Author's Note- If you want to request a Ruinverse chapter, either send a PM or type it down in the reviews, it can be either a single question like 'What if' or a detailed description on what the chapter should be like. Just remember, not every idea will be placed into the story, and enjoy the Ruinverse.
Also to be perfectly fair….the designs of Gillian and Jax are….non-existent outside this chapter. I mean I checked the wiki, Deviantart, Danbooru AND other sources but nope, no such designs or images to work on. So for those out there that do make good art….PLEASE make some Gillian and Jax images! You would do the world a service if you do, I mean really they might be book villains but come ON, the last villainess at least had fanart and official art, why not do it again with them!? Give them a description or image that helps convey them and give them 'life'! Anyway, enjoy the story.

The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.
From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.
The Ruinverse: Chapter Sixty Four, Diadem's Rise.
Xxxxxxx
-Remnant, Sanus, Vauco, Wastelands, The Mirage-
Wooooosh.
The sounds of the hot desert wind echoed across the darkened yet narrow metallic hallways, lined with reflective steel on it's outside to protect it from the intense Vaucoian heat, as faint grunting could be heard coming from the very end of the hallway, beyond a thick gray doorway with a gold diadem emblem on the knobs.
"Ugh!"
"Ugh!"
"UGH!"
From within the semi lit room, several individuals, all wearing the same silver bands on their arms, were busy lifting massive black Aura boards onto fixtures in the ceiling with ropes, each one sweating despite the air conditioner being on maximum power for the duration of a week.
As these individuals grunted in pain and exhaustion, several others were welding together a massive golden cage with either welding tools or basic fire based semblances, each one working hard to create this tool of Vaucoian supremacy…even if the heat was starting to affect their bodies in increasingly negative ways.
"UGH!"
"Move it!"
"UGH!"
"Place that platform there." said one of the individuals while several faunus, each one having goat or ram-like horns, were busy keeping a rather large rectangular platform in the air, allowing several smaller humans to weld in several pressurized hydraulic cylinders, infused with Water and Electric Dust, under it to allow for easy 'surveillance' and to keep the platform in place. "And don't break the Dust! It's highly explosive AND will fry your brains!"
"UGH!"
"UGH!"
"This sucks." muttered one of the men while talking to his superior. "Having to do all of this work for 'free', ugh. I'd rather play The Chill than weld another Wind Dust pipe to the ceiling. At least that game is fun."
"I know, but you know the 'king', can't oppose him without getting turned into a zombie." he said while pointing to one of the individuals welding the cage together. "And I'd rather stay myself than lose my brain to that guy's semblance."
"I know right? Just because he has a semblance that turns your mind to mush and was a former Huntsmen dropout, it doesn't mean he isn't…" he looked around before whispering into his superior's ear. "A suicidal wackjob with a god complex."
The older man nodded while neither them or the other 'workers' noticed a figure walking past them and right towards a small elevator, pressing the down button before walking in and allowing the doors to close. "He is a wackjob, a real case of Lasting Regret of the soul."
"Good thing he doesn't eat actual souls or he would have gotten a Lasting Regret of something."
"So true, ha!"
(Lower levels)
-Basement-
Ping.
The steel elevator doors slowly opened up as the figure walked into a large light gray sandstone lined room with a rectangular block of granite in the center of the room, carved into the shape of a crude throne, as several torches hung on the walls.
Clank.
Clank.
The sound of heels clanked on the stone floor, each decorated with the symbol of Vauco in black mosaic patterns, as the figure moved closer to the throne, a figure sitting upon it yet covered in a thin layer of shadows that obscured their face.
"Ah, the prodigal child returns." spoke a voice as the figure moved upwards in their seat, revealing themselves as a tall semi muscular fair skinned man with short black hair tied into a top knot by a gold band, dull yellowish green eyes, wearing a long sleeved blue linen brown duster with deep gold spirals stitched to the sides and sleeves that exposed his chest and abs, a thick silver diadem with a single emerald encrusted in the center of a spiral emblem at its top, five thick silver armbands on each arm, a black leather belt, a golden hilted longsword hanging on his right hip, dull brown pants and thick brown boots with a single steel gray tip on the toe, whose expression was filled with a false smile laced with an underlining madness that few could pick up on at a first glance. "And right on the night of my grand dream. How unexpected of you Gillian."
The second figure, now illuminated by the torchlight, revealing themselves as a tall fair skinned woman with long straight black hair that was braided into two loops on either side of her head, bright yellowish green eyes, dark white crown shaped mark on her wrist, a F cup chest and wide ass, long amber nails, wearing a long sleeveless dress with several sheer plaid layers of blue, white, green and purple running down her knees, a slim silver diadem with green emeralds etched into the silver, a black corset with three gold straps around the chest, two gold fingerless gauntlets that extended to her shoulders and had two crown-like emblems on the shoulders, a long silver chain wrapped around her waist, thin see-through gold stockings with several sapphires lining them, black high heeled boots with silver tipped points at the toes, and had a large metallic gray bow with yellow electric Dust lining the sides and string on her back, whose face was neutral but filled with a strange arrogance that could even freeze a Death stalker in place as she stood close the the man's throne with a deadly air of confidence.
These were Jax and Gillian Asturias, twin siblings and members of a former Shade Academy team before leaving for 'Vaucoian Revolution' aka Jax's inability to socialize and forcing his own team to join him in more criminal activities.
Overall, they were the leaders of this budding organization, the 'king' and 'queen' of a rising dynasty that would topple the Kingdom of Vauco and 'remake' the land into something more….chaotic.
"Brother, it seems the Crown has….gotten some added help in my absence." she said while crossing her arms.
"Oh those? They are my Crownsmen, well most of them at any rate." he rolled his eyes. "As I have a very….'weak' aura level, controlling my-I mean our army would be difficult if grown too fast, so I just hired the others. Vagabonds and thieves from the other wandering clans, many of them unworthy of joining but needed for the Mirage's construction."
Gillian frowned as she raised an eyebrow at her brother, knowing he wouldn't just let those 'workers' leave this place, alive that is. " I see. However I have no time for general management of a small Dust Refinery's repurposing, I have returned with my findings on the other Kingdoms."
Jax sighed before standing up and moved closer to his sister, taking notice of her rather mechanical bow. "Very well, but first tell me, why the Atlasian bow? Didn't you hate the very concept of Dust weaponry?"
"Yes, but during my travels, I learned much about the state of the other Kingdoms, their social, political and military assets." she said while pointing her right index finger at the bow. "A simple bow would not be enough to camouflage one's self in a modern world. So I traded it for this Dust powered bow."
As the man moved closer to his sister, right near her left arm to be exact, he didn't notice that a tiny strand of multicolored 'thread' attached itself to his palm, for his attention was on the bow itself.
"I find it surprising that you would allow yourself to be taken in by the hedonistic Kingdoms that ruined Vauco's lush lands." he said coldly while Gillian rolled her eyes, knowing his words rang hollow. "Such ideas would be considered heretical."
"You are spouting nonsense brother." Gillian frowned while trying to maintain her very short fuse. "I might have spent months in the Kingdoms of Atlas, Mistral and Vale, but you know my love is to Vauco and Vauco alone."
"...I'll take a rain check on that, sister." he said while walking a few inches away from the former Huntress, never noticing that his own aura, golden in nature, was being absorbed into Gillians' body via the tiny thread. "After you rest, that is, given you've been away from home for far too long."
"No thank you." she said while a small gray scalpel with cyan lining on the blade, fell from a secret compartment in her left gauntlet's palm and was carefully grabbed by her fingers. "I really don't need any rest."
Jax raised an eyebrow before feeling his entire being buckle for some reason and he fell on his knees, his body weaker then a newborn puppy as he tried to stand but couldn't due to his weakened muscles. "W…What is….how…?"
"You always were gullible." Gillian said before quickly turning around and revealing her scalpel, the cyan lining glowing brightly and forming a rather long Hard Light Dust blade, as she kicked her brother on his stomach and pushed hard on his body. "Or in this case, arrogant to think I would never betray you, brother."
"You…wha…what are….?" he gasped before his sister sat on his back and placed the scalpel right near his head, her right hand removing the diadem and throwing it across the room.
"I learned many things about the world and about myself. Things that you constantly told me were foolish and impossible, soft as you kept referring to them." she said while making a small cut around the base of the scalp. "Better health, safer homes, a stable job, medical advancements and happy children. All of these, while scarer due to the Grimm, are more commonplace than Vauco and I will be damned if I allow your plans of control to destroy those liberties."
"You…little…." he groaned while the scalpel began to slice through muscle and bone, exposing portions of his own brain in the process. "This…will…"
"You and your semblance are powerful I give you that, but you lack restraint, a proper moral compass." she said while placing the Hard Light blade near the exposed gray matter. "But me? I was born of Vaucoian royal blood and was set to become a Huntress, until you swayed me in a time of weakness. I love you brother, I truly do, but you don't love anyone but yourself and a king like you must be dethroned."
Jax felt the blade hitting his brain as he screamed in pain, blood dripping from his head as his body spasmed and his aura fluctuated rapidly.
"But you will not die, oh no. You are too important for that." Gillian smirked while making careful incisions into the right hemisphere and portions of the left hemisphere. "I'm just going to lobotomize you, no more destructive thoughts. Just a simple mind for a greater mission."
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
"Don't worry brother dear." she said with a cackle. "This will all be over soon, and then the Queen will put you to work, Jax."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
(Several hours later)
Gillian sighed while she looked at her handly work, her hands stained with blood as she moved off the now unresponsive body of Jax Asturias. "...he was my brother, but he was also insane. And the insane must be put down if they threaten the stability of my Kingdom. That is the law."
The torch lights flickered as the only remaining 'sane' member of the Asturias family took the bow off her back and pulled out an Ice Dust crystal from her right gauntlet, placing it onto the bowstring as she took aim at the body.
"The only way he can survive out there without dying from Misery's Kiss is." she said while firing the crystal.
TWANG!
SHING!
Causing a large block of ice to cover the body, the intense change in temperature causing frost to form on the ground and walls.
"To keep him on ice until I return to my base of operations in Coquina." 'As long as his aura lasts that is, but given I have severed several portions of the Frontal Lobe, the Cerebral Cortex, the Parietal Lobe and the Temporal Lobe to keep him placated, it might take longer for him to replenish the aura….well, if he even remembers how to use aura anymore.'
Looking upon the now frozen body of her brother, she recalled how much he meant to her, her only friend in a lawless world. Yet, he chose to destroy her life, to give her falsehoods of grandeur for a plan that would've led to the deaths of thousands.
In some part, she wanted to help him achieve his dreams of becoming a king, but his madness would've destroyed Vauco itself along with the other Kingdoms. She was a queen, not a maniac.
"His semblance might be breaking down now in those 'Crownsmen', but perhaps one of the workers can 'help' me secure a ride and possible assistance with the 'ice' block?" she muttered before walking towards the elevator. "And once I'm done with Jax, then I shall give Vauco the peace it so desires. One not born out of fear and distrust for the world."
Ping.
"But." she said while entering the elevator, the doors closing in front of her. "One burn from a provider of revolution."
Cling.
The torch lights flickered in the slowly growing darkness of the room, the embers of an older, more archaic age fading away like the dusk as everything went black.

Bio: In this timeline, when the budding criminal organization, The Crown, was starting to form in the deserts of Vauco, young Gillian Asturias, in a moment of clarity, started to realize that her brother, Jax Asturias', plans of turning the world into a lawless Pre-Great War based world wasn't for her, while she did want to rule Remnant as a queen, she didn't want to follow her brother's self destructive and rather…suicidal vision of the future. Thus, she chose to travel across the planet, 'looking' for new members while using this opportunity to avoid Jax's toxic influence, which also had the unexpected side effect of allowing her to be exposed to the technological advances of Vale, Atlas, Mantle, Mistral and Menagerie. Upon seeing the inherent good of technological advancement, her own hatred for Dust and technology evaporated and she chose to study abroad, seeing the beneficial good Kingdoms like Atlas could give Vauco, allowing her to find a solution to her Kingdom's wasteland environment and inner turmoil. During her studies, she dove into the medical and robotic fields, becoming a prodigy of both as she, through the art of lobotomy, discovered how to keep a living being alive in a vegetative state utilizing technology as a linchpin. Looking back at her brother's ill actions and unique semblance, she decided to enact a plan that would help the Kingdom of Vauco and remove a potential threat to that plan in one shot, thus when she returned to Vauco, she attacked and, using her knowledge of medical surgery, destroyed her brother's mind before placing his body into a supercomputer called the Vaucoian Provider, using his semblance as its main battery. This machine, once powered, allowed Gillian to subtly alter the mind of others, which she used to turn her fellow Vaucoians into more peaceful and willing individuals, allowing them to initiate trade routes with the other Kingdoms and bring about a more stable peace. Establishing herself as Vauco's new queen, she used the machine to maintain that peace while using her own status to create a new iteration of the Crown, suitably called the Diadem, to manage the newly found peace as a secret police force. This, however, is not without a price, as members of the Diadem, coated in white and yellow semblance amplifying armor, were placed into the organization either willingly or forced, the armor acting as a focusing device for the Vaucoian Provider's influence that affected even those in the Diadem's ranks over time. In a way, the Crown did win….but not in the way anyone expects it.
