David and Dorothy finally discover what may have happened to their wives two weeks ago, to make them act the way they did. In Miami, Regina and Emma also try to make sense of everything. A nasty surprise awaits Henry.
The Gold Mansion
Having explained the process to them, Rumple used his magic on the little tray of hair, blood and serum, starting from the last frozen image staring back at them, and rewinding back over the last twelve days, until he got to the particular day and time he sought.
"So this is the morning of Monday, the 7th of July, nearly two weeks ago. The morning some of you headed off on a wild goose-chase, because of a false sighting of Fiona, The Black Fairy." David and Dorothy, watching closely, nodded. "You, Charming, took the decision to split your search time into pairs? Your respective wives paired up, to search together."
"I remember it well. They took the west side of the lake."
"Indeed. But they appeared to stray further into the central area, for reasons unknown. This serum and hair I'm using with the dreamcatcher, only allows us to see all of the times they were together, not alone. I'm starting from the moment they left the Sheriff's Office to begin the search..."
Twisting his fingers to cast his magic, the dream catcher came to life:
~oOo~
Monday 7th July – thirteen days ago
Ruby and Snow appeared to be climbing out of the wolf's station wagon. "I suggest we start here? I remember there's a little trail down, heading around the edge of the copse, rather than directly to the lake. If we split up here, you go around the top ridge and I'll go nearer the lake side? It's been a while, but I'm fairly sure I remember the paths converging in about a mile or so."
"No, David specifically asked us to stay together. And he's right. Emma said this Fiona bitch has seriously strong magic! I promised I'd stick by you. Or at least within smelling distance?"
Snow rolled her eyes. "He's just being overprotective, as usual. I'll be fine."
"No, I promised! Come on, we can do it together, and have a chat while we're at it? Besides, if we see Fiona, we'll call up the others. Only magic's going to bring her down, after all."
~oOo~
Rumple raised his hand, about to move the dreamcatcher images faster forward, when Dorothy spoke up.
"No, hang on? I want to hear what they were talking about."
"Very well…"
He stayed his hand, and the dreamcatcher continued:
~oOo~
For a few minutes, the two women carried on walking separately, until they came closer to talk again.
"So what are you doing for Neal's eighth?"
"Granny never told you? We're throwing him a little party in the diner, with some of his friends, then Emma's got a barbeque planned for the afternoon, on the Jolly Roger. Killian's said he's going to let him try his hand at sailing."
"Sounds fun. What should I buy him for a present? From Dot and me?"
"Oh, I shouldn't worry, he's going to get plenty as it is. But if you do, I know he's really keen on Spiderman. There's a new DVD he was asking about."
"I've seen it! I'll pick it up tomorrow. So…"
The dreamcatcher carried on in the same vein for another few minutes, and the two women said nothing of any particular relevance, just talking generally about family things and the next girls' night they were planning at Guido's. So Rumple fast forwarded to a point where Ruby stopped, sniffing the air:
"No one's been walking around here the last two days Snow, I'm sure of it! I'm picking up fox and rabbits, but not much else. Personally, I think if I was trying to stay hidden, I'd find somewhere more shielded, like down there?" She pointed to a darker copse on the opposite bank. "I know Regina and Emma are covering that side, but that's a much bigger area than ours, and a lot more dense. They'll never cover their bit in a day, magic or not. Perhaps we should help?"
"Makes sense. Okay, best stay close though, just in case. I'll lead."
~oOo~
Rumple stopped the dreamcatcher again.
"So I think that at this point, the relationship between the princess and the she-wolf is as per usual? Talking about all the usual, boring, achingly dull, day-to-day things that you heroes like to talk about?" His audience nodded, and Henry tried not to laugh, knowing his grandpa loved winding people up. "Okay, so let's move on to an hour later?"
He restarted the moving images, fast forwarding until the pair were seen to find a very well hidden derelict ruined cottage, beneath a low hanging canopy of leaves and branches. "To about…here."
~oOo~
"Rubes, you're not going to believe this?" Snow called from inside the door, as Ruby stood guard out the front. "It may be an old ruin out there, but this is…well, come inside and see for yourself?"
The taller woman entered, to discover a perfectly neat and tidy little farm cottage, completely at odds with the hovel outside. "My god! Snow, there's a fire on and lights? Someone's actually living here? We best get out."
"No, wait! There may be lights, but don't you find it odd that there's no light switches? And why would anyone light a wood fire, in the middle of a forest, in July? With no real heat coming from it? No, I've seen this sort of thing before. It's how Regina used to leave her summer house. There's magic here, definitely."
"All the more reason for us to get the hell out? Seriously, Snow, if the Black Fairy catches us, we're screwed!"
"It may look neat and tidy, but look at all the dust on that table? And the worktops. Hell even the floor! I can even see my footprints in it. No, I don't think there's been anyone in here for years."
"So how did this place stay hidden, for so long?"
"Beats me. But I'm fairly sure Fiona wouldn't be seen dead here; it's way too rustic. But I still don't like the thought of a hidden magic cottage on our doorstep? We need to tell the others."
Ruby had already walked over to the sink, wiping a hand over the drainer. "Looking at this dust, I think you're right, no one's been here for quite a while." She reached up to open a small wooden cupboard door high the sink. But the moment it opened, something that had been leaning against the door, fell out.
"What in hell?" A small glass jug fell from the cupboard, crashing onto the worktop, spraying part of its contents around, including a little on Ruby's clothes, then falling into the sink.
Looking down, Ruby saw that the flying object, was a jar, now cracked along its side.
"What happened?"
"Something fell out of that cupboard. But it smells kinda familiar?" Careful not to touch the broken edge, Ruby lifted the cracked glass jar up to her nose. "Poo-ey! I reckon whoever was in here, was trying to grow their own pot, or something? Smells a bit like weed."
"Really?" Snow joined her. "You know, I must be one of the only teachers in Maine who's never even smoked a spliff? Considering all my time in the forest and with the dwarves, who smoked all sorts of stuff, I always felt a bit nervous about trying anything like that. What does it smell like?" She moved closer as Ruby held it up, letting her take a deep sniff. "Mmm, sort of piney? Herby? But a bit rancid too?"
"Probably because it's stale. I tried a few things when I was in Oz, with Dot and Mulan. This must be seriously old. Never seen that green colour before, though. If it was abandoned, I guess some of the youngsters were using this place to hang out?"
"Possibly, but unlikely. You see that fire, and the lights? In July? Whoever did this could be back, and if it's Fiona we can't take her on alone, can we? ! So let's take a quick look around and get out of here, to tell the others."
~oOo~
Rumple chose that point to freeze the dreamcatcher yet again, turning again to his audience.
"When those two smelt the contents of that glass jar, which I currently have secured in that box in the corner, they thought it was merely hallucinogenic. But it was a lot more than that."
"So it's some sort of magical potion? Henry told us you thought it was Ingrid, the Ice Queen?"
Rumple nodded. "I visited her in that very cottage over five years ago. She died shortly after, not at my hand, I should add! And although some off the ingredients originally came from the Enchanted Forest, magic played no part in it. I examined it last night, along with a book she appeared to have been working from. I believe that she was originally trying to develop a potion to ensnare your daughter and the Arendelle queen when she was here. You may recall she was driven quite mad by that stage? However, I think she made an error with the ingredients, and left the result in that jar, to dispose of, later. She never had the opportunity."
"So this potion? It's designed to make someone fall in love with them?"
"No potion, nor any magic, can do that Charming. You may recall the first curse, and how you believed you were married to the Princess Abigail? Yet you felt no love for her, did you?"
"None. So, what the hell does it do?"
"It makes its victim trust implicitly, as you would a beloved parent, or loved one. Or a sister, in Ingrid's case. But in the form she created, accidentally or by design, it exaggerates existing feelings significantly. For example, if you were to already dislike Mrs. Lucas here," he pointed at Dorothy. "And she disliked you, after inhaling that, you'd probably wish to kill or seriously wound one another."
"Exaggerates feelings?" Dorothy frowned. "So, you're implying Ruby and Snow must have had some feelings towards each other already? Before they even smelt the potion?"
"That would be a logical conclusion, yes. It could also explain why your former sheriff and mayor changed so dramatically, from being merely close friends, to something more. The stronger the feelings before, the more exaggerated, after. That in turn would cause them to do things out of the ordinary."
"Such as break up their marriages?" Dorothy looked back at the frozen image on the screen. "Can we see what happens next, please?"
"Are you sure? Because having already seen this part this morning, I can tell you they go on to become rather intimate, within a matter of minutes."
"Please. I need to know who made the first move? And what they said to each other, just before, and just after. And I need to know whether this was really their first time?"
At that point, Henry thought he'd heard enough, standing. "O-kay then, if it's all the same, I think I'll wait outside, for this next bit? The other day, even though grandpa fast forwarded through it, I couldn't help seeing my own mothers having sex! That was bad enough, so I don't want to see my grandma doing something similar."
"Understood, Henry." David nodded, sympathetic. "But Dot's right unfortunately, there may be something relevant. I'll come out when it's over."
Miami
Yesterday had been a day for tears and grieving, but not much talking.
They'd barely spoken since Emma discovered Regina had experienced a similar 'epiphany' a day after her own. As a result, they kept their distance from one another. After breakfast, Emma decided to go for a run along the beach front and promenade. Anything to clear her head of so many dark thoughts. But the sheer exhaustion of two nearly sleepless nights had left her body exhausted. So much so, she almost fainted towards the end, and limped back to the hotel to discover, fortunately, that Regina wasn't in the room.
The former mayor herself had abandoned the suite and headed to the hotel's private beach, to rest under a parasol on a sun bed, praying sleep would eventually consume her. But it didn't. Eventually she retired to their room, only to find Emma already there, lying on the bed.
"You look like I feel!" Regina dropped her book and sunhat on the dresser. "Did the jog help?"
"Not in the slightest. I almost collapsed. It was a stupid idea in the first place as I just wanted to get away and clear my head. How are you feeling now?"
"Need you ask?" Regina stared down at the woman who had been her lover for the last two weeks. Who only two days ago, mattered more to her than life itself, and who she was happily considering starting a new life with. Now, the relationship between them was…awkward, to put it mildly.
Now that reality dawned for both of them.
She sat down on the bed exasperated, before rolling onto her back beside the brunette, closing her eyes.
"What are we going to do, Emma?" She sounded almost pitiful.
"I really have no idea, but I'm worried sick about Hope! After what she saw me do to her dad, she must hate me as much as he does. And Henry. And what I did to Roland keeps going round and round in my mind? I still can't believe that was me. What on earth possessed me to do that?"
Regina opened her eyes, rubbing her brow with her fingers, when she saw the bracelet tattoo on her arm. "I told Robin I'd kill him. Henry heard me."
"I don't remember that?"
"Hardly surprising, he virtually punched you unconscious, for hitting Roland. I told him, that if I ever saw him again in Storybrooke, I'd kill him." Regina shook her head in disbelief, disgusted with herself. "Imagine that? Me, vowing to kill the very man who saved me by sacrificing his life to save my worthless one? I know Robin too well. He'll never forgive me for that."
"I remember that punch. He all but broke my jaw! Still, I can't say I blame him. If someone did to my kid, what I did to his, I'd kill 'em on the spot!"
"Probably the reason Henry insisted on the cuff," Regina studied the offending tattoo. "I'm assuming the moment we go back over the town line, Gold's arranged that they transform back into bracelets. Though I hate his guts, I have to hand it to him; he learns about weaknesses, and fixes them."
"So you're thinking about going back?" Emma studied her own.
"Like we have a choice? Emma, if we don't, we may never see our son, or you your daughter, ever again! I'll just have to apologise, beg forgiveness, and take whatever they throw at me. Then, maybe, in time, either Henry will take the cuffs off, or we find a way to do it ourselves."
"You know we'll be arrested the moment we get there, don't you? Without magic, we can't avoid it. We'll be charged and, as there were plenty of witnesses, convicted. There's certainly no chance of me becoming sheriff again, that's for sure! For what I did, I'm looking at anything from six months to ten years, because of I physically assaulted four people, including a minor. You'll probably be let off on a technicality."
"We don't know that. I did threaten Robin in front of everyone, but one thing's for certain, I'll never be mayor again. I've managed to unite the whole town against me, including Robin."
"Well if you're serious about going back, I don't think I'll be going with you. Sorry."
"But what about Hope? Henry? Your parents?"
"What use will I be to them in a jail cell? No, I guess I'll just have to write to them and try to tell them I was overcome with some sort of madness, that made me act like that. Shit, I wasn't even this destructive when I was The Dark One!"
"But your parents? Surely they'd fight for your freedom?"
"Maybe," Emma sighed loudly, closing her eyes again. "I haven't seen dad for weeks! And we saw mum the day we left, when she told me…" Emma's mind drifted. She hadn't really been paying attention at the time. "Shit, I completely forgot, she said she'd just split up with dad! And I…I…just ignored her? I just wanted to get away from there. Away from all of them!"
"As did I, and I remember that, too." Regina cast her mind back four days ago. "Snow said they were getting a divorce. Kathryn already told me the day before that she'd lost her job at the school. Something about hitting one of the children? It also appears she and Lucas was caught doing something in the park. Indecent exposure, apparently. Her grandmother kicked her out of the diner. Poor Dorothy. Must have been a blow."
"Never mind poor fucking Dorothy! What about my dad? And there's me, not even listening to her? What kind of a daughter am I when my own mother tells me her marriage is over, and I just fuck off and leave her there, on the doorstep?"
"Well, at least she has Ruby to console her now?" Emma's scowl told her that was inappropriate. "Sorry."
"It's not funny, Regina! They've split up! They're supposed to have, like, the best marriage of all of us? They share a goddam heart, and supposed to be true love, for god's sake? It's only because of them I even have magic." An overwhelming sadness fell over her. "And what about Neal? How the hell's all this going to affect him? I even forgot his birthday party! Killian was going to-"
But something Emma had blurted out, made Regina suddenly sit up.
"Say that again?"
"About Neal? What about-"
"NO, NOT THAT! About true love?"
"Well...stands to reason. Gold, and even Merlin, said it's the strongest magic of all. Yet it's done nothing to save the perfect marriage, despite everything."
"That's just it, it should never have happened! It defies magic! Snow and Charming definitely had it, as they proved when they woke each other up from sleeping curses, and gave you magic. Ruby Lucas woke her future wife the same way, didn't she? Yet that same true love magic still didn't stop Snow and Ruby cheating on their partners. And not just cheating, but ditching them completely, for each other."
"Like we did? Is that what you're saying?"
"Frankly, I'm not quite sure what I'm saying. Though the sudden change from two apparently happy true-love marriages, to committing adultery, does seem rather coincidental, don't you think?" Though unlike us, they had history."
"Snow and Ruby?" Now Emma sat up. "You're kidding right?"
"When I first became queen, and Snow fled Misthaven, in fear for her life, my spies regularly reported sightings of her. She teamed up with Lucas, or Red as she was known then, and before they hid in the forest, they often stayed in the homes of some of my enemies. One of them, a count, hid them for over a week in his retreat. I had a spy there, acting under cover as a chambermaid. Snow had left before my troops got there. But reported that the relationship between the wolf and your mother was also physical, apparently. This was of course, shortly before Charming came on the scene. I assume they ended anything between them, before that."
"I had no idea." Emma shook her head in disbelief. "My own mum, Snow White's, a lesbian? I wonder if dad knew.""
"That word wasn't even known then. Nor was 'gay'. However, any homosexual relationship would have met with strong disapproval in the royal court. If the King were alive at the time, and I'd known, no doubt as the Evil Queen, I would have used the information to ruin things between him and his daughter. He would have had to disown, or at the least, banish her."
"So Ruby and Snow must have still had some feelings for each other after she got married. Why are you telling me all this Regina, because if it's to try and make me feel better, it's not working!"
"Because again, the similarities between their situation and ours are too coincidental."
"Hardly! They'd been in a relationship before, whereas the two of us-"
"Had romantic feelings towards each other, but never acted on them." She noticed the awkward look come over the blonde. "What? It's true! There's no point in feeling embarrassed now. After all, we've both admitted it to one another enough times recently for god's sake, haven't we? But we just happen to be in love with the people we chose to marry, a lot more. But for some reason, in a moment of madness, everything changed. Temporarily, it would seem! But not before we wrecked everything we held dear. Just as Lucas and your mother have wrecked their own lives. I wonder if they're now having their own regrets? As I said, it all seems far too coincidental, don't you think?"
"I get the point. So four women, all in positions of power and influence, all in good marriages, all-" Emma realised where she was going with this. "You're thinking this was deliberately caused by someone else? Like they've cursed us, or our memories, somehow?"
Regina slowly nodded. "It seems more than plausible."
"So what do we do about it? Where do we start? Before we even think about going back to Storybrooke, we need a plan!"
"We first need to figure out how, and when, it happened."
"Good point." Emma pondered. "What's the connection between all of us. Apart from the fact we're all women, obviously."
"Perhaps that's where we should start. You told me the other week that you started having proper feelings for me in Camelot, and that you'd already had relationships with a couple of girls in your earlier years? Was that before Henry's father? Have you ever told anyone in Storybrooke you were bisexual, apart from me?"
"Hardly! You know I hate talking about that sort of stuff. Archie Hooper knows. And Neal before that. But I wouldn't have called them relationships, it was really just sex. Comfort, I suppose. I may be bi, but I'm more into men than women, if I'm honest. What about you?"
"Rather similar to you. I did have a deeper relationship with another woman many years ago. But my experience with men wasn't exactly extensive, either. But like you, the big relationships in my life have been men. I've told Hooper, but no one else in the town knew. I told Robin when we were discussing marriage."
"The woman? Maleficent, right?" Emma sported a small grin, her first in days.
"How did you...?"
"The way she looks at you, whenever you walk in the diner. Like she wanted you on your back there and then? The way she keeps calling you kitten?" Emma snorted, trying not to laugh. "Robin told me."
"Robin told you about Mal and I?" She was mortified. Damn, she should never have told him in the first place!
"No, he didn't tell me about that! I just asked him why she calls you kitten? He said he hadn't asked her, but it's probably because you purr in your sleep? He's right, you do!" She broke out into a little snigger, and it even made Regina smile. "So, of the four of us, only Ruby was openly gay. I don't think that's the connection. But I agree, it does like like somebody caused this to happen."
"It does, doesn't it? And I have a pretty good idea who's behind it."
"Gold! Stands to reason. He's the only one with the motive. And the magic."
"And he benefits directly. He gains control over Storybrooke, without our interference, and no one can stop him. He also now has total influence over Henry."
"How do we stop him?"
Back at the Gold Mansion
It had been the most uncomfortable half-hour of David's life. And Dorothy's.
After restarting the moving images and sound on the dreamcatcher, they had watched the events unfold shortly after the two women on screen had sniffed the liquid Rumpelstiltskin claimed was potion. It was less than five minutes after that, that Snow White had pulled herself against Ruby Lucas, kissing her passionately. David had briefly turned away at that point, though Dorothy's eyes never left the screen, as she watched her own wife respond in kind. As the pair became ever more heated, Snow was pushed back onto a bed, Ruby mounting her, and in an urgent frenzy, clothes were quickly removed, as they set about having sex. Unknowingly, in front of their own partners!
For David, his initial shock turned to annoyance as Snow gasped words of love and need to the wolf. Then, from annoyance to disgust, as Snow allowed the wolf to perform the sort of intimate acts on her which only he had (or so he believed), in the past. Then from disgust to sadness, after she screamed Ruby's name to the rooftops, before finally wresting to lie beside her, both naked, on top of the sheets. Dorothy's eyes still never left the dreamcatcher, though he noticed tears now sliding down her cheeks.
But despite all the pain they'd endured, there was an even bigger shock or both, at the end:
~oOo~
The dreamcatcher continued playing:
Snow fell off her, panting, trying to get her breath back before curling into her lover, resting her head on her exposed breast. "On god Rubes, that was wonderful! I'd forgotten what it felt like. It took me right back to the old days!"
"Yeah…" Ruby puffed. "I remember that all too well. You always were the best kisser, Snow, ever! And way more imaginative between the sheets than anyone I ever met since. I see you still haven't lost your touch?" She kissed the top of her head. "You sure you've never been with any other women since the last time we did that?"
"None. You were my last since I got married. Apart from the curse, when I thought I was Mary Margaret, obviously. I wish I'd never left it so long, quite frankly. How about you?"
"How about me, what?"
"After the curse broke, and you remembered who you were? Men? Women?"
"I kinda stuck with other women, after that. Not totally, and nothing serious, mind, even before I got married."
"And since?" Snow looked up at her, a sly smirk on her face, before kissing her exposed nipple. "Apart from Dorothy, obviously. Am I your first since then?"
"Well that's an odd question?" The wolf looked down at her, tempted to lie, but knowing Snow could probably tell if she did. She was her closest friend, after all. "Why do you ask?"
"That's a deflection, if ever I heard one! We never lie to each other, remember?"
"Well," she sighed. She should have felt guilty, but in her arms, she didn't. "There may have been the odd…dalliance…from time to time. Only sex, mind!"
Snow's face turned more serious. "Well if it's who I think it is, you need to be really careful, Rubes! Her husband's a very dangerous guy to cross!"
It was Ruby's turn to look worried. "What makes you think you know who it is?"
"I notice things. And I notice the look you give people when you're interested in them. It's different to your usual. But if it's her, you're playing with fire!"
"Do you think anyone else noticed?"
"I doubt it, but I know you too well. Still, we all knows you flirt with everyone, men or women, so you'd probably get away with it, unlike most of us. But still, you need to watch yourself."
"Well perhaps I won't need to scratch that particular itch…" Ruby wrapped and arm around her, before pushing her back and rolling herself on top, settling between her legs. "…if I know you're still interested in me? Because if I had you, I'd give everything else up tomorrow!"
"You would? Dorothy? And your…little friend?"
"Without any hesitation. If I knew I had you all to myself?"
Snow lifted her head to seize her lips yet again. "I like that idea."
~oOo~
And at that point, Rumple stopped the dreamcatcher once again, with the suspended image of Ruby lying n top of Snow on the crumpled bedsheets, as all three viewers remained silent.
David finally broke it. "Well I've certainly learned something. I thought I knew everything there was to know about Snow. But I had no idea those two were lovers before I came on the scene, potion or no potion? I guess you're right Gold. It does seem to exaggerate their feelings, markedly."
But Rumple wasn't listening, his mind elsewhere. Dorothy spoke up, instead.
"I knew it'd be tough to watch, but at least it told me what I'd already suspected was true. That my wife, my supposed true love, is a lying bitch, who's been cheating on me long before she even went into that damn cottage!" She looked up at David, her eyes no longer betraying tears of sadness, but anger.
"I'm so sorry, Dot." He stood, stepping nearer to try and offer her some comfort. As he opened his arms to hug her, not knowing what to say, she pulled herself tight against his chest, accepting his warmth. "I know it hurts."
But Rumple still hadn't spoken, his mind going back over what the wolf had said. Again and again.
"Mr. Rumple?" His train of thought was broken by Dorothy now stepping back from Charming. "You said that serum you made out of their hair, only lets us see images of when the two of them were together?" The Dark One finally looked up, nodding. "Is there any way you could change it somehow, so that it could show us when Ruby was alone, or better still, with someone other than Snow?"
He remembered he still had half the wolf's blood vial left. "You know, I think there may be a way!"
~oOo~
Meanwhile…
After leaving his grandfather's study, Henry had gone into the living room half an hour ago, where he now sat, his MacBook on the antique desk, reading up on further requirements for forthcoming Harvard entrants. At least it helped take his mind off the problems with his mothers.
But he was interrupted when his phone rang, the display showing an unrecognisable local number.
"Hello, Henry Mills speaking."
"Henry? Thank god it's you!"
"I'm sorry, who is this? Do I know you?"
"It's Chrissy. Chrissy Long. We went to school together. I'm a nurse at the hospital now."
"Chrissy! Sorry, I should have recognised your voice! How's things? What can I do for you?"
"I got given your number by Ruby Lucas. She says she's not allowed to call you herself? I was trying to reach your grandad, David Nolan, but I didn't have his number. You need to get over here, fast!"
"Why? What is it? What's wrong?"
~oOo~
Back in his other grandfather's study, David and Dorothy were getting ready to leave.
"I think, Charming, that I should speak to Mrs. Nolan, or perhaps I should be saying Miss Gale, alone. There's several issues we need to discuss."
"Like your price? I know you Gold, and your services always come with a price."
"Perhaps not this time. It may well be that our needs may be aligned. Plus, this is part of a request from Henry, and I would never dream of charging my own grandson, as I said previously."
David was about to give him a usual acerbic response when Henry burst through the door!
"Grandpa?" Both grandparents turned to look at him. "Grandpa David?"
"Henry? What is it? What's-" But David's words were cut off instantly, when he felt a fierce, stabbing pain in his chest! Followed by a spasm that almost took the legs from under him. He collapsed into the nearby chair, clutching his heart. "AARGH! HELL!"
"DAVID!" Dorothy screamed. "WHAT IS IT?"
But David was in no state to answer, his hands tight against his chest, clearly in agony, as Dorothy dropped down beside him, even though she had no idea what to do. It appeared he was having some sort of heart attack?
"Henry, my boy," Rumple was already on his feet. "What's happened."
"It was the hospital! It's Grandma Snow! They took her in anhour ago!" Henry looked down at his grandfather, who lay still, waiting for the piercing pain in his chest to stop. "They found her unconscious in the the loft." David finally looked up, registering what he'd just said.
"They also found pills. Someone I know said it looks like she tried to take an overdose!"
~oOo~
