
They then see this old timey and translucent ghost of Lucy. "Charmed, I'm sure." All of them should be amazed, but they aren't. "Is there something wrong?"
"We're used to ghosts" replied Luan. "We do see Harriet a lot."
Teri then asks. "You girls brought her here?"
Lucy nods. "If we are to know more about what went down with the louds of old, then summoning one from the great beyond is our best bet."
Maggie speaks next. "Besides, the only way to find out why they were no longer in Loch Loud and took refuge in the land that is now America, is to ask the actual loud who knows the truth."
Lucille then floats around them. "We can talk more when the daylight comes and brings forth the new day upon the green hills and pastures, for now you should all rest."
All of them nod. "Okay." they all walk back to their rooms, and get some goodnight sleep.
Lucille smiles and she sighs in relief. 'It feels good to be home, and I am so saddened by how the loud name has turned. But, at least they all still see each other, as family.' She then sees the baby dragon, Lela. "Huh, this is something new."
To be continued in the next chapter.
