The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.

From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.

The Ruinverse: Chapter Fifty Three, Attack of the WereCorgis!?

-Remnant, Sanus, Patch, Xiao Long Residence-

It was a calm yet drizzling night as a small rainstorm hit the island of Patch, making the grass moist and the rooftops drip.

Yet for the Xiao Longs, it was just a normal night, the residents still sleeping in their beds from a long day of work, or in the case of the children, playing.

Yang snoring with Ruby out like a light.

All the while, a small tricolor gray, black and gray corgi with gray eyes, a black head, a still healing scar in the shape of puncture wounds and a bobbed tail, was busy looking outside, seemingly worried about something beyond its control.

This was Zwei, the corgi, and he was...nervous, scared even.

For something big is going to happen tonight, something the big 'picture boxes' say occurs every month.

He let out a whimper while feeling anxious all over.

This was big...even bigger than the evil lady with the needles, the 'vet'...oh gods that was horrifying to think about.

The little corgi turned towards his master, Ruby, feeling a sinking feeling in his stomach, possibly gas but perhaps not.

"Mmmm." the dog whimpered before jumping off the bed and tried to hide in the closet, only to find the door completely closed shut.

Scrit.

"Mmm." Ruby groaned out in her sleep. "Zwei..."

Scrit.

The corgi moved away, sad that he couldn't escape via the closet, as he moved towards the nearest toy chest and jumped in, only to get stuck halfway. "Awf!"

"Zwei." grumbled Ruby, turning in her bed. "Sleep time, we'll play in the morning."

"Arf!"

"Zwei." She groaned while putting a pillow on her head.

The corgi whined before getting off the toy box and looked around for a place to 'hide', only to find a small can right near Yang's bed.

As the dog moved closer to the can, he started to feel...something, like a bout of indigestion or a 'hairball' as the local mob cats called it, as he laid on the ground in 'pain'.

"Mmmm."

"Zwei?" Ruby said while taking notice of the corgi's painful groan, sitting up and seeing her precious pet on the floor in pain. "Zwei? Are you ok?"

"Mmmmm…arf." he groaned while twitching a little, seemingly on edge for some reason.

"Do you need to go to the bathroom?" Ruby said with worry as she got out of bed.

"Mmmmmm."

"Alright, let's get you out." Ruby said while quickly getting Zwei's leash not realizing that the corgi was shaking his head 'no'.

"Mmmmm."

(A bit later)

"Come on Zwei." Ruby said while trying to get Zwei out of the house, only to face the powerful bite strength of the corgi species aka Zwei decided to chomp down on the door.

"Mmmmmm!"

"Come ooooon." She yelled while pulling hard on the leash. "You need to get out of the house, I don't want dad getting mad again about your stinky poo in the house!"

"Mmmmm!"

CRACK!

And cue Zwei going flying into Ruby's face, butt first, as the girl went cartwheeling a few feet away.

All the while, the clouds began to part ways, slowly revealing the moon in the process. When they stopped near an oak tree, Ruby picked him up and groaned.

"Zwei!"

"Mmmmmm." Zwei groaned while starting to foam around the gum lines.

"Zwei?"

"Mmmmmm." The corgi groaned while the moon began to illuminate the clearing, causing Zwei to run away from Ruby, but slowly for some reason.

"Zwei?" Ruby said with worry as she ran towards her precious 'cinnamon bun'. "Come back here!"

As the corgi tried to run away, it began to twitch violently, like an Electric Dust powered dog toy, as Ruby felt something entering her body.

Something...dark and foreboding for the soon to be Huntress in Training of Beacon.

"Zwei?"

CRACK!

SQUISH!

"Mmmmm...ggggrrrrrr." Zwei growled while the sound of cracking bones and torn muscles rang out across the empty clearing.

"Zwei?"

CRACK!

SQUISH!

Ruby's eyes dilated inwards as a shadow began to cover her body, rising upwards as the girl started to hyperventilate.

For in place of a dog, was an eight foot tall humanoid creature with pitch black fur with white patches on the neck, gray eyes, sharp dagger-like teeth, long pointed ears, large blood red claws, exposed white ribs coated in a black tar-like substance, thick white bone-like spikes jutting from it's shoulders and elbows, an exposed thick muscle tethered spinal column lining the entire back and a long semi mattered tail with vertebrae sticking out from the flesh.

"Grrrrrrr..."

"Ah...ah...ah…" Ruby panted with fear as she backed away, memories of the massive Alpha Beowolf coming rushing back like a bullet. 'N-No no nonononono! T-This isn't real!'

"Grrrrrrr."

"Z-Zwei?"

It growled before letting loose a howl that made the birds fly away from their nests as it charged towards the petrified Ruby.

CRUNCH!

(With Yang)

"AHHHHHH!"

"What the!?" Yang yelled while falling out of her bed, only to notice Ruby's empty bed. "Ruby? RUBY!?"

CRUNCH!

The blonde's eyes dilated before quickly grabbing Ember Celica and jumped out the window, landing on the ground as she sprinted in the direction of the crunching sounds.

CRUNCH!

But as she made it to the front porch, she...saw her sister, her throat ripped out and her entrails spilling out of an open wound, as a massive 'Beowolf' was eating her...alive.

"RUBY!"

"Grrrrrr." the 'Grimm' growled while glaring at the blonde, a piece of flesh dropping from its jaw.

"You BASTARD!" Yang yelled, her eyes glowing bright red, as she charged towards the 'Grimm' with murderous intentions.

"AROOOOOOOOO!" he howled out before charging right back towards the blonde.

Yang growled before punching the 'Grimm' in the face, knocking a few teeth out as she was in an anger fueled rage. "YOU KILLED MY BABY SISTER!"

POW!

It stumbled back, but shook its head and swung its claw at her.

Only to miss as Yang punched the 'Grimm' in the chest, breaking parts of the bone before getting stuck by the tar-like muscles.

"What the!?" she yelled before getting sent flying into the porch by the creature's left claw, only for her to glow bright yellow as her semblance activated.

"ARROOOOOOOOOOOO!" it howled before charging towards Yang.

BAM!

CRACK!

Only to be punched a few feet away from the house by Yang's left hook, breaking it's jaw in the process as Yang started to charge towards the 'Grimm'.

But in that instant, the 'Grimm', its instinctual need to survive kicking in, to turn tail and run away, its tail curled downwards as Yang's semblance faded away.

"And don't come back!" she yelled before turning to the body of her beloved sister, her eyes changing back to normal as she fell on her knees. "Ruby…oh gods…Ruby."

As the camera zoomed towards the body, the faintest twitch of the girl's left index finger could be seen…before it faded to black.

(With the 'Grimm')

-Docks-

Dawn, and all the corgi, known as Zwei, could feel was…..pain, so much pain, as he walked towards the empty docks, the boats unattended and waiting for their captains to set sail, with blood dripping from his snout.

He had awakened near a tree, his favorite sniffing spot…only to discover his fangs regrowing where he was punched….when he committed the greatest sin a canine could ever commit.

Killing his master.

The memories, the pain…the fear, the hopelessness….the little dog's mind recalled it all. The broken bones, the consumed organs, the battle between him and the blonde master….it flooded back into his mind the moment he saw his reflection in the nearby puddle.

And it made the corgi's ears droop in shame.

As of right now, he could not return home, he couldn't stay and be around the family he had betrayed. He just….couldn't face the evil Grimm that plagues his heart and butt…he just wanted to leave, find a place far away from Patch and maybe find a cure to his own affliction.

The corgi, jumping on a tour boat, one with the words 'Valeian Historical Society' painted in gold on the sides, tugged at the ropes with his jaw before hopping onto the controls and began playing around with them.

Clank.

The anchor began to rise out of the sea as the engines began to roar to life, all thanks to corgi intuition.

Zoooobaoooooozzzz.

ZOOOOOOM!

"Mmmm." Zwei whined while looking at the shores of Patch one last time, feeling bad about leaving the only home he knew, before turning the wheel with his paws and 'sailed' away from the island, hoping to find peace with the world…and himself. "Grrr."

But as the camera zoomed away from this depressing scene…it became even more depressing as, on the porch of the Xiao Long residence…

The body of Yang laid motionless on the ground, neck ripped open and her body torn to shreds as Ruby, covered in blood, lying on the bed of her father, eyes glazed over from shock as the body of her dad laid on the ground, half eaten, and a bit of intestines hanging from the girl's mouth.

"...eh!?" Ruby cried out in horror as the screen quickly turned blood red as her screams of terror echoed in the background. 'Where am I!? What just happened…and why does this taste like cookies!?'

Abilities: Enhanced speed, durability, strength, smell, hearing and jumping, heightened intelligence (for a canine), technological knowledge (limited), canine physiology (Pembroke Welsh Corgi variant), high aura pool (for a canine), body compression, heat resistant (via aura), explosion resistance (via aura), sharp claws, increased bloodlust, bone plating, sharp spikes, limited transformation skills (via semblance), infectious bite, limited self regeneration.

Semblance(s): Bark! [Translation: Moon Bite.] (An unnatural physical based semblance that allows the user to transform into a wolf-like humanoid with rapid healing and increased senses but at the cost of becoming bloodthirsty, unable to differentiate between friends and foe alike. Only works under a full moon however.)

Bio: In this timeline, the cute and adorable corgi known as Zwei protected the Xiao Long family for a few years, keeping Ruby Rose protected from all threats, including the local mailman. However…one day, while resting in the house and allowing Ruby to secretly play outside in the rain, a massive Alpha Beowolf, drawn to the area by the Silver Eyes and possibly being a few hundred years old or more, attacked the girl, only to be driven back by Zwei, who sustained a bite wound to the neck that unlocked the dog's aura in the process. The corgi made a full recovery, but in the process of having it's aura unlocked, the little dog gained the ability to transform, during a full moon, into…a massive bloodthirsty wolf-like humanoid, one that craves the flesh of others to survive, as without blood to rejuvenate the semblance, he will die upon the sun's rise. Trying to keep himself from eating the ones that cared for him, Zwei tried to hide from the first full moon, but failed in the end and, in an instant, he killed his master, consuming her flesh before being driven off by Yang Xiao Long. Horrified at what he had done, he exiled himself from Patch to hide away from society, hoping to find some form of doggy repentance…but unbeknownst to himself, Ruby didn't die….but was transformed into another iteration of the dreaded WereCorgi, and now…Patch was it's hunting ground. Huh, odd isn't it that the dog caused all of this…..aw, poor doggy.
