The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.

From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.

The Ruinverse: Chapter Sixty Six, Dustless Age.

-Remnant, Somewhere in the Sanus wilderness-

"Chirp chirp."

The sound of robins echoed within the darkened forest, busy with their fleeting yet wholesome lives in the forest canopy, as the occasional snake slithered across the grassy ground in search of its meal, hoping to find a managable sized one for the next month.

"Chirp chirp."

"Chirp chirp."

To all the world, it was a rather peaceful afternoon, a far cry from the bleak world beyond the eastern mountain range, where humanity battles for survival against the forces of 'nature'.

Snap!

SNAP!

The sound of snapping branches echoed across the forest floor, causing the birds to fly away in the process.

Yet as the camera moved away from the dense line of trees, the forest began to part and formed a large meadow with several rocks jutting from the soft dirt like 'waves' of stone.

And standing near the largest of the stones was a tall marble skinned woman with long bleached pale white hair that was tied in the back by a large bun and six long offshoots held together by curved obsidian ornaments, jet black sclera eyes with dull crimson irises, pale purple veins on her face and arms, a black diamond marking on her forehead, a G cup chest and wide ass, long jet black nails, wearing a very long short sleeved black robe that obscures her feet and partially drags across the ground, a curved dark red trimmed high collar that bordered the outer edge of a narrow eye shaped window over her bust, a black beetle-like ring on the right hand, a long shawl emblazoned with three interconnected maroon vertical elliptic eye-like sigils above a series of maroon diamond emblems, and black heeled flats, whose expression was flat and bored, seemingly uninterested in the natural world and it's many wonders as she crossed her arms under her chest.

This was Salem, Queen of the Grimm, immortal witch and currently….bored out of her mind.

"Ugh. Just where is Ozma?" she grumbled while swatting a fly with her left hand. "That fool spoke to me of a magical duel yet he fails to show up." 'And just when I was about to send my Grimm to the last remains of humanity as well. He better get here or I will kill him, humanity and that new offshoot in the most painful way in existence….although I was still going to do it anyway.'

WOOOSH!

BAM!

In a firefly explosion, the rock and Salem herself were destroyed by a massive explosive fireball that came out of nowhere, the grass becoming singed from the flames as the immortal rematerialized from the blast zone.

"What the-"

KABOOOOM!

Once more the immortal was destroyed in a firefly explosion, causing the ground to become blackened by ash and soot before the immortal returned in her full confused glory.

"Who dare-"

KABOOOOOOOOOM!

Blast after blast of explosive pillars of fire erupted from the ground, turning the immortal into carbon for an unnaturally long time as a figure moved closer to the blast zone itself.

KABOOOM!

WOOOOSH!

"ENOUGH!" Salem screamed in agitation as a ring of ice formed around her body and expelled across the meadow, freezing everything and turning the pillar of flames into icicles. "Who dares attack me!? Who dares burn me and attempt to turn my body into charcoal!?"

"Me." said a voice from Salem's left side.

She turned and saw a tall pale skinned woman with long black hair with thin strands of white near the ends, silver eyes, a F cup chest and small ass, wearing a gray short sleeved blouse, a long black hooded cape with a red brooch, a multi pronged bronze crown with four turquoise gems studded in the front on her forehead, a short red skirt, a golden lamp with a blue spherical orb in its center attached on her left hip, gray pants, white socks, brown boots, and holding a long golden ornamented staff with a blue spearhead-shaped crystal on top and a smaller blue crystal at its base, in her left hand and a golden greatsword covered in thick trailing black mist, in her right hand, walking towards her with a dark expression on her face, her eyes filled with malice. "Oh, it's you Ozma. And a Silver Eyes? My, you are really desperate to appear here, asking for a magical duel while having the Relics in hand. You have granted me my revenge on a silver platter, pun intentional."

The woman frowned while pointing the blade at Salem.

BOOOM!

Sending a blast of dark energy at the woman, obliterating her and the surrounding woods in the process as the immortal regenerated from the attack, rather shocked about the brutality the Infinity Man' enacted upon her.

"Salem." she said while her tone had a hint of aggression, one that gave the Queen of the Grimm a tinge of fear. "I am done playing this game."

"Game?"

"You damn know it Salem!" she growled while pointing the staff at the cursed witch. "I am done letting you ruin this world. I am tired of having to clean up the mess."

ZAP!

BOOOM!

A bolt of blue lighting hit the Mistress of the Grimm, causing her to vaporize into dust before reforming from said dust, her eyes wide in shock before getting zapped again and again with rapid succession.

"I am sick and tired of playing babysitter to a selfish brat like you!" the woman snarled before sending a larger bolt of lighting at Salem, causing her to explode into black ooze, sending it flying as the woman quickly froze them with ice. "I am putting an end to this game!"

SHATTER!

The ice broke from the inside as Salem rematerialized next to the Silver Eyes, attempting to lash out with Shadow Arms, only for the sword to slice them in half, destroying them completely.

"I have been going easy on you because I loved you. But." she growled. "The day you sent your spawn to bring about the second extinction of humanity, one that held no ties with the object of your selfish machinations, was the day the kitty gloves came off!"

"How are you doing this!?" Salem yelled before getting set ablaze by the staff's magical powers, causing her to quickly send a blast of magical energy at the woman.

SWISH

Only for the blade to cut right through it, destroying it from the atomic level.

"I asked Ambrosius to give me the power to use the Relics without making a command." she said coldly before slamming the staff into the earth, causing thick vines to ensnare Salem's limbs and forcing her to become buried in the soil, her head being the only thing visible. "And I will use it to make sure you never harm anyone ever again!"

BOOOM!

Salem growled while the earth around her exploded, her very body floating in the air by thick black smoke, as she began channeling her magic into black balls of destructive power. "YOU BASTARD!"

WOOSH!

BOOOM!

SWISH!

SWISH!

The greatsword slashed the very air, sending an explosive shockwave that momentarily stunned the immortal as the Silver Eyes jumped towards her direction, stabbing her in the chest with the tip of the staff as she forced the Queen of the Grimm back to the earth.

BOOOM!

Creating a small crater in the process as the woman stood on top of her.

SQUISH!

"AAAH!" Salem screamed as the blade pinned her to the ground by her midsection, the staff forming thick golden chains that wrapped around her like a cocoon. "Ozma! You dar-"

POW!

"AH!"

"Just SHUT UP FOR ONCE!" she snarled as she kicked Salem in the face, breaking her jaw in the process. "It's Ozioma at this point and I am SICK of you blaming everyone for YOUR problems!"

The immortal groaned as her jaw reconnected with the tendons, her glare unaffecting the Silver Eyes in any shape or form. 'When did HE get a spine!?'

"You constantly say that you want to avenge yourself against the gods, the ones that, rightfully, told you NOT to bring me back from my peaceful death!" Ozioma growled. "You were told not to bring me back, but instead you lost everything! You stewed away in spite and rage, hating them for making your life a living hell, yet YOU chose that path when you tricked them! You tricked them and you paid the price!"

"Grrrr, they were unjust!"

"Not when you failed to abide by their rules! They CREATED humanity! They know the world better than you or I, YET you forced humanity to go extinct and took away magic for the second age. And for what? Payback? Not living without me!? Or, stop me if I'm wrong, because your damn pride felt threatened!?"

"You-"

"I know you suffered from your father, from cruelty and death's hands." she growled, momentary feeling a tinge of sadness before it was replaced by rage. "But you, in your childish anger, KILLED HUMANITY! You brought humanity to oblivion and by some miracle of the cosmos, they returned with a sister species! Yet you, not learning your lesson after seeing them grow and change over time, decided to replace them with MAGICAL HUMANS!? You, in your great wisdom, USED ME! USE ME AND MY DAUGHTERS AS BREEDING STOCK!"

"DON'T YOU DARE BRING THEM INTO THIS CONVERSATION!" Salem roared with fury before attempting to send a blast of fire from her mouth at the Silver Eyes, only for the eyes to glow bright silver and forcibly turned her lips into stone with a single concentrated beam of energy. "MMMM!"

"I AM NOT DONE!" She growled before kicking the lips with her right heel, shattering it into tiny fragments as the immortal's jaw repaired itself instantly, albeit at a slower rate. "You used us as cattle for your conquest of Remnant! You killed us for your pride! For YOUR ambitions against the gods! YOU RUINED OUR HAPPILY EVER AFTER!"

"Lies!"

"It isn't a lie." she growled while moving closer to Salem's left ear and whispered. "If you had let me go or allowed yourself to serve penance for your crimes, maybe the gods would have rewarded you with my resurrection?"

Salem's eyes widened in disbelief, her voice becoming hoarse as her eyes stared at her former husband in shock. "W..W….W….What?"

"You heard me." Ozioma said while pointing to the crown and the lamp. "I saw the future, the past and its wonders before this one-sided battle, and to my surprise, I saw realities that could never come true. I saw you bury my corpse and remarried another man, I saw you repent and become the god's priestess, I saw you teaching our grandchildren the ways of magic, I saw you living in a cottage with me, I saw you happy, I saw you give up your selfish ways, I saw you as the woman I once loved…not this monster in human skin who allows the Grimm to bring civilization to its end."

The immortal's eyes dilated inwards as she felt her heart 'cracking', her mind filled with broken dreams and mirages of 'What Ifs', as Ozioma moved away from her ear.

"I saw hope for you Salem." she said before gripping tightly on the staff. "But that hope is dashed on an unfeeling immortal that cast her humanity the day I died. And now."

WOOOSH!

Salem's eyes quickly darted around as the chains began to raise her upwards, lifting her into the sky as Ozioma pulled the greatsword from her stomach. "W-What are you doing!?"

"Something I should've done ages ago." she said while the staff's crystal glowed bright blue, a thick mist moving towards the immortal. "I'm going to seal you in the Relic of Creation, a replacement to its spirit until the day you repent, until the day all the Relics return to me once more. Until the day the Twin Gods come to Remnant for their judgment, you shall never escape the Relic!"

"N-NO! YOU CAN'T!" she cried out while the mist transformed into a vortex that began sucking her and the chains into the crystal.

"I can and I will! Salem, instigator of humanity's extinction, I condemn you to eternal servitude as the Spirit of Creation!" Ozioma yelled as the vortex became smaller and smaller, Salem screaming as she was absorbed into the crystal. "This is for everyone you killed! For the people in the forest you massacred! For the dreams you shattered for your selfish desires! THIS IS FOR PEACE!"

"OOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAA!" Salem screamed out before-

POP!

The vortex vanished into the crystal, leaving nothing but an empty, nearly destroyed field.

"Ah….ah….ah…." Ozioma panted while falling to her knees, her eyes beginning to drip with tears as she failed to take in her surroundings. "It's…done….my task….everything…."

SNAP!

Her eyes widened as she turned her head-

SQUISH!

Only to find herself impaled in her left breast by white bone claws, blood dripping from her lips as she saw something that made her blood run cold.

That being an extremely tall obsidian skinned humanoid with messy flaxed white hair going down to the ears, large deep crimson eyes with pure white bone-like plates covered the sides and forehead, two short curved horns on the sides of the head, sharp dagger-like fangs lining the outside of its lipless mouth, long muscular arms with pure white fingers tipped with spikes on the palms, thick white bone-like plates covering the shoulders, lower jaw, arms, legs, back, hips and forehead, small red marks on the plate's ends, large thin spikes lining the spinal column, long muscular legs with six claw-like toes and a trail of blackened flesh hanging from it's back pelvis like a pseudo tail, right behind her left side and giving her an….intelligent grin of satisfaction.

"Wh…a….t?" 'What is that thing? An Imp? No, an Apathy? No…..it's none of those!'

The humanoid chuckled before opening its jaws and…spoke in a dark gravelly tone. "You are not the only one with surprises, Bane of Grimm."

Her eyes widened before the right claw loomed over her face, poised to rip out her eyes in an instant.

"Goodbye."

SQUISH!

And like that, the Infinity Man, the great wizard Ozma, the former Warrior of the Woods, was dead, stabbed in the eyes by the 'intelligent' Grimm as the massive creature chuckled with glee.

"Long live the Morlocks." it chuckled as the screen began to fade into the umbra abyss. "For we are mighty."

Bio: In this timeline, during the beginning of humanity's second age, the human race and the faunus would evolve at the same time and soon become threatened by the Grimm, unable to survive even with the use of semblances and aura, and becoming desperate for an ace in the hole for their continued survival. However, in a corner of this wild world, a pivotal event, one that would help revolutionize a budding civilization and bring forth the rise of 'Modern Remnant' in many timelines in both the Ruinverse and its sister verse, the RWBYverse, would be nullified. That event…..the discovery of Dust, all because the Grimm killed the very first person to locate a Dust vein. Without the necessary material, humanity and the faunus were ill equipped to even start a civilization, causing the Grimm to go unopposed as sentient life forms were pushed towards eventual extinction. In this dark time, Ozma, reincarnated in the body of a female Silver Eyed warrior, was forced to stop Salem's mad plans for planetary self destruction and used the Relics in tandem with their own magical abilities to forcibly replace the Spirit of Creation, Ambrosius, with the immortal, transforming her into a spirit and purifying the Grimm taint she obtained in the Grimm Pool so she can reflect upon her own actions and possibly be redeemed at a later date. But in a twist of fate, the legendary hero was unable to stop the inevitable end of Remnant as Ozma was slain by a new strain of the Creature of Grimm called the Morlocks, highly intelligent humanoid Grimm that had the unique ability to control other Grimm along with the power to absorb its prey to gain their skills and knowledge, causing the Relics to scatter across the world as a result. As sentient life fell to the Morlock's might, the Silver Eyes tried to create small pockets of civilization with whatever they had available, however even with their powers and skills, they were unable to stop the advance of these intelligent Grimm and their brethren, thus the world would fall into decay, forever a world devoid of rivals. An Age of Grimm….has arrived. [DATA CORRUPTED.]

…..quiet, pure quiet. All around the darkened void was darkness….a deep umbra which had no end.

ZOOOP!

But lo, in a flash of red energy, the world became bathed in light, blanketing the screen with radiance in the process.

(Elsewhere)

-RWBYverse, Dimension 22340000616- 10 YORWBY, Remnant, Sanus, Outskirts of Vale-

Clop clop clop clop clop clop clop clop.

The sounds of hooves echoed within the semi lush forest, snow beginning to fall upon the ground as animal life seemed to be more concerned with the instinctive need to survive than the oncoming blackish red horse galloping through the woods like a bullet.

Clop clop clop clop clop clop clop clop.

As the horse galloped through the fields and meadows alike, a figure sat on its black leather saddle like their life depended on it, the wind rushing against their skin like dulled knives.

"Hurry Storm Flower! Hurry!" the figure called out, revealing themselves to be a short fair skinned young boy with short tousled black hair, brown eyes, wearing a long sleeved black overcoat with gold buttons, a light green undershirt, small silver cross pins on the cuffs, long black pants with a gold lining, black boots and had a small bronze hilted dagger hanging on his left hip, as they held the reins tightly in his hands. "Hurry!"

Clop clop clop clop clop clop clop clop.

"Hurry! The sun is going to set soon!" he called out while the horse went faster and faster, moving past the ash trees and late blooming sunflowers as in the distance, a faint line of light brown sliced the horizon in half, keeping the sky from touching the very ground below. "We need to be there before father finds out!" 'Oh gods, I really hope he doesn't find out I escaped….ugh, calligraphy lessons. That is so boring!'

Clop clop clop clop clop clop clop clop.

The horse's tail swished from side to side as the equine moved towards the horizon, the line growing bigger and wider with every passing minute before finally stopping on a small hilltop.

Lo, for in place of grass and dirt was the endless expanse of sand, water and ocean currents, the sun slowly setting just beyond the farthest point of the human eye.

"Good, no one's here." he said with a smile while getting off the horse. "Come Storm Flower, let's have some fun on the beach."

Snorting in reply, the horse followed its master to the sandy shores, knowing that the young boy needed the moment of reprieve from courtly life.

After all, he was a prince, one that will rule Vale when he reaches adulthood, whatever moment of childish innocence is well needed in this chaotic world of man and Grimm.

Yet…..even this old stallion had some doubts about the boys' ability to rule a Kingdom. For the boy had….

"Oh…um…what were we doing again?" the boy asked while looking at his horse with a confused look on his face.

Bouts of forgetfulness that happen every so often. Been like that since childhood yet it didn't cause too much…..chaos, for the most part.

Even still, a king needs to remember his duty, and being forgetful would cause more trouble than it's worth down the line.

"Oh right, fun…right." he muttered while stepping onto the sand, feeling a little…depressed with himself. 'I…I really hate being absent minded. I really do, but what am I supposed to do? I don't have those cool powers that fix everything, I'm not a faunus whose animal parts can cure anything. I'm just a prince…a rather dumb one at that. I can't even remember my own name half the time.'

Looking upon the surf, his eyes drifted towards the crashing waves, memories of his rather 'stupid' life flashing in the back of his mind, only for a hazy of….white to blot them away like spilled ink on a manuscript.

The Prince of Forgetfulness, that was what he is called by the other nobles, a fitting name for someone with no ambition, no desire to help others….even if he wanted to be like the heroes of old.

Yet how could he be? He forgets all he knows in a single day, hours of studies and lessons down the cesspit, never fully recalling it even if his body retained those memories.

He hated his condition, he hated being considered a 'child', he hated….himself for even having this condition.

'Perhaps I should just run away? Father and mother will not care….they never did.' he thought to himself, his mind trying to focus on something….yet couldn't for the life of him.

Splash.

Splash.

Splash.

"...why do I feel incomplete?" he muttered out loud, a single tear rolling down his left cheek as the waves splashed against his boots.

Clank!

"Eh?" the prince said in confusion as something hit the tip of his right boot, causing him to look downwards.

Only to see a long golden ornamented staff with a blue spearhead-shaped crystal on top and a smaller blue crystal at its base, floating lightly on the current before settling down on the sand, the larger crystal embedding itself into the water soaked sand.

"Pretty." he muttered while staring at the staff, his mind focused on the brilliant gold plated object and how…..beautiful it was compared to anything made within his Kingdom.

'Our...tion...you...ds...' spoke a muffled voice in his head, its words unable to be recognizable to the prince's mind.

'Why does my mind…hurt so much?' he thought before reaching down towards the staff with his left hand, the voices becoming louder yet still incomprehensible to his forgetful mind.

'To...Rel...harm...whole...'

Grasping the ornate staff, he lifted it up and allowed it to shine brightly in the light of the setting sol, marveling at the craftsmanship, the perfection of its gemstones.

'Cre...at...ion.'

Woosh.

ZAP!

ZAP!

"What the?" he said out loud as the staff began to expel a bolt of blue lightning, mist covering the ground as he tried to hold it tightly, his strength quickly weakening from the constant jerking motions.

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

"AH!" he cried out before dropping the staff, only for it to float in front of him, the mist rising upwards and enveloping the sky in a dark blue haze.

'You...'

RUMBLE!

RUMBLE!

Thunder echoed across the shoreline as an fifteen feet tall light blue skinned woman with long flowing dark blue hair that trailed down towards her legs and sporting faint platinum streaks, two long longs that trailed down her shoulders towards her hips, light blue eyes with a dark blue iris, a J cup chest and large ass, long pointed ears, gold markings on her forehead, arms, legs, hips, sides, back, chest and stomach, long dark blue fingernails, a light blue veil of wisp-like smoke that trailed down her waist towards her feet, dark blue toenails, wearing absolutely nothing to cover her exposed body, a triangular gold pointed crown on her head with aquamarine crystals studded on the sides, large gold hoop earrings with a single aquamarine diamond on the ends, a gold choker-like torc, thin gold cuffs with thick golden chains that dangled on the ends, two golden arm bands on her upper arms, multiple thin golden chains that wrapped around her waist like a belt and was connected to the torc by a golden ring with four pronged aquamarine diamonds on the sides, gold anklets with thick golden chains dangling from them and two gold toe rings on her big toes, appeared from the staff as the woman's body glowed brightly and smoke emanate from her very being, her eyes staring deep into the child's soul.

'Are...'

The woman, after a few moments to adjust herself, cracking every joint in her body, crossed her arms and bowed to the bow. "Say whatso thou wantest of me? Here am I, thy servant to whoso holdeth the Staff." 'Such olden tongue…I feel so….sickened to speak it.'

The boy's eyes widened in shock as he fell on his butt, unable to comprehend the 'ghost' in front of him or why….it made him both saddened and happy at the same time.

'Never alone.'

'Eh? Never alone? What does….nevermind.' the boy thought before the woman moved closer to him, her tone sounding more natural as she gave the boy a stare of…remorse.

"What is your name child, holder of the Staff?"

"...Ozpin." he said with a sad smile, feeling every fiber of his body breaking down with an unknown yet…nostalgic feeling. "I am Ozpin, Prince of Vale."

The screen flickered slightly before faded to black once more, a golden double crescent moon emblem with the words 'RWBY' under it appearing for a brief moment before all went dark.
