The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.
From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.
The Ruinverse: Chapter Forty Five, Ignarus Praesidium.
Xxxxxxx
-Remnant, Solitas, Atlas-
War, death, destruction.
This was the state of Atlas at the moment, a ruined city beset by monstrous creatures from the darkness itself, breaking through the human and faunus defenses and massacred thousands in a few hours.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BAM!
SWISH!
CLANG!
Everything was nearing the end of the twin cities Atlas and Mantle, for there were less Huntsmen to property fight against the monsters of Grimm and, with limited help from the Atlasian Knights, things seemed to be in favor of the invading force of unnatural nature.
All was lost as the Monstra Grimm loomed overhead, spawning more Grimm from it's mouth to replace the fallen as Salem watched on from on top of the flying whale.
However-
SWISH!
"Ah! Thundara!"
ZAP!
BOOM!
Something caught the immortal's eye, a blast of lightning from the heavens…heading towards some of her army on her left.
As she turned her gaze towards the blast zone, she felt something….familiar lingering in the air, something she hasn't felt in untold centuries.
"Aeroga!"
WOOOSH!
Her eyes widened as a small tornado formed out of nowhere, sending numerous Grimm flying in all directions as a lone figure seemingly rushed towards the inevitable flood, blackened ash dispersing across the battlefield at an alarming pace.
CLANG!
BAM!
BAM!
CLANG!
The immortal blinked in confusion and worry as the figure seemed to be making a sizable dent in her legions, making her think that the figure was either Ozma, the Silver Eyes, a Maiden or possibly a powerful Huntsmen, but shook those ideas out of her head as she knew they were impossible for many reasons.
One, Ozma was in her own stronghold.
Two, the Silver Eyes was still in Atlas.
Three, none of the Maidens, either allied with or against her, were anywhere near the battle between the Grimm and humanity's last hope for survival.
And four, no Huntsmen could use multiple elements all at once, especially in the middle of a battlefield.
No, this was something else, and she needed to find out what it was.
"I wonder." she muttered to herself before using her magical power to create a mini dark cloud around her legs, allowing her to take flight and descend towards the battle itself.
CLANG!
BAM!
"RRRO-"
"Firaga!"
BAM!
Salem turned to her left, seeing a rather large alpha Beowolf getting obliterated by a large ball of fire, as she felt the smoke blowing against her face and hair. "Huh, so it was you."
CLANG!
As the smoke settled and the ash of a sliced in half Sabyr Grimm scattered across the field, the lone figure revealed themselves as a short pale skinned girl with short black hair with a single long bang going down the right side of her forehead, blue eyes, a C cup chest and small ass, wearing a full-length long sleeved black leather coat with a hood sporting a waist-high slit on the back, close fitting sleeves, a large silver zipper, two silver drawstrings decorated with a large silver bead hanging from the ends, a silver chain ornament adorned with four large cylindrical silver beads fastened to a loop attached to the neckline, lobster claw-like clasps on the ends of the chain ornaments, semi pointed yet broad shoulders, black gloves, black leggings, black heeled boots with narrow toes, and holding a long silver key-like blade with a bright gold semi square guard, a blue rainguard, a gray hilt, a silver crown shaped teeth at the end of the blade, a long silver keychain with a silver mouse-like emblem at the end in her left hand, whose expression was filled with both confusion and determination as she placed her right hand onto the hilt as well.
"Huh?" the girl said before turning in the immortal's direction and blinked. "Who are you and why are you in this Heartless swarm? You need to get out of here right now."
"Heartless?"
"Yes, the black beasts that are all around you." She said before pointing her weapon at a nearby Nevermore. "Blizzara!"
SIZZZZ!
Sending shards of ice crystals at the flying nightmare, freezing it in place before shattering on contact with the ground.
"Fascinating." the immortal said out loud as the Grimm seemed to ignore her presence and moved past her. "A weapon capable of magic, and here I thought the Relics were the only ones."
"Please, get to safety." the mysterious girl said while slashing a Beowolf's head off with the blade, turning towards the woman with a worried expression. "This place isn't safe."
"I know, I was the one that started this battle." Salem said calmly as the girl quickly did a double take. "And I will not let anyone interfere with my machinations."
The mysterious girl quickly placed both hands on the blade's hilt, seemingly on guard as she stared down the immortal. "Wait, you caused the Heartless to form here? Just…how black is your heart?"
"They are called Creatures of Grimm. Heartless they might be, they are not the beings you are familiar with." Salem said before summoning Shadow Arms from the ground and sent them right towards the girl.
CLANG!
BAM!
Only for the Grimm to be destroyed instantly from her unusual weapon, making Salem's eyes widen in surprise.
'How? Just how is she capable of defeating the Grimm, and with that strange blunt weapon too!?' she thought to herself before seeing the girl running towards her.
CLANG!
BAM!
CLANG!
BAM!
And began to attack the immortal with a fury of blade strikes to the face, chest, arms and stomach as Salem quickly blocked the next attack and backhanded the girl, sending her flying into the air before she quickly jumped and landed on the ground.
"Ah…that one hurt." she groaned while blood dripped from her nose.
The immortal was about to summon another swarm of Shadow Hands when she saw something…..foreign in nature on her right palm.
Blood…crimson soaked blood with a small aura of gold aura around it.
Her….blood. Not black tar from the tainted pits that spawned her….but real warm blood.
And this terrified her greatly but also…excited her, filling her with a moment of relief she hasn't felt in untold years.
"...you…hurt…me…?" The immortal muttered in shock as the unknown combatant raised her blade into the air and caused several green 'leaves' and a small white rose to form over her head as she spoke the words 'Cura'. "You….actually….hurt me."
"You tried to hurt me, isn't that what normally happens with enemies?" 'Or something like that? I really don't know, Somebodies are strange.'
"You….out of every single human and faunus here…hurt me." Salem muttered as a chuckle formed from her throat, then a cackle before she started to laugh with mania, causing the unknown warrior to flitch a little. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!"
'What the…she reminds me of XII. But….even more…um….what was the word? Strange?'
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Oh foolish mortal." she cackled while her eyes became filled with determination and hope mixed with madness. "You have brought forth the means of my salvation."
The mysterious girl cocked her head in confused terror as seveal of the 'Heartless' around her began to for form a protective circle around her and the unhinged woman. "What do you mean? Salvation from what?"
"My existence, the pain of living in this accused body! You have done something not even Ozma could EVER try in a million years." She grinned while raising her arms out to the sides. "Come, stranger with the power of magic, come and face me, Salem, the greatest threat to this planet. Come and destroy me, be the hero that this world lacks and end my existence! Save this world doomed to extinction and be remembered as the witch slayer! Come on! Face me child! FACE ME!"
The girl stared at the immortal with concern, looking around for a way to escape and possibly report this to her 'superiors', to prevent the further meddling of this world, but the 'Heartless' blocked every possible escape route, making her feel trapped like a rat. 'This isn't right, I can't just kill someone. Heartless maybe but a Somebody….that isn't right.'
"What are you waiting for!? Come at me with that blade!"
"No, I will not use the keyblade to kill you." the girl said with a sad frown. "That isn't the right thing to do, even if you control the Heartless with darkness."
"Right? RIGHT!? You condemn me to eternal life because you DON'T think it's RIGHT!? I have been on this planet since time in memorial! I have seen civilizations fall and hearts break! I had my life stolen away and twisted into a miserable existence of hate, spite and revenge! And you WANT me to remain alive because you have a moral center!?" Salem yelled with fury, boiling hot black tears flowing down her cheeks as she seemed to be at her breaking point. "You idiotic child! You and that 'keyblade' have the power to END the curse the gods left on me! To let me pass on to see my daughters! To see the other side of death that they denied me for so long! You can save my soul but instead….YOU let me live because of some sappy 'I'm the good guy' mentality!? Ozma chose that path, his followers went down that path, the Silver Eyes went down that path, and now YOU chose the path of 'the greater good'!?"
[Insert Kingdom Hearts OST- Sinister Shadows.]
"I…I-"
The immortal roared with fury as she summoned one hundred Shadow Hands and forcefully, with a ball of red energy, fused them together into a massive black greatsword with three red diamond teeth at the top and a red crystalline keychain at the hit sporting a single red eye as she held it in her right hand. "If you can't do the deed yourself, I WILL FORCE YOU!"
The girl's eyes widened as she quickly rolled out of the way of the immortals' blade, black flames erupting from the deep cut made to the earth, as she pointed her keyblade at the immortal. "I don't know what's going on but if this will save that city, I will face you down."
"RRRRRAAAAAHHHHHH!" Salem screamed with berserker's rage as her body began to leak out both black and gold particles, her body brimming with magical might that she has been storing for millenia, now ready to bombard the stranger with it's might.
SWWISH!
BOOOM!
Black flames erupted from the slashes made by the immortal's blade as she attempted to use brute force against the girl, only to miss as she rolled away from the attack, quickly moving behind the immortal as her cloak was singed near the ends.
"Light!"
SWIIIIIZZZZ!
WOOSH!
As the user of the keyblade raised her blade to the sky, she quickly caused four beams of light blue light to rain down in front of her and went careening towards the immortal, using this to stun the berserk woman as she rolled away and continued the barrage of light based attacks, hoping to incapacitate her from a distance.
But Salem, now finally letting her hate and despair override her superior mind, shrugged off the attacks, regardless of if her immortality was healing her or not.
For she was now desperate for this stranger, one with a 'keyblade' of unknown powers, to end her life here and now instead of wasting her time with Maidens, Relics and the constant interference of Ozma.
"RRRAAA! I WILL NOT BE DENIED!" She roared before puncturing the ground with her blade, sending seven vertical walls of black flames towards every direction, causing the girl to quickly break her barrage of light attacks and try to roll to safety.
WOOOSH!
"AHH!" the mysterious girl cried out while getting seriously burned by the attack, despite her cloak's natural resistance to darkness. 'Just like Axel's flames but even hotter! What even is she now!?'
"END MY EXISTENCE!" Salem roared in fury before pulling the blade back out and dashed towards the girl, glazed slightly by the attack, and attempted to cut her down.
"Reflect!"
SHING!
Only to be blocked by a see-through rectangular wall of magic that caused her to be pushed back, which was followed by the mysterious girl's rapid swings of her blade, causing visible damage to the immortal's body as red blood dripped down her hands and face.
"Please submit now, I really don't want to hurt you any more than I have to."
CLANG!
BAM!
CLANG!
BAM!
CLANG!
"NOT UNTIL I FEEL THE EMBRACE OF DEATH!" Salem roared before slamming her blade down upon the girl's head, causing her to crash into the ground before she quickly blocked the next strike with her keyblade, despite the large cut on her forehead. "END MY LIFE! DO IT!"
"Stop this, if you continue this then the darkness will swallow your heart!"
"MY HEART FELL TO DARKNESS WHEN THE GODS CURSED ME!" she roared before getting pushed back, allowing the unknown girl to quickly roll back and raise her keyblade up.
"Curaga!" the girl yelled as a massive assortment of magical roses formed over her head and healed all the injuries sans the cut on her forehead.
"WHY WON'T YOU JUST SUBMIT!?"
"Because I will not let this city fall, even if I'm meddling with this world's affairs." she said with conviction as she pointed her keyblade at the immortal. "I will defeat you, but I will not allow your death."
Salem growled with anger as she began to pour all of her magical energy into the weapon, causing gold and black flames to form around it, as the girl's eyes widened in surprise for a moment. "YOU HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER!"
WOOOSH!
"DEFEAT ME, KILL ME! THAT IS WHAT YOU HEROES DO BEST!"
The mysterious girl blinked before her body began to glow bright white, her blade gaining the same coalition as well while black thorn-like tendrils formed over her body for a brief moment. "I am no hero, I'm just a meddlesome Nobody that got lost."
"THEN DIE LIKE THE NOBODY YOU ARE!" Salem roared before swinging the blade downwards, the flames about to make contact with the ground before the immortal saw the stranger 'fly' towards her and made continuous barrages to her body, severing tendons and muscle fibers in the process. "AAAH!"
"TAKE THIS!"
WOOOSH!
From her body, four beams of thin light with a single crown on the top appeared and quickly flew in every direction, including where the immortal was standing.
SHING!
"AHHHH!" The immortal cried out as the intense light caused her body to burn, her arms and legs becoming useless due to the burns and cut tendons, as she fell on her back, the blade instantly dissipating into black ash, and began gasping for air. "Ahh…ah…"
The girl quickly stood over the body as she was considering her options, between killing the woman or sparing her life.
"Ah…ah…do…it…please…"
"I can't. My mission wasn't to kill a witch from a world I haven't been assigned to." the girl said with a sad expression. "I came here by accident, I was supposed to be in a great desert with my friends, not here in this…place."
"Ah…then…why stay?"
"I didn't want to see the people hurt." she said as the immortal noticed for the first time that the girls' expressions seemed…false, almost forced.
"Yet…you feel nothing at a..ll…."
The girl's eyes widened in surprise. "You knew?"
"Only…now…but." Salem gasped while losing all feeling in her limbs. "You can leave…or kill me…but this world will fall either way."
"What are you talking about?"
"Kill me….and the Grimm shall stay dormant for a while…leave and I shall…destroy the planet with unholy wrath…" she said with a dark chuckle. "Either way….I shall be…free of this prison…"
"...I feel pity for you, although you know I can't feel anything."
"Heh, pity not for me. I…was damned…the moment I came to this world…" she said while struggling to speak, her ribs broken by the keyblade's blunt edge. "But…the choice is…yours. Run away…and let humanity fall….kill me…and you will be a hero…for a delayed…armageddon."
The mysterious girl looked upon the immortal with mixed 'feelings', as she extended her left hand and pushed against the air.
Only for nothing to happen.
She felt her 'heart' sink as she tried again and again, with the same result occurring as the immortal chuckled. "Why can't I CoD?"
"I..see…you can not leave…" Salem chuckled as the girl turned back to her. "You…have no excuse now…kill me."
"I…I can't."
"Do…not deny me…this death. Give me this death…."
"I-"
"Give…me this death….or are you…the puppet of…someone e…lse's destiny?" the immortal mocked as the mysterious girl felt 'anger' and 'pain' from the woman's words.
"..." the mysterious 'keyblade' warrior pointed her blade at Salem's heart and gripped her left hand tightly.
"G…ood…but humor me…what is…your name?"
"...it's." she said as the entire screen turned bright light.
(End of flashback)
-Atlas, New Atlas Sector, Pathos Heights-
The screen slowly faded away as the bright light dimmed to a pitch black hue, only illuminated slightly by a thin line of sunlight on the far right side of the dark room.
All seemed quiet.
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
Until an alarm clock shattered the calm and caused a groan to be heard, sounding rather annoyed by the sudden wake up call.
"Mmmmmmm…stupid…clock…"
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
Click.
"Much…better." the voice said before going silent.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
For about ten seconds, as a Scroll rang in the background, making the voice groan in frustration.
"Damn…it, who is calling me…" the voice groaned while looking at the alarm clock, which was currently set at 4:01 AM. "Four in the morning!? Ugh….this better be good."
Ring.
Ring.
Click.
"Hello?"
"Councilwoman Shion, you are needed at the RSDI. The project is nearly done." a voice said while the figure yawned and seemed slightly awake, but not by much.
"Why couldn't you call at seven or better yet, nine?"
"Sorry, but this is important. Especially when you hold the only component needed to activate the machine."
"Yawn…I will be there at seven thirty, maybe later. I'm still tired from having to file paperwork."
"For the Remora Kingdom treaty?"
"That's the one."
"I see, then I shall see you later Councilwoman Shion. And try to make it on time."
Click.
"Ugh….I really hate mornings." the figure muttered before going back to sleep.
(Later on)
BEEP!
BEE-
Click.
"Ugh….." the voice groaned while the sound of creaking wood echoed in the darkened room, the line of sunlight brighter than before and revealing several dark shadows on the walls and floor. "Mornings…bah."
As the figure, the only thing visible of their own form was a black silhouette on the floor that twisted into indistinguishable shapes by the sunlight outside, moved towards the other end of the room, the creaking of wood emanated from said spot and revealed an open white tiled bathroom with neon cyan lights.
Click.
Only for the room to be plunged into limited darkness once more as the sound of rushing water echoed behind the door.
(A bit later)
Click.
"Mmmmmmmmmmm." groaned the silhouette while the room seemed to be a little lighter than before, showing dark navy blue wallpaper and a green tiled floor, as they moved out of the bathroom, steam emanating from the brightly lit room, before moving towards a built-in sliding door closet. "I hate….mornings…these days." 'I used to enjoy it…ugh.'
Sooosh.
Click.
"Mmmmmmmmmm….another day, another waste of time….need coffee." they groaned as the screen suddenly went black.
(Later)
Woooooooossssshhhhhhhhhh!
The sounds of engines rang across the Atlasian skyline, formerly white and navy blue in color and oppressive in design but now covered in a myriad of different colors as enormous spiraling skyscrapers dotted the landscape in every direction, as an Atlasian Manta, colored bright gold and sea blue compared to the normal colorization, flew towards the eastern end of the city.
Zipping past several smaller airships and the occasional steampunk styled buildings, the camera moved downwards to reveal streets of both humans and faunus, walking, driving streamline vehicles or managing small shops, going about their lives without worry or discrimination.
As the airship turned to the right side of a large obelisk-like skyscraper, the camera quickly zoomed towards the cockpit and into the white metallic compartment, a figure on the far right hand side of the ship was currently looking at a sea blue Scroll with a three pronged crown emblem on it's back while also seemingly not following the proper seatbelt regulations aka not using it at all.
This figure, who would ignore a proper safety feature, was a tall pale skinned woman with short neck length black hair with a single long bang going down the left side of her forehead and partially covered her left eye, blue eyes, a long vertical scar going down the right side of her forehead towards the left side of her nose, a F cup chest and wide ass, light purple nails with a golden three pronged crown in the center, wearing a short sleeved light purple overcoat with sea blue lining near the sides and collar, a sea blue shirt with black lining near the chest area, thick silver zippers near the sides and cleavage with large cylindrical silver beads tied to the holes, black three pronged crown-like shoulder guards that extended to the elbows as the left and right points curved around the chest and shoulder blades, a black makuta-like helmet that extended to under the earlobes with vertical rounded corners near the top and three pointed prongs on the sides and center of the helmet, a gold three pronged crown emblem on the front of the helmet that was held together by two joints in a similar manner to a visor, rounded yellow 'eyes' on the sides of the 'visor', sea blue fingerless gloves with black metallic armor points on the palms, two silver seashell bracelets on her wrists, a thin sea blue belt with two small pouches attached to the sides, black silk rectangular sampot that went down to her ankles and was tied in a double knot near the left side of her waist as silver threads lined the sides, and light purple heeled shoes with a single black metallic curved point at the toes, whose extression was a mix of tiredness and anticipations, mostly the former.
"Mmmmmm." she hummed to herself while looking at the screen, seemingly watching an Atlas Eye report.
"And in other news, peace agreements with the newly formed Renora Kingdom have gone south due to the disappearance of one Nora Ren, self-proclaimed sovereign of the independent Kingdom of Renora, just weeks before the signing of the Renora/Atlasian Treaty. It seems war might be on the horizon as Lie Ren, King of Renora, is unwilling to comment on this strange disappearance." said Velvet Adel, news anchor of the Atlas Eye and Huntress of Vale, while reading from her papers, her bent left ear twitching slightly. "This ongoing crisis might in fact lead to another war, something common with this new Kingdom. Now for the morning Atlas-Weather forecast."
"Still can't believe she became a new anchor." said one of the pilots as he overheard the news from his current position, via the Scroll's volume being on max. "I'd thought, given her status as 'Slayer of the Crown', she would be a celebrity in Vauco."
"Nah, if anything she might become a model like her wife." said the second pilot as she shrugged a little.
"True, but still. I never expected that at all."
"Yeah, I mean a lot has changed. For the better it seems."
"Oh tell me about it, the Grimm are less destructive, Ironwood is imprisoned for his coup against the government-"
"And for trying to kill us with a city destroying weapon, the city BEING the weapon."
"I know, and then." he pointed to the woman behind him. "She pops up, saves Atlas and helps unite the Kingdoms. I mean woah, she really did help us a lot."
The second pilot nodded. "Without her contributions and position in the council, I really don't think we would even be here."
"Agreed."
"I understand you like to chat." said the woman while looking from her Scroll. "But I am right here, got that memorized?"
"Oh sorry Councilwoman Shion." the first pilot said quickly, with a sheepish smile on his face. "Kinda got caught up on your accomplishments."
"...they aren't really considered accomplishments, more like missions than anything else." she said with a sigh, seemingly embarrassed by the praise.
"Mission? Councilwoman Shion, you literally saved Remnant from the Grimm, you saved the city from destruction and you fixed the damages Ironwood and Jacques Schnee caused during the embargo. If those weren't accomplishments then I don't know what will." he said before the woman looked back at her Scroll. "Anyway, we will be at the Remnant Science and Developmental Institution in a few clicks of a second."
"...what?" both the councilwoman and the co-pilot asked with puzzled expressions.
"You know, clicks, seconds, time….nevermind." 'I really need to stop making expressions on the fly.'
As the councilwoman turned her head away from the pilot's direction, she looked upon her Scroll and began to read various articles on the CCT Network, each one with various titles such as 'White Fang High Leader Missing!?', 'Branwen Kingdom's Queen…Conspiracy of Disappearance', 'Neo Schnee Dust Company CEO Vanishes for Two Weeks, Company Fallout?', 'Headmistress Scandals…Died in Action or Eloped?' and various other titles.
'Soon.' Shion muttered while the camera panned away to reveal a massive white and purple clockwork tower in the center of the city, thick purple Gravity Dust shards lining the walls and gears as several circular heart-like objects floated around the tower like miniature planets. 'All will be right in this world….I hope at any rate…ugh, I still need more coffee.'
(Later on)
-Remnant Science and Developmental Institution-
Clank.
Clank.
Clank.
The councilwoman moved past the sliding glass doors and into the sparkling white and purple tiled room as several scientists, all from different Kingdoms and species, were busy creating works of technological wonder.
From aura infused armor and instant manifesting blades utilizing Hard Light and Gravity Dust to Fire Dust laced butter knives and nevermelting Sea Salt ice cream, all these things and countless more were the results of Councilwoman Shion's desire to unify Remnant after the fall of Salem herself, to make it feel less like five different 'worlds' in a single 'world' and a centralized 'world' similar to her own…'world', although at this moment, no one in Remnant knew what she meant and even when agreeing to her ideas of peace…it was still hard to truly understand this woman's terminology half the time.
However, Shion herself wasn't interested in these new technologies, even though she stole one of the Sea Salt ice cream prototypes out of 'habit', as she was currently walking towards a silver elevator with a three pronged crown emblem in the center of the doors.
'Mmm, it needs more salt. It tastes kinda bitter.' she thought to herself while the doors opened and she entered the elevator, moving her free hand to press one of the silver buttons, one labeled 'BB13'.
Beep.
'I really hope this is worth the rude awakening.' she thought to herself as the doors closed and the screen went black.
(A few minutes later)
Beep.
As light returned and the screen became illuminated once more, Shion stepped out of the elevator and into a long dark gray hallway with cyan lines running down the floor and ceiling, giving it an ominous air in the process.
Clank.
Clank.
Clank.
The sound of her own metal tips hitting against the metallic floor rang out as the councilwoman finished the popsicle stick and, upon reaching a steel door with a golden three pronged crown emblem on the front, placed it in the nearby garbage can.
Swish.
The doors quickly moved upwards as the woman entered a large dark gray spacious room, about ten miles deep, with large black metallic walls coated with thick cyan colored Hard Light Dust tubes lining the bottom and sides, millions of rows of dark cylindrical glass canisters spanning the top and bottom walls in rows of ten, four large lasers attached to the sides of the walls with two light blue tubes connected to a conical point, a large circular platform underneath the lasers with five deep red and black glass circles in the center as a single large circle dominated the other smaller circles, where many scientists were busy on the nearby computer terminals and seemingly ignorant of her arrival.
That was until one of the scientists, a young female black bear faunus with small bear ears, walked over and smiled at the 'visitor'.
"Ah, Councilwoman Shion, welcome." she said with a chuckle as the councilwoman sighed.
"I keep telling you, it's Xion, not Shion."
"My apologies but Shion sounds a little better."
She rolled her eyes a little as the scientist walked over to a large metallic black keyhole fused to one of the computer terminals. "You said the project is nearly complete, is that right?"
"Yes, it just needs your 'keyblade' to activate the TGP's central processor and jumpstart the AI." the scientist said while pointing her left hand at Xion. "We would have attempted much earlier, but…your unique abilities can't be replicated unfortunately."
"Mmmm, you have a point. The keyblade isn't a tool for the people, but one that selects it's user based on their 'heart'." she said while walking over to the keyhole. "This world, untouched by outsiders, has never faced the darkness in one's hearts, or learned of the consequences. Something I plan to keep from happening."
FLASH!
In a flash of black energy, came a long black key-like blade with a red guard, a black rainguard, gold ring around the top and bottom of the black hilt, three crystalline black spikes at the end of the blade, two crystalline red spikes on the opposite end of the 'teeth' that curled upwards towards the point, two dark purple eye-like crystals near the guard with purple cracks forming near the blade and portions of the hilt and a long crystalline black keychain with a deep red eye emblem at the end, which quickly materialized in Xion's left hand as she pointed the tip of the blade at the keyhole, which glowed a tainted dark purple in response.
Sooooish.
Zap!
And instantly a beam of pure darkness hit the keyhole, causing it to shine brightly before a loud 'click' was heard and the keyhole's purple hue dimmed and became inactive.
"It is ready." she said while turning to the scientist, the faunus stunned at the strange 'keyblade' in the woman's hand. "You can create the first batch."
"Ok…but what is that?"
She cocked her head to the side. "What is what?"
"The blade in your hands…it's not the same as the one you used to slay the Grimm." the faunus said while pointing to the dark 'keyblade'.
"Oh that, it is a different keyblade, one I forged myself." she said with a smile, one seemingly forced yet calming to anyone looking at her. "Keyblades, as I have lectured about before, can be altered by a keychain or by outside influences. Mine is the latter."
"I…I see." the scientist said before seeing the blade vanish into a puff of black energy.
"Now, please activate the machine." she said calmly while the scientist quickly nodded and ran to her station, the other scientists following soothe as they began to power up the machine.
Zap.
Zap.
Deep blue lighting formed from the lasers as the red circles began to glow bright crimson, the canisters glowing bright blue as glowing pink crystalline 'hearts' began to float within said canisters.
Xion stared at the machine as the 'hearts' began to be consumed by black energy, which caused several luminous light and purple orbs to form over the five red circles as the lightning zapped each one in rapid succession.
And on each one, were several strange creatures sporting a small smooth conical dark purple body with a flared out jagged 'collar', a pitch black spherical head, deep yellow eyes, a dark purple conical hat with a pointed brim, dark purple crystalline spikes jutting from the sides of the hat and formed a curled tip, small thin three toed feet, and had a gold three pronged crown emblem with thick black thorns around the prongs on its chest, as they floated over the spots of their creation, seemingly lacking any form of conscious thought.
"What are those things!?" one of the scientists yelled before one of the creatures floated towards him and was about to attack him with a ball of concentrated gravity when Xion raised her left hand outwards, causing it to stop and turn in her direction.
"Mmmm, an interesting species of Heartless." she muttered while her hand was covered in darkness. "A new one perhaps…ah, that's a good one. A Purple Coda."
The 'Heartless' stared at the councilwoman before floating back towards the machine, the other 'Purple Coda's' staring at the girl with twitching impatience.
"Is…is this the force needed to…defeat the Grimm?" asked another scientist while feeling terrified at these new creatures, like every part of his body wanted to run, hide or do something other than be in this room.
"Yep." Xion said with a calm yet cheerful tone. "And once the TGP produces another batch of Heartless, we can start using them as a new 'army' to get rid of all the Grimm in this world. I mean it is the best way for peace after all."
"But is it safe? Are they capable of being….given orders?"
"That's debatable but as long as I'm protecting Remnant, they will follow my orders." she said while turning around and smirked. "Got that memorized?"
"Um….."
"Good." she said while snapping her fingers and caused the 'Heartless' to vanish in balls of black and white energy. "I will be checking up on the project later, I have a lot of paperwork to do."
"Oh you mean paperwork about the criminal, the so-called Maiden?"
"Yes." she said while walking out of the room, allowing one of the scientists to whisper in his co-workers ear.
"I just got word about it last night." he said while Xion moved towards the elevator and clicked the 'up' bottom. "But the Maiden disappeared."
"Wait, how? She was placed in a semblance nullifying room."
"I don't know, but this is foreboding. If she were to appear in Atlas again, then we would have a problem, a big one."
The co-worker gulped as Xion entered the elevator, her smile remaining the same as the doors began to close. "That would be bad, but that won't be a problem. Councilwoman Shion is a heroine and a match for several hundred Grimms."
Click.
As the door began to close, a small slit of light formed within the growing darkness, revealing a pair of glowing gold eyes in the process.
"She can protect us from evil no problem."
Clank.
And just like that, the screen became pitch black as everything faded into oblivion.

Bio: In this timeline, during the Fall of Atlas, the Grimm were overrunning everything and Team RWBY and Team JNR are at their breaking points trying to get help from the other Kingdoms, even with the assistance of Penny. All seemed lost….until a surprise visitor appeared from outside the Ruinverse and the RWBYverse itself. This being, originally from Dimension 011987123- 01 BPXKH or the Beta Prime KingdomHeartsverse, known simply as Xion, accidentally appeared in this timeline/world due to a Corridor of Darkness accident that left her stranded in this chaotic 'world' while also killing her best friend Roxas in the process, granting her his powers as a result. Seeing the chaos and wanting to help stop the 'Heartless', using her unique magical abilities and the keyblade, a weapon capable of near infinite good and evil, to defended Atlas from destruction and even took the battle to Salem herself, grievously wounding her due to the keyblade's unique nature nullifying Salem's immortality. Seeing this as her salvation, she willingly allowed Xion to kill her, causing the Grimm to become leaderless and left the battle, saving Atlas and making Xion a hero in the eyes of Remnant. For the next fifteen years, Xion, growing older yet remaining youthful due to her Nobody nature, utilized her skills, which have grown tenfold due to Organization XIII's lacking influence and general confidence, and fame, to unify the Kingdoms into a more stable civilization as she gained a place in the Atlasian Council and the position of Atlas Academy's Headmistress after James Ironwood's attempted coup during the Siege of Atlas. While she had gained the power, respect and friendship of many, she felt helpless about a single glaring truth….her actions only made a temporary fix for Remnant and true peace, a world without the Grimm was impossible even with her powers and she was delaying the inevitability of their destruction by a few years or less. All seemed lost, until one stressful night's sleep, Xion subconsciously accessed the memories of Sora, the boy whose powers and abilities were derived from, more specifically the memories of the dreaded Ansem's Reports that the boy had access to, and learned the blueprints of a great machine that could deliver Remnant from the Grimm forever….The Heartless Manufactory, the very conduit for the Heartless invasion of her own timeline, the destruction of Radiant Garden, the birth of Organization XIII itself and her own existence. Hesitant at first about recreating this dangerous weapon, she recalled the near destruction of Atlas by a unified force of Grimm and how the Heartless, the darkest beings in all the 'worlds' could rival the Grimm in strength and numbers. Thus, utilizing the greatest scientists of Remnant, began constructing the machine, known to the scientists as The Gate of Preservation or TGP, as a way to create an army of Artificial Heartless, using her own keyblade as a beacon to bring in Pureblood Heartless from outside the Ruinverse to both transform them into Artificial Heartless and replenish her ranks when needed, to protect Remnant and destroy the Grimm permanently. However, despite using her own Nobody powers and her influence as the only Organization XIII member in this timeline to help control the Heartless, it was still not enough and, after taking seven 'hearts' from seven Huntress, these being Ruby Rose, Headmistress of Signal Academy, Weiss Schnee, Head of the Neo Schnee Dust Company, Blake Belladonna, High leader of the White Fang, Yang 'Branwen' Xiao Long, the leader of the newly formed Branwen Kingdom, Nora Valkyrie, Queen of the newly formed Renora Kingdom, Emerald Sustrai, Mistral's new Headmistress, and an incarcerated Cinder Fall respectively, to recreate the Keyblade to Heart in it's completed form, began to transform those with strong 'hearts' into Nobodies that she can control as her personal guard as the Heartless eliminate all opposition to her plans. In a way, she did create a utopia safe from Salem's madness….but it's in reality, a dystopia of ruined intentions, her mind set on protecting her adopted home at the cost of losing herself to that goal.
