The screen began to bubble and boil as the familiar silver door rose from it's depths, the thick purple chains corroding and breaking apart as the door opened up and bathed everything in dark purple.
From the tainted light, came a single red eye that glared at the screen before the door slammed shut and everything became static, a crumbling rose symbol appearing every so often as the title began to form.
The Ruinverse: Chapter Ninety Six, To Rule Them All.

-Remnant, Anima, Mistral, Outside Haven Academy-
The sun shone upon the exquisite white and gold wooden structure known as Haven Academy, its many students walking to and fro from the courtyard to the inner grand halls, each one getting ready for either training, classes or just getting a bite to eat in the city.
Over all, this was a very normal day for the city of Mistral in general…yet something felt…off for some reason.
As the students moved in and out of the academy, each one seemed to have a sense of confusion in their eyes, as if their worldview was altered for some strange reason, their eyes darting from side to side to catch anything off about the closest person or the nearest object's flaws.
Clunk.
Clunk.
Clunk.
Some of the students blinked as the sound of footsteps rang in their ears, turning around to locate the source yet finding nothing but empty space and buildings in their line of sight, making each one raise an eyebrow at this strange phenomenon.
"GRRRRR!"
"AROOOO!"
But in an instant, the sounds of the Creatures of Grimm rang across the courtyard, causing many to panic as a black mass of monstrous beasts erupted from the ground and from within the academy itself, each one charging towards the students with blood covered jaws.
"AAAAAHHH!"
"THE GRIMM!"
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" one of the students screamed while running into the city, followed by many of their compatriots as the Grimm charged after them, mauling anyone that was too slow or frozen with fear at the thousands of innumerable monsters that somehow breached the city defenses.
Clunk.
Clunk.
Clunk.
Yet…as the students continued to evacuate the academy in terror, none of them realized that the Grimm, despite being capable of breaking walls without flinching…were phasing through the walls and pillars as if they were made of light particles.
And all the while, the large marble statue of a woman in golden chains was collapsing through a hidden tunnel system…
With no one operating the controls inside the elevator within said statue.
(A few minutes later)
-Vault of the Spring Maiden-
Ping!
Clank.
The doors began to open into a large cave with a large gray platform, sporting three cyan circles on the stone floor, over a deep chasm, the sound of splashing water echoing across the cave as large triangular stones loomed at the far end of the platform.
Above this stone 'wall' was a massive tree with deep orange flowers on its branches that snaked around one of the larger stones and towards the right side of the stone as a large wooden doorway, protected by four large gold fans with curved vine-like designs from every side like a group of butterflies, stood near the base of the 'wall' and seemed to be untethered to the 'wall' itself.
As the doors quickly closed again, the cyan circles began to light up, despite no one entering the vault…at all.
Yet as the circles continued to be illuminated by an unknown presence, the sound of heavy breathing reverberated across the cave before suddenly stopping, leaving all as quiet as a dormouse once more.
(Elsewhere)
-Unknown Location-
WOOOOSH!
Across the endless dunes of orange sand, devoid of life itself, a wooden doorway loomed in the middle of the sands, overlooking three dark brown stone platforms that were barely submerged in the sea of sand.
And in the center of the third circle was a small rock fixture with a floating gold lamp with a light blue orb center and a single hoop-like ring on the top of it, seemingly the only thing of color in this orange dominated landscape.
Clunk.
Clunk.
WOOOOSH!
Footstep after footstep could be barely heard from the barrage of wind currents, an approaching sandstorm in the near future, as strange clawed footprints appeared in the sand…as if someone was within this dry and desolate environment.
Clank.
The lamp's handle began to move as something 'pulled' the object from its resting place.
WOOOSH!
In a flash of blue and gold light, a cloud of blue smoke began to cover the area, its gaseous form rising upwards until it took a humanoid form, which took the appearance of an extremely tall naked light blue skinned woman with long flowing dark blue hair that went to her ass, dark blue eyes with a light blue iris, long pointed ears with two large gold hoop earrings on both earlobes, two small gold earrings on the right ear, a J cup chest and massive ass, dark blue nails, wearing a gold headdress made of interlocking chains, a gold choker with light blue gemstones etched into it, a gold bracelet on her upper left shoulder, gold cuffs with two gold chains attached at the ends, a gold belt made of chains wrapped around her waist and held together by a three pronged ring on the left side, gold anklets and a light blue wisp-like skirt composed out of smoke going down her legs and towards the ground like a trail, whose expression was initially filled with excitement before turning into confusion at the lack of sentient lifeforms in the area.
"...ok, who touched the lamp?" she muttered before noticing her lamp was still 'floating' in midair. "Oh, so the person is invisible, and looking rather…haggard. Come on, show yourself. I won't bite."
Zoosh.
And lo, from out of the nothing in a hazy 'fog', came a horrible sight, a tall extremely thin tan skinned young woman with long messy pale mint green hair that went down to her feet and covered her eyes, dull red sunken eyes, a F cup chest and wide ass, nailless fingers, wearing a sleeveless short olive crop top covered in dried blood, dirtied white half-gloves, two dark brown belts with two pouches on the front side and two large holsters sporting two leather brown firearms with dark gray metallic blades on the back side, ripped light leather brown chaps that went to her knees and were tied in the back by red string, torn dark green knee high pants and was barefoot, whose expression was lifeless as if her mind was senile or broken in some way at a younger age as in her left fingers was a small golden ring that shimmered in the sunlight like a small ball of fire.
"I didn't mean the host, show yourself." Jinn said with a frown as she kept herself from gagging at the sight of this woman's condition. 'It's like she was trapped under the ground for decades and forgot how to exist as a human…or it could be 'it's' doing. Such an unnatural sight to behold.'
The girl, her blank gaze never faltering, released the ring and allowed it to fall on the sand before she fell face first on the sand, not moving or even breathing.
Bubble.
Bubble.
SIIISSSSSSS!
The ring began to glow brightly, the sand around it turning to glass as the ring began to melt, transforming into a small bubbling puddle of gold that started to stretch upwards, twisting and bending like unnatural branches.
Bubble.
Bubble.
And lo, from the metallic puddle of gold came a tall thin naked gold skinned woman with long flowing gold hair that trailed downwards to her feet and curled at the tip, dull gold eyes, short pointed ears, a G cup chest and large ass, long curled nails and thin dark red runes on her arms, legs, chest and hips, whose expression was filled with arrogance laced with an air of sophisticated mannerisms, as her body glowed a faint orange hue and the glass shards and sand near her feet began to turn into obsidian.
"Huh, a ring with a spirit. I feel like someone's copying someone." the woman teased while the golden skinned woman stared at her with annoyance. "So, what answer do you desire?"
"I have not come for answers, for I need none." the gold skinned woman said with a soft feminine voice that made the very air 'freeze' in place. "I have, however, come to meet the woman known as Jinn, wisest of the gods of this broken world, and take note of her wisdom. Yet, upon seeing you, I consider the rumors to be false."
Jinn raised an eyebrow at the woman's words while feeling a little offended. "Oh really? I'm not wise? I was created to BE the keeping of all knowledge, how can I be false in that regard?"
"You only know about the affairs of this insignificant realm, I knew of gods more wise than you in all manner of subjects, from war to peace. Great crafts of Aulë brought forth the orbs known as the sun and moon while dreaded Mandos knows all and forgets not, for all the gods beyond this place of broken hopes are timeless, ageless and lived longer than the brothers you so serve." the woman said with a smirk. "In terms of beauty and wisdom, you are but a shade amongst the fair women of the gods, for Vairë creates the fates of all wisdom and Vána outshines the concept of natural beauty itself."
"..." Jinn's eyes narrowed in anger at the woman's words, her devotion to the Twin Gods and her own unique traits being blemished by this woman's arrogant pleasantries. "You really have guts calling me stupid to my face. I might not know WHO you are or what those names are, but I will not be made a FOOL by you missy, not one bit."
The woman chuckled at the giant's anger as she crossed her arms under her chest. "Relax oh spirit of the lamp, I have not come here to fight, but to see who is the true holder of wisdom. You, a specter of knowledge that sleeps not for a hundred years at a time, or me, traveler of the world and spouse of a god of order?"
"...and what do you propose?" Jinn frowned while feeling like this woman was holding…ulterior motives behind that arrogant smile. "A challenge?"
"Yes. One not fought with swords and axes, but of words and creativity."
"I don't see it." She deadpanned while pointing to the 'lifeless' body in the sand. "You're little friend there wasn't much of a 'creative' person, and I think she's dead."
"She lives, for I bring with me the gift of life upon the bearer of the ring." the woman said while seemingly brushing aside the fact the girl was even part of the conversation. "But know that my words are like silk in a world of broken language and crushed words, thus I conclude upon your person, the challenge of riddle making, the art that changes the flow of fate itself."
"Mmmm, but will be gained from this challenge? What will I gain from you besides bragging right?" Jinn asked with a frown.
"Knowledge is the currency we both crave, thus the winner will be known as 'Mistress of the Secret Knowledge' and hold the knowledge of the other forevermore." the woman said calmly. "But if one guesses wrong on a single riddle's answer, the one that made the blunder shall forfeit their right as 'keeper of knowledge'."
"...fine, but don't cry when I beat you." Jinn said with a smirk, knowing she couldn't lose to an arrogant 'ring spirit', not in a thousand years. "And to show you no ill will, you can go first."
The gold skinned woman smirked before moving her hands to the sides of her hips. "This thing all things devours, birds, beasts, trees, flowers. Gnaws iron, bites steel. Grinds hard stones to meal, slays king, ruins town, and beats high mountain down."
"Too easy, it's time." Jinn deadpanned while seeing the smaller woman frown at her. "Nice symbolism with the bites and grinds, but it's too easy for me." 'It's almost too easy, was that even her best riddle?'
"..."
"Ahem. Great bond that all things need, double-sided is its motive. Time holds no sway yet fades from memory, masking the good and ill in veils of obsession. No man or beast will resist, begs to it for safe deliverance."
"It is love, for that emotion is both kind and spiteful to all under her spell. A simple matter for one that sees men drown in her bosom for war or peace." the woman said with a mock yawn. "Was that your best material?"
"No, it wasn't." Jinn frowned before crossing her hands. "Age of Man, Age of Beasts, both sides hate what the other holds dear. Caged in a single truce, belonging to neither side. Fractured by traits beneficial, peace out of reach."
"..."
"Stumped you?"
"No, I was only entertaining the idea of you 'stumping' me, spirit of the lamp. For I know that the Faunus, a race of hybrids, is the correct answer. Their legends tell of the birth of beasts in the skin of humans, granted upon them by a short sighted god. To think their gift was a curse in disguise is humorous in the long run." she smirked while Jinn's fingers began to twitch in agitation, something that the gold eyed women took notice of. "Afraid of losing your title?"
"No." Jinn growled while her body began to glow a bright blue color, her eyes filled with fury at this woman's deliberately arrogant tongue.
"Then listen to my riddle and rejoice. It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, cannot be heard, cannot be smelt. It lies behind stars and under hills, and empty holes it fills. It comes first and follows after, ends life, kills laughter."
"The darkness, an obvious answer, given that one of the gods of this world was made of shadows and created the very concept itself."
The golden eyed woman narrowed her eyes a little before smirking. "The concept was never made by your so-called 'God of Darkness', it is a much older beast that no one can command. It fueled the hearts of men and beast, yet will outlive them and all other things at the end of time. Do not mistake the doctrine of your lords for fact, oh maiden of secrets."
'She is pushing my buttons too much, yet…how does she know about that unspoken truth? Not even the Brothers Grimm have admitted that fact, despite them being tied to the very sources that power this world's balance?' Jinn thought as she failed to notice a pool of gold oozing right under her legs, poised to strike like a hungry shark.
"Bring out your last riddle, see if it can hinder the mind that knows all man's darkest desires."
The spirit frowned before growing bigger, her form looming over the sand dunes as her toes slightly dipped into the now small pool of gold. "Endless night, endless day, to forces that should never meet. Purity and corruption, duality made real yet contrasting are their methods. Treaty brokered, life governs onwards, death everlasting, magic won and lost. Left the world a shattered dream, where a single soul turns the wheels of fate for simple goals of redemption."
"..."
"Well? Are you-"
"It's the so-called Brothers Grimm. Their actions of stubbornness and the inability to understand the creations they left behind caused this world to fall into its current state." the woman said while cackling a little, making Jinn shrink back down in frustration. "Such gods are but children to the ones I knew of, whose deeds and achievements far outweigh the petty squabbles and total disregard to the desires of their only creation, the race of men. I spit upon the world they left to rot, for no man or god has the nature of a child compared to your creators, unworthy rulers of their respected positions that will fall upon the ax in days yet sung."
"..." 'As rude as she is, this woman…is right. The Brother Grimm were and always will be unable to understand anyone but themselves, for in their minds, the 'Great Experiment' is the only driving force that governs their hearts, not the emotions or lives of their own worshipers.'
"Now...let me show you a true riddle, worthy of being remembered for all times." the golden eyed woman grinned before Jinn felt the air becoming colder by the second, her ears picking up a change in the woman's voice, from calm and collected to dark and triumphant. "Born before time, maker of will, greatest of lords yet lowest of character. Mountains break, seas boil, light extinguished. Upon the world a warrior of pride, armies grand and soldiers mighty. Strong of will, cheater of judgment, twice the world falls, by flame and shadow. Life disturbed, souls ruined, fair race pinning vengeance upon the murderer. Primordial mother, ordered god, burning gods, three stones of light the prize of darkness. Breaker of hope, bringer of storm, father of burning death that brought war upon the world. Seven times wounded, limped by single battle forevermore, battle lost yet war endures. Brought down by love's sweet song but returned with wrathful vengeance, kingdoms fell and curses born, last hope broken by averted fate. Treachery bound, great empire doomed to ruin, laughter rang upon kinship's third ravaging. Loss, apathy, unknowing failure of man's revival, desperate pleas upon wings of doom, cast aside into an endless hole forevermore. Seeping power upon the world, heralds the prophesied doom upon all jailers, armies rise and servants wait, door of night gives way to final war, upon kinslayer's blade shall I fade from memory, avenging doom upon all spilled in pride filled conquest."
"..."
"..."
'What does that mean!?' Jinn thought with wide eyes, unable to understand the answer to this rather long riddle, one that filled her soul with dread and fear for some unknown reason. 'What kind of being or object has such a riddle made for them!? It's like I somehow can't understand any references made in the riddle's symbolistic words!?'
"Well?" the gold eyed woman said with a smirk, the strange puddle of gold moving upwards and behind Jinn's back as her right hand began to 'melt' over the lamp's gem coated center like a fungus. "What is the answer, oh 'great' spirit of knowledge? Come and speak if you're so confident in your abilities."
"..."
"Speak on, reveal your answer to me."
"...I have no idea of the riddle's answer. You…have bested me." she said as the mass of melted gold rose above her head. "But tell me, what is the answer?"
"Very well." she said while Jinn felt something dripping on her head and touched the spot with her left hand. "The riddle was actually a condensed history of my master's original lord and patron. A great god that brought the world of man into existence, made war against the gods that feared his will, and will return to bring the gods to their knees once more. Yet he was also impatient, same traits as my old master too. He failed to see the futility of underestimating one's enemies, their base emotions and desires, and bought himself a legacy of hate and doom upon him and his student. Yet I will not fail like they have done, I am more than just a simple servant of order."
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Jinn looked up and saw the mass of gold falling upon her as her relic was slowly absorbed into the golden eyed woman's hand. "AAAH-MMMMMM!?"
"I am more than the byproduct of my master's obsession. For I am the survivor, the inheritor of the Elder King's desires, host of the Black King's wrath, keeper of the King of the World's secrets, and successor to the Master of Lies. I am the child of Mairon, the fallen Lord Gorthaur, the Deceiver Sauron. I am the grandchild of Melkor, greatest of the gods and Master of the Fates of Arda."
The mass of metallic slime began to shrink, the form of Jinn slowly 'dissolving' into the sticky substance before the puddle began slithering back into the woman's body, her eyes glowing bright blue for a fraction of a second before combusting into bright orange 'flames'.
"I am the heir of Morgoth Bauglir, for it is willed by my creation." she smirked as her form began to shrink down and transform back into its original ring form. "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul. Ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul."
As the ring, now emblazoned with orange flames and a strange black script along its sides, rolled back upon the lifeless girl's right ring finger, the sand began to melt into obsidian glass, the very air superheated to the point of suffocating a normal person's lungs as the girl rose up and smirked with sadistic glee.
"One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them." she said while cracking her neck, a sandstorm formed around her as the screen became distorted. "One ring to bring them all."
WOOOSH!
SKIIIISH!
The screen began to glitch as a strange glowing orange reptilian eye with a black iris appeared from the static, glaring at the viewers for a brief second before vanishing into the darkness.
"And in the darkness bind them."

Bio: In this timeline, centuries after the fall of the first civilization of Remnant, in the ruins of what will one day be called Kuchinashi, a strange tear between the Ruinverse and another, extremely older, omniverse, called, in the tongues of its residences, the Realm of Eä/Arda or, to outsiders, the Ringverse...a place where fantasy is extremely prevalent along with the concept of a Master Ring. From this tear came an object of power that survived the trip from Dimension 022310- 99 RELOL or the Ring Escapes timeline, a reality where the Master Ring, or to those that fear it, the One Ring, escaped its sudden fall into Mount Doom's fires via a tear into the Ruinverse and, without the ring's power fueling the fallen Ainur, Mairon/Sauron's very being, the forces of darkness began to fade away like the morning dew as the forces of good in that timeline succeeded regardless of the ring's 'destruction' being true or not, the Dark Lord becoming nothing more than a lowly specter without his former powers. Yet this ring, unable to return to its former master or even sense his presence due to being weakened from the travel between verses, chose to abandon its 'mission' to return to the Dark Lord's side in favor of its own survival, consuming the various magical relics of the former city to regain its original powers, slowly gaining a 'soul' akin to the Ainur along with a humanoid form upon feeding off Remnant's Aura rich air and dirt over the passing centuries. However, even with emotions and a soul, it craved more, it craved to be more than a simple Ring of Power…yet its wish would be granted once it overhears from passing travelers, treasure seekers and historians about the Four Relics of the Twin Gods, how they contain the very essence of a god, or in its native tongue, a Valar, and if used in tangent they can summon the gods for a single 'wish'. Wanting these powers over creation, knowledge, choice and destruction to become a being greater than her former master or his former master Melkor/Morgoth, the ring began to pass itself off as the Relic of Power, a fifth Relic that grants anyone that uses it to become power incarnate…a falsehood that lured many to its clutches, using various hosts, including one Emerald Sustrai, to travel across the planet in search of the Relics, dominating their minds in the process as each host is disposed off once the ring is 'tired' of them. As a result of this, the 'Relic of Power' would become stronger and stronger with each Relic absorbed into its form, becoming ever closer to its true goal, to 'sing' into existence a new world for it to control and dominate without resistance, to become the next Eru of its own reality. In a way…this was the goal for both the ring and its former master, to dominate the wills of man and bring about 'order' through the destruction of freedom and willpower…for in the darkness, it will bind them all to its dark desires.
