The Ruinverse Chapter 51- The Red Rose, a rwby fanfic

The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.

From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.

The Ruinverse: Chapter Fifty One, The Red Rose.

-Remnant, Sanus, Vale, Beacon Academy, CCTS Tower-

Clank.

The shattered moon loomed over the wondrous castle of Beacon, the night sky shining with lights as currently, the Beacon Dance was occurring in the lower areas, the upper portions of the castle including the CCTS Tower being guarded by very few individuals of worth.

However, right in the CCTS Tower itself, the sound of heels clicking on the floor echoed from the nearest elevator, revealing themselves as a tall fair skinned woman with long ashen-black hair that covers her left eye and went down her left shoulder, amber eyes, a D cup chest and large ass, wearing a black sleeveless jacket, a black zipper that was pulled down below the exposed breasts, a black glass domino mask, long black mosaic lined gloves that ended part way up her upper arms, several black straps with black Dust canisters lining across her thighs, black mosaic lined pants and black mosaic lined stiletto heel boots, who was currently holding a Scroll in one hand and listening in to a black earpiece in her right ear.

As she looked down at the knocked out guards, Atlasian in attire, she smirked and began moving towards the control consoles with malicious intent.

"Oh! That's handy." she muttered to herself while hearing some static in her earpiece.

"A party guest is leaving."

She grumbled while sighing heavily, internally hoping nothing will come of this inconvenience. "Which one?"

"Ironwood."

She groaned while placing the Scroll on the console, typing in a 'random' code into the keyboard as a result while a black Queen chess piece appeared on the screen. 'It had to be the insane one, ugh.'

"Should we intervene?"

"No...we're done here." The woman muttered while the screen began to light up and turned towards the elevator, only to see the R of Team RWBY walking in, scythe in hand, causing the woman to internal curse at her luck as two curved obsidian glass blades formed from her clothes. 'SHIT!'

"Hello?" Ruby said before stumbling on her high heels, causing them to break as she fell on the floor. "Ah! Fudge monkey! My shoes!"

The woman smirked while Ruby looked upwards and saw the woman, making her very confused as she kicked her shoes off and grabbed her scythe.

"Excuse me? You know, it's not a masquerade party, so why don't you take off that-" she tried to say before dodging black glass shards that formed from the woman's belt, glowing bright orange, as she quickly used her scythe to block the attacks. "Hey!"

BAM!

Bullets and glass rained across the enclosed space as Ruby noticed the woman forming her blades again out of her own attire, making her swing down with her blade before using the momentum of her weapon to dodge an incoming arrow of glass.

BOOOM!

Which exploded in her face, burning her a little as her aura began to heal the wound.

'This is getting ridiculous!' the mysterious woman thought before turning her long obsidian glass bow into a pair of swords again. 'I need to get rid of her right now! Silver Eyes or not, I need no witnesses!'

'OW! That hurt!' Ruby thought before seeing the woman rushing right towards her, which in that one instant, caused her instincts as a Huntress to kick in.

SQUISH!

"AH!" the woman gasped as the scythe pierced her stomach, her aura shattered on contact as blood dripped from her mouth.

Ruby, her mind in tunnel vision, quickly pulled the blade out and transformed the scythe into its rifle mode before inserting a purple canister and turning it in the opposite direction. "GRAVITY!"

BOOOOOOM!

This caused both her and the mysterious woman to go flying through the floor, breaking through several floors before landing in the ballroom below, scaring the students and staff alike as Ruby used her semblance to get away from the floor just in time.

CRACK!

Although for the woman herself, she wasn't so lucky as she created a small crater in the floor, her now limp body broken and lifeless as an orange energy shot out from her eye and hit Ruby, now standing right next to Emerald And Mercury, both shocked at what just happened, and caused her body to glow orange temporally.

"Ah….ah…." Ruby panted as the two 'Haven' students quickly ran away, terrified about the fact their 'leader' was now dead. "Ah…woah. That was surprising, I mean Gravity Dust in an HCSS seemed like a good idea and…um….why is everyone looking at me like that?"

The music ceased as the students, including Ruby's own team, stared at her in shock and disbelief.

For, how could they react when they just saw Ruby Rose, the youngest student of Beacon, kill a woman in apparent cold blood!?

"What?" Ruby asked while feeling a little off-put at the fearful stares, not noticing General James Ironwood walking right behind her. "Um…what's going on?"

"Miss Rose."

She turned and saw the Atlas Academy headmaster staring at her.

"Please come with me."

"Um…am I in trouble?" she asked before seeing the body, causing her eyes to widen as the older man turned her away, knowing that this was her first real kill.

"No, but I need to speak with you." he said while giving Ozpin a subtle nod. "In private."

Ruby felt her eyes wander back to the body of the mysterious woman, her blood staining the floor crimson as she was gently nudged away by the Atlasian general, her mind racing as she felt….confused about the entire event. 'I…killed her?'

As the camera zoomed towards the body, the screen began to glow a faint orange hue, soon dyed crimson red as everything suddenly turned black.

(Many years later)

-Menagerie, Kuo Kuana-

The moonless sky shone over the capital of this so-called 'haven' for faunus kind as everyone was asleep in their beds, hoping to wake up tomorrow and go about their lives in peace and relative tranquility.

For all the world, it was an average night, one filled with the calm sea breeze and gentle sound of crashing waves against the surf.

However…..in the distance, a figure flew across the sky, not in an airship, but as a single individual glowing with cyan hues, and right towards the city itself.

WOOOOSH!

And it was moving fast towards the shoreline, bursts of cyan flames appearing from the figure's legs as they moved right towards the Belladonna residence, long since abandoned after an unexplained fire destroyed portions of the building and killed its occupants in their sleep.

WOOOOSH!

Clank.

Landing upon the ground, the figure looked at the burnt down building, portions of it covered in moss and ash, as they moved towards the entrance way and stared down at the floor.

SHING!

SWISH!

Only to slash the ground with a cyan scythe that appeared in their left hand, breaking a wooden door to reveal a set of stairs leading deep into the earth, apparently manmade and recent.

The figure walked down the stairs as the scythe vanished instantly, disappearing into their armor, as they disappeared into darkened earth.

(Later)

Clank.

Down, down went the figure, their cyan lines glowing faintly in the darkness, as they went deeper into the earth, seemingly stretching onwards for several miles, as they seemed to be on guard.

Clank.

The figure stopped and stared at a dead end, a line of light forming around the edges into a rectangular shape.

SHING!

SWISH!

CRASH!

The rectangular door, metallic in nature, fell towards the light, sliced vertically by a cyan scythe, and slammed onto the ground, allowing the figure to walk into the room, which was revealed to be a touch lit steel bunker with a black throne in the center of the room and several gray tables covered in Dust crystals, weapon parts and schematics depicting Atlas and it's various territories.

The figure looked at one of the tables and noticed several red circles and x marks on it, revealing an invasion plan for the capital of the Kingdom of Atlas…all with the seal of the White Fang on the upper left corner stamped upon its paper surface. "..."

Wissssssh.

The figure turned to their left, allowing the touch light to create eerie shadows on the floor and walls, and quickly formed a scythe from their right and left hands. "I know you're here. My scanners can detect Dust particles, and you're coated in the stuff."

Clank!

WOOSH!

CLANK!

Instantly, the figure turned around, blocking an attack from their behind, as they saw a tall fair skinned young woman with long wavy black hair that was tied into a single long ponytail that went down to her legs like a cat's tail and was held together by a black band, amber eyes with black cateye eyeshadow, two black cat ears with round black piercings on the sides, a G cup chest and wide ass, a black onyx gemstone on her forehead, wearing a black long sleeved robe, a short black loose scarf that covered her low jaw and trailed downwards to her shoulders, rectangular black vambraces on her arms, black rectangular armor plates on her shoulders, knees, stomach, chest and feet, black shoulder length gloves with black metal pieces on the knuckles, a small black magnetic black pack on her back, a black obi, baggy black trousers, black knee length stockings, black wedged geta, and holding two curved black kama blades with thin interlocking chains connecting the hilt to an unseen part of the backpack and a single rifle-like muzzle attached to the base of the blades, in her hands glaring back at them with malice in their eyes.

"The Red Rose, treacherous scum." she growled before jumping back and vanished into the shadows, although her voice could still be heard. "You finally arrived to 'apprehend me', or are you going to kill me? Oh wait, you always chose the latter."

"Belladonna, come quietly or I-"

"I am no longer Belladonna." the faunus said before attempting to attack from the left, only to be pushed back by a scythe as she tried again on the right and front but was blocked each time. "I am no longer affiliated with that name."

CLANK!

"I."

CLANK!

"Am."

CLANK!

"Kage." she said while continuously attacking from all directions, keeping the figure from engaging in close quarters combat, as she quickly moved closer and fired several bullets at the figure.

BAM!

KLANK!

Only for the bullets to ricochet in every direction, destroying parts of the walls as 'Kage' disappeared into the shadows again.

"You ruined my life, you ruined everyone's life."

"I never did, you chose this path."

"Yet you chose the wrong answer that day." Kage frowned before firing again from the ceiling, causing a large circular cyan barrier to appear from the armor itself, blocking the bullets in the process. "Hard Light? Typical. You chose Atlas' superior technology over your own humanity."

"I never chose Atlas, Atlas chose me." the figure said coldly while more bullets fired at them, the barrier keeping them from hitting their intended target.

"Keep telling yourself that, while I avenge my honor, our honor." Kage said before throwing her kama at the barrier, shattering it as she jumped towards the figure, only for several scythes to appear all around the figure and slashed at her. "Tsk." 'Using Dust instead of tangible weapons, you really have fallen.'

SWISH!

CLANK!

"Stand still, criminal scum." the figure said before sending the cyan scythes at Kage's direction, cutting the tables in half as the faunus quickly jumped away from them and disappeared into the shadows once more. "Is this what the High Leader of the terrorist group, the White Fang, has to offer? Hiding like a coward?"

"It's not hiding." Kage said before a clicking sound could be heard, followed by a countdown screen popping out of the walls, revealing several timers with the numbers '2:00' on each one in red hues. "It's called distraction!"

Beep.

"I will not allow Atlas to have a weapon like you, who would destroy their own allies if they committed so-called 'crimes' against that Kingdom." Kage frowned while the figure looked around in surprise. "Once this room detonates, I will be hailed a hero by the world while you will be remembered as the butcher of Remnant. The betrayer of everything a Huntress should stand for!"

Beep.

"Goodbye, Red Rose. We will not meet again." Kage said before opening a secret door under the floor and jumped down, the door sealing shut as the figure looked around in worry.

'Oh no.'

(Elsewhere)

-Kuo Kuana, The Shallow Seas District-

The sealed entranceway of an abandoned shop, one close to the shoreline, slowly opened, revealing Kage, who was busy moving away from the entrance way and towards one of the pathways leading towards the port.

"Humans, such idiotic creatures." she muttered while dashing away, the wooden boards creaking under her feet. "Especially the Red Rose….the one that ruined everything."

KABOOOOOOOOOM!

In the distance, a massive explosion rocked the city, sending wooden boards and dirt into the air as the shockwave caused several houses to topple from their foundations.

"And now, that black mark on my life is over. Now, I must prepare for the war against the corrupted Atlasian government…hopefully the ADO backs us up like last time." she muttered to herself. 'And maybe her too….gods, I really miss her stupid puns.'

Woooooosh!

Her ears twitched as she felt something off, the air 'humming' all around her as she turned around.

SQUISH!

"GAH!" she cried out while getting hit by a massive red scythe with cyan lines dotting the blade and sides, her stomach bleeding out as her aura broke from the initial force of the attack itself. 'W-WHAT!?'

The scythe quickly pulled away, its shape revealed to be human-like near the base as its metal plates began to shift.

'No….it couldn't be….she would never use that stupid idea!'

Shink!

CLANK!

CLACK!

The metal slowly reformatted itself into a more feminine form as the mask, which had a circular cyan visor and rose-like thorns near the sides, began to part away, revealing the form of a very tall fair skinned young woman with short dull red hair with black tips, silver eyes, a G cup chest and large ass, wearing a thick metallic red long sleeved bodysuit with slim cyan lines going down the arms, legs, hips and back, thick curved black and red triangular plates on the back and sides of the head with semi circular cyan 'holes' near the lower neck, slim metallic red gloves with triangular plates going from the palms to the shoulders, a dull red underbust corset-like frame lined with a crystalline cyan orb in between the cleavage, a short metallic black cloak with red lining and several curved cyan points at the ends, slim red triangular metal plates going up the legs and around the waist, and slim metallic red boots with a single cyan heel.

"You…actually turned yourself into a scythe."

"It was the first thing I wanted in this weapon during my academic years." the woman said coldly while seemingly detached from any form of empathy. "Everything else just popped into place, like how you came right to your own execution."

"Ah…you…." Kage growled as the Red Rose formed a scythe from her right arm and swinging it a little in the air. "Traitor, breaker of teams, false leader!"

"I chose to disband the team, nothing more, nothing less." she said before pointing the scythe's blade at Kage's neck. "Now, any last words before I carry out this mission's end goal?"

Kage narrowed her eyes and spat into the woman's left eye. "You are but a shadow of your former self, Ruby Rose, you are nothing but a pawn in Atlas' goals. I hope that one day, in the future, you will come to see the poor decision of choosing Ironwood over Team RWBY."

The now identified Ruby Rose, narrowed her eyes before they turned a silverish orange color, a 'flame' of energy erupting from them as her scythe changed color from cyan to a silverish orange hue. "Foolish words."

SHING!

Clunk!

"For a faunus criminal." She said before watching the head fall into the water, the body slumping onto the wood before being incinerated by the Atlasian Huntress' powers, indirectly causing the district to become consumed with flames. "Now, to get back to Atlas."

Shink.

The mask re-formatted on her face as she took flight, allowing the city of Kuo Kuana to burn away, along with every criminal within its non-existent walls.

"Specialist Rose calling General Ironwood." she said while the screen began to fade to black. "Operation Neutered Beast was a success. I'm preparing to return for further missions."

"Excellent. You have done well, Hero of Atlas." spoke the general's voice from the mask's built-in speakers as everything went black. "You have authorization to return to base. I have another mission for you, one involving the Branwen Tribe."

Bio: In this timeline, during the infiltration of Beacon Academy's annual Beacon Dance, Cinder, during her mission to infect the CCTS Tower with the Queen Virus, confronted Ruby Rose and, after the latter's heels were accidentally broken to allow for better mobility, went in for the kill so she can escape without witnesses. However, for a split second, Ruby's Huntress training kicked in and she grievously wounded the false Fall Maiden in the stomach with Crescent Rose before using Gravity Dust to send both of them falling through several floors to the ballroom, where Cinder Fall's back was broken, killing her in the process as the Fall Maiden powers, the half that the criminal stole that is, entered Ruby's body as a result. Shocked at the girl's accidental brutality, the entirety of the students became fearful of Ruby and would have been punished by Ozpin if Jaume Ironwood, who saw the battle's conclusion and saw the girl's potential, didn't intervene and offered the girl a place at Atlas Academy as an Atlasian Huntress in exchange for her disbandment of her own team. Faced with this choice, Ruby chose the former due to the fact that she was rewarded for killing someone, something that interested her a little and, while it pained her to disband Team RWBY, she wanted to become a Huntress that would make her mother proud, not realizing that this one act would spell disastrous consequences in the future. In the wake of this break-up, Yang Xiao Long left Beacon and became Raven Branwen's number one mercenary due to the pain of being betrayed by her own sister, Weiss Schnee returned to Atlas and, after killing her father in a passionate rage, took over the SDC under the new name of the Atlesian Dust Organization (ADO), and Blake Belladonna, feeling herself hurt more by the humans than ever before, returned to the White Fang and killed Adam Taurus and Sienna Khan to take it over, restructuring it as a military strike force against Atlas itself. But for Ruby herself, while horrified by the news, she became focused by her own studies, becoming not only the first student to go without a team and the youngest to graduate with high scores, but also became the youngest Specialist in Atlasian history, using her talents to become the leader of the Ace-Ops at the age of eighteen. During her time in Atlas, she began to experiment on Dust and multi-change weaponry, utilizing Atlasian technology to create a new weapon, called the Omni Directional Scythe Armor or ODSA, which allowed her to create Hard Light powered armor and scythes on the fly, defend herself from attacks with Hard Light barriers, interface with the CCTS quickly and use her armor to transform her body into a massive scythe for close combat situations. As Ruby rose through the ranks of Atlas, becoming a 'hero' to the city due to her new abilities and crime fighting skills, she became more and more hardened by the constant 'battles', losing all her innocence as her personality became that of a warrior, one that saw everything falling into chaos due to criminal activity and, wanting to put a stop to it permanently, decided to kill them without mercy, seeing it as justified as her current position was rewarded in the past. This combined with Atlasian policies and Ironwood's Huntsmen ideals, she started to see every single person on the planet, even her loved ones, as criminals that needed to be dealt with, at the orders of her superior, Ironwood himself, that is. Eventually, Remnant began to fear Ruby, calling herself the Red Rose, as the planet's most deadly and heartless weapon ever 'created', having seen her kill anyone that spoke up against Ironwood and in proxy, Atlas itself. How ironic, a pair of broken heels caused all of this to happen….all before the strike of twelve.
