The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.

From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.

The Ruinverse: Chapter Thirty Nine, Ad Quaerere Divinas Tenebras.

-Remnant, Grimmlands, Evernight Castle-

ZAP!

BOOM!

Acidic black rain fell across the castle's crystalline surface as Salem, the ruler of the Grimm, quickly walked down the long hallway with an angry glare in her eyes.

The reason for her anger?

Simple, she found out that one of her most loyal servants had stolen the relics, killed the maidens, and now has come to her stronghold to summon the gods, before she can.

And this made her see red, for who in their right mind would antagonize Salem, the oldest being on this planet and one of the 'true' denizens of this world of copycats.

SLAM!

The wooden doors flew open, revealing a large throne room with a black crystallized throne at the far end, as Salem stormed into the room with a growl.

All the while four gold artifacts, a crown, a lamp, a staff and a sword, rested on the throne's seat, seemingly waiting for someone to claim them.

"TYRIAN CALLOWS!" she yelled in fury, a dark maniacal chuckle echoing across the room as she moved her eyes from side to side, looking for the traitor so she could kill him on the spot.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!"

She frowned while unable to see her once loyal assassin's shadow, the room being obscured by the moonless night outside. "Come out here, right now! Lest you incur my wrath, ten fold!"

"And spoil the fun? Sorry, not happening, hahahaha!"

She narrowed her eyes while hearing the cackling all around her, unable to differentiate between his own footsteps and the mania rich laughter. "Callows, get out here and face your punishment, now."

"Mmmm, no." he said with a chuckle, making Salem visibly pissed off. "And what punishment? All I was doing was following the plan…my plan that is! Hahaha!"

BOOM!

One of the pillars exploded into crystal shards, due in part to a blast of fire that erupted from Salem's right hand, as the laughter continued.

"Not there, false one. Try again." Tyrian cackled while another blast of fire hit the pillar to her left, obliterating it within seconds. "Missed again, you really are slipping."

She growled while blasting another pillar, hoping to draw the faunus out into the open so she can finish him. "False? What are you blabbering about?!"

BOOM!

"Oh you know, false one, false deity, false goddess. The list goes on and on and on." he cackled while another pillar exploded into crystal shards. "Ooooh, you nearly got me that time, not!"

BOOM!

"You better start explaining! Or the next blast will be more than just a simple blast of fire." Salem growled, her hands glowing bright yellow as bolts of lightning sparked from her nails, disintegrating several pillars closest to her into dust.

"HAHAHAHA! Oh how the mighty have fallen, so quick to anger that you would even destroy the relics on your own throne, how amusing!" The faunus laughed while Salem blasted a nearby pillar, lighting sparking across the room to illuminate the faunus' shadow on the far left wall. "And to think, you faced the gods and made them run!"

'How does he know that!?' she thought before seeing the shadow and blasted a nearby pillar to pieces, only to see it was just a crudely made cardboard cutout of the man. 'Damn that man!'

"Aw, my poor little arts and crafts project. What did it even do to you?"

"Tyrian! Show yourself NOW!" she roared in rage before hearing the clacking of shoes behind her, causing her to turn towards her right.

Revealing a tall pale skinned man with long brown hair styled into a braided scorpion tail-like ponytail, gold eyes, two silver ring earrings on the earlobes, a single silver ring earring on the top of the left ear, wearing a white sleeveless jacket that was left open in the front to reveal several crisscrossing scars, cream colored bandages, brown leather vambraces, several dark brown leather belts strapped to the sides and waist, a long thin silver belt around the waist, white pants and brown shin high leather boots with gray diamond shaped knee guards, walking towards her while clapping his hands slowly and deliberately.

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

"Bravo. Bravo, spectacular job. Five star performance." he said with sarcasm, as Salem narrowed her eyes at him. "You should really consider becoming an actress, your anger is on par with some Spruce Willis' bad blueberry productions."

"Enough with the charades, explain why you stole the relics and chose NOT to bring them to me."

"Oh that." he cackled while grinning madly, his left hand rubbing his chin as if to contemplate the question. "Well, that's a long explanation, and it might take an entire year to explain. Mmmmm."

She narrowed her eyes at the faunus before noticing the silver belt around his waist, making her confused. 'Wait, when did he get that belt…and normally he would have his tail out and about? But I haven't seen hide or tail of it in several months.'

He smirked before turning to his left side, facing the nearby pillar in the process. "But I can summarize it for you, little tower girl."

'Oh, he's going to have his limbs ripped out of their sockets for that one!'

"I know the truth." he smirked while two gray pincer-like blades appeared on his braces. "You aren't the biggest fish in this universe, you were never the alpha predator."

Salem quickly sent a wave of Shadow Hands at the faunus, only for him to quickly tear them apart with his blades, jumping around like a frenzied animal as he moved towards the immortal and sliced off her arms.

SQUISH!

Only for them to regrow instantaneously as Tyrian jumped back and went behind the woman, kicking her hard in the spine, sending her flying into a pillar.

"The only god in this world is the one you tricked, the great Lord of Darkness himself, the God of all evil!" He laughed as Salem pulled herself out of the pillar and narrowed her eyes at the man.

"That pathetic deity? The one that KILLED my entire civilization, that's the one you sided with!? You idiotic fool!" She snapped with rage, recalling the pain the deity of magic gave her, along with his brother, towards her, her former lover and all of her civilization. "That god is long gone and even if the relics help you, he will destroy you!"

"Meh, so be it." he shrugged while seeing Salem forming bolts of lightning in her hands. "But before you start blasting me, I have a quick question."

"You dare ask a question to me, when I'm about to DESTROY YOU!?"

"Yep." he grinned while not letting the immortal even retort to his 'dumb' logic. "Here's the question, where does magic come from?"

"The God of Darkness you imbecile!"

"Well yeah, but HOW does he create the magic you use?" he clarified as Salem blinked in surprise, not expecting that question at all. "Well? Where does it come from?"

"..."

"Hello? Remnant to Salem? Are you there?"

"..."

He smirked with glee. "Ah, so you don't know huh? Whatever happened to being 'the smartest being in Remnant'?"

Salem narrowed her eyes in rage. "I might not know that answer, but it doesn't change the fact I will end your existence here and now!"

Tyrian shrugged while ignoring the bolts of lighting being fired towards him, allowing his body to quickly twist around the arcing electrical current as they grazed his sides, singing his clothes a bit in the process. "Well let me enlighten you on the matter, to make magic, the Lord of Darkness uses the Grimm, on various planets in this great universe and."

CLANK!

CLANK!

As the faunus paused momentarily for dramatic effect, an extremely long semi thin metallic silver scorpion tail covered in thin diamond shaped plates and sporting a conical shaped stinger with four needle shaped points on the sides, appeared from his belt and curled around his body, a deep purple aura forming on the tips as Tyrian's eyes glowed purple as well.

"KILLS EVERY SINGLE LIFE FORM ON THAT PLANET! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" he laughed while firing a deep purple blast of sound at Salem, blasting her left arm off in the process as the aura began to cover the stump like rust.

'What's this?' she thought before trying to regrow her arm, but failed to do so as her eyes widened in surprise. 'Why isn't my immortality kicking in!?'

BAAAM!

SQUISH!

As the immortal fell upon the ground, a severed right leg went flying across the room along with part of her robes, making her panic as Tyrian slowly moved closer to her with a triumphant look on his face.

"He kills without impunity, he kills without mercy, he kills because it's his nature. He grants magic to any species he likes and takes it away when he feels like it, all at the cost of several billion deaths." he chuckled as Salem slowly tried to get up, but stumbled every time, her face filled with panic and shock, partly from the attack and partly from the dark truth of her people's magical gift. "That is more important than simple genocidal self-suicide. Thus, I will summon them and bow before the Lord of Darkness."

"You…idiot…that god will never…let you even exist near him, much less bow at his feet." Salem groaned while a sonic blast hit her other leg, causing her to fall on her face.

"Perhaps, but I'd rather serve him for a moment than serve a false god like you." he said before moving the tail closer to her head. "But before I blast your head, here's a fun face."

Wooooooosh.

"My semblance can negate aura and magic, meaning that immortality, no matter how powerful, will be affected as well. Shame it only works for a while but."

BAM!

"It's worth it." he cackled as Salem's head exploded into blade ooze, the screen slowly gaining deep purple glitches as he walked to the relics. "Now."

As the faunus moved towards the relics and carefully placed them around the throne, the glitches began to become erratic, the visuals warping and distorting around the faunus as he sat on the throne and smirked.

"Now, come to me, my Lord of Darkness! Bring forth the end that Remnant deserves! Ahahahahaah…Ahahahahaah….HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!" Tyrian laughed with maniacal glee as the screen suddenly-

ZAP!

Kaiiiiiiiish.

Turned to static, a dark laughter formed from within the screen as a pair of crimson red eyes peered from the flurry of static 'snow.'

Bio: In this timeline, several weeks after the Fall of Vale, the Queen of the Queen, Salem, sent her most loyal assassin, Tyrian Callows, to locate the Spring Maiden for her own plans. However, unlike canon, he discovered and located the Branwen Tribe's main base of operations, deducing the identity of the Spring Maiden as Raven Branwen and attacked and crippled her via positioning her broken legs, although he lost his entire tail in the process. Forcing her to go to Haven Academy, he was able to obtain the password for the Vault of Knowledge and it's relic, however, upon asking the spirit, Jinn, the question 'How will my queen win?', she showed the faunus the full answer that he already knew, but added the image of the God of Darkness to try and dissuade him from using the final question. Instead of the intended effect, Tyrian became entranced with the deity's image and utilized the final question to ask 'Who is the God of Darkness and what is his purpose?'. Resigned to her fate, Jinn explained the horrible truth of the god of all darkness, the deity is not only a harbinger of destruction and the one to bestow humanity with magic, but to create the gift of magic the god must destroy all forms of species in the wider universe to maintain it, using the legions of Grimm he created on multiple planets to harvest the life energies of their victims to the dark deity so he can cover the life energy into magical power that he uses either to grant other species the potential of magic or grant the power of magic for himself. Hearing of this dark revelation, Tyrian began to question his own allegiance and became infatuated in summoning the gods to serve the one true Lord of Darkness, which soon led to him using this knowledge to obtain the relics under the premise of serving Salem, killing the Maidens once they served their purposes. Tracking down Pietro Polindina, he forced the Atlasain scientist to construct a new synthetic tail to replace the old one, which while stronger and capable of forming short and long ranged sonic blasts consisting of his own semblance, he is no longer to utilize the poison he utilized in the past, which he took well and began to weaponize his own semblance, mutating it slightly to target magical energies in the same manner as auras. When Salem discovered Tryian's actions and confronted him, the faunus was able to paralyze the immortal and cripple her long enough to utilize the relics for his own twisted desires, which allowed the Twin Gods to return to Remnant and judged it, obliterating the entire planet as Tryian laughs at his own nihilistic dream comes true. A great cosmic joke…with no one left to listen to the punchline.
