35. The End Of The Order
The year was 1997. A young Marianne who was wearing an Equestrian uniform was sitting by a lake and playing with a butterfly, with C.C standing behind her wearing the same uniform. Charles and V.V are shown looking at them from a distance. Charles is much younger here as his hair is a honey blonde colour while V.V looks exactly the same.
"Charles, have you learned anything by becoming Emperor?" V.V asked.
"Yes, big brother. All people are liars. And this vast nation we call Britannia never changes." Charles answered in a monotone way.
"That may be true. But it's just human nature, isn't it?" V.V said.
"Perhaps you're right about that," Charles said in agreement.
"Charles, you won't forget, will you? Our contract?" V.V asked.
"I know. To kill God and smash this world of lies." Charles said, assured.
Present Day: Ashford Academy
After freeing Kallen from her prison cell, they all went back to Ashford to make preparations for their next move. Right now, Lelouch, Logan, Kallen, Rolo and Sayokohad just exited the elevator and were walking towards the main monitoring room.
"I never knew there was a place like this beneath the school," Kallen said, looking around.
"Originally it belonged to the O.S.I for covert missions," Logan told her. "But after taking them out, when commandeered it for ourselves."
"So just think of it as our secret Ashford Base," Rolo added.
"I see," Kallen said.
"Now then, Kallen," Lelouch addressed her. "I know you just got out but I have a surprise for you." He said with a smile.
"A surprise?" Kallen repeated.
As they arrived in front of the door to the monitoring room, Lelouch typed into the keypad and opened the door. As they walked inside, to Kallen's shock and surprise she saw that Shirley was there sitting on the couch near the monitor. And Shirley was surprised to see her as she stood up.
"Kallen!" Shirley went over to her.
"Shirley?" Kallen uttered as Shirley reached her and hugged her.
"I'm so happy to see you again, it's been so long," Shirley said happily.
Kallen released the hug and just looked confused. "Hold on. Shirley, why are you here? What's going on? I don't understand."
"Kallen," Lelouch spoke. "Shirley is now a new member of the Black Knights."
"Huh?!" Kallen became shocked when she heard that.
Shirley smiled and nodded. "It's true."
"But, does that mean…?" Kallen asked, looking at the others.
Rolo nodded. "That's right, she knows our identities."
"Impressively enough, she figured it out without us telling her," Lelouch added.
Kallen looked back at Shirley. "Shirley, are you saying you got your memories back?"
"Yeah," Shirley replied. "I remember everything, even Nunna being here before."
"But, why would you want to join us?" Kallen asked, still not getting it.
Shirley had a sad smile. "Well, the short version is, I really want to help you guys, you and Lulu and everyone else, now that I know what's going on I feel like I want to do something too, after all, I can't just act like I'm not involved at this point." She then looked sure of herself. "And I'm absolutely sure about this, so don't bother trying to convince me otherwise."
"She's telling the truth, she wouldn't listen to anything I said when I tried talking her out of it." Lelouch jokingly pointed out.
"Shirley…" Kallen wasn't sure what to say, then she shook her head. "In that case, I'll say this." She smiled at her. "Thank you for understanding and for joining our side."
Shirley closed her eyes and smiled back at her. "Hey what are friends for."
"Well, for the time being, since Shirley just joined she's a defacto grunt until we find her a position," Logan said.
"Hey, don't call me a grunt," Shirley complained.
"Fine, a foot soldier." Logan rephrased it.
"That's just as bad!" Shirley complained again as the other laughed a bit.
Sayoko walked up to them holding some clothes in her hands.
"Miss Kallen, Miss Shirley," Sayoko said. "Please came with me and change into these."
"My Black Knight uniform." Kallen noticed.
"That's right, one for you and a new one for Miss Shirley," Sayoko said. "I thought you'd prefer to change out of that dress."
Kallen looked down and the dress she was still wearing. "Oh yeah, Nunnally gave me this."
The others' eyes widened when they heard that.
"Nunnally?" Lelouch repeated surprised. "You met with Nunnally?"
Kallen frowned and nodded. "Yes, she gave me a change of clothes and put me in a private cell so I'd be better-taken care of in prison. Whenever she was free she'd come to my cell so we could talk."
Lelouch looked a bit down from hearing about Nunnally. "Nunnally."
Logan looked at him. "Lelouch, do you want to hear more about this?"
Lelouch was quiet for a second before he shook his head.
"This isn't the time for that, we have other duties," Lelouch said, hardening his resolve.
"In that case, both of you please follow me," Sayoko instructed Kallen and Shirley.
Kallen nodded. "Right."
As the three of them were about to leave the room, Lelouch spoke.
"Shirley," She stopped when Lelouch said her name. "For now, please stay beside Kallen as much as you can, it'll be easier for you that way."
"Okay, I got it," Shirley said as she followed Kallen and they left.
Once the door closed, Lelouch sat down. Rolo went over to him and asked a question.
"Lelouch, will we begin going over the operation?" Rolo asked.
"Not yet," Lelouch told him. "We're still waiting for some people."
As if on cue, the door opened and this time, two others walked in. One was Jeremiah and the other was Orpheus who wasn't wearing his Lyra mask.
"Perfect timing, we were just talking about you." Logan greeted them.
Jeremiah stood in front of him. "It has been quite a while, Logan Raymond, or would you prefer I call you Soul?"
"Call me which you're comfortable with," Logan said.
"Sorry we're late, getting all the necessary equipment took a while," Orpheus said.
"Don't worry, I'm just glad you're both here," Lelouch said.
Jeremiah bowed to Lelouch. "Master Lelouch."
"At ease, Jeremiah," Lelouch said.
Jeremiah stood.
"Now that we're all here, we can begin with the briefing," Lelouch said as he stood and went over to the monitor. "This will be a mission to invade and eliminate the Geass Order."
"Wait, didn't you want to take it over?" Rolo asked.
"At first, but after some discussing, it was decided it would be more productive to destroy it instead," Lelouch told him. "Moving on, with this operation we'll be able to cut off the Emperor's supply of Geass subordinates as well as remove V.V from the board completely, and with him out of the way, there be nothing stopping us from moving forward."
"Thanks to Jeremiah, we now have the location of their base," Logan said. "And Orpheus was able to get everything we need to complete this mission without concern."
"The hard part was getting this stuff without letting anyone know what it was for," Orpheus commented.
"One more fact is, the only ones who will be participating in this mission will be those of us currently in this room, along with C.C," Lelouch informed them.
"But that's a total of six people, will that be enough?" Rolo asked.
"The Order has no military strength, only scientists and researchers. To be frank, six people in high powered Knightmares will be more than enough." Jeremiah said.
"And the only other person besides us who knows about Geass is Kallen, but she won't be able to fight without the Guren." Lelouch pointed out. "It must only be us."
"So basically, Sayoko and Kallen will go back to Horai Island and take Shirley with them to be with the rest of the Black Knights, and we'll have C.C head over here to us and go to take out the Geass Order." Logan briefed them.
"The mission will begin tomorrow, I'll contact C.C, the rest of you prepare yourselves," Lelouch instructed them.
[Understood.] Rolo, Orpheus and Jeremiah responded in unison.
Geass Order
At the same time, at the Geass Order, V.V has Cornelia locked in a prison cell. Cornelia sat in her cell and looked hatefully at V.V.
"Are you going to kill me? Or control me with your Geass?" Cornelia asked quietly.
"No, I won't kill you, nor do I plan to control you," V.V answered her casually.
"Then tell me, where is Darlton?" Cornelia asked again.
"I've placed him in a different cell, you two would be much more troublesome if you were together," V.V said.
"Damn you." Cornelia cursed at him.
"Tell me, Cornelia, why did you come all the way here and learn about Geass?" V.V asked. "What reason did you have to do all this?"
Cornelia narrowed her eyes at him and looked away. "It was for Euphie."
V.V smile when he heard that. "For the sake of your sister, you renounced your position, gave up everything. That's inspiring. You made me think, Cornelia, is there any more splendid relationship in this entire world than that of loyal siblings?"
Area 11 Government Bureau
"She escaped?" Suzaku asked surprised.
After parting ways with Lelouch and Shirley, Suzaku was given a call to immediately return to the government bureau and was now speaking with two soldiers that were informing him of Kallen's escape.
"Yes sir." A soldier said. "We concerned that the prisoner escaped from her cell and the bureau itself."
"What about the security cameras?" Suzaku asked.
"We tried checking them by all the footage at the time were tampered with." The other soldier said. "There are traces of hacking in the system which leads us to believe that this was part of a larger plot."
"Does this mean Lelouch and the others succeeded in freeing Kallen?" Suzaku thought. "But they still left the Guren behind, meaning this was done out of necessity."
"Sir Kururugi, what should we do about this?" The soldier asked.
"I'll inform the Viceroy about this. You two go back to guarding the prison-wing," Suzaku instructed them. "If you find any additional information, make sure to send it directly to me."
They both saluted and said. [Yes, My Lord!]
Ikaruga
The next day on Horai Island, C.C is lazily relaxing in Lelouch's room. The room was a mess as many books from the bookshelf were knocked over and on the floor, the chess pieces on the chessboard were knocked over. And there were empty boxes of pizza on the table. In fact, C.C was currently in the middle of eating pizza right now.
"I can't believe Lelouch. Who does he think I am?" C.C complained. "Leaving me behind here like I was a messenger girl or something. What? Hardly. I'm just really worried that he's forgotten our contract. Anyway, what are you planning to do? How long are you going to stay inside of…"
Before she could go on with her conversation, the large screen in the room turned on and an incoming transmission began to play. Soon enough, Lelouch appeared on the screen.
"C.C. I have finally located where the Order is," Lelouch told her. "Jeremiah provided key information. We're going to send in a small force, including yourself and wipe it out."
"So you're finally going through with this?" C.C asked.
"That's right. The knowledge and power of Geass is no longer something I can leave in the hands of others, especially people like them." Lelouch said. "So I'll make sure that we're the only ones who possess Geass, that means erasing V.V."
"And are you going to erase me as well?" C.C asked carelessly.
"You know I can't do that. You're eternally young and immortal." Lelouch pointed out.
"V.V is also eternally young and also immortal." C.C pointed.
"I'll neutralize him and leave him helpless. And there's always the method that Clovis used on you." Lelouch reasoned, referring to the capsule C.C was originally sealed in. "Besides, I wanna see if you are really loyal to me now. Since you were once the leader of the Order we're fighting."
"That was a long time ago and I was just window dressing. I never had real power like V.V." C.C informed him. "Still… We've been accomplices, haven't we?"
"The Order will be wiped out. Which will test you." Lelouch said.
"I'm prepared to see it through to the end," C.C said.
"Good. Because there's one thing more. I wanna know the details of our contract. What is it you want from all this?" Lelouch asked.
"That has nothing to do with the mission. I have no intention of telling you that." C.C said.
"Then what about Logan? Would you tell him?" Lelouch asked sarcastically.
C.C smiled at that. "I'd give him the same answer I'd give you."
"Willful woman," Lelouch commented.
C.C stood up and kept her smile. "Yes, that's right. That's exactly what makes me C.C."
Geass Order
At the Geass Order, V.V. discusses with four others the matter of Cornelia and Bartley.
"Bartley and the others are one thing. But what do we do about Princess Cornelia?" One of the members asked.
"Should we at least contact His Majesty?" Another member asked.
V.V thought for a moment. "Hmm, I wonder if Charles knew about Cornelia's actions, or if he didn't…"
Suddenly, the large screen in front of V.V started transmitting a signal and another member's voice could be heard on screen.
"Director V.V, we have the scheduled transmission from Lord Jeremiah." The member reported.
"Right. Can you patch it though?" V.V requested.
The screen changed to show an image of who was on the other line. However, instead of seeing Jeremiah like they expected, the one who appeared on screen was Lelouch, still dressed in his student uniform and was sitting in his bedroom at Ashford.
"Surprised to see me?" Lelouch addressed them. "So you're V.V."
V.V looked surprised to see him. "Lelouch…"
"How could he have access to Jeremiah's network?" One of the members asked, shocked.
"Where's the signal from?" Another member asked.
"Area 11. Looks like he's inside Ashford." A third member said.
"I'm sure I need no introduction at this point. So I'll just start with direct questions. Was it you who arranged myself and Euphie to be kidnapped during the SAZ incident? Also, did you put Suzaku and I and the others on Kamine island to observe us?" Lelouch asked knowingly.
"Yes, that's correct," V.V answered unconcernedly. "But the fact that you're asking these questions means you've regained all of your lost memories, doesn't it?
"That's right. I am Zero." Lelouch declared.
"Then C.C. must be with you. Can you hand her over?" V.V requested. "We'll let you go free if you do."
"It's too late for that. I hereby declare war against you with no mercy." Lelouch declared.
"Oh yeah?" V.V replied with confidence. "But by the time you get here from Area 11, we'll move to another place."
As he said that, the sound of an explosion going off nearby was heard by V.V and those around him, not to mention the ground shook a bit.
"Director V.V! Knightmares!" A member reported.
"What?" V.V gasped.
"I think it's the Black Knights!" Another member reported.
The Knightmares that appeared inside the Order's base were the Agravaine piloted by Logan, The Vincent piloted by Rolo and an Akatsuki-Flight enabled type piloted by C.C.
"V.V's current location is verified," C.C told them. "We just need to encircle and eliminate."
"Don't hesitate and don't let your guards down," Logan instructed them. "C.C, take the left, Rolo, take the right, I'll handle the centre."
"Right, I'm on it," Rolo said as they began.
As the attack had begun, both Cornelia and Darlton took notice o the sounds of explosions happening around them, so did Bartley and his team.
V.V frowned and said. "I see. So that's how it is."
"That's right. I'm glad you gave me a bit of your time." Lelouch said as the four walls around him came down and Lelouch then reveals he tricked them into thinking that he was in Area 11 when he was actually right outside the Order. "You just had to let down your guard for a moment. Since you believed I was in Area 11, you thought you had time to escape. That's why you trapped now. V.V, the one who shall render judgement here is me!"
Jeremiah and Orpheus were also there, standing at Lelouch's left and right side respectively. Which Jeremih has a proud expression, Orpheus has a determined one. Behind Lelouch is the Shinkiro, behind Jeremiah, is a Sutherland and behind Orpheus is his own personal Knightmare—The Rekka Byakuen.
The Rekka Byakuen was a White armour coloured Knightmare with a Black torso and Golden head. It was a 7th Generation Knightmare Frame that was a height of 4.63 meters, a weight of 7.96 metric tonnes, a Power Source of a Yggdrasil Drive, Energy Filler. It had a Cockpit Ejection System, Kou Kisou Kudourin-type Landspinner Propulsion System, Directed Gefjun Breaker and a Variable Super Electromagnetic Barrel Device.
The Armaments were, 1x Hien Souga-type Slash Harken (Left Chest-mounted), a Right Arm-inbuilt "7-Type Integrated Armaments Right Arm"— Those seven were, Manipulator Hand, Single Irregular Blade (with a jagged edge), Combined Blade (two irregular blades joined together), Giant Scissors, a Drill, an Electromagnetic Accelerator Cannon (can switch between armour-piercing rounds and grenades) and Long-range Railgun (Accelerator Cannon combined with Variable Super Electromagnetic Barrel Device).
Each Knightmare has a float-system.
Back inside the Order, The Knightmares begin to close in on the scientists, brutally shooting them up, destroying the building and laying waste to everything around them. It wasn't a pleasant sight, but both Logan and Rolo have been in countless battles on war-zones at this point and were able to harden their hearts to do what needed to be done, while C.C merely saw this as taking responsibility for something she should have done ages ago. Thus, none of them hesitated.
"Load research data into the Eject Dart and prepare the device," V.V ordered them. "You know which one I mean."
"Director, you're facing them personally?" A member asked.
"I need to buy you time to escape with the data. Besides, I have to teach some discipline to Marianne's child." V.V said, still confident.
Ikaruga
Back at the Ikaruga, Kallen walks into the main room with Shirley behind her, both of them are in their Black Knight uniforms. Shirley's one is costume made, unlike other Black Knights' jackets, her one extended past her hips and had no sleeves which exposed her shoulders, it was almost like a dress.
When they walked in, Tamaki, Ohgi, Inoue and Minami and came to greet them.
"Kallen!" Tamaki loudly greeted her.
"Welcome back, Kallen," Ohgi happily welcomed her.
Kallen smiled happily at them. "I'm sorry I worried you guys."
"Don't apologise, we're just glad you're back," Minami assured her.
"Where's Zero and the others?" Tamaki asked.
"He and Soul went with them to take out an enemy stronghold," Kallen informed them.
"Heh, those guys, always going from one thing to the next," Tamaki joked lightheartedly. "Still, they really stuck it to those Britannians by busting you out of jail. Wish I could've seen the looks on their faces when they found out you escaped."
"Glad you think it's funny, Rakshata was really disappointed when she heard they had to leave the Guren behind." Inoue pointed out.
"I'm sorry," Kallen said, also not happy about that fact.
Ohgi shook his head. "It's not your fault. We'll get it back another time."
"By the way…" Tamaki trailed out, noticing Shirley who had remained silent the whole time. "Who's that?"
"I-I'm Shirley Fenette." Shirley nervously introduced herself.
"She a new member of the Black Knights, Zero assigned me to be her supervisor until we find a position for her," Kallen explained. "She's also a friend of mine."
"A new member?" Minami repeated surprised. "That's a surprise, and a Britannian at that?"
"Is that a problem?" Shirley asked.
Minami shook his head. "No, it's just… It's been a while since we've had any new recruits."
"Well, I say if she's okay with Zero then she's okay with me." Tamaki decided.
"You've got a point." Inoue agreed, walking up to Shirley and offering a hand. "Welcome aboard."
Shirley smiled and shook her hand. "Thank you."
Geass Order
Back at the Order, Lelouch, Orpheus and Jeremiah quickly joined the battle and all six Knightmares were easily tearing down everything in sight, people, building and grounds. They all went off in different directions and were destroying the base in separate locations, while still being in range for communication. The Shinkiro was hovering over the centre, overlooking the battle.
While the Order was burning down, Bartley and three others were using the time to try and escape.
"Have you found Princess Cornelia or General Darlton yet?" Bartley asked them. "We have to use this chance to save every…"
Before he could say anymore, they were all suddenly gunned down by a rain of bullet. The Agravaine was the one that shot that and C.C's Knightmare stopped nearby and she came out of her cockpit when she noticed them.
"C.C, what's the matter?" Logan asked.
"That man there. Wasn't he working with Clovis?" C.C asked, pointing him out.
Logan looked and noticed it as well. "You're right, that's Bartley."
"Director C.C!" Suddenly a voice called out and they both looked to see a group of six researchers who appeared before her, hoping for her assistance, one of them even tried appealing to her by bowing. "You've come back to us."
"Please save us, C.C!" One of them pleaded.
At that moment, Logan brought out the Agravaine's Hadron Blast and fired it at them, instantly annihilating them.
"Scum, they'd say anything to save their own skin." Logan cursed them.
C.C just looked at the spot where they once stood with an expression that was a mix of regret and acceptance. Meanwhile, Bartley who was on the verge of death looked up at C.C and spoke no louder than a whisper.
"Your Highness, Prince Clovis…" Bartley shrugged to speak his last words. "The eternally young immortal woman you wish to present to His Majesty… It would seem that he was already aware of her existence… Please, please forgive me, Your Highness. We never should've involved ourselves with that witch…"
With those words, Bartley died.
Ikaruga
Meanwhile, Diethard is making a video call with Todoh and Chiba, Asahina, Xingke, Hong Gu, and Xianglin, who all appeared on different screen on a large screen and he informs them of the mission.
"Yes, Zero and have gone to attack a Britannian research facility. They've kept location and missions secret." Diethard informed them.
"More of those clandestine activities?" Chiba asked.
"And now that the Saudis have been subjugated we must ratify the united states' charters as quickly as possible," Todoh said.
"It's true that more factions are caving into Britannia so we need to move very quickly as you say," Diethard said.
"But there's positive movement as well. Italy and Poland have come over to our side. We need to speak to Zero and Soul as soon as they return." Xingke said.
"Understood," Diethard replied.
Just then, another screen appears on the large screen and it shows an image of Euphie with Urabe behind her.
"Euphemia, who's the status on your end?" Diethard asked.
"Everything went well," Euphie informed them of the good news. "I've successfully convinced Russia to join us."
"Excellent, that's mean we've gained a leg up over Britannia," Xingke said pleased.
"And we'll have more manpower and military strength, well done." Diethard praised her.
"Thank you," Euphie said humbly. "I and Urabe will be returning shortly."
"We'll see you soon," Urabe said.
With that done, the screens all disappeared from the large screen as Diethard ended the video call and turned around to face Sayoko.
"This is what Zero wants, isn't it?" Diethard asked for confirmation.
"Yes," Sayoko confirmed. "We have to maintain tight secrecy around his activities and his very existence. The only exception to this is Soul."
"Right, everything is proceeding as they had planned and we have to make sure it stays that way," Diethard said. "That means we can't allow any outside interference."
Geass Order
Meanwhile, at the Order, the Black Knights continued destroying the base and were almost done destroying everything. Lelouch in the Shinkiro was still hovering over the centre, monitoring the battle.
"Once we corner V.V, the battle is ours, with our superior power this operation is all but over." Lelouch thought confidently.
Just then, however, as Lelouch approaches the middle of the Order, a giant orange ball smashes through, revealing the Knight Giga Fortress, more specifically the Siegfried that Jeremiah used against Soul, Suzaku and C.C. during the battle over the pacific one year ago.
"What?!" Lelouch gasped.
"It's that machine!" Logan recognized.
"The Siegfried!" C.C also recognized.
"Impossible!" Jeremiah gasped as he approached it.
Lelouch contacted Jeremiah. "Jeremiah, Isn't that unit…?"
"Yes. Since it works on direct bio connect the only one who can use it besides me is…"
As he implied, the only person who can use it other than himself is V.V, who in fact is the pilot.
"I thought so!" Lelouch yelled.
V.V uses one of his spikes to shove Lelouch out of the Order, but it doesn't damage the Shinjuku due to its shields.
"You surprised me, V.V. The observer becomes a perpetrator!" Lelouch shouted as he straightened the Shinkiro.
V.V retracted the spike. "You know, I sort of liked you, Lelouch. Because you remind me of Charles." V.V admitted.
The Siegfried then gave chase to the Shinkiro as the other Knightmares came out to join the battle outside. C.C' Knightmare appeared behind V.V.
"I can't believe it. He's using the Siegfried unit here?" C.C said surprised.
Lelouch contacted her. "Get out of here! You're the one he's after." He warned her.
As the Siegfried went after the Shinkiro, it was suddenly fired at from the sides which made it stop.
"Oh?" V.V looked at the ones that fired at him.
On one side, hovering behind the Siegfried was Jeremiah's Sutherland and Orpheus' Rekka Byakuen that were aiming their weapons at him. On the other side, hovering near the Shinkiro was the Agravaine and the Vincent with their weapons drawn as well.
"Hold it right there, V.V!" Jeremiah warned him.
"This is the end, just give up!" Orpheus hatefully demanded.
"Who do you think you're talking to? Even together you all can't stop me." V.V confidently replied.
"V.V, I swear I'll tear you out of that thing myself! All units, attack!" Lelouch declared to all of them.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" Jeremiah proclaimed as he and everyone else fired their weapons.
Every Knightmare fired bullets at the Siegfried and the Shinkiro fired Hadron Bullets at it. However, with a maniacal laugh, V.V activated the Siegfried's special defence system and the machine began spinning at a fast pace, which allowed the spikes to act as a shield that deflected all incoming attacks.
Lelouch grit his teeth. "That spinning shield is powerful."
"Marianne's son is getting carried away with himself," V.V said.
V.V then used the spinning shield as a weapon and the Siegfried flew towards the enemy Knightmares, intending to use the shield to slash at them. Fortunately, they all dodged him and V.V elevated higher in the air.
"That machine was made so that I could prove my loyalty!" Jeremiah yelled.
"Jeremiah, I thought that you had a personal grudge against Zero." V.V brought up.
"I did. Because I thought he was a mere commoner preventing me from serving the loyal family. But now I know who he is and I know that by serving him, I am serving My Lady, Marianne!" Jeremiah proudly declared as he thought of Marianne.
The moment he heard her name, V.V's expression became furious. "Even you… You dare speak her name to me?!" He yelled angrily.
Down below, back inside the destroyed remains of the Order, Cornelia is now free from her cell and is roaming around, Darlton who is also free quickly appears before her.
"Princess!" Darlton said as he found her.
"Darlton, you escaped as well?" Cornelia addressed him.
"That's right, what's happening around her?" Darlton asked.
"From the looks of things, this place is under siege," Cornelia said.
"Then My Lady, what should we do?" Darlton asked.
"Follow me," Cornelia replied as she walked off in a certain direction. "I'm going to teach V.V the folly in underestimating me." She said with determination.
Back in the sky, the battle was still raging on and all the Black Knights' Knightmares were facing off against the Siegfried. Before long, the Agravaine charged in and went on the offensive.
"You might think that machine makes you invincible, but don't forget I've beaten the Siegfried once before!" Logan declared.
"Oh yeah?" V.V replied, still confident. "You only barely did so last year and you only won because you had Suzaku with you then."
"It's true, I don't have Suzaku with me, but unlike then, I have the Phantom Agravaine!" Logan loudly proclaimed as he readied his Hadron Blaster.
However, that was just a diversion as the Siegfried was suddenly shot at from bellow by strong ammunition, this shook the machine and V.V.
"Who could know the Siegfried's only weak point?" V.V wondered as he looked.
Beneath the Siegfried, Orpheus' Rekka Byakuen's right arm had shifted into its long-ranged railgun and fired at the bottom of the Siegfried.
"You left yourself wide open, V.V!" Orpheus proclaimed.
"So now's it's Orpheus' turn is it?" V.V said calmly.
The Siegfried fired one of its spikes at the Rekka Byakuen, but the Knightmare dodged the spike by flying upwards.
"It doesn't matter if you know the weak spot if you're still in range and can still blow you away." V.V reminded him. "You're like Jeremiah aren't you? You also betrayed me."
"You talk as though I was ever on your side, to begin with, you know I always hated you V.V," Orpheus said.
"That's right, you were a lab rat that ran away, clinging to garbage all the while." V.V insulted him, mockingly. "And now you're a dog of the Black Knights."
"Wrong, I left here because I wasn't bound by you like you hoped and I found freedom." Orpheus corrected before he glared. "I only came back to get my revenge."
"Revenge on who?" V.V asked innocently. "Oiaguro and the Pluto organization are both dead, I didn't do anything to be a part of your revenge."
"Don't try to hide it!" Orpheus said angrily. "It was on your orders, that day, I lost everything because you ordered them to get rid of me, me and Euliya!"
"What did you expect?" V.V brushed off, heartlessly. "I couldn't just leave defects running around."
"Is that all you have to say?" Orpheus asked with venom in his voice.
"What difference does it make, after all, no one wanted you to live in the first place, neither your parents nor your family nor even your homeland, nobody wanted you to live." V.V cruelly reminded him. "You should have just stayed hidden, maybe then you could have continued your unwanted existence."
"You're wrong, there was one person who wanted me to live." Orpheus denied his words. "And I promised her that I would, no matter what. All this time, if just been surviving, but that ends today. V.V today you die and then, I start living!"
The Siegfried fires another spike but this time, Rolo's Vincent flies in and uses its MVS short-sword to slash the wire connecting the spike, causing it to fall and with that opening, he fires his Assault Rifle at the Siegfried. Before getting too damaged, V.V flew back to avoid the shots.
"Hey, I hope you haven't forgotten about the rest of us." Rolo taunted.
"You're all starting to annoy me," V.V said, clearly upset.
The Siegfried activates its spinning shield and tries ramming into them a second time.
"Shatter!" Lelouch shouted.
All the Knightmares flew in different directions to gain distance and avoid the Siegfried's assault.
Then out of nowhere, a series of cannon blasts suddenly fire at the Siegfried's only weak point and continue to damage it, which startles V.V and the others.
"What is this, who could be firing at the weak spot while staying out of range?" V.V asked himself as he looks down to see Cornelia and Darlton with the Sutherland that has been remodelled with guns and cannons, now looking like a moving assault fortress. These attacks damage the Siegfried's shields and thus leave it vulnerable.
"We were fortunate that they had another Knightmare stashed away," Darlton said, beside Cornelia. "Though it was meanly used for experimentation."
"Regardless, it was just what I needed." Cornelia glared up at V.V in the Siegfried. "So your name is V.V. You were mistaken when you treated me like an incompetent weakling."
"Is that who I think it is?" Logan said, surprised to see Cornelia.
"I never expected Cornelia to be here," Lelouch said also surprised before turning back to the battle. "The Siegfried's shields are all down. Direct attack!"
Upon hearing that, V.V started to panic as he realized he had no way to escape this.
"Now you're going to suffer for what you did to Euphie." Cornelia proclaimed as she prepared to fire.
"This is the end of you, V.V," Orpheus said as he aimed the long-range railgun
"Are you prepared to repent?" Logan said as he aimed the Hadron Blaster
With that, the Shinkiro fired the Zero beam, The Agravaine fired the Hadron Blaster, The Rekka Byakuen fired the long-range railgun, the Vincent fired its Assault Rifle and Cornelia fired all of her ammunition. All these attacks bombarded the Siegfried from all sides and this caused the machine to break apart.
"It's no use. The Siegfried is finished." V.V realized as the machine was failing him. He then used the last of its power to fly towards the Shinkiro in an attempt to attack Lelouch. "It's you, Lelouch. You an abomination!" He cursed.
Before he could reach him, however, the Rekka Byakuen flew in front of his path and changed its right arm into a Drill which Orpheus used to charged at V.V and pierced the drill through the Siegfried. He then activated the drill and it tore through the machine, finishing it off.
"Damn you!" V.V roared at him.
"With this, you're done," Orpheus said calmly as the Rekka Byakuen removed its arm and flew off.
With that, the Siegfried no longer had the ability to stay in the air and started plummeting towards the ground. As it fell, it was crashing towards the spot where Cornelia and Darlton were and was about to crush them when Jeremiah suddenly appeared.
"Come, Your Highness!" Jeremiah shouted as he quickly grabbed Cornelia, along with Darlton and fled to safety.
At that point, the Siegfried crash-landed on the ground on top of the Order's base and exploded into a large explosion which caused the whole base itself to explode as well, leaving nothing behind but a flaming pile of stone ruins.
Orpheus looked down at the remains of the Order and took a deep breath before he thought. "Euliya, I did it."
Underneath The Geass Order
At the same time, Down below the Geass Order, the four men who were with V.V escape into an underground train with the research while the fighting was going on, intending to rebuild the Order in the European Union. The four men were about to leave until they saw V.V get defeated.
"The Siegfried!" One of them gasped.
"Director V.V!" Another one gasped.
"Calm down. Remember director V.V. cannot be killed." A third member reminded them. "He can always use the Twilight Gate on the lowest level. If we just get research data away from here, then we…"
They all gasped because as the hatch opens, they discover C.C there in her Knightmare while her cockpit was open and she was seen by that. Her Knightmare was aiming its gun at them, ready to fire at any moment.
"Is that…!" One of them said shocked.
"Lady C.C!" Another one said in disbelief.
"Forgive me. This is my personal sin for having neglected you. At last, I shall put an end to the lineage of Geass." C.C said with regret as her eyes started to tear up. "So be it. Perhaps this is how the others and I should…"
She doesn't say anything else and then fires a round at the train, blowing it up.
Geass Order
Lelouch investigates the Siegfried but discovers that V.V has escaped and sends a message to the other Knightmares. "The target is fled inside. I'll look for him starting on the lowest level. Rolo, you search from the top down. Logan, you sweep the middle levels."
V.V, meanwhile, crawls back to his throne room, where a Thought Elevator is located. He is in a bloody and injured state as he is covered in bleeding wounds, open cuts and his uniform is in tatters.
"Lelouch, how dare you…" V.V struggled to speak, at that point, the door opens to reveal Charles and V.V looks relieved, believing he has come to rescue him. "I'm glad you came after all. Charles, the most splendid relationship in the world is that of loyal siblings."
"Big brother, is it true you're the one who sent an assassin after Lelouch?" Charles asked him.
"Yes. And thanks to that, I've been the victim of his assassins. But, I've also learned something. That Lelouch is Zero. That he even tricked Nunnally." V.V said, though lying about the last part.
Charles looks at him with an expression of sadness. "You lied to me once again, big brother."
Meanwhile, Lelouch in the Shinkiro flies around searching for V.V, soon enough the radar picks up something.
"I'm picking up signs of life. Have you returned to the point where you began, V.V?" Lelouch asked as the Shinkiro discovered V.V's body and stopped above him.
When V.V saw him, he smiled and a stream of electricity identical to the one on Kamine Island suddenly engulfs the Shinkiro.
"What's this!?" Lelouch gasped as he was consumed. "Damn it! This is what happened on Kamine island!"
Sword Of Akasha, C's World
Instead of a Geass illusion, however, Lelouch and the Shinkiro get separated and wind up inside the Thought Elevator.
"How was I pulled out of the Shinkiro?" Lelouch wondered in shock as he looked around. "Where is this place? It's not an illusion or hologram." He suddenly remembered. "Wait, I've been here before."
"That is correct!" A loud voice bellowed from atop the stairs. "And Knightmares are such inelegant things. Especially in the face of this system — The Sword of Akasha!" The one speaking these words was Charles.
The moment Lelouch saw him, his expression changed into pure outrage as he roared. "It's you!"
Charles grinned as he yelled. "Lelouch, my son. The time has come at last. The time for final redemption!"
And that's the chapter. This chapter wasn't that hard to put together, just them taking out the Geass Order. I decided to change it so instead of bringing the Zero Squad, they just brought the main some of the main cast, I figured it would be overkill considering the Order only has the Siegfried for defence and it would stop any problems down the line if anyone found out what they were doing here.
At first, I thought about not killing the people at the Order but instead capturing them, but I wouldn't even know where to begin with that. I also thought about bringing Kallen even without the Guren, but she needs to stay with Shirley. Bonus, Shirley has now officially been brought into the Black Knights.
As for the fight, in this version of the story, the person who's been wronged the most by V.V is Orpheus so I put more focus on him instead of Lelouch when it came to hating V.V as well as letting him have the final blow since I felt he deserved it.
