Please no matter what you may read, please continue reading. This Chapter is a Birthday gift for my Great Aunt Helen. I call her Hotsie and she was my first fan of my stories.
Even though Danny knew, Grace was happy with what they chose to do with that old man. Her Gi Gi still had been acting off the last few days. So she decided to take her Gi Gi shopping. Her father in law / Uncle Luke's birthday is in a week. Grace had always considered Luke to be one of her kids. They had been walking around the mall for about 20 minutes, when it happened. They had 4 CPOs surrounding them. Out of no where Danny heard.
"GET DOWN"
An just as she heard those words , she was pushed out of the way. As she was falling she heard a gun shot. Danny looked up in horror, when she realized who got shot.
Danny had her Grandmother on her back holding pressure on the gun shot wound. As she was doing this she was screaming orders at her men.
"Call an ambulance , then Call Val, get him to the hospital now. Then call Bob, we need to make sure this is reported."
Then Danny got her head close to her wrist, still holding pressure on the wound.
"Call Dad."
It was only a second before her Dad answered. Christian was with CJ, as Ana watched the kids. CJ was giving Christian an update on some new tech. Now Danny has never showed her vulnerability, but she could not stop it from seeping out this time.
"Daddy Gi Gi's been shot, I need you."
Christian's heart was beating fast, he could hardly breathe. But he pulled himself together fast.
" Are you ok Mini Me? Tell me everything , I'm on my way. Are you still at the mall?"
"I'm ok Daddy. Yes we are at the mall."
As Christian and CJ raced to his car, Danny told him everything. CJ called Carrick and told him to get to the mall as fast as he could. The three men got their just as the ambulance was putting Grace in the back. Carrick jumped in as they drove off. CJ and Christian both pulled Danny in their arms. It was kinda awkward, but they did not care. Danny was not in tears or anything like that. But both men knew Danny was very upset. After a few minutes they pulled apart. Then Bob walked up to them.
"Mrs. Sawyer-Grey I know this is not the best of times but I have some questions for you. My Name is detective Adams."
"Yes Detective , I will answer the best I can but I didn't see much because my Grandmother pushed me out of the way."
With Danny not seeing anything, Bob was done asking questions pretty fast. They left as the news vans arrived, just as they were leaving for the hospital. On the way their Bob called Christian, if their was anything he needed from him. They arrived to fine Carrick and the rest of the family minus Ana and the young kids waiting in the waiting room. Christian and Danny walked stright up to Carrick. Carrick pulled his Granddaughter in his arms as his son spoke.
"Any news on Mom, Dad"
"Not Much, they said they would do everything they could for her. Val is in the back making sure they make all the right calls."
"That's good Dad, You know Val will make sure their take good care of Mom
About 20 minutes later, a nurse took Danny, Carrick , Mac and Christian to Grace's room. That was all that was aloud back there, because someone was already back there. The nurse could not tell them much, but Grace was sleeping from the pain meds and in stable condition. When they got to the room, they found a sleeping Grace and Val reading her chart. Val looked up when the three of them entered the room. The news was all so on. Val was talking to his Dad, Granddad and sister trying not to be to loud. Nether one wanted to wake her.
Just as they finished up their conversation, the local news came on. The first words out of the reporters mouth was.
Millionaire Christian Grey's Mother Grace Trevelyan Grey was shot at this very mall not that long ago. We are still waiting on the hospital to confirm anything. But the police say she was in critical condition and was not expected to make it, when she was taken to the hospital.
Just as the reporter finished her statement, and Carrick was just about to speak out in horror about what the news said about his wife. All five in the room turned, when they heard a tired shaky voice speak.
"Am I really that bad?"
They were kinda in shock but Christian was the first to run to the side of his Mother's bed.
"Of course not Mom, Val just told us you will be just fine. We just did that because we needed Puddu to think he succeed, in hurting one of you two tonight."
Grace was only shot in her fore arm. Their was not even that much blood, Val could have taken care of his Grandma at home. But because it was a public shooting, they had to do things the right way. Danny grabbed her Grandad's hand to try and calm him down. This was not the time or place for him to explode. Just like Christian and Danny, Carrick can hide his anger well. But not from his family.
Carrick kissed his Granddaughters cheek in thanks and went to the other side of his wifes bed. He kissed his wifes forehead and grabbed his wife's hand and kissed her hand.
"Mom I will not even ask, how you feel because I already know. I've been there a time or two. But I will say even after 54 years, you still find ways to amaze me. I don't even know where to begin to try and repay you. You took a …."
Christian was stop with a figure over his lips by his Mother. Still with a tired voice, Grace spoke.
"An you never have to my baby boy. I do what I do because I love you, your brothers, sisters, my grandkids and great grandkids so much. I would die for you guys.
Even though Christian knew is mother will be just fine, what she said still brought a single tear to his eye. He maybe the most feared man in the United States of America and over 50 years old. He will always be his Momma's boy. Sure he already knew everything his Mom said, but she still amazes him.
After another 15 minutes or so, Christian, Danny, Val and Mac left the room. So the others can see that Grace is ok for themselves. There was no way Carrick was leaving his Princess. Even if she was gonna be perfectly fine. Val took Danny, Christian and Mac to his office so they can talk about the next steps. When they were driving to the hospital, Christian and Danny made more then one phone call. They called all the families they work with like the Gallo's and told them that a Princess was shot. An the fucker got away. The four CPOs protecting Grace and Danny saw the fucker Puddu running off. But their first and only job was to protect the Princesses. They did call for backup, that was waiting outside but it was to late.
With any luck they will have one Keith Puddu in 24 hours. With all the families knowing he is in the area. No way he would slip through their fingers again. After a few minutes of talking, Christian turned to his daughter.
"Mini Me?"
"Yes Daddy"
"I know you are wearing your belly guard , but I still want your Auntie to check you out. An if she gives you the a ok, then and only then you can take the lead on this. After all you were the one their when your Grandmother got shot. But also I think you are the only one likely to have a clear enough head to deal with this mess."
"Yes Daddy, I will as soon as Auntie Mia leaves Gi Gi's room. CJ would want me to also."
All Christian did was nod in agreement at that statement. They talked for a few more minutes, then the Doctor treating his mother knocked on Val's office door.
"Mr Grey, my name is Dr Richard Ziolkowski. Your father requested I make all arrangements for your Mother to go home with you. Also the news is requesting an update on your Mother's condition. I'm not sure why, but the police told the news that your mother was in critical condition and not expected too make it."
"Please don't give them an update. My personal security and the police believe in till we find out who shot at my daughter and mother, its best they think my mother is not going to make it and that they succeeded ."
"If that is what you wish Mr. Grey. Now About your mother, I wish she would stay over night so we could keep an eye on her. Even though, it was not that bad the gun shot. Do you think you or maybe your son Dr. Grey or any family member can convince your mother to stay. Your father could not. The next 24 hours we have to watch for serious infections."
Even though Christian knew his Mom would be fine at the mall and he had, everything as uncontrol as possible. It still has been a very stressful couple hours. So when the doctor actually asked him. if he or anyone else could get his Mother to change her mind about something she didn't want to do, he doubled over laughing.
At first the doctor was shocked, but then just very confused. So he looked at Danny and Mac with a straight face that ended up making those two laugh along with Christian. After a few minutes Christian got his laughter under control and he spoke to the Doctor.
"Sorry Doctor Ziolkowski, Its just even the idea you thinking that anyone of us have a chance at changing the mind of Grace Trevelyan Grey is very funny. She is the most stubborn, hard headed woman to walk this earth."
The doctor made nothing of what Christian said, and spoke again.
"I most insist that you try."
All three just looked at each other. Neither one wanted to upset Grace. After a minute Mac nodded that he would try. Then they headed back to the waiting room. CJ had his Princess in his arms within seconds. He pulled his oldest boy Sal and his wife Nancy into his arms.
"Did you Call your Mother, Sal?"
"Yes Dad, She is happy that Gi Gi will be ok."
Then he turn to his daughter in law Nancy. She was about five months along and had a lovely baby bump.
"An how are you and my Granddaughter Sweetie?"
"We are good Dad, Sal thinks we are having another Danny. She already loves to kick box."
That made Christian laugh.
"That's the Grey blood, Nancy. The women are strong even in the womb."
That put a huge smile on Nancy's face. Mean while in Grace's hospital room. Mac knocked and walked in.
"Hey Gracie, how's one of my favorite Girls "
That put a huge smile on Grace's face. Their friends always joked that her and her sister Daniella shared husbands. Mac has always treated her as if she was, his other wife.
"I'm good Mac, I just want to go home and see my Grandbabies."
That put a frail smile on Mac's face. Witch immediately told Grace something was wrong. At first Grace was concerned, but then her face turned angry.
"That Little fucker, wants you to get me to change my mind about going home."
At first Mac was a bit shocked. But then again just like his Daniella, Grace can read him like an open book. Plus she rarely swears.
"Yes Gracie, he asked Christian, Danny and Myself. We told them it would not work, but he asked for us to try."
A few minutes after that, Val walked into the room. He had convinced the doctor to release, his Grandmother. As long as Val agreed to stay at his Grandparents house. Not that it would be a big issue. His Grandmother loved it when any of her kids, Grandkids or great grandkids stayed. Christian, himself drove his father, mother, daughter and Godson himself. Val would meet them there, he had to pick up his husband.
Christian kissed his Mom on the cheek, as his father took her right arm and helped her into the house. Then he drove himself and his kids home. As they drove up to the house, they saw Apollonio Tommy Gallo waiting outside their car for them. CJ kissed his wife and said.
"I will see you two in side. Don't be to long Princess."
"Yes CJ'
As CJ was walking into the house, Apollo and Tommy shook Christian's hand. An Danny got a kiss on the cheek, after all they are considered to be as good as their close family.
"What's going on Uncle?"
"Well Christian, we wanted to drop off an early birthday gift for your mother."
Grace's 72nd birthday was in two days. Not that anyone would believe she was 72. At the most middle to late 50s, you would think if you looked at Grace Trevelyan Grey.
"Is that right, Apollo."
Apollo turned to his son and nodded. Tommy popped the truck of their SUV. An what Christian and Danny saw, put a huge smile on their faces. In the truck of the Gallo's truck was a bound and gagged Keith Puddu in nothing but his tighty whiteys. After a few seconds, Christian smirked and spoke to the man he considered his Uncle.
"What do you say Uncle, lets call Dad and Mom. Mom should see her birthday gift. Then let Dean drive our guests to the warehouse. An we go inside and dip into my Jack Danial's Ol #7, aged over 50 years whiskey."
For a spilt second, Apollo and Tommy acted like they were thinking about it. Christian and the rest of them walked in the grove. Christian called his father, first thing.
"What's up Christian? Is Everything Ok?"
"Everything is great Dad. I need you and Mom to get here as soon as possible."
"Are you sure Christian, your Mother should be resting."
"Positive Dad. Its really important."
"Ok son, we will be there in a couple of minutes."
Both Grace and Carrick knew something was up when they drove up the drive way. They saw the Gallos, Christian and Danny standing outside just talking. Carrick got out of the car and walked around and helped his Princess out of the SUV. They greeted the Gallos.
"Now son what's more important then, your mother getting the rest she needs."
"Well Dad, Uncle Apollo and Tommy have an early birthday gift for Mom."
Putting a bright smile on Grace's face. She has always loved getting early birthday gifts. Even though every year she tells her family she does not want anything for her birthday. An a suspicious look crept on to Carrick's face. What kind of gift could not wait, two days to be given.
"Is that so Christian and where could it be, this gift."
Christian turned to Tommy and gestured to him to open the trunk of his Dad's SUV. An just like Danny and Christian, Grace and Carrick had huge smiles on their faces. Now normally Grace would not want anything to do with something like this, but this is under different circumstances. This bastard shot at her precious Granddaughter. An if the situation could be any worse, her precious granddaughter is with child. Grace does not care that, Danny is fear by so many and that she has killed so many. Just like her father will always be her baby boy, she will always her Precious.
"Dean is going to take this piece of trash to the warehouse. An we where going to celebrate with a nice glass of my finest whiskey. Care to join us?"
"Of course darling, I just need to call Damien and Val. Just to let them know where we are."
"Already texted them Gi Gi. They said they would be right over."
With that Dean drove off, as the family and the Gallo's walked over into the grove. About ten minutes after that Val and Damien showed up. Christian poured glasses for all in the house hold, enough to drink. That included Gail and the CPOs that were there. An he sent the young kids off to play.
"This has been a crazy couple of months. A Birthday party being crashed. Some of us got arrested. A beloved Princess got shot. But through it all we have stood strong. An now with the help of our family in all but blood, (The Gallo's are considered family, but because they are another Mob family, they can not be considered blood family.) we have the enemy that has alluded us for so long."
Chapter 11 Happy Birthday Gi Gi
Grace walked into the living room of her oldest son's home, to find all of her family and closest friends. As she made it to the center of the room music started. Grace knew the song right away. It was a song called a song for Momma by boyz to men. When her boys wore little they would sing it for her birthday and mothers day. But it has been many years since they sang it for her.
Her boys stepped forward, all three dressed grey almost black suits, with light blue shirts and no ties. An Christian started the song off like always.
