This is a hard time for them, and it'll be harder for someone else, who will make the choice which is linked with the other scenario I made from "Luck, Nightmares and Fears: what if?" Chapter 613: The aftermath and the Plan.
(August 28. The Loud House.)
The Loud House is silent, and no one is making noise. Everyone there is just... Silent, and the sole reason why is because of what had happened the other day, and it involved what should've been a normal visit and talk with the former Loud parents, but it turned into chaos and someone lost his life, to save Lincoln Loud.
Luna Loud comes down the stairs, and she goes into the dining room and she sees Michelle is making some plans, and she doesn't know what that is all about, but she knows that Michelle has her reasons and so she'll let her be, then Luna heads for the kitchen to get something to drink, but before she can touch the fridge handle, she looks out the window to the backyard.
She sighs and looks concerned, at the backyard she sees her son, Lincoln Loud sitting under the shade of the tree, and being embraced by Sam Sharp, she came to the place to check on Lincoln and how he is feeling, she heard about what had gone down and she wished that she was there, to help them, and then what had gone down would not have happened, but it did.
Lincoln has been a total wreck and he wouldn't stop crying last night, knowing that someone had risked his life to save him, someone they didn't even know much about and yet he felt like a good friend, and a family member, but now he is gone and Lincoln feels bad to be the one to have caused his end, and Luna did the best she could to comfort her upset child.
Luna has been telling Lincoln that what happened was something they didn't see coming, and chances it would've happened anyway even if they never did come there, but her son spoke otherwise and said that the man who wanted to kill them was waiting for when Lynnard and Rita were gonna get a visit from them, and deep down Lincoln feels that if they had never went there to visit, then none of what had happened the other day wouldn't happened at all.
That was a hard and strong speech and made so much sense, and Luna knows that her son is now filled with guilt, and he doesn't wanna go back and see Rita and Lynnard anymore, but the one thing that he will attend is obviously the funeral of the man who did save his life, Gerald Langston, and surely that is an event they would have to wait for when the time is right and when someone calls them.
Luna also recalls that Leonard Loud will come to visit his former son, after a month has passed. He has a lot of work to do at Camp, and he wishes he could be there, but they all understand and deep down it hurts them all that one man, a stranger who was heroic has sacrificed himself, to save them all. Luna sighs and she looks to the date on the calendar. 'So, when the hell do we go and say goodbye to the dude who saved us?'
"Luna..." The rocker teen mom turns round and she sees Michelle. "I have some news for you to know..."
Luna is confused, but then she looks to the window and sees Sam still comforting Lincoln. "And what the heck might that be, dude?"
Michelle then explains. "Luna, I spoke with the wife of Gerald Langston and the plans have been setup, tomorrow we will attend the funeral of the man who gave his life... To give some closure, and some last words, from Lynnard, and from Lincoln. Are you alright with that?"
Luna is surprised, and she doesn't look to Michelle, but she calms down and sighs. "Understood, and thank you Michelle." Michelle nods and then she heads back upstairs to inform her daughters, and then Luna looks out the window again. 'Time to tell them the truth.' She then leaves the house, and into the backyard to inform Lincoln and Sam, about what they gotta do for tomorrow.
(State Michigan Correctional Facility, Lansing city, Lansing.)
We now return here, and right now we see Lynnard Senior, in his cell and alone. No cellmate, and with the items from his cellmate, Gerald Langston no longer there anymore, and he sighs and feels concerned, sad and truly upset from what had happened the other day.
Everything seemed so good, so nice and then the trouble came from someone who wanted revenge, and he feels that he should've done something, but he never had to deal with someone who was out for revenge, and all he wanted that day was to hear out on what had happened at the camp he once always went to, and his Gramps.
But things have turned south and bad real fast, and now someone from within the prison is no longer with them, and that someone was his dear friend and cellmate, and the whole news went all throughout the prison and the inmates all feel bad after what had happened, that one man started the fight to have the others beat each other up and to try to kill a kid and some other folks, but to end up killing a good man who is trying to change.
After what had gone down, Lynn Sr has chosen to not go into coking for the whole month, or until he feels like he wants to go back. He feels like the one person who has been his good friend, and someone he could call a brother has now left him all alone, and Lynn doesn't want any of the inmates to come and talk to him and he wants to be left alone, and so they will accept those wishes, and many of the inmates who were part of the fight have been told that they will be transferred to another location, far from here.
Rita has been doing her best to comfort her husband, but it barely does anything, but he is still attending the parenting classes, and he is doing well as he always is, and yet Rita wishes she can do more to comfort her husband, and they even got a visit from the wife and children of Gerald, and she was told that someone is going to help her with the funeral, and that Lynn is coming along to attend, since she knows that Gerald sees Lynnard as a brother too.
Lynn is honored to come along and be there, but it hurts a lot that he has to watch his closest pal be buried six feet under, and he wishes he could turn back the clock and perhaps avoid this chaos and horrible thing, and then perhaps Gerald would still be alive. Lynnard already understands, that his father Leonard Loud can't visit them until next month, and he knows that his father has a camp to run, and he'll talk to him again soon.
Lynnard looks to the photos he was given, the photos of Gerald and Lynnard when they were spending time as brothers, and good friends, and these were from the surveillance cameras which the warden allowed him to keep, since Rita and Lynnard will be released when next year comes of course, and this should serve as a reminder of those they have befriended and lost.
'Gerald, buddy... I don't know what else to do, but when I say that I don't know what to do, I know that you would tell me that... "Lynn, you gotta get your head back on straight and wake up. Things might be hard and change will come again, let it be good or bad, but what matters is that you stick to what you wanna look forward to the future, and then power walk right through it, be brave and strong and don't let the past and bad memories get to ya." Because, that's how determined you are for your future, which you aren't around to see it anymore.'
Lynnard then sees the photos of Gerald when he writes down the letters he wants to send to his family. 'Dang, the one thing that hurts the most, is that your wife and kids are now fatherless and they don't have someone to be there, and I wish I could do something, but I know you would want me to be on my own path, and your wife spoke the same to me as well, that I should go on with the life I deserve when I am done here. Gerald, my friend... My brother, I am so sorry for... for what had happened.'
'The only one to be blamed here, was that damned maniac who wanted us dead, but then again... I should've done something, but I didn't know what else to do and I was so confused and... I need to improve, I need to try and be stronger, but my own way and perhaps with some changes, I need to keep going and stop possible outcomes which would ruin our lives, and even those of the kids despite the fact that they rent within my family anymore.'
Lynnard then looks to the last photo, of himself and Gerald Langston helping with the big bake sale for the prison, and he has an idea. 'Gerald, when the funeral does happen, then I will ask if it is alright, top carry your last name. Because, I am no longer a loud, but perhaps I should take up what was lost, and become... A Langston. For you, old friend, my brother.'
To be continued in the next chapter.
A/N: The funeral for Gerald Langston is soon, and it seems like someone is about ready to choose his last name, for when the time comes for him to make departure, and it could be the last time they will meet till next year starts, am I right? I hope you all enjoyed reading this new chapter everyone.
